DEBBIE A. ROBTOY
ENOSBURG FALLS -- Debbie A. Robtoy, age 36, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 15, 2002, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
She was born June 3, 1965, in St. Albans the daughter of Larry and Donna (Peaslee) Robtoy.
She was a life long resident of Berkshire and Enosburg and attended Berkshire Elementary School and Richford and Enosburg High Schools. She was a life Member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #42 of Enosburg Falls. Debbie enjoyed putting puzzles together with Eunice Blouin and listening for countless hours to the music of Ken Greco. Her latest interest was creating cook books of her favorite recipes.
She is survived by her mother and her husband, Donna and Randy Scott of Enosburg; her father and his friend, Larry Robtoy and Anelda Machia of Berkshire; two sisters, Val Juaire and Carrie Robtoy, both of Enosburg Falls; two nieces, Mercedes and Danielle Juaire, both of Enosburg Falls; her paternal grandmother, Lucille Robtoy of Berkshire; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including her special aunt and uncle, Sandy and Hubert St. Francis of Swanton; also many special friends. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Ralph and Gertrude Peaslee; and her paternal grandfather, Felix Robtoy.
Debbie's family would like to thank the Franklin County Home Health Agency and the Enosburgh Ambulance Service for the excellent care given to her.
In keeping with Debbie's wishes she will be cremated. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday afternoon from 3-6 at the American Legion Post #42 on 116 Depot St. in Enosburg Falls. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

DAVID R. CHOQUETTE
WINOOSKI -- David R. Choquette, age 44, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 15, 2002, at the Vermont Respite House in Williston following a long illness with cancer.
He was born May 23, 1957 in Granby, P.Q. Canada, the son of the late John and Marie (Dunlavey) Choquette.
David resided in Winooski for the past several years where he worked in construction. Prior to living in Winooski, David led the life of a free spirit and traveled around the world working in construction and odd jobs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and reading.
He is survived by his brother and his wife, Michael and Julie Choquette and their children, John and Chris all of Berkshire; his sister and her friend, Rose Marie Choquette and Virgil Wilson and her children, Kiley Choquette and Brandon Wilson all of Jay; his step-mother, Irene Beaumont of Granby, P.Q. Canada; and many close friends.
Friends and relatives may call on the family Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home on 96 Dickinson Ave. in Enosburg Falls. In keeping with David's wishes there will be no funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

DORIS F. PAQUETTE
ST. ALBANS -- Mrs. Doris F. Paquette, age 83, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 15, 2002, in the Northwestern Medical Center.
She was born in St. Albans Dec. 24, 1918, daughter of the late Frank and Edna (Tuller) Roberts.
In her younger years she worked at the St. Albans Fruit Store on Lake Street, and for Dr. Howard and Dr. Dunsmore as secretary and bookkeeper. She retired as Assistant District Clerk for the Vt. Department of Transportation and was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #1, 8, and 40 Auxiliary, United Transportation of Trainladies and a member of the St. Albans Historical Society.
Sept. 6, 1958, she married Winston Paquette. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Deborah and her husband Garry Myers of Winooski and Valorie LaBelle of Vernon; four grandsons; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her family as well as her very close friends, including Ann White and Joan L'Esperance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St., from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.
ANNA MARTELL
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Anna Martell, 91, of Tucson, Ariz. went to be with the Lord on Jan. 5, 2002, surrounded by her loving family. Anna was preceded in death by her loving husband, William, and daughter, Wanda Cook. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Mossey; sons, Clarence Martell, Joe (Susan) Martell, R. John (Myrna) Martell, and Arnold (Frances) Martell; sisters, Rose Radzyminski, Carolyn Totten and Evelyn (Howard) Cameron; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside Memorial Services were held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by East Lawn Palms Mortuary.
RITA M. BENJAMIN
WINOOSKI -- Rita M. Benjamin, loving mother and devoted wife, born Dec. 12, 1930, to Henry and Rose Boulerice in Chazy, N.Y., died peacefully in her home Jan. 14, 2002, surrounded by her family.
Rita retired from the Geography Department after 28 years of service at the University of Vermont. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family and traveling. Her sense of humor and attention to detail will always be remembered.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Maurice; four children, Jeanne Butler and her husband John of South Burlington, Denise Parker and her husband George of South Burlington, Norm Benjamin and his wife Suzanne of Greenwich, N.Y., and Muriel Miller and Dan Caine of Wallingford, Conn. Her life was made complete with 12 grandchildren, Chris, Aimee and Heather Grimes, Ben, Kathryn, and Allison Parker, Ryan, Elizabeth and Alainna Benjamin, and Eric, Sarah and Christina Miller; three sisters, Leona Pigeon of Winooski, Irene Laroche of Highgate and Jeanne Begnoche of St. Albans; two brothers, Lionel Boulerice and his wife Pauline of South Burlington, Arthur Boulerice and his wife Marguerite of Swanton; a brother-in-law, Ray Breton of Highgate; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marie Claire and a sister, Helen Breton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Care Center (for research), 1 South Prospect St., Burlington, Vt. 05401. JEAN C. HARDY
ST. ALBANS -- Jean C. Hardy, age 60, died at her home Monday evening, Jan. 14, 2002. She was born, in Burlington, the daughter of the late Rene and Ilene (White) Audette, July 2, 1941. She married John Hardy Feb. 20, 1960. She was a published composer of Christian music, receiving no royalties, just the satisfaction of knowing her gift of music helped someone. She was also an active member and organist at the Church of the Nazerene.
