Michelle R. Culnane
STRATTON — Michelle R. Culnane, 46, died Jan. 9, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 9, 1956, in Rockville Center, N.Y., the daughter of Max and Maxine (Walker) Rogers.
She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Manhasset, N.Y., and Boston College.
She married
Robert Culnane on March 10, 1984, in Vero Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Culnane worked in various capacities at Stratton Mountain for many years.
She was a member of the Cape Cod National Golf Club in Brewster, Mass.
She was currently serving as president of the Parents Association at Stratton Mountain School, and had been a volunteer there for many years.
Mrs. Culnane enjoyed golf, skiing, walking and being an equestrian.
Survivors include her husband, a son, Christopher, and a daughter, Courtney, all of Stratton; and her parents of Vero Beach.
The memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church in Manchester with the Rev. Michael DeMasi officiating. Burial will take place at a later date on John’s Island, Vero Beach.
There will be no calling hours.

Barbara W. Kmiec
ALSTEAD, N.H. — Barbara Washburn Kmiec, 82, died Jan. 14, 2002, at Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland.
She was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Bellows Falls, Vt., the daughter of Perley and Millicent (Ross) Washburn.
She graduated from Vilas High School in Alstead.
She married
Stanley Kmiec Sr. on June 21, 1941, in Charlestown. He died in 2001.
Mrs. Kmiec worked with her husband at Kmiec’s Garage in Alstead as a bookkeeper for many years.
She was artistic and enjoyed drawing many geometric and colorful designs.
Survivors include three sons, Stanley Kmiec Jr. and Bradley Kmiec, both of Alstead, and Robert Kmiec of Midland, Texas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Jayson Kmiec.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls, Vt. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be held Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Jayson Stanley Kmiec Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Fall Mount Regional High School, Langdon, 03602.

Dorothy Lawson
WALLINGFORD - Dorothy Lawson, 81, of Wallingford died Jan. 25, 2003, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 6, 1921, in Stem, N.C., daughter of Samuel and Lula Belle (Roberts) Veazey.
Mrs. Lawson graduated from Stem High School and attended Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. She was employed by the office of Defense Transportation in Wilmington, N.C. during World War II.
She married
Leland William Lawson of Coventry on September 12, 1942.
Mrs. Lawson was a resident of North Carolina, Georgia and Texas before she moved to Coventry where she lived on the family farm for 12 years. She was a member of the Grange and served for two years as Lecturer Program Chairman for the Coventry chapter. She relocated with her family to Wallingford in 1957. She was a former member of the Coventry Congregational Church and a member of the Wallingford Congregational Church. She served as a deaconess, and she served on nominating and search committees.
Mrs. Lawson enjoyed playing bridge and was hostess of the Whist card parties at the Gilbert Hart Library for many years.
Survivors include a son, Gary Veazey Lawson of Rockville, Md.; and nieces and nephews who live in North Carolina, South Carolina and Vermont.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1989; sisters Annie Mae, Grace, Ruth and Frances; and five brothers, Wesley, Samuel, Aubrey, John and Robert.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial services are pending at the Wallingford Congregational Church.
Burial will be held at a later date at the Newbury Center cemetery.

Iris Aubin
FAIR HAVEN - Iris Charlotte Aubin, 89, died Jan. 24, 2003, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born June 10, 1913, in Whitehall, N.Y., daughter of the late Charles D. and Madelene (Blanchard) Aubin.
Miss Aubin was educated in the Whitehall schools. She worked as a housekeeper and receptionist for Dr. and Mrs. Leslie A. White in Whitehall for over 40 years.
In Whitehall, Miss Aubin was a communicant of the Notre Dame Des Victories Church and the St. Anne’s Society of the church. After moving to Fair Haven in 1990 she became a communicant of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church.
Miss Aubin enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crossword puzzles and was well known for the many afghans she made and donated to her church for fund-raising events.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Aubin, with whom she shared a home for 58 years. She is also survived by a niece, Hallie C. DeMassio of Whitehall; a nephew, Jim Aubin of Fair Haven; and several other nieces, grandnieces and nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her four brothers, Leroy Aubin, Leon “Num” Aubin, Prim Aubin and Clarence “Kiber” Aubin.
Visiting hours for family and friends will be 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 N. Main St., Fair Haven.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Washington Street, Fair Haven. The Rev. Gerald Flater will officiate.
Burial will be held at a later date at the Greenmount cemetery in Whitehall.

Henry Long
SUDBURY - The funeral service for Henry Lewis Long, 81, who died Jan. 23, 2003, at his home in Sudbury, was held Jan. 25, 2003, at the Brandon Congregational Church.
The Rev. Richard White, pastor, officiated. A private graveside committal and burial with military honors will take place at a later date in Parklawn cemetery in Bennington.
Herman Butron
PITTSFORD - Herman L. Butron, 95, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Genesis Elder Care Mountain View Center in Rutland.
Mr. Butron was born May 28, 1907 in Peru, South America.
Herman was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in W.W. II.
He has made Pittsford his home for the past 30 years. He had a love for baseball and managed a minor league baseball team in the early 1950’s.
He is survived by one daughter Winifred and her husband Jack Blaum of Queensbury, N.Y.; one granddaughter Anne and her husband Richard Stratton of Rutland; one grandson Mark Blaum of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; one sister in Peru, South America; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews in Peru, South America.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Pittsford. Burial will be held at a later date in St. Alphonsus cemetery in Pittsford.
Friends may call at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford in Sunday (today) from 4-7 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
William Stone
DANBY - The funeral service for William James “B.J.” Stone, 33, of Danby who died Jan. 18, 2003 in Mt. Tabor was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wallingford Congregational Church. The Pastor Howard Underwood of Massachusetts officiated.
Eulogies were given by Tammy Foley and Mandi Smith. Edgar Stone and Brian Baker gave words of remembrance.
Bearers were Mark Smith, David Champine, and Trevor Stone, all of Danby, Mark Parker of Tinmouth, Dean Tyminski and Lee Tyminski, both of Wallingford, Chris Mars and Herb Stone, both of Granville, N.Y.
Burial followed at the Danby-Scottsville cemetery.
Reception services followed at the South Wallingford Grange Hall in South Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD — The memorial service for Dorothy Lawson, 81, of Wallingford, who died Saturday morning at the Rutland Regional Medical Center, will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. at the Wallingford Congregational Church.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1921, in Stem, N.C., the daughter of Samuel and Lula Belle (Roberts) Veazey.
