Randy S. Raynor

ASCUTNEY — Randy S. Raynor, 33, died Aug. 5, 2002, in Lebanon, N.H.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor.

Alfred F. Amee

GLASTONBURY, Conn. — Alfred F. Amee, 82, a former resident of Randolph, Vt., died Aug. 2, 2002.

He was born Aug. 2, 1920, in Braintree, Vt., the son of Wesley and Caroline (Plumpton) Amee.

He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1943 and earned a master’s degree from Suffolk University in Boston.

Mr. Amee was a retired educator, funeral director and real estate broker. He taught in several Vermont and Massachusetts schools for 15 years, established a funeral home in Richford, Vt., and more recently maintained a real estate agency.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.

He was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ, Phoenix Lodge 28, F&AM, and Beulah Chapter 15, OEA, all in Randolph.

Survivors include his wife, Louise (Comings) Amee of Glastonbury; two daughters, Sharon Mikulski of Middletown and Caroline Holmes of Glastonbury; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a granddaughter.

Private funeral services will be held in Randolph at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. in Fellowship Hall of Bethany United Church in Randolph.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Home Care & Hospice, 95 Woodland St., Hartford.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.

Beatrice C. Lannon Rites

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, August 5, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation for Beatrice C. Lannon, 97, who died at the Gill Home in Ludlow on Thursday, August 1, 2002, after a long illness.

Mrs. Lannon is survived by her son, William H. Lannon of Ludlow, a brother Arthur Coburn of West Yarmouth, Mass., a sister Kathryn Wilson of Fort Myers, Fla., three grandchildren, Lee Ann Lee of So. Burlington, Vt., W. Jon Lannon of Ludlow, James Lannon of West Halifax, Vt., one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Lee of Austin, Texas. Mrs. Lannon is predeceased by three brothers, Francis, Bert and Watson Coburn, and two sisters, Bessie Atkins and Marion Cardwell.

The pallbearers were W. Jon Lannon, James M. Lannon, Kevin Coburn, Nelson Coburn, Watson Coburn and James Cardell.

Father Doug Hawkins celebrated the Mass with Deloris Flack playing the organ. Marilyn Dunwoody was the soloist. A reading was done by the American Legion Auxiliary Post 36.

Burial followed at Pleasant View cemetery in Ludlow. The family had a coalition back at their home.

Adams & Kenney Funeral Homes, Ludlow is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary-Lou Moore Rites

SPRINGFIELD — The graveside service for Mary-Lou Moore, 56, who died July 31, 2002, was held Monday in Oakland cemetery in Springfield with the Rev. Richard Cederholm, pastor of the Baptist Church in North Springfield, officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.

Francis McCoy Rites

BENNINGTON — The funeral Mass for Francis McCoy, 83, who died July 22, 2002, was held Monday at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church with the Rev. Vincent Coppola, associate pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Park Lawn cemetery.

Organist was Donald McMahon and soloist was Monica Murray.

American Legion Post 13 in Bennington provided military honors. Ralph Brown presented the flag to Mr. McCoy’s sister, Elizabeth Marcoux. Maurice Rancourt sounded taps.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.

Ralph W. Blakeman Rites

BENNINGTON — The memorial service for Ralph W. Blakeman, who died July 23, 2002, was held Saturday at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Lavender and the Rev. Donna Lavender, both of Cohoes, N.Y., officiating. Burial follow in Oak Hill cemetery in Pownal.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.

Grace Ross

GRANVILLE, N.Y. — Grace Ross, 71, died Aug. 4, 2002, at Glens Falls Hospital.

She was born Oct. 15, 1930, in Granville, the daughter of Owen and Sarah (Lewis) Parry.

She was employed at E.G. Barrow Insurance Agency for many years, and retired as tax collector for the Granville School System.

She enjoyed bingo and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula Bourgeois of Granville; a brother, Donald Parry of Scotia; two stepchildren, Jack Ross of Greenwich and Marie Collins of Albany; a granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Robert M. King Funeral Home in Granville with the Rev. Donald Pepper and the Rev. Martin Evans-Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel cemetery in Granville.

Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 959 Route 9, Mount Royal Plaza, Queensbury, 12804.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert M. King Funeral Home in Granville.

Mary Zakrzewski

Mary (Kramarz) Zakrzewski, 82, of Center Rutland, died Aug. 11, 2002, in Rutland.

She was born in West Rutland on April 18, 1920, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Szarek) Kramarz.

She married Luke S. Zakrzewski; he died in 1986.

She was employed at Rosenblatts Dress Co. and Linda Lee Fashions, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Survivors include two sons, Francis J. Zakrzewski of St. Albans and Albert E. Zakrzewski of West Rutland; a brother, Walter Kramarz of Bristol, Conn.; three sisters, Irene Preleski of Bristol, Conn., Bernice Pawlusiak of Troy, N.Y., and Frances Miglis of Center Rutland; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband and a brother, Theodore Kramarz.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church in West Rutland. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus cemetery.

