Wallace Sileski
BELLOWS FALLS - Wallace Sileski, 72, died Nov. 6, 2000, at the Springfield Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Aug. 16, 1928, in North Walpole, N.H., son of Kostanti and Jadwiga (Piluski) Sileski.
He graduated from Bellows Falls High School in 1947.
Mr. Sileski married
Barbara Jean Ward on July 26, 1958, at Sacred Heart Church in Bellows Falls.
He worked as a machinist for Bryant Chuck and Grinder in Springfield, retiring in 1990.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Sileski was a member of the American Legion Post 37 in Bellows Falls and St. Charles Church.
He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of Bellows Falls; a son, Paul Edward Sileski of St. Johnsbury Center; a daughter, Debra Jean Cheslock of Elkton, Md.; two brothers, James Edward Sileski of Niwot, Colo., and Richard Sileski of Bellows Falls; five sisters, Amelia Clark and Alexandra LaFlam, both of Essex Junction, Pauline Kissell of Westminster, Helen Cray of Bellows Falls and Mary Davis of Nagatuck, Conn.; and two grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church in Bellows Falls by the Rev. Brian Mead. Burial will follow in Oak Hill cemetery in Bellows Falls.
Calling hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls.
Contributions may be made to the Statue of Blessed Mother Fund, in care of St. Charles Church, Cherry Hill, Bellows Falls, 05105.
Virginia Szirbik
DORSET - Family and friends of Virginia Szirbik, 71, a longtime resident of Dorset, who died Nov. 5, 2000, in Bennington, will gather Friday at 11 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Avenue, in Hamden, Conn., for a short prayer service. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park in Hamden.
A wake service will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Funeral Home.

Roger V. Dorpel
BURLINGTON - Roger Vanden Dorpel, 50, of Chapel Hill, N.C., died Oct. 31, 2000, in a fire that destroyed his apartment home and complex, in Chapel Hill, N.C.
He was the son of Neil Vanden Dorpel, formerly of Wyckoff, N.J., now of Bonita Bay, Fla., and was a longtime resident of Wyckoff and Clifton, N.J. He had lived in Burlington from 1989 until 1997.
He graduated from Eastern Christian High School in 1969, where he earned varsity letters in Basketball and tennis. Mr. Dorpel earned a bachelor's of science degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa in 1972, graduated from the Panzer School of Physical Education at Montclair State University and the Rutland Regional Medical Center's School of Radiologic Technology.
Mr. Dorpel worked as a radiologic technologist at the University of North Carolina Hospitals and was an accredited member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. He previously worked for Fox-Wells and Company in New York and for Campus Sportswear Inc. in Paramus, N.J., as a sales service manager. He also served as a history and physical education teacher in the Park Ridge and Midland Park, N.J., public school systems. Mr. Dorpel moved from New Jersey to Vermont in 1989 and worked in several sales positions prior to becoming a radiologic technologist.
He was an accomplished skier and cyclist, a senior member of the National Ski Patrol, an active member of the Killington/Pico Cycling Club in Vermont and the TarWheels Cycling Club of North Carolina. The TarWheels will hold a memorial race for Mr. Dorpel on Dec. 16. He also was a member of the United Church of Chapel Hill and a previous member of the First Congregational Church of Essex Junction.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Jacqueline McDonald, both of Bonita Bay, Fla.; a brother, Ronald Vanden Dorpel of Evanston, Ill.; three uncles; and two aunts.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wycoff, N.J. Burial will follow in the Wyckoff Reformed Church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a buffet luncheon in the Fellowship Hall of the Second Reformed Church of Wyckoff, 475 Russell Ave., Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
Visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home.
Contributions may be made to the Christian Healthcare Center of Wyckoff or to a favorite charity.
Peter H. Fox
PITTSFORD - Peter H. Fox, 76, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington after a short illness.
Mr. Fox was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Pittsford, the son of John H and Lillian (Fredette) Fox.
He was a graduate of Pittsford High School and a lifelong resident of Pittsford.
He was employed by the Vermont Marble Company as a stone carver.
Mr. Fox was an avid New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
He was a member of St. Alphonsus Church.
He is survived by two sons, Peter H. Fox Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., and John Fox of Pittsford; four daughters, Barbara Willis, Mary Lynn Fox and Heidi Fox, all of Pittsford, and Laurie Hemple of Florence; 10 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1980; by a son David this year, and by six brothers and sisters.
Friends may call Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church in Pittsford.
Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow at St. Alphonsus Church Hall.

