Iris C. Aubin
FAIR HAVEN — Miss Iris Charlotte Aubin, 89, died Friday evening, Jan. 24, 2003, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland after a brief illness.
Iris was born on June 10, 1913, in Whitehall, N.Y., the daughter of the late Charles D. and Madelene (Blanchard) Aubin. She was educated in the Whitehall schools and as a young woman she began her working career as a housekeeper and receptionist for Dr. and Mrs. Leslie A. White at his office on Broadway in Whitehall, N.Y. Little did she know that her entire working life would be dedicated to both of them and the people of Whitehall for over 40 years.
Iris, while living in Whitehall, was a communicant of Notre Dame des Victoires Church and the St. Anne’s Society of the church. After moving to Fair Haven, Vt., in 1990, she became a communicant of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and crossword puzzles, and was well known for the many handmade afghans she made and donated to her former church for various fund-raising events.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, with whom she has made her home for 58 years, Elizabeth “Bessie” Aubin. “Aunt I,” although never married
, has always thought of her nieces and nephew as her own children. She is also survived by her niece, whom she raised since a young girl, Hallie C. DeMassio, and her husband, Bob, of Whitehall, N.Y.; her nephew, Jim Aubin and his wife, Rudy, of Fair Haven, Vt., and also by several other nieces, grandnieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her four brothers, Leroy Aubin, Leon “Num” Aubin, Prim Aubin and Clarence “Kiber” Aubin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Washington Street, Fair Haven. The Rev. Gerald Flater will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Greenmount cemetery in Whitehall, N.Y.
Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119, North Main St., Fair Haven.
The family requests that flowers please be omitted. For those who wish, memorial contributions in Iris’s memory may be given to the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice in gratitude for the respect and loving care given to her by her “special visiting nurse,” Joan Richards, through the office of the Durfee Funeral Home at P.O. Terry Pafundi
WELLS — Terry Pafundi, 49, died unexpectedly of natural causes of Jan. 23, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 31, 1953, in Granville, N.Y., the son of Theodore and Lucille (Parker) Pafundi Sr.
At the time of his death Mr. Pafundi was employed by Hudy & Williams Quarries/Newmont Slate as a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include a brother, Theodore Pafundi Jr. of Salem, N.Y.; a sister, Diane Belemjian of Tennessee; and a niece and nephew. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Gary Pafundi.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. at the Robert M. King Funeral Home in Granville with the Rev. Robert Flower officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The Rev. Irving E. French
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The Rev. Irving E. French, 90, of Saratoga Springs and formerly of Rutland, Vt., died Jan. 26, 2003, at Saratoga Hospital.
Services are pending with the Tossing Funeral Home in Rutland.
Lorette Masse
SOUTH HERO — Lorette M.T. (Deslauriers) Masse, 73, died unexpectedly Jan. 23, 2003.
She was born in Greensboro Dec. 9, 1929, the daughter of Achille and Florida (Carrier) Deslauriers.
She married
Florian Masse in Greensboro Bend in 1953.
She regularly visited shut-ins and friends in nursing homes and enjoyed baking for friends and those in need.
She was an active member, volunteer and sacristan at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in South Hero and a member of the St. Padre Pio Spiritual Children Group, the Choir of Christian Comfort, and the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima.
Survivors include three sons, Cyrille of Lawrenceville, Va., Ivon of Meriden, Conn., and Dominic of Grand Isle; a daughter, Valerie Cain of Shrewsbury; a brother, Gilles Deslauriers of Winooski; five sisters, Hermine Boudreau of Hyde Park, Sister Lillian Deslauriers of the Sisters of Providence in Spokane, Wash., Sister Agathe Deslauriers of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart in Winooski, Gisele Thibault of Burlington and Jeanne Deslauriers of South Burlington; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; six brothers, Gaston, Marcel, Liboire, Jean-Louis, Andre and the Rev. Victor Deslauriers.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in South Hero. Burial will be in St. Michael’s cemetery in Greensboro Bend at 10 a.m. on May 3.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Church Hall at St. Rose of Lima.
