Robert L. Roucoulet Sr. rites
A graveside memorial service for Robert L. Roucoulet Sr., 66, who died Aug. 23, 2000, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., was held Monday in St. Joseph Cemetery by the Rev. James McShane of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Speakers were John and Rebecca Nelson.
Contributions may be made to David's House in Lebanon.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Aldous Funeral Home.
Robert M. Kotzek
The memorial service for Robert M. Kotzek, 72, of Rutland, who died Aug. 20, 2000, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Tossing Funeral Home.
Georgie D. Farwell rites
A private graveside service for Georgie D. Farwell, 91, of Rutland, who died Aug. 24, 2000, at the Mountain View Center Genesis Eldercare Network, was held Monday in Green Mount Cemetery in Montpelier.
Family members gave the eulogy.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Tossing Funeral Home.
Aileen Herbert rites
The funeral service for Aileen "Ike" Herbert, 74, of Rutland and Deltona City, Fla., who died Aug. 25, 2000, was held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Rutland by the Rev. John Herbert, associate pastor.
Organist was Robert McMahon and vocalist was Helen Davidson.
Reader was Timothy Herbert, a son. Words of remembrance were given by William F. Herbert Jr., a son.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home.
Chester R. Mace rites
WEST RUTLAND - A funeral service for Chester R. Mace, 68, who died Aug 25, 2000, in Burlington, was held Monday at the Union Church of Proctor by the Rev. Russell Gates, pastor. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland.
Organist was Mary Millett.
Reader was Melissa Mace, a daughter.
American Legion Post 31 provided military honors. LeRoy Norse and George Zsido presented the flag to the family.
Nicole Mace, a granddaughter, sounded taps.
Mr. Mace was predeceased by two brothers, Fred Mace and Nathan Mace.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Mullin-Clifford Funeral Home .
Mildred P. Edleston
BENNINGTON - Mildred P. Edleston, 85, former resident of Greenfield, Mass., died Aug. 27, 2000, at Crescent Manor Care Centers in Bennington.
She was born Sept. 3, 1914, in North Adams, Mass., daughter of Richard Purdy and Mildred (Hicks) Crosier.
She graduated from Bennington High School in 1933 and continued her studies in clerical work and bookkeeping.
She married Chester Edleston on Oct. 2, 1937 in Greenfield.
Mrs. Edleston was employed at the former Twin State Electric Co. in Bennington before moving to Greenfield where she worked for various law firms and for the construction firm of Cook and Jones for 17 years, retiring in 1987.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband and being outdoors, fishing, camping and spending time at the family camp in Brattleboro.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Purdy of Bennington; a sister, Charlotte Comar of Pownal; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her husband died in 1984, and a brother was killed in 1943 during World War II.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.

Charlotte M. Duling
WINDSOR - Charlotte M. Duling, 68, died Aug. 28, 2000, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor.
Herbert A. Porter
BETHEL - Herbert A. Porter, 95, formerly of Bethel, died Aug. 27, 2000, at the Rowan Court Nursing Home in Barre.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Day Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery in Barnard.

Rita B. Brown
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Rita B. Brown, 86, died Aug. 27, 2000, at her home after a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 14, 1914, in Holyoke, Mass., the daughter of Philius and Rosalba (Oustigue) Martel.
She was raised in Brattleboro, Vt., and attended the local schools.
She married Clyde T. Brown on April 26, 1941, in Brattleboro.
Mrs. Brown had been employed at Cushing Hospital in Framingham, Mass., retiring in 1971. She had also worked for Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates in Brattleboro.
She was a former communicant of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Brattleboro.
She enjoyed swimming and fishing,
Survivors include a son, Clyde T. Brown Jr. of Fort Myers; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, who died in 1998; five brothers, Harvey Martel, Alfred Martel, Henry Martel, Arthur Martel and Disilva Martel; and six sisters, Leah Marion, Delore LaFlam, Blanche Cote, Lila Mercure, Dorella Carrier and Eda Martel.
The service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Brattleboro. Committal rites and burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's School, 48 Walnut St., Brattleboro, 05301, in care of Mr. Frank Vara, principal.
Eric M. Tronsen rites
BENNINGTON - The funeral service for Eric Matthew Tronsen, who died Aug. 18, 2000, in Denver, Colo., was held Saturday at the Old First Church with the Rev. Charles Fox officiating. Burial followed in Park Lawn Cemetery. Musical accompaniment was given by Bruce Faller, who played a selection using Eric's guitar.
Organist was Paul Opel.
Words of remembrances were given by his brother, Ted Tronsen and friends, Liam Cassidy, Charlene Palfy and Christopher Lentz.
Bearers were Mark Tronsen, Adam Tronsen and Ted Tronsen and three cousins, Mike Hindle, Desh Hindle and Jeff Panall.
Attending the services were faculty and staff from Bennington College and Monument School.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
Helen R. Duffy rites
SPRINGFIELD - A funeral Mass for Helen R. Duffy, 84, formerly of Springfield, who died Aug. 24, 2000, at the Wellstar Community Hospice Center in Austell, Ga., was held Monday morning at St. Mary's Church in Springfield by the Rev. James M. Shea, pastor. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Organist was Rafal Nowak, who accompanied the Rejoice Choir on several hymns. Cantor and soloist was Harry Smith.
Bearers were William Duffy and Andrew Duffy, both of Merrimack, N.H.; Charles Duffy of Atlanta, Ga., and John Schneider of Kennesaw, Ga.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel.
John B. Stearns
PANTON - John "JB" B. Stearns, 62, died Aug. 27, 2000, at his home .
He was born in the backseat of a car on Nov. 28, 1937, in Fairlee, son of Burnham S. and Beth (McKirryher) Stearns.
He attended Rutland schools and the University of Kansas, earning his graduate degree in drama.
Mr. Stearns was an educator at Leland and Gray in Townshend and was later in business and consulting.
He was a founding member of both Project Assist and Vermont Construction Career Council and was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Vergennes Rotary Club. As a director of Personnel and Training, he won the Lift America Award for Excellence in Employee Education. He served in town government in Newfane for 18 years and as chairman of numerous education boards throughout the state of Vermont.
He was an accomplished writer who was published in many sporting journals and books.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Elaine (Druke) Stearns; a daughter, Sarah Wales; and a son, Seth Stearns.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Congregational Church in Vergennes with a graveside service to follow in Adams Ferry Cemetery in Panton.
Calling hours will be held tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes.

Hazel Boise
MIDDLEBURY - Hazel Boise, 88, died Aug. 27, 2000, at Helen Porter Nursing Home.

Curtis A. Stannard
Curtis Anderson Stannard, born June 13, 1962, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2001. Curt was an accomplished bass guitarist, setting the standards for other players around the state. He played regularly with the Huge Members and the Hemispheres.
Curt had many friends in the music world in Vermont. Music was his love and his life. On occasion he was known to have jammed with his brother, Bob.
Curt’s second love, like most Vermont native sons, was nature, and he spent much of his time enjoying the solitude of our woods and the company of the wildlife of our fine state.
Curt is survived by his mother and stepfather, Thrya (Stannard) Laird and Dick Laird of Rutland, Vt.; and two brothers, James P. Stannard Jr. of Dorset and Robert J. Stannard of Manchester, Vt.; and his fiancée, Maryanne Cadella, and her daughter, Crysta. His father, James P. Stannard Sr., who died in July of 1977, preceded him in death.
There will be no calling hours or service at this time. The family will arrange for a memorial service to celebrate his life, which will be held at the Dorset Sportsmen’s Club in Dorset, Vt., and a benefit concert in Rutland, Vt., sometime after the holidays.
