Katheryn Jacobs Rites
SPRINGFIELD — A funeral service for Katheryn S. Jacobs, 53, who died April 15, 2003, was held Saturday in the Church of Christ in Springfield.
Jim Bartley of Springfield officiated. Burial followed in Oakland cemetery.
Bearers were Seth Jacobs, Jack Forrest, Don Bromley, Rick Hebert, Frank Torres and Dan Nichols.
Davis Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy M. Dutton
LEICESTER — Dorothy Margaret Dutton, 73, died April 18, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
She was born in Addison on May 23, 1929, the daughter of Frank and Mary Johnson. She received her early education in Brandon schools.
She married
Archie Dutton in Leicester Oct. 27, 1948. He died in 1963.
Mrs. Dutton worked for many years in the Office of Economic Development. She was forced to retire due to a disability in 1975. During the 1960s she operated Blossom’s Restaurant in Leicester.
She enjoyed reading.
Survivors include three sons, Ron Dutton, Richard Dutton and William Dutton, all of Leicester; three daughters, Cookie Blake of Leicester, “Tossie” Hemingway of Brandon and Laurie Ellis of Salisbury; a brother, James DeWire of Sanford, Fla.; two half-brothers, Eugene Eber and Wilbur Eber, both of Trenton, Fla.; a half-sister, Frances Allaire of Brandon; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Curtis Dutton; four brothers, and five sisters.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The Rev. Paul Jackson will officiate. A private graveside committal service and burial will follow at Brookside cemetery in Leicester.
Following the service the family will receive friends at the Leicester Town Hall .

Gladys E. Baccei
Gladys E. Baccei, 94, of Rutland, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Eden Park Nursing Home in Rutland.
Gladys was born on October 26, 1908, in Proctor, the daughter of Charles and Sophia (Johnson) Hood.
Mrs. Baccei was a graduate of Proctor High School class of 1926 and was active in high school drama and the Proctor Players Club.
She was a member of the Union Church of Proctor, the Scandinavian Fraternity of America, AARP, and National Council of Senior Citizens.
She was formerly employed by the Cooperative Store, the Vermont Marble Co., and the Ormsbee House, a home for handicapped children, all in Proctor, and Killington Manufacturing in Rutland.
Gladys married
Bruno C. Baccei, a former Proctor Town Clerk, on April 28, 1930. They resided in Proctor until 1974 at which time they moved to Rutland. Bruno predeceased her on October 19, 1986.
She is survived by one son, Bruce and his wife Jean Baccei of Proctor; one grandson, David and his wife Karen Baccei of Ferrisburgh and a granddaughter, Kimberley Baccei of Proctor; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in South Street cemetery in Proctor, followed by a memorial service at the Union Church of Proctor at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Union Church of Proctor, 72 High Street, Proctor, Vermont, 05765.

Edward J. Woodbury
SUDBURY — Edward James Woodbury, 63, died May 9, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Mallory Funeral Home in Fair Haven.
Carol Ann VanGuilder
WHITEHALL, N.Y. — Surrounded by her family, Carol Ann VanGuilder, 61, passed into the arms of the Lord at her home in Whitehall, New York on Friday morning, May 9, 2003.
Carol was born in Low Hampton, New York on May 14, 1941, the daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle (Munger) Crawley. She was educated in the Fair Haven school system and graduated from Fair Haven High School with the Class of 1959.
She was employed at the Staco Thermometer factory in Poultney for a total of nine years and later as a machine operator for the Aircraft Engine Division of General Electric Company in Rutland for several years, retiring due to her illness.
Carol is survived by her five children, Diane Wescott, John VanGuilder and Jeffrey VanGuilder, all of Whitehall, New York, Michael VanGuilder of Saginaw, Michigan and Keith VanGuilder of Tinmouth, Vermont. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Kilburn of Fair Haven, Vermont, her niece, Sally Corey and nephew, Robert Kilburn of Fair Haven, Vermont, her great-niece, Denise Navarrete and her great-great-nephew, Jesse Navarrete.
There will be no visiting hours.
Graveside Memorial Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at 10 a.m. in Cedar Grove cemetery in Fair Haven, Vt. The Rev. Richard W. Tinney, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Fair Haven, will officiate.
Memorial Contributions in memory of Carol may be given to the Rutland County Humane Society through the office of the Durfee Funeral Home, P.O. Box 86, Fair Haven, Vt., 05743.

BRANDON — The graveside service for Henrietta Ellen Johnson, 84, who died Jan. 26, 2003, was held Friday in Pine Hill cemetery in Brandon with the Rev. Diana Scholl, chaplain at Porter Hospital in Middlebury, officiating.
The family received friends at the home of son Craig Johnson for a time of fellowship and reflection following the service.

SUDBURY — A private graveside service for Betty Jean Fortier, 80, who died March 15, 2003, was held Friday in Pine Hill cemetery in Brandon.

EAST ARLINGTON — Kay L. Wright, 55, died May 9, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

Mabel S. Davis
BENNINGTON — Mabel Sophia Davis, 93, died May 8, 2003, at Crescent Manor Care Centers.
She was born March 17, 1910, in Landgrove, the daughter of Charles and Nancy (Harmon) Davis.
She attended the Maple Grove Schoolhouse in Pownal, and after school hours she did janitorial work in the schoolhouse.
She retired from Ben-Mont Paper Co. where she had worked for 49 years.
Miss Davis was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
She enjoyed spending time at camp in Woodford Hollow and the beach.
Survivors include a sister, Clara Van of Bennington; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her companion, Alyce Baker; three brothers, Walter, Lewis and Oran Davis; and two sisters, Etta Goodwin and Cora Betit, who died in 2001.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Park Lawn cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center or Alzheimer’s Association-Vermont Chapter, in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 957, Bennington, 05201.
