Theodore C. Williams
BRISTOL — Theodore Chester Williams, 74, died May 28, 2003, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
He was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Starksboro, the son of Chester and Ruth (LaFayette) Williams.
He was a pilot for Joe Rock for several years.
Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of American Legion Post 19 in Bristol.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Bristol of Burlington; two brothers, Allan Williams of Ferrisburgh and David Williams of Bristol; two sisters, Mary Levarn of Lincoln and Bertha Dolan of Brandon; a grandson and granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Burial will follow in Greenwood cemetery in Bristol.
Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Rescue Squad, Bristol, 05443.

Stephen M. Mazzariello Rites
The funeral Mass for Stephen M. Mazzariello, 51, of Rutland, who died May 26, 2003, was celebrated Friday at St. Peter’s Church.
The Rev. Raymond Giroux, a former longtime pastor of St. Peter’s Church, officiated. Concelebrant was Brother James Moran, deacon at St. Peter’s Church. Burial followed in Calvary cemetery.
Organist was John Riddle. Soloists were Carl Mazzariello, a brother, and Elise Cassarino.
Bearers were Michael Mazzariello, Jack DiPalma, Tom DiPalma, Bill Mazzariello, David Mazzariello, John Johnson, Tony Mazzariello, Samuel Hooker, T.J. Hooker, Ernie Wright, Steve Blongy and Jim Polcaro.
A prayer service was held Thursday at the Clifford Funeral Home by Brother James Moran.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home.
Ralph P. Muscatello Sr.
Ralph P. Muscatello Sr., 72, died May 29, 2003, at his home.
He was born April 25, 1931, in Rutland, the son of Joseph and Betty (Martin) Muscatello.
He graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1949 and attended Cornell University.
He worked for the Rutland City Police Department for 10 years, and later for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 27 years, retiring in 1990.
Mr. Muscatello was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of American Legion Post 31 of Rutland.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis (Santwire) Muscatello of Rutland; two sons, Ralph Muscatello Jr. of San Diego, Calif., and James Muscatello of Mendon; a daughter, Renee Muscatello of Rutland; three brothers, Joseph Muscatello of Rutland Town, Peter Muscatello of Rutland and Martin Muscatello of Chittenden; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service.

Stanley B. Kulig
WEST RUTLAND — Stanley B. Kulig, 76, died May 29, 2003, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 3, 1926, in West Rutland, the son of John and Agnes (Tomczyk) Kulig.
He graduated from West Rutland High School.
He married
Celia Godleski on Oct. 18, 1952, in West Rutland.
Mr. Kulig worked at General Electric Co., retiring years ago.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran, serving during World War II.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, the Holy Name Society of St. Stanislaus Church and St. Michael’s Society. He was a member of the Polish American Club, the Moose Club, American Legion Post 87 and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of West Rutland; two sons, Paul Kulig of West Rutland and Raymond Kulig of West Canaan, N.H.; a daughter, Martha Kulig of Minneapolis, Minn.; three brothers, Frank Kulig, Joseph Kulig and Walter Kulig of West Rutland; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Rosmus; and two brothers, John Kulig and Leo Kulig.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in West Rutland with the Rev. Frank Warzocha, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mullin-Clifford Funeral Home in West Rutland.

James B. Warner
POULTNEY — James B. Warner, 68, of Wells, and a former resident of Connecticut and Missouri, died May 30, 2003, at Haven Health Care Center in Rutland.
He was born Aug. 4, 1934, in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of Henry and Ann (VanDien) Warner.
He married
Joan Tilloson on Oct. 24, 1964.
Mr. Warner restored player pianos and organs.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Owensville, Mo.
Survivors include a brother, David Warner of Wells; aunts and uncles; two nieces and one nephew.
He was predeceased by his wife.
The funeral service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Owensville (Mo.) cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
Joseph M. Bizon
NORTH CHITTENDEN — The graveside service for Joseph M. Bizon, 61, who died Jan. 2, 2003, will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus cemetery in West Rutland.
The Rev. Frank Warzocka, pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in West Rutland, will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
Adriel S. Gates Rites
PITTSFORD — The funeral service for Adriel S. Gates, 86, who died May 24, 2003, was held Friday at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford with the Rev. Ruth Hill, pastor of Pittsford Congregational Church, officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen cemetery in Pittsford.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
Henry J. Slater Sr. Rites
SHREWSBURY — A prayer service for Henry J. Slater Sr., 49, who died May 26, 2003, was held Friday at the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
The Rev. Donald Caskie, pastor of the Congregational Church in Wallingford, officiated.
American Legion Post 31 of Rutland provided military honors. Jack Allen made the flag presentation.

Rose A. Powers
MARLBORO — Rose Ann Powers, 57, died May 29, 2003, at Knapp Farm in Wardsboro with leukemia.
She was born July 28, 1945, in Wardsboro, the daughter of Ira and Ora (Atwood) Knapp.
She graduated from Leland and Grey Seminary.
She married
Carlton Powers on April 3, 1965, in Brattleboro. He died in 1998.
Mrs. Powers worked at the Book Press, Dunham’s and Famolare Shoe Factory and most recently, at the Gathering Place and the Brattleboro Retreat, all in Brattleboro.
She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, and helping others.
Survivors include two brothers, James Knapp and Ira Knapp, both of Wardsboro; a sister, Yvonne Lowe of Bradley, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral service.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Windham County Humane Society, 916 West River Road, Brattleboro, 05301.

BRATTLEBORO — The funeral Mass for Kleoniki “Niki” Patterson, who died Nov. 24, 2002, will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the new St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church.
The Rev. Nicholas Zervakis, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Morningside cemetery.

SPRINGFIELD — The graveside service for Harriet L. Willard, 84, who died March 1, 2003, was held Friday in St. Mary’s cemetery in Springfield.
The Rev. Raymond Fournier, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church in Chester, officiated.

Margaret G. Lilley Rites
SPRINGFIELD — The graveside service for Margaret G. Lilley, 86, who died Jan. 28, 2003, was held Friday in East Craftsbury cemetery with the Rev. Michael Augustowitz of Hardwick officiating.
