Viva A. Whitney
SOUTH ROYALTON — The funeral service for Viva Alice Dodge Whitney, 97, who died Feb. 10, 2003, will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the South Tunbridge Methodist Church with the Rev. David Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Branchview cemetery in South Royalton.
The family suggests planting a tree in Mrs. Whitney’s memory in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea.
Yolanda A. Anderson
ROCHESTER — The graveside service for Yolanda A. Anderson, 77, who died Nov. 30, 2002, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Woodlawn cemetery in Rochester with the Rev. William Daniels officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
Raymond N. Bashaw Rites
SPRINGFIELD — The graveside service for Raymond N. Bashaw, 66, who died June 19, 2003, was held Monday in Oakland cemetery in Springfield. The Rev. Dana Longever, pastor of the Springfield Assembly of God Church, officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel.
Theresa M. Grant Rites
BENNINGTON — The funeral Mass for Theresa M. Grant, who died June 20, 2003, was celebrated Monday at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church with the Rev. Vincent Coppola, associate pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Park Lawn cemetery.
Organist was Donald McMahon and soloist was Monica Murray.
Bearers were Christopher Marceau, Robert Moriarty Jr., Steven Grant, Carl Amick, John Amick and Steven Amick.
A prayer service preceded the funeral Mass at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
The wake service was offered Sunday at the funeral home.
A reception was held for family and friends at the Bennington Station restaurant following the service.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
William G. Selleck
WEYBRIDGE — William George Selleck, 67, died June 23, 2003.
He was born Oct. 12, 1935, in Middlebury, the son of Arthur and Clara (Hope) Selleck.
He was the owner and operator of W.G. Sales and Weybridge Plumbing and Heating. He was a master plumber and electrician. He later worked for the Ames department store in Middlebury.
Mr. Selleck served with the military in the Reserves for 26 years.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Middlebury and the Knights of Columbus Council 642. He was also a member of American Legion Post 27 in Middlebury, the Army Retiree Council of Vermont, the Robert Frost Senior Citizens Club, and a former member of the Weybridge Fire Department. He was a volunteer for RSVP and Porter Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Greta (Shackett) Selleck of Weybridge; three sons, Roy of Burlington, Bryan of Weybridge and Jeff of Shoreham; two brothers, Ronald Selleck and James Selleck, both of Middlebury; a sister, Alice Sumner of Bristol; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Middlebury. Burial will follow in Middlebury cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Friends, however, are welcome to visit at the family’s home in Weybridge.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 504, Middlebury, 05753, or St. Mary’s School, 86 Shannon St., Middlebury, 05753.

Robert H. Jerome
VERGENNES — Robert Henry Jerome, 63, died June 23, 2003, at Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury.
He was born July 26, 1939, in Panton, the son of Loyal and Louise (Abbey) Jerome.
He married
Betty Lavalette on May 21, 1960, in Charlotte. She died in 2000.
He worked at Simmons Precision and Northland Job Corps for many years after his retirement from the military.
Mr. Jerome was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea, Vietnam and Germany, and in several states, retiring in 1983 after 23 years of active duty.
He was a member of American Legion Post 14 in Vergennes and the Middlebury Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He enjoyed dancing.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Deimel; a brother, Rodney Jerome of Leicester; two sisters, Mabel Norris of Starksboro and Ella Hoague of Panton; two grandsons; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. Burial will follow in Kent cemetery in Panton.
There will be no calling hours.

Sanford Robinson Jr.
EAST ROXBURY — Sanford Robinson Jr., 80, died June 16, 2003, at Central Vermont Hospital.
He was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Greenwich, Conn., the son of Sanford and Ruth (Edson) Robinson.
Mr. Robinson graduated from Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts. He received his bachelor’s degree from Williams College in 1948 and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
He married
Justine Arata on Sept. 11, 1942.
He taught at Brunswick School in Greenwich and Darien High School in Darien, Conn. Mr. Robinson was active in coaching soccer, hockey and tennis, and was named the 1967 Coach of the Year in hockey. He also taught languages at Randolph Union High School until 1978. He was a ski patrol director at the Norwich University ski area for more than 20 years. After the ski area closed, he served on the National Ski Patrol as section chief of north-central Vermont and regional director.