Besides her husband of 41 years, John, she is survived by two children, Laurie Laramee of Springfield, and Timothy Hardy of Burlington; three grandchildren, Mark A., and Jonathan Laramee and Christina Hardy; two sisters, Ann Campbell and her husband Norman of Hatfield, Mass., and Shirley Bessette and her husband James of South Burlington; one brother, Michael Audette of St. Albans; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by a brother, Peter Audette, and a sister June Gravelle.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of the Nazerene, on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. There will be no public visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her family. Arrangements are entrusted to Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.
FREDERICK WILLIAM HUTCHINSON
RICHMOND, Va./ENOSBURG FALLS -- Frederick William Hutchinson passed away Jan. 8, 2002, in Richmond, Va. following a brief illness.
He was born in Enosburg Falls on Sept. 3, 1910, the son of the late William Selden and Harriett Forsythe Hutchinson. He was preceded by his wife, Catherine Soule Hutchinson, whom he married in 1939.
He is survived by a daughter, Gail H. Beebe of Colchester; and a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. John F. and Jean Cushing Hutchinson of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Stephen Hutchinson and his wife Polly of Richmond, Va., Anne Hutchinson Yagerline and her husband John of Fairfax, Va., Adam Beebe and Justin Beebe, both of Chicago; four great-grandchildren, Mary Catherine, John and Stephen Hutchinson of Richmond, Va., Virginia and John Matthew Yagerline of Fairfax, Va.; and a niece, Deborah Soule McIlrevey of Madison, Conn.
Following his graduation from St. Albans High School in 1927, Fred attended Norwich University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Vermont Highway Department and Central Vermont Railroad prior to entering active military service in 1941. During World War II, he was stationed in Peterborough, England with the 8th Airforce, 457th Bomb Group and attained the rank of lieutenant colonel. After completing his active military service, he returned to his job with the Central Vermont Railroad. He was named General Manger of the Central Vermont in 1962. Upon his retirement in 1970, he served 10 years in the Vermont State Legislature as Representative from Franklin District 5-1 (St. Albans Wards 1-4).
While in St. Albans, Fred was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry as both Junior and Senior Warden, and he was also a member of the choir. He was a former member of the St. Albans Rotary Club, the Owl Club, the Chamber of Commerce, the Boards of Trustees of the Central Vermont Railroad, Kerb's Memorial Hospital and the Vermont Lung Association. In 1982, he and Catherine moved to Lakeland, Fla., but continued to spend summers at the family camp on the Georgia Shore.
A funeral service was held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Richmond, Va. on Jan. 12. A memorial service and burial will be held in St. Albans at the convenience of the family. The family suggests that any contributions in Fred's memory be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 12400, Richmond, Va. 23241.
HOWARD C. JOHNSON
MILTON -- Howard C. Johnson, 90, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
Howard was born in Colchester on March 10, 1911, the son of Dean and Lena (Gonyeau) Johnson.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 1258 Engineering Combat Battalion. He attended cooking and baking school in the Army during training in Texas.
Upon return to base in Colchester, he was in charge of and drove Fire Engine #1 at Ft. Ethan Allen in Colchester.
On Jan. 17, 1932, he married the former Elaine Jacobs, who survives him. Thursday would have been their 70th Wedding Anniversary.
He began working at Ryans before the service and cut meat at Ryans in Milton and delivered it to the Milton area and into the Islands after the service. In 1950, Howard started his own market, Howard Johnson's Freezer Locker, which he ran until 1966, when he sold it and it became Arrowhead Meat Market, where he also worked until retiring. He was truly missed by customers he had served when he retired.
He was a life member of American Legion Post 57, a charter member of the Milton Fire Dept. when it was formed in 1937. He was also a proud member of the Seneca Lodge #40 F&AM in Milton.
In addition to his wife, Elaine, who resides at Roncalli Health Care, formally VerDelle Village, in St. Albans, he is also survived by his daughter Sally White of Milton; his grandchildren Steven, Dean and Todd White; his great-grandchildren Jesse, Lucas and Nathan White; his great-great-grandchildren Elizia, and Tyler White, all of Milton; his sister Dorothy Scribner, also of Roncalli Health Care in St. Albans; by many nieces and nephews including Mary Perry and Nancy Dion; a sister-in-law Iris Mayville of Milton; and by special friends Peter and Candi Gingrass of Milton. He was predeceased by his brothers Ebenezer and Kenneth Johnson, and his sister Clara Jones.
A Masonic Service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at 2 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home with a Funeral Service following. Memorials in Howard's name may be made to Seneca Lodge #40 F&AM c/o Burton Riley, 1 Herrich Ave., Milton, Vt. 05468. Arrangements were by the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
