Edward C. Lormon Sr.
Edward C. Lormon Sr., 61, died April 19, 2003, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born in Rutland Feb. 21, 1942, the son of Benedict and Dorothy (Scruton) Lormon. A lifelong resident of Rutland, he graduated from Rutland High School in 1961.
He worked for General Electric Co. for 31 years before his retirement in 1997.
He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Mr. Lorman loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the West Rutland All Terrain Vehicle Riding Club, VASA, and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Erica Balestra of Rutland; a son, Edward Lorman Jr. of Rutland; his mother of Rutland; his companion, Joan Briggs of Rutland; a brother, Paul Lorman of Rutland; a half-sister, Effie Cole of Vergennes; four grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is pending under the direction of the Aldous Funeral Home.

Tonya M. Hilliker
GLENS FALLS, N.Y. — Tonya M. Hilliker, 27, died April 19, 2003, as the result of an auto-pedestrian accident on South Street in Glens Falls, N.Y.
She was born April 10, 1976, in Rutland, Vt., the daughter of Paul and Vickie (Garvey) Hilliker Sr.
She was a 1995 graduate of Granville High School,
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Paul Sr. and Darlene Hilliker, of Manchester, N.H.; her mother and stepfather, Vickie and Gaylord Demers of North Granville; her paternal grandparents, George and Lue Brosseau of Blissville, Vt.; her maternal grandmother, Evangeline Garvey of North Granville, N.Y.; two sons, Bret Hilliker of North Granville and Marcus Hilliker of North Clarendon, Vt.; a brother, Paul Hilliker of Granville; two sisters, Mary Santini of Fair Haven, Vt., and Theresa Landon of Glens Falls; a stepbrother, Richard Demers of North Clarendon, Vt.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also survived by her fiancée, Justin Hoyt of Glens Falls.
A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mettowee Valley cemetery in Granville. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Evergreen Bank in a fund for her children.
John Benincasa
Funeral services for John Benincasa, 73, of Rutland, who died April 17, 2003, at his home, will be held today at 3 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church.
Visiting hours will be held today from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home.

Laurance F. Noe
Laurance Frances Noe, 87, of Rutland died April 19, 2003, at Haven Health Care Center.
She was born in Proctor Sept. 19, 1915, the daughter of Irvin and Emma (Fredette) Noe.
Miss Noe was a graduate of Rutland High School.
She was a secretary with the Vermont Tuberculosis and Health Association.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Church and the Legion of Mary. She was a foster grandmother.
Survivors include a sister, Cecelia Jensen of Clarendon Springs; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by five sisters, Bernice Noe, Bertha Noe, Ethel Erwin, Corrine King and Emma Erwin.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church in Rutland with the Rev. W. Andre Houle, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Dominic’s cemetery in Proctor.
There are no visiting hours.
The Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Bradeen
KEENE, N.H. — Helen Bradeen, 82, of Keene died April 18, 2003, at Pillsbury Manor North in South Burlington, Vt., following a period of failing health.
She was born in Highmore, S.D., Sept. 30, 1920, the daughter of John F. and Katherine B. (Van Camp) Keenan. She lived in Minot, N.D., Mankato, Minn., Delaware and Springfield, Vt., before moving to the Keene area in 1972.
She was a member of St. Bernard’s Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Third Order of the Carmelites.
Mrs. Bradeen was married
to Joseph Bauer, who died in 1941, and Robert Bradeen, who died in 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Bauer of Colchester and Stanford Bradeen of South Burlington; two daughters, Karen Edmunds of Keene, N.H., and Fay Ybarra of McKinney, Texas; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Keene and Moria Pomije.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Church in Keene. Burial will take place in the Monadnock View cemetery in West Keene.
There are no public calling hours.