Mr. Robinson served in the European Theater during World War II. He joined the Army Signal Corps as a cryptographer and participated in five campaigns, including Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a deacon at the United Church of Christ and served as chairman of the Men’s Fellowship of Southern Connecticut.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Janice Robinson of Orient Point, N.Y., Nancy Robinson of Springfield, Susan Irwin of Middlesex and Lucinda Tague of North Adams, Mass.; a son, Sanford Robinson of West Brookfield; a sister, Ruth Goodwin of Peterborough, N.H.; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Priscilla Thompson of Williamstown, Mass., Jane Chester of Manchester and Virginia Munn of West Palm Beach, Fla.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
G. Holden McKeighan
SALEM, N.Y. — G. Holden McKeighan, 81, died June 23, 2003, at Saratoga Hospital.
He was born Jan. 8, 1922, in Rupert, Vt., the son of Frank and Ruth (Nelson) McKeighan.
He attended a one-room schoolhouse in Rupert.
He worked on Hank’s Farm in Salem for 18 years and the town of Salem Highway Department, retiring in 1985.
Mr. McKeighan enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and making homemade dandelion and rhubarb wine.
Survivors include his wife, Winifred (Beattie) McKeigham of Salem; two daughters, Patricia Williams of Salem and Connie McKeighan of Bennington, Vt.; three sons, David McKeighan of Hudson Falls, Terrance McKeighan of Salem and Timothy McKeighan of Estelline, S.D.; a brother, Ely McKeighan of Salem; four sisters, Martha McNeil of Salem, Agnes Braymer and Doris Ray, both of Rupert, Vt., and Flora Franklin of Vergennes, Vt.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a son, Franklin McKeighan; two brothers, Sterling McKeighan and Nelson McKeighan; and a grandson.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Rupert (Vt.) United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Rupert cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McClellan Funeral Home in Salem.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad, East Broadway, Salem, 12865.
Arrangements are under the direction of the McClellan Funeral Home in Salem.
Margaret L. Stone
BROOKFIELD — The graveside service for Margaret L. Stone, 86, who died Feb. 3, 2003, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Brookfield Village cemetery with the Rev. Robert Morris officiating.
A reception will be held at the Brookfield First Congregational Church following the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
E. Paul Hood Jr.
E. Paul Hood Jr., 79, of Rutland, died unexpectedly, July 14, 2003, in Rutland, Vt.
Born in Scotia, N.Y., February 19, 1924, the son of Edward P. and Lucretia (Ryan) Parkhurst.
Mr. Hood was a Veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1946 in the U.S. Navy as a deep-sea salvage diver.
Later, he was employed as the chief engineer at the Rutland Regional Medical Center from 1958 until his retirement in 1985.
Mr. Hood was a member of the Rutland Country Club, the Rutland Elks Club, and the American Legion Post 31. In addition, he served on the board of the Vermont Achievement Center.
His interests included hunting, fishing and golfing.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara (Seward) Hood of Rutland, and four daughters, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The four girls and their families are, Sally Shortsleeve of Rutland, her daughter, Adrienne Baker and her son, Joseph Baker of Colchester, Vt.; another daughter, Becky Pell and her husband Jim of Rutland, and their children, Bryan Pell of Hubbardton, Vt., Michael Pell of Rutland, and Amy Voorhees and her son, Conner of Crofton, Md.; a third daughter, Claire Austin and her husband Kevin and her sons, David Savage and Jesse Savage, his two daughters, Hannah and Dakota, all of Rutland; and a fourth daughter, Kathy Wall of South Burlington and her children, Jackie Fucci of Boston, Mass., and Marc Fucci of Dania, Florida.
Also surviving are his nephews, Thomas Neary of North Clarendon, David Neary of Highland Heights, Kentucky, Robert Neary of Rutland; nieces, Kathy Neary of Dahlstrom Barbersville, Virginia, Susan Miglorie of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Neary.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
There are no visiting hours.
