Walter J. Dubanevich
SPRINGFIELD — Walter J. Dubanevich, 79, died Oct. 18, 2001, at Springfield Hospital after a long illness.
He was born Dec. 10, 1921, in Springfield, the son of Ignatius and Rosa (Dubanevich) Dubanevich.
He attended Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield High School in 1942.
Mr. Dubanevich helped operate the family market, “I. Dubanevich & Sons,” which had been a Springfield landmark for many years.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Springfield Moose Lodge 679.
Survivors include two sisters, Eileen Reardon of Springfield and Mary Reese of Seattle; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Anna Coleman; and two brothers, Adam Dubanevich and Victor Dubanevich.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Ramano, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Davis Memorial Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel.
Henry B. Chase
SPRINGFIELD — Henry B. Chase, 84, died Oct. 17, 2001, at Springfield Health & Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
He was born May 26, 1917, in Springfield, the son of Fred and Fanny (Juckett) Chase.
He attended Springfield schools.
Mr. Chase married Evelyn Taft on Sept. 18, 1941, in Springfield. She died in 1992.
He was employed by Jones & Lamson Machine Tool Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1978.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, serving during World War II.
Mr. Chase was a member of the American Legion, St. John’s Masonic Lodge 41, F&AM, Mount Sinai Temple in Montpelier, and former member of Springfield Moose Lodge 679.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce H. Chase of Virginia Beach, Va., and Ronald R. Chase of Newport, N.H.; two sisters, Sara Snide of Ludlow and Roselyn St. Louis of South Burlington; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Louis Chase; and a half-sister, Ella Stevenson.
A private family service will be held today in Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. William Scherwerts, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel.
Helen K. Roberts
GRANVILLE, N.Y. — Helen K. Roberts, 86, died Oct. 18, 2001, at Rutland (Vt.) Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 3, 1915, in Granville, the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Luksa) Kostyun.
She graduated from Granville Central School.
She married Robert J. Roberts on Aug. 12, 1948. He died in 1992.
Mrs. Roberts retired from the Washington County Social Services Department.
She enjoyed collecting miniature dollhouses, dolls and Christmas decorations.
Survivors include three brothers, Andrew Kostyun, Steve Kostyun and George Kostyun; a sister, Theresa Furlo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Michael Kostyun, John Kostyun and Peter Kostyun; and three sisters, Anna Wulchin, Mary Kordiyak and Susan Nagle.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. Hal Stockert as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mettowee Valley Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.

Stephania Bujak
CENTER RUTLAND - Stephania “Stephie” Bujak, 77, of Center Rutland died Oct. 19, 2001, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 7, 1924, in Center Rutland, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Kuleczek) Bujak.
She worked at Rosenblatt’s Dress Factory and Lynda Lee Fashions as a seamstress.
Ms. Bujak was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in West Rutland.
Survivors include a brother, Stanley Bujak of Center Rutland; three sisters, Bernice Bujak and Josephine Bujak, both of Center Rutland, and Stella Burke of Springfield, Mass.; a niece and a nephew.
A sister, Mary Bujak, died in 1981.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Burial will follow at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Mullin-Clifford Funeral Home in West Rutland.

Austin W. Carvey
PROCTOR - Austin W. Carvey, 8 months, daughter of Thomas Carvey and Tara Racine, died Oct. 19, 2001, at Children’s Hospital in Boston. Arrangements are pending with the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
Edward Carvey Sr.
FAIR HAVEN - A mass of Christian burial for Edward T. Carvey Sr. was held Friday at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Fair Haven. The Rev. Richard Tinney, parish priest, officiated. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Bob Bascom delivered the eulogy. Jason Carvey, Scott Tibbetts, Fred Brooks Jr., James Brooks, Chris Carvey and Don Allen Niles were bearers. Shane Carvey offered words of remembrance and led the family in singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”
Katherine Dudley
MIDDLETOWN SPRINGS - Katherine E. (Powers) Dudley, 84, died Oct. 18, 2001, at the Eden Park Nursing Home in Rutland after a long illness.
She was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Rutland, the daughter of Raymond and Jenny (Segar) Powers.
She married Cecil Dudley on Aug. 19, 1936, in Poultney. He died in 1982.
Mrs. Dudley served as postmaster of the Middletown Springs Post Office for 20 years and retired in 1986.
She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Middletown Springs and a former member of the Round About Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Cecile Carmen of Las Vegas and Margaret Corey of Brandon; two sons, James Dudley of Middletown Springs and William Dudley of Rutland; a sister, Jane Milizia of Winooski; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Raymond Powers and John Powers, and a grandson are deceased.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Middletown Springs. The Rev. Richard Fowler will officiate. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Middletown Springs.
The family will receive friends at the home of James Dudley on Dudley Road in Middletown Springs.
There are no calling hours.

Marion Fitzgerald
NORWICH - Marion C. Fitzgerald, 88, of Huntley Street in Norwich, died Oct. 19, 2001, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
She was born March 22, 1913, in Thetford, the daughter of John A. and Hattie A. (Barker) Simmonds.
She attended schools in Post Mills and graduated from Thetford Academy in 1929 and from the Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing in 1933.
She married William Francis Fitzgerald on July 5, 1936, in Post Mills. They lived in Post Mills and, for the past 38 years, in Norwich. He died Sept. 8, 2001.
Mrs. Fitzgerald worked as a nurse and retired from the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in 1986.
Survivors include a son, J. David Fitzgerald of Enfield, N.H.; two daughters, Kathryn Tenberg of Wilder and Joni Fitzgerald of Rutland; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Post Mills Cemetery. The Rev. Gail Dimick will officiate.
There are no calling hours.

William Green III
FAIRLEE - Funeral services for William E. “Ed” Green, who died Oct. 17, 2001, were held Saturday at the family home on Route 5. The Rev. Gail Dimick officiated. Burial was at the Orford Street Cemetery in Orford, N.H.
Griffith Jones
RUTLAND - Graveside services for Griffith Morris “Sonny” Jones, 65, who died Oct. 16, 2001, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fair Haven. American Legion Post 31 in Rutland will provide military honors. Durfee Funeral Home in Fair Haven is in charge of arrangements.
John Rosmus Jr.
RUTLAND - John J. Rosmus Jr., 47, of Rutland, died Oct. 19, 2001, at his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1953, in Rutland, the son of John J. and Beverly (Dorr) Rosmus Sr.
He graduated from West Rutland High School and attended Paul Smith College.
He had worked at Moore Business Forms for more than 20 years and more recently worked installing floors for Doug Jackson.
Mr. Rosmus was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1122, the Italian Aid Society, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 50 in Castleton and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1001.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed trips to Maine and NASCAR racing.
Survivors include his parents of West Rutland and a brother, Daniel J. Rosmus of Poultney.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Aldous Funeral Home in Rutland. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