Michael Kapitan
Michael Kapitan, 76, of Rutland Town, died unexpectedly Nov. 26, 2000, at his home.
Funeral services are pending at Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
Mary C. Russell Rites
A funeral service for Mary C. Russell, 88, of Rutland, who died Nov. 21, 2000, was held Nov. 25 at Tossing Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Chadwick, of North Clarendon, officiating.
Words of remembrance were read by Dr. James Russell.
Organist was James Cassarino.
Burial will take place at a later date in Evergreen cemetery.
Ruth D. Robbins
WALLINGFORD - Ruth D. Robbins, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Wallingford, Dec. 24, 1917, the daughter of William and Ina (Allen) Delphia.
She was a seamstress at Poultney Dress Factory, Dick's Dress Shop and Vermont Contract Finishers.
Mrs. Robbins was a member of the Baptist Church and the Rebekah Club, both in Wallingford.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred A. Robbins of Wallingford; a son, Dennis Reynolds Sr. of Springfield, Tenn.; a daughter, Bonnie Fish of Rutland; a sister, Hazel Kearney of Rutland; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and four nieces.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Earl M. Reynolds, who died in 1968.
There are no calling hours.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 1 p.m. in Wallingford Baptist Church. Burial will follow in East Clarendon cemetery.

James L. Morgan
James L. Morgan, 69, of Rutland died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Rutland Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Stanley T. Aunchman
CASTLETON - Stanley Thomas Aunchman, 76, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Newark, N.J., on Sept. 26, 1924, the son of Leon and Catherine (Burke) Aunchman.
He received his early education in Newark schools.
He married
Joan O'Boyle in 1970 in New York City.
He was a veteran of World War II. He served in the United States Army in the invasions of North Africa and Italy. Following an honorable discharge, he worked for Century Exterminators in Brooklyn, N.Y. He worked in the extermination field for 42 years. Upon retirement in 1989, he moved from Regal Park, N.Y., to Vermont.
Survivors include his wife of Castleton; two sons, Michael Clohessy of Regal Park and John Clohessy of New York City; two daughters, Joanne Fusco of Massapeque, N.Y., and Randy Valli of Calabasas, Calif.; two sisters, Rita Holden of Mesa, Ariz., and Barbara Carpenter of Spring Valley, Ark.; two brothers, Gerald Aunchman of Tuscon, Ariz., and Allen Aunchman of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister, Helene Bullock.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Orwell with the Rev. Robert McKnight, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Genevieve cemetery in Shoreham.

E. Margaret Williams
SUDBURY - E. Margaret "Peg" Williams, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Williams was born in Churubusco, N.Y., April 21, 1917, the daughter of William and Josephine (DeMarse) Rufiange.
She received her early education in South Hero Schools. She moved with her family to Brandon in the 1930s.
She married
Theron W. Williams in 1938 in Brandon. She was a housewife and a homemaker. Mrs. Williams was a resident of Sudbury since 1938.
In earlier years, she was a member of the Sudbury Parent-Teacher Association, Sudbury Ladies Circle and Brandon Congregational Church.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas W. Williams of Brandon and John R. Williams of Sudbury; a daughter, Barbara Riley of Succasuanna, N.J.; a sister, Frances Bullock of Bristol; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1995 and by two brothers, John and Louis Rufiange.
