Hazel M. Forster
CHESTER — Hazel Malone Forster, 80, died Nov. 13, 2001, after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Hartford, Conn.
She was an avid collector and enjoyed going to auctions and local flea markets.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford Forster of Chester; a son, Clifford Forster; two daughters, Kim Child and Carol Jenkins; a sister, Sally Fucci of Florida; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by two brothers, William Malone and Francis Malone; and a sister, Evelyn Mierz.
The memorial service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose’s Church in Meriden, Conn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Visiting Nurse, Springfield Alliance of Vermont, 366 River St., Springfield.
Mildred L. Durphey
WINDSOR — Mildred L. Durphey, 89, died Nov. 19, 2001, at home.
She was born July 26, 1912, in Norwich, the daughter of Laban and Lillian (Kimball) Warren.
She attended school in Windsor.
She married Edward Durphey on Aug. 20, 1932, in Windsor. He died in 1999.
Mrs. Durphey was employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Windsor for 17 years, retiring in 1962.
She was a member of the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor.
She enjoyed crafts.
Survivors include two sons, William Durphey of Windsor and David Durphey of Claremont, N.H.; two daughters, Maxine Griswold of Windsor and Betty White of Whiting, N.J.; a sister, Stella Roberts of Whitefield, N.H.; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, John Warren and Wallace Warren.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor with the Rev. Lise M. Boulerice, pastor of the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor, officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery in Quechee.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dean J. Webster
ROCHESTER — Dean J. Webster died Nov. 16, 2001, at his home.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
Friends may call Friday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Winfred C. Pratt
BRATTLEBORO — Winfred Charles “Bud” Pratt, 84, died Nov. 19, 2001, at his home after a long illness.
He was born on Feb. 8, 1917, in Leverett, Mass., the son of Alonzo and Katherine (Clarke) Pratt.
He was raised in Winchester, N.H., and attended schools in both Winchester and Shutesbury, Mass.
Mr. Pratt married Viola Barry on May 14, 1938, in Albany, N.Y.
He was self-employed, operating his own trucking and logging business for many years. Later, he worked for Jack Frost in Winchester and Dunham Shoe Co. in the warehouse in Brattleboro.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church in West Brattleboro and a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Carl Dessaint Post 1034, in Brattleboro.
Mr. Pratt enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Gerald Pratt of West Brattleboro; a half-sister, Evelyn Underwood of Amherst, Mass.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Larry Pratt in 1996; and a great-grandson in 1998.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church with the Rev. Dennis Roth, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery.

Barbara B. Deming
NORTH HAVERHILL, N.H. — Barbara B. Deming, 84, died Nov. 18, 2001, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville.
She was born June 12, 1917, in St. Albans, Vt., the daughter of Napoleon and Lillian (Shore) Voudrin.
She attended schools in St. Albans and graduated from Wells River High School in Wells River, Vt.
She married Philip Deming in October 1938 in Hartford, Vt. He died in 1983.
Mrs. Deming was employed as a nurse’s aide in Lowell, Mass., for more than 40 years.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in White River Junction, Vt.
She enjoyed traveling, and playing and watching basketball.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Baird of North Haverhill and Brenda Millette of Woodsville; two sons, Randy Deming of White River Junction and Carlton Deming of Nashua; two sisters, Erlene Robinson of Titusville, Fla., and Pearl Page of Brattleboro, Vt.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in North Haverhill with the Rev. Elizabeth Davis officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
There will be no calling hours.

Annette L. Godfrey
ORFORD, N.H. —Annette L. Godfrey, 63, died Nov. 19, 2001, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
She was born Oct. 6, 1938, in Orford, the daughter of Alphonse and Jessie (Woods) Fillian.
She attended schools in Orford.
She married Albert Godfrey on June 16, 1956, in West Fairlee, Vt. He died in 1990.
Mrs. Godfrey had worked at Equity Publishing Co. in Orford, the Journal Opinion in Bradford, Vt., and Bill Fletcher Printing in Fairlee, Vt. She had worked for a bed and breakfast in Quechee, Vt., for the last two years.
She enjoyed dancing, music, traveling and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Godfrey of Wentworth; a daughter Cynthia Lawson of Plymouth; a brother, Roger Fillian of New Jersey; three sisters, Dorothy Hammond of Mississippi, Beatrice Perry of Bradford, Vt., and Ruth Davis of Lebanon; her companion, Ray Champagne of Woodstock, Vt.; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, David and William Fillian; and two sisters, Rachel Fish and Delvina Fillian.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Orfordville Congregational Church with the Rev. Ellen Park officiating. Burial will follow in Orford Street Cemetery in Orford.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hale Funeral Home, Upper Plain, Bradford, Vt.

Helen Pacina
ATHENS — Helen Pacina, 89, died Nov. 18, 2001, at her home.
She was born May 29, 1912, in Willowbrook, Calif., the daughter of Harry and Agatha (Rothe) Groenink and stepfather Peter Giatras.
She attended Torrance High School in California.
She married Philip Pacina, who died in 1973.
Survivors include four daughters, Bernadine Mabe with whom she made her home in Athens, Bonnie White of Chester, Barbara Sullivan of Sacramento, Calif., and Brenda Rudd of Carson City, Nev.; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; many adopted grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Beverly Kincaid.
The memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Church in West Townshend with the Rev. Joseph Coleman and her grandson, the Rev. Joseph Mabe, officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls.

Ethel B. Hamilton Rites
BENNINGTON — The funeral service for Ethel B. Hamilton, 74, who died Nov. 15, 2001, was held Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Bennington with the Rev. George Eberly and Lawrence Callander officiating. Burial followed in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Organist was Louise Gauthier and soloist was Philip Elwell.
The eulogy was given by Lawrence Callander.
Pallbearers were James Hamilton, Benjamin Hamilton, Jon Ryan, Scott Seiple, David Goodell and Richard North.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Bennington.
David B. Danyon
EAST CORINTH — David B. Danyow, 62, of Vermont, Route 25, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2001, in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Born on September 13, 1939, in Ferrisburgh, Vt., he was the son of Ralph and Dorothy (Ashley) Danyow.
He attended Vergennes High School and Castleton State College.
On October 23, 1982, he married France Gagnon in Plainfield, Vt.
He retired from the Vermont Air National Guard with 38 years of service, retiring in the grade of chief master sergeant as the field maintenance branch chief. He was employed at Wilkins Harley Davidson, in Barre, Vt., for the past five years as a seasonal employee, enjoying his winters in Florida with his wife, riding their Harley Davidsons. He died doing what he loved most, riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his loving wife, France G. Danyow of East Corinth; one son, Jonathan Danyow and his wife, Julia, of Queensbury, N.Y.; two daughters, Tonya Danyow of Barre, Vt., and Jamie Kaye Danyow of Poultney, Vt.; four grandchildren, Jonathan Danyow Jr., Jacob Danyow, Neisha Meachan, Abigail Meacham. David is also survived by one brother, Richard Danyow and his wife, Elaine, of Castleton, Vt., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Carolyn Lafleche who passed away in September of 2001.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Monica Church in Barre.
Family and friends may call at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., in Barre on Thursday, November 22, 2001, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Burial will be in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, Vt., with full military honors.
