Elaine B. Keinonen
BRANDON — Elaine Blanche Keinonen, 79, died June 12, 2003, at her daughter’s home in Brandon.
Mrs. Keinonen was born in Goshen on Oct. 4, 1923, the daughter of Leo and Genevieve (Yattaw) Hayes.
She received her early education in Goshen schools and attended Vergennes High School.
She married
Waldo Keinonen in Forest Dale on Aug. 31, 1940. He died in 1990.
The Keinonens made their home in Bristol, Conn.
Mrs. Keinonen worked at Sessions Clock Manufacturing Co. in Forestville, Conn., for more than 22 years. She and her husband retired to Florence in 1972.
She enjoyed fishing and cooking.
Survivors include three daughters, Marie Belanger of Springfield, Mass., Barbara Scoskie of Barnard and Linda Cummings of Brandon, with whom she made her home; a son, Waldo Keinonen of Rutland; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Leo Hayes Jr.; and four sisters, Blossom Hayes, Genevieve Parker, Marion Hayes and Myrtle Hornbeck.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Brandon Congregational Church. The Rev. Richard White, pastor, will officiate. The graveside committal service and burial will follow in Evergreen cemetery in Pittsford.
Friends may call at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Paul A. Moulton
COLCHESTER — Paul A. Moulton, 73, died June 13, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
He was born in North Clarendon on June 5, 1930, the son of Leon and Alice (Tousignant) Moulton.
He graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1948.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and then, upon his discharge, enlisted in the Air Force, where he served until retirement.
He married
Mildred Pelkey on June 21, 1951, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Rutland.
He received his associate’s degree in 1978. He worked for Piper Aircraft as a mechanical engineer, retiring in 1985.
Following retirement, he divided his time between his home in Lakeland, Fla., in the winter and the Lone Pine Campground in Colchester in the summer.
He is survived by a daughter, Teesh Moulton of Milton; a son, Mike Moulton of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Doris Donahue of North Clarendon and Lorraine Lee of Lakeland, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife in 1999 and two sisters, Jean Shewell and Joyce Shackett.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Minor Funeral home in Milton with the Rev. John Feltz officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s cemetery in Rutland at 3 p.m. with the Rev Madison offering committal prayers.

June Noble Rites
The memorial service for June H. Noble, 78, of Rutland and Naples, Fla., who died Jan. 1, 2003, was held Saturday at the chapel of Grace Congregational United Church of Christ. The Rev. Robert B. Curry, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery with the Rev. Curry offering the committal prayers.
Organist was Diane Chartrand. Soloist was Kyle Moe.
The Tossing Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Gordon S. Patterson Rites
A graveside service for Gordon S. Patterson, 75, of Rutland, who died April 4, 2003, was held Saturday in St. Joseph cemetery in Bristol.
The Rev. Pierre Lavalee, pastor of St. Ambrose Church in Bristol, officiated.
The Clifford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bertle and Mary Johnson Rites
The memorial service for Bertle P. “Shorty” Johnson, 83, of Rutland, who died April 25, 2003, was held Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The Rev. Sharon Hughes, pastor, officiated.
Music was provided by Morton Gold, Maresa Bowen and Elizabeth Stevens.
Bertle Johnson and Mary Johnson, his wife, were buried in Evergreen cemetery. The Rev. Hughes offered the committal prayers.

Gary L. Bechtel
BENNINGTON — Gary L. Bechtel, 72, died June 15, 2003.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
Arnold Gordon
BENNINGTON — Arnold “Arnie” Gordon, 76, died June 13, 2003, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation following a battle with cancer.
He was born in Boston, Nov. 27, 1926, the son of Edward and Leah (Rohstein) Gordon.
He graduated from Brighton (Mass.) High School.
As a young adult in Boston he played the piano professionally. He also waited on tables in his uncle’s restaurant and in the Catskill Mountains in the summers.
He moved to Miami, Fla., working for some hotels there before opening his own restaurant in Miami Beach. He became a real estate agent and broker, and opened a real estate agency in Miami.
He and his family moved to Bennington in 1992. He passed his Vermont real estate exam at age 70, but soon after became ill.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Gordon of Bennington; a son, Ron Gordon, of Bennington; a sister, Beryl Waronker of Fernandino Beach, Fla.; and cousins.
A graveside service will be held today at 11 a.m. with Rabbi Howard Cohen of Beth El Congregation officiating.
There will be no calling hours.

John Neronsky
SPRINGFIELD — John Neronsky, 87, died June 15, 2003, at Cedar Hill Health Care Center in Windsor.
He was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Springfield, the son of Nester and Barbara (Kousenovich) Neronsky.
He graduated from Springfield High School.
He married
Helen Litevich on Sept. 19, 1939, in Springfield. She died in 1995.
He worked for Jones and Lamson Machine Tool Co. for 27 years as a sales engineer. He later worked for the Fellows Gear Shaper Co. for 12 years, retiring in 1976. After retirement, he worked for the International Executive Service Corps for several years, traveling around the world. He retired to the Brighton, N.Y., area for many years and returned to Springfield in 1987.
He was a member of the Springfield Elks Lodge and the Hitormis Club. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include a brother, Raymond Neronsky of Springfield; two sisters, Olga Bedi and Lana Dexter, both of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Mitchell Neronsky and Nicholas Neronsky.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Davis Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Peter Carmichael, rector of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, officiating.
Friends may call at the Davis Chapel on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Frank Shaffer
WILMINGTON — Frank Shaffer, 79, died June 13, 2003, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 30, 1924, the son of Isadore and Freida (Rosenfeld) Shaffer.
He married
Syma Marowits on Dec. 12, 1965, in Montreal. They had lived on Long Island for many years before moving to Wilmington five years ago.
Mr. Shaffer worked in New York’s diamond district in sales and management. While living on Long Island, he was president of the South Hampton Civic Association.
He enjoyed theater, opera and golf.
Survivors include his wife of Wilmington; a son, Joshua Shaffer of Long Island; a daughter, Marla Ulrich of Saugerties, N.Y.; and two grandsons.
He was predeceased by a brother.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Riverview cemetery in Wilmington.

SPRINGFIELD — A graveside funeral service for Dolores M. Amaya, 83, who died May 19, 2003, was held Saturday in Pine Grove cemetery in North Springfield. The Rev. Richard Cederholm, pastor of the North Springfield Baptist Church, officiated.
The Davis Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Barbara Chess Rites
SPRINGFIELD — A funeral service for Barbara J. Chess, 50, who died June 10, 2003, was held Saturday in the Davis Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Raymond Fournier, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church in Chester, officiated. Burial followed in Riverside cemetery in Lincoln, N.H.

Marion Nelson Rites
BENNINGTON — A memorial service for Marion E. F. Nelson, 90, who died June 10, 2003, was held Saturday at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Penny Rich-Smith, pastor of the North Bennington Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will take place in the family lot in Hope cemetery in Worcester, Mass.
Survivors also include two stepsons, Douglas Nelson of Barnet and Raymond Cain of Universal City, Ariz.; and a stepdaughter, Laurie Cain of Morgan.