Minor Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Mark T. Cameron
WALPOLE, N.H. — A funeral Mass for Mark T. Cameron, 43, who died Friday in Westmoreland, N.H., will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the St. Peter Church in Rutland. Vt.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home.
Henrietta E. Johnson
BRANDON — Henrietta Ellen Johnson, 84, died Jan. 26, 2003, at her home in Brandon.
She was born in Johnson on March 12, 1918, the daughter of Gerald and Eula (Whitcomb) Horner. She was a 1936 graduate of Johnson High School.
She worked at Johnson’s Woolen Mills for several years.
She married
Gerald C. Johnson on June 28, 1941 in Johnson, where they made their home until moving to Brandon in 1958. Mr. Johnson died in 1998.
She had worked as a cook at the Forest Dale Elementary school during the 1960s. She later worked as a seamstress at Van Raaulte Shirt Manufacturing Co. in Middlebury and afterward at Dick’s Dress Shop in Rutland for several years.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Johnson.
She had been a foster grandparent at the Neshobe Elementary School for more than 15 years.
Survivors include two sons, Brent A. Johnson of Hartland and Craig L. Johnson of Brandon; three sisters, Betty Cable of East Windsor, Conn., Mabecca Wescom of Eden, and Gloria Gray of Canaan; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Horner and Raymond Horner; two sisters, Beatrice Rabideau and Geraldine LaMere.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Brandon Congregational Church. The Rev. Richard White, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in Pine Hill cemetery. A private, graveside committal service and burial will take place at the cemetery at a later date.
A reception will be held after the funeral service in the church hall.
Friends may call at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Wilfred J. Perry Rites
NORTH CLARENDON — The funeral service for Wilfred J. Perry, 93, who died Jan. 22, 2003, was held Saturday at St. Patrick’s Church in Wallingford. The Rev. Robert McKnight, pastor, officiated. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s cemetery in Claremont, N.H.
John Riddle was organist. Elise Cassarino was vocalist.
Bearers were Kenneth Relihan, Terrence Relihan, Michael Wetherby, Peter Valente, Kevin Spencer and Jay Moreau.
The Clifford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Audra J. Bowen Rites
BENSON — The funeral service for Audra Joan Bowen, 62, who died Jan. 21, 2003, was conducted Saturday at the United Church of Benson. Jo-Anne Short of the United Church of Benson officiated. Burial will be at a later date in the Fairview cemetery in Benson.
Organist and pianist was Daphne Bartholomew. Soloist was Chad Lonesky.
Following the service, a reception was held at the Community Center in Benson.

Richard Bartlett Rites
The funeral service for Richard C. Bartlett, 61, of Rutland, who died Jan. 21, 2003, was held Saturday in St. Peter’s Church in Rutland. Officiating was the Rev. W. Andre Houle, pastor.
Elise Cassarino was vocalist. John Riddle was organist.
Bearers were Joseph Lanzillo Jr., Jeffrey Lanzillo, Suzanne Lanzillo, Jaime Lanzillo, Joel Rudnicki, Jason Rudnicki, Ginger Parker and Billy Parker.
A prayer service was held Friday evening in the Clifford Funeral home by the Rev. Houle.
Charles W. Parker
PROCTORSVILLE — Charles Warren Parker, 77, died Jan. 25, 2003, at Springfield Hospital after a long illness.
He was born May 8, 1925, in Proctorsville, the son of Donald and Cressa Emery Parker. He graduated from Chester High School in 1943.
During World War II, he was in the Navy aboard the USS Rockbridge (APA-228) and served in the amphibious landings of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and the occupation of Tokyo, Yokohama, Otaru and Hokkaido, Japan, and Tsingtao and Chinwangtao in China.
He married
his loving wife, Mary Lou Manley in 1949.
He worked for GE for 32 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. James Methodist Church.
