Wilfred Paul LeBlanc
Wilfred Paul LeBlanc, 81, of Newport died peacefully June 12, 2008, in Newport.
Mr. LeBlanc was born September 29, 1926, in Jay, a son of Joseph and Leda (Theroux) LeBlanc.
On September 30, 1950, he married
Yvette Campbell, who survives him.
He served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II.
He was a dairy farmer for seven years, and he owned and operated LeBlanc Barn Supply for 30 years.
He held membership with St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, and he was a third- and fourth-degree member of Knights of Columbus Gibbons Council 2285 and Gibbons Assembly 1157. He was a member of American Legion Post 21 of Newport.
He and his wife enjoyed camping and traveling to Florida in their motor home.
They adopted twin boys, Alfred and Anthony, in 1953.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Yvette; by his son Anthony of Reno, Nevada; by his brothers Gaston LeBlanc of North Troy and Leonard LeBlanc and his wife, Joyce, of Wesley Chapel, Florida; by his sister Juliette Bourne of Morrisville; by his sister-in-law Georgette LeBlanc of Troy; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Alfred in 1992; by two half-brothers, Albert Boulay and Armand Boulay; by his sister Anita Carstarphen; and by his brother Laurent LeBlanc.
Funeral services were held June 17 at St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church in Newport with the Reverend Yvon Royer celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed in St. Mary’s cemetery in Newport with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. LeBlanc’s memory may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Renovation Fund, 191 Clermont Circle, Newport, Vermont 05855.

Lila Duval Lamoureux
Lila Duval Lamoureux, 93, of Island Pond died peacefully June 14, 2008, in Burlington.
Mrs. Lamoureux was born in Newport on May 4, 1915, a daughter of Charles and Maude (Briggs) Duval.
She was predeceased by two brothers, baby Leon and Floyd.
She graduated from Newport High School in 1934. On June 30, 1935, she married
Victor Lamoureux in Christ Episcopal Church in Island Pond. In 1985, the couple celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with their many friends and relatives. Mr. Lamoureux died in 1986 after a yearlong battle with cancer.
The couple was blessed with the birth of their son Brent, who, with his wife, Joanne, survives her. She is survived by grandson Craig Lamoureux and his companion, Manasseh Tourigny, of Colchester; by granddaughter Sarah Ricker and her husband, Jeromey, of Johnson; and by nieces and nephews: Louise Savary, Diane Coughlin, Dennis Duval, Michael Duval, and Jean Crawford.
In 1974, she and her husband sold their home in Island Pond, and Mr. Lamoureux built an A-frame in Brunswick, where they spent summers for ten years. They spent winters in Largo, Florida. They moved back to Island Pond to be near doctors and the hospital.
After her husband died, she spent eight years in Sunrise Manor in Island Pond. In 2004 she moved to Huntington with her son and daughter-in-law Brent and Joanne Lamoureux, who took care of her with loving care and kindness for three years.
In November 2006 she moved into Starr Farm Nursing Home in Burlington.
She worked for New England Telephone and Telegraph for ten years. She was assistant town clerk for the town of Brighton for ten years and worked for the Selective Service in Montpelier for two years.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Island Pond for 70 years. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Island Pond’s Women’s Club, the Random Ladies, the Club Nine Investment Club, and the Sunrise Manor Seniors, of which she served as secretary to all.
Funeral services were held June 17 at Christ Episcopal Church with the Reverend Brendan Whittaker officiating. Interment followed in Lakeside cemetery, where members of American Legion Auxiliary 81 conducted a prayer service.

Patricia “Patsy” T. Barrup
Patricia “Patsy” T. Barrup, 77, of Newport died peacefully June 12, 2008, in Newport.
Mrs. Barrup was born July 7, 1930, in St. Johnsbury, a daughter of Harold and Clara (Davis) Turner.
On July 21, 1951, she married
Howard Barrup, who survives her.
She was a telephone operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph for ten years. In 1967 she was a cook and cashier at the North Country Union High School cafeteria until her retirement.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed racing cars; she lead a full and active life.
She held membership with the Vermont Gas and Steam Engine Association; she enjoyed traveling and meeting new friends.
She is survived by three sons: Steven Barrup and his wife, Sue, of Newport Center, Stuart Barrup and his wife, Bonnie, of West Charleston, and Bradley Barrup and his wife, Joann, of Newport; by grandchildren: Melissa, Gretchen, Thomas, and Adam Barrup and Jaime Roy; by two great-granddaughters, Alexis and Ashlyn; by her brother Graydon C. Turner of El Paso, Texas; and by three nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Harold Turner.
A funeral service was held June 17 at a Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport with the Reverend Alfred Nelson officiating. Interment followed in West Charleston cemetery.

Margaret D. Smith
Margaret D. Smith, 82, of Newport died peacefully July 8, 2008, in Newport.
Mrs. Smith was born October 2, 1925, in East Bolton, Quebec, a daughter of Leslie and Persis (Cloe) Wing.
On June 25, 1946, she married
William G. Smith, who predeceased her on April 18, 1986.
She came to Vermont in 1939 and graduated from Newport High School in 1944.
She was employed by the former Eastside Pharmacy and as a short order cook at the former Newport Diner, and she was a receptionist for the Newport Clinic and Garon-St. Sauveur Granite Company of Newport.
She is the beloved mother of William A. Smith and his wife, Linda, of Newport and the dear grandmother of Lisa A. (Smith) Dukett and her husband, Leon, of Derby. She is survived by her brother Lawrence Wing and his wife, Barbara, of Magog, Quebec; by two sisters, Gertrude Stock of Magog and Alice Stone of Austin, Quebec; by sister-in-law Helen Miller of North Troy; and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by half-brother Alton Wing; and by half-sister Mae (Craft) St. Marie.
A graveside service was held July 11 at Pine Grove cemetery in Newport with the Reverend Roger Fletcher officiating.