Friends may call at the Mullin-Clifford Funeral Home in West Rutland Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, P.O. Box 787, Rutland, 05702.

Laura J. McDevitt

Laura Jean (LaFond) McDevitt, 65, of West Rutland died Aug. 10, 2002, at her home.

She was born in Rutland May 17, 1937, the daughter of John A. and Laura (Burke) LaFond. She was a 1955 graduate of Rutland High School.

Mrs. McDevitt was employed at Sevigny’s Sporting Goods in West Rutland and by Home Health Care Inc.

She was a member of St. Bridget’s Church.

Survivors include her husband, Patrick J. McDevitt Sr. of West Rutland; two sons, Patrick J. McDevitt Jr. and David F. McDevitt of West Rutland; a daughter, Linda McDevitt of South Portland, Maine; a sister, Margaret LaFond-Marsh of West Rutland; three brothers, John LaFond and Thomas LaFond, both of West Rutland, and Michael LaFond of Castleton; two grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother, Edward LaFond, and by a sister, Mary LaFond.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget’s Church in West Rutland with the Rev. Robert Whalen, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bridget’s cemetery.

Friends may call today from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Mullin-Clifford Funeral Home in West Rutland.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, P.O. Box 787, Rutland, 05702.

Albert L. Dimick

PROCTOR — Albert L. Dimick, 78, died Aug. 10, 2002, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Mallory Funeral Home in Fair Haven.

Isabelle H. Anderson

Isabelle Holbrook (Kirk) Anderson, 89, died Saturday at Eden Park Nursing Home in Rutland after a long illness. Previously she had been a resident of The Meadows at East Mountain for five years. With the exception of two years on Long Island in the 1940s, she was a lifelong resident of Rutland.

Mrs. Anderson was born on Oct. 20, 1912, in Rutland, the daughter of George L. and Jane T. Kirk. Her first husband, Walter V. Hakins, died in 1967. Her second husband, Carl F. Anderson, predeceased her in 1998.

She graduated from Rutland High School in 1929 and from Wheelock College in Boston with a teaching degree in 1932.

Mrs. Anderson was a nursery school supervisor in the 1930s and a kindergarten teacher at Longfellow Elementary School in the early 1960s. She was a secretary for the Perkins Insurance Agency for many years.

She was a member of the Grace Congregational Church and a volunteer for several decades at Rutland Regional Medical Center. She was active as a Girl Scout, Cub Scout and PTA leader.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by a daughter, Martha (Hakins) Thompson of Arcadia, Calif.; a son, David K. Hakins, and daughter-in-law, Jane (Wilbur) Hakins of Wyckoff, N.J.; grandchildren Eric W. Thompson of Hatboro, Pa., Karen M. Thompson of Prescott, Ariz., David W. Hakins of Fairfax, Va., and Bradley J. Hakins of Oakland, N.J.; a niece, Barbara (Simpson) Gold of Utica, N.Y.; a stepson, Paul Anderson of Richmond, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Amanda Hakins and Ryan Hakins of Fairfax, Va.; two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in Rutland in the fall. There are no calling hours.

The family suggests donations in Mrs. Anderson’s memory to The Arthritis Foundation, Vermont Chapter, 257 South Union Street, Burlington, 05401.

Tossing Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Michael S. Fish

SUDBURY — Michael Stephen Fish, 51, died Aug. 8, 2002, at his home in Sudbury.

Mr. Fish was born May 10, 1951, the son of Harold and Grace (Mero) Fish. He received his early education in Mount Kisco, N.Y., schools and graduated from Black River High School in Ludlow in 1969. He later attended the University of Vermont.

He worked for several years at General Electric in Burlington. He had been self-employed in landscaping and trucking for the past 15 years.

He has been a resident of Sudbury since 1997, having moved from Williston.

Survivors include his mother, Grace Maddaloni of Willsboro, N.Y.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Philips Catholic Church in Willsboro, N.Y. A private graveside committal service and burial will follow in St. Philips cemetery in Willsboro.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to The Vermont Heart Association, 12 Hurricane Lane, Williston, 05495.

The Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon is in charge of arrangements.

Lois Thurlow Rites

WALLINGFORD — The memorial service for Lois Hill Thurlow, who died Aug. 5, 2002, was held Saturday at the First Congregational Church of Wallingford. The Rev. Donald Caskie, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery with the Rev. Caskie reading the committal prayers.

Readings and remembrances were given by family and friends.

Organist was Wendy Savery. Soloist was Lee Perry.

The Tossing Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