John H. Wing Jr.
SHARON — John H. “Skip” Wing Jr., 38, died April 18, 2003, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., of an apparent heart attack.
He was born Dec. 11, 1964, in Keene, N.H., the son of John H. and Nancy L. (Hutchins) Wing Sr.
He attended schools in Milford, N.H., moved with his parents to Lyme, N.H., and graduated from Hartford High School in 1983.
After high school he started a carpentry business, Wing & Wing Builders, with his father. A few years later he started his own roofing business, Key Stone Roofing, which he owned and operated at the time of his death.
He married
Lori Ann Nell April 8, 1995.
Mr. Wing enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, classic cars and gun collecting.
He was a member of the Sharon Up and Downers Snowmobile Club, as well as the National Rifle Association and the Gun Owners of America.
He is survived by his wife of Sharon; a stepson, Chad Benson of Sharon; a son, Augustus Wing of Sharon; two daughters, Autumn Wing and Bailey Wing, both of Sharon; his parents of Benson; a sister, Shelbie Wing of Benson; and a niece.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea.

Theodore A. Shattuck
SPRINGFIELD — Theodore Alfred Shattuck, 61, died April 17, 2003, at Springfield Hospital.
He was born July 27, 1941, in Windsor, the son of Helen Shattuck. He was the stepson of Durward Stocker. He attended school in Springfield.
His first job was at S.R. Youngs, and he served in the National Guard in North Springfield for 20 years. He was self-employed as a plumber for 25 years in the Greenfield, N.H., area. While living there he served as a volunteer on the Greenfield Fire Department.
He enjoyed camping.
Mr. Shattuck is survived by a daughter, Dennis Buda of Merrimack, N.H., and a son, Dever Winters of Greenfield, N.H.; and three grandsons.
A graveside service will be held at the cemetery in South Reading at a later date.

Frank L. Forward Jr.
MANCHESTER — Frank Louis Forward Jr., 85, a longtime resident of Manchester, died April 18, 2003, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.
He was born in Sandy Point, Newfoundland, on May 3, 1917, the son of Frank L. and Myra (Mercer) Forward Sr.
He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II. Before moving to Manchester in the early 1950s he lived in New Jersey and had worked in New York at Grace Shipping Lines on cargo ships and tugs.
He took up photography at an early age as a hobby, and after several years he turned his photography into a business. He was the owner of Forward’s Color Productions Inc., which he and his wife, the former Shirley Welch, ran for many years.
The couple were married
Dec. 6, 1961, in Massachusetts.
Mr. Forward enjoyed boating and flying, which he did frequently to take aerial photographs.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Maxwell Forward of Beverly, Mass., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Augustus Forward, and a sister, Olga Strenz.
The funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family.

Helen O’Donovan
MANCHESTER CENTER — Helen “Eleanor” O’Donovan, 80, died April 18, 2003, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a long illness.
She was born in Forest Hills, N.Y., Sept. 2, 1922, the daughter of George and Helen (Montgomery) Anders. She was raised in Clifton, N.J., and attended Clifton schools.
She was a graduate of Catherine Gibbs Business School in New York City.
She married
Cornelius O’Donovan Sept. 11, 1946, in Clifton, N.J. He died in 1988.
The O’Donovans moved to Manchester in 1947.
Mrs. O’Donovan was the town clerk in Dorset for 28 years.
She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Manchester Village, where she served as a deacon for many years. She was a charter member of the Manchester Country Club and an active member of the Manchester Garden Club for several years. She was also active with the Friends of Hildene, the Southern Vermont Art Center, the Mark Skinner Library, and the Interfaith Council and its Auto Angels. She had also served as secretary for the county Republican Party and had worked with Manchester Health Services over the years.
Survivors include a son, Howard O’Donovan of Manchester, and two grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Manchester Village with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry and the Rev. Jordan Dickinson officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in South Village cemetery in East Dorset.
Friends may call at the Brewster Funeral Service on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Velma J. Harris
SHAFTSBURY — Velma J. Harris, 77, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at the Vermont Veterans Home following a long illness.
She was born in Bennington Sept. 18, 1927, the daughter of Francis and Mabel (Sweet) Brunina.
She married
Paul J. Harris April 30, 1949, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.
Survivors include her husband of Bennington; three sons, James Harris of Bennington, Thomas Harris of West Sand Lake, N.Y., and Patrick Harris of Shaftsbury; two brothers, Francis and Douglas Brunina, both of Bennington; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in St. Johns cemetery in North Bennington.
There will be no calling hours.