Beatrice Lussier
Beatrice Lussier, 99, of Newport died peacefully July 12, 2008, in Newport.
She was born on March 2, 1909, in Beebe Plain, Vermont, a daughter of Joel and Marie Louise (Boileau) Lussier.
She was a housekeeper for Father Arthur Hamel for over 50 years and derived great satisfaction in her service to him and their Lord. She also taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes, played the church organ, and enjoyed growing flowers.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and -nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Hubert, Paul, Rene, Florence, Bertha, Martha, Anita, Sr. Theresa, Sr. Jeanne d’ark, Irene, and Germaine.
Funeral services were scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Derby Line with the Reverend Leo Bilodeau celebrating a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow at the Mt. St. Mary’s cemetery in Stanstead, Quebec.

Bernice Ruth “Bunny” Lane
It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Bernice Ruth “Bunny” Lane, 78, of Lowell on July 12, 2008, in Lyndonville.
She was born on August 22, 1929, in Barre, a daughter of George and Ruth (Smith) Lane.
She lived in Montpelier for the first few years of her life and her remaining years in Lowell, except for the last six years in Lyndonville.
She leaves behind a niece, several nephews, and grandnieces and -nephews, as well as extended family members.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Ruth Lane; by two sisters Dorothy LaBarron and Lois Delaney; and by a brother Robert Lane.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Memorial Chapel in Newport with the Reverend David Lisner officiating. Interment will be at the North Branch cemetery in Middlesex at the convenience of the family.

Tony Ray Daniels
Tony Ray Daniels, 30, of Derby died suddenly on July 10, 2008, in Sheldon, Vermont.
He was born February 13, 1978, in Newport, the beloved son of Carolyn (Daniels) Jorgensen. He received his GED and was currently employed by F.R. Lafayette Construction Company of Burlington.
Mr. Daniels loved animals and the elderly. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Jorgensen, and his stepfather Jan Jorgensen of Walnut Cove, North Carolina; by a brother, Travis Royston, and his wife, Rebecca, of Graham, North Carolina; by his grandmother, Doris Daniels of Colebrook, New Hampshire; by his uncle William Daniels Jr. of Colebrook; by his aunts: Betty Washburn of Colebrook, Mary Potter and her husband, Philip, of Colebrook, and Marion Daniels of Manchester, New Hampshire. He is also survived by Jody Royston and family of Lunenburg and by a nephew Cory Royston.
He was predeceased by his grandfather William Daniels Sr. and by a dear sister Tina Royston.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 18 at the First Congregational Church in Island Pond with the Reverend Alan Magoon officiating.

Andrew Leo Aulis
Andrew Leo Aulis, 49, of Brownington died suddenly July 11, 2008, in Newport.
He was born on April 3, 1959, in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He was the fourth son of five sons to Philbert and Marietta (LaFountaine) Aulis.
Mr. Aulis was a painter for R.J. McAuliffe Painting Company in Lowell, Massachusetts, for many years. He held memberships with the Moose Lodge # 527 of Bellows Falls. He enjoyed fishing, camping and boating. He is survived by his children: Sherry Chase and her husband, Brent, of Barre; Amanda and Aaron Aulis of Brattleboro; and by three grandchildren: Kaleb Andrew Aulis, Cassidy Bernier, and Derrick Chase. He is also survived by four brothers: Arthur Aulis and his wife, Jackie, of Newport, Michael Aulis and his wife, Joanne, of Franklin, New Hampshire, Gerard Aulis and his wife, Donna, of Northfield, New Hampshire, and Paul Aulis of Barre. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, his companion Kim Larid and her son Randy of Brownington and his former wife Vicky Winchester of Brattleboro.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday July 17, with the Reverend Laurence Wall officiating. Interment will take place in Derby cemetery.

Janice M. Swanson Dewing
A memorial service for Janice M. Swanson Dewing who died January 13, 2008, in Inverness, Florida, will be held July 19 at the Orleans Federated Church at 11 a.m. The Reverend Carol J. Borland will officiate.
Frances Ruth Terrien
Frances Ruth Terrien, 84, of Sutton, died on July 11, 2008, at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
She was born February 18, 1924, in Barton a daughter of Charles and Bernice (Martin) Bickford.
On March 2, 1968, she married
Dave Terrien, who survives her.
She was a cabinet assembler for Ethan Allen Manufacturing in Orleans, retiring July of 1990 after 37 years of service.
She was a member of Taking Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) and achieved KOPS status for the past 13 years. She displayed many of her arts and crafts at the Floral Hall during the Orleans County Fair. She loved dancing and sewing, and she made many items for her family. She also loved hosting family gatherings. She and her husband loved to travel, spending lots of time in Florida, and driving across the country to Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Terrien, of Sutton, and by her children: Raymond Dewing and his wife, Frances, of Orleans, Benita Pray and her companion, JuniorBurclaff, of Barton, and Terry Dewing and his wife, Bonnie, of Orleans; by a stepdaughter Linda Coles of Texas; by grandchildren, Bernadette and James Dewing, Sean and Scott Pray, Shannon Mead, Linsay and Annamarie Burclaff, and Kevin Dewing; and by step grandchildren, Robert, Stuart, Sherri, Shawn, Raymond Bowen Jr., and Rhonda Howard; and by 16 great-grandchildren; and by a sister Barbara Stetson of Bradenton, Florida.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Glendon Bickford.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 18, at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Barton with the Reverend Roger Fletcher officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Friday.