He enjoyed music, gardening, cutting cordwood for his use, reading, crossword puzzles and spending a lot of time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou; two sons; James Parker and wife, Christine, and Thomas Parker and wife, Theresa, of Proctorsville; three daughters, Joanne Liebhaber and husband, Eugene, of Pittsford, Debra Gauthier and husband, John, of West Rutland and Audrey Hoszkiewicz and husband, Stanley, of Proctorsville, and nine grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Mary Ann Westcott of Proctorsville and a brother, Donald Parker of Nipoma, Calif.
A celebration of his life will be held at the St. James United Methodist Church in Proctorsville on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. James or to the Hospice VNH, 46 South Main St., White River Junction, Vt. 05001.
Raymond F. Pierce
CHARLESTOWN, N.H. — Raymond F. Pierce, 90, died Jan. 23, 2003, at Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, Vt.
He was born July 3, 1912, in South Newfane, Vt.
He married
Mae (Smith) Pierce in Bellows Falls in 1972.
He was a manager of Riverview Apartments in Bellows Falls, Vt.
Mr. Pierce was a member of the Green Thumb and was awarded a citation for gardening by the governor.
Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Stephen Vallee of Fort Collins, Colo.; and a brother, Kenneth Pierce of Wisconsin.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls with the Rev. Robert Dimlich officiating. Burial will take place in Westminster cemetery in the spring.
There will be no calling hours.
Donald C. Davis
SPRINGFIELD — Donald C. Davis, 75, of Springfield died Jan. 25, 2003, at home with loving family and friends.
He was born March 15, 1927, in Rutland, Vt., son of Denman and Isabel (Prouty) Davis.
Donald attended schools in Springfield, Vt., graduating from Springfield High School with the Class of 1945. After high school, he served his country in the United States Navy.
On Oct. 15, 1955, he married
Connie Dwinell of St. Johnsbury, Vt.
Mr. Davis worked for many years at Great Eastern Manufacturing in Springfield, also at Joy Manufacturing in Claremont, retiring from Belfon Manufacturing in Claremont in 1992. Before falling ill, he enjoyed driving for Kelley Sales and Service and Subaru of Claremont.
Donald enjoyed painting, woodworking, camping, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He was a deacon of the North Springfield Baptist Church. Donald was a volunteer member of the Springfield Fire Department for 35 years. He was a lifetime member of Springfield VFW Post 771, and a past member and commander of the Proctorsville American Legion. Donald was a member of the Rolling Wheels chapter of Good Sam Camping Association, as well as a past member of the Hawks Mountain Snowmobile Club and the Precision Valley Square Dancing Club.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Connie; two daughters, Cindy Aldrich and her husband, Marty, and Donna Eaholtz, all of Springfield; one son, Donald B. Davis and his wife, Peggy, of Claremont, N.H.; two stepchildren, Winston Adams and his wife, Geri, of Rutland, Vt., and Barbara Rose and her husband, Duane, of Barnet, Vt.; nine grandchildren, Katibeth and Christopher Pratt of Springfield, Donovan, Christian and Damien Davis of Claremont, Scott Owens of Atlanta, Ga., Chuck Rose of Barnet, Vt., Bud Rose of Fort Myers, Fla., and Andrea Valente of Rutland, Vt.; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon Baillergeon-Davis of Port Angeles, Wash., Jordan and Marissa Davis and Tracie Lott of Claremont, Dillan and Hannah Rose of Fort Myers, Fla.; Alea and Lacey Valente of Rutland, Vt.; two brothers, George Davis and wife, Candy, and Clifford Davis of North Springfield; two sisters, Sheila Nelson of White River Junction, Vt., and Pat Wood and husband, Dick, of West Lebanon, N.H.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Ferris Davis; and a granddaughter, Connie Rose.
Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Davis Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the North Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Cederholm, pastor, officiating.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Springfield Area Hospice, 366 River St., Springfield, VT 05156.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Memorial Chapel.
