Philip I. Paquette
FERRISBURGH - Philip I. Paquette, 48, died July 30, 2001, in Rutland.
He was born July 8, 1953, in Middlebury, son of Maurice and Mildred (Brown) Paquette.
Survivors include a son, Jeremiah Paquette of Florida; his parents of Ferrisburgh; a sister, Marie Jewell of Addison; four brothers, Richard of Middlebury, Maurice P. and Michael, both of Ferrisburgh and Gary of Nebraska; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Vergennes.
There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol.
Mary L. Panarello
Mary L. Panarello, 87, died Aug. 24, 2001, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
She was born in West Rutland, Oct. 18, 1913, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Baker) LaFay.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Church and a former member of Rutland American Legion Post 31 Women’s Auxiliary.
Survivors include six nieces and five nephews, Patty Sabotka, Wally Sabotka, Kelly Boudreau, David Taggart, Anthony Russell and Rita Bernier, all of Rutland; James Panarello of West Rutland; Diane Stevens of Pittsfield, Mass.; Larry Taggart of Ira; Ann Barker of Brandon, and Patty Luther of North Clarendon.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony F. Panarello; by two brothers, John LaFay and T.G. LaFay, and by two sisters, Rena Loveland and Elizabeth Ross.
A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Clifford Funeral Home Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m.

Elaine M. Judd
JOHNSON — Elaine May Judd, 61, died unexpectedly Aug. 25, 2001, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
She was born in Greenfield, Mass., on Feb. 19, 1940, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Richardson) Wonsey Jr.
She had been married to Jerome Clement Sr. On Sept. 13, 1986, she married Gary L. Judd.
Her hobbies included crocheting and decorating cakes. She and her husband were active members of the Lamoille Valley Cruisers, a classic car club.
Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Tammie Kendall of Brattleboro, Margaret Bird of Guilford, and Tina Race, Martha Pecor Clement and Jodi Clement, all of Rutland; a son, Jerome Clement Jr. of Norwich; a sister, Joyce Herrick of Shrewsbury, Mass.; a brother, Richard Winters of Guilford, Maine; a stepbrother, Dale McLean of Marlboro; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a grandson.
A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Jedediah Hyde Cemetery in Hyde Park.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the White-Fiess Funeral Home, in Morrisville.

Letitia Walker Rites
SOUTH LONDONDERRY — A service to celebrate the life of Letitia “Tish” Walker, who died Aug. 17, 2001, was held Saturday at the First Baptist Church in South Londonderry with the Rev. Malcolm Hamblett, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery in Londonderry, where Jean Jordan, Mrs. Walker’s daughter, read a prayer.
Organist was Adeline Barker. Soloist was Mary Kate Marcellus.
The Rev. Stillman Slason, Mrs. Walker’s brother, offered the eulogy. Douglas Stevens, her son-in-law, read a poem.
The Brewster Funeral Service of Manchester Center was in charge of arrangements.
Herbert A. Boedtker Rites
SPRINGFIELD — A funeral service for Herbert A. Boedtker, 79, formerly of Springfield, who died Aug. 11, 2001, was held Saturday at Davis Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Leland G. King of the Springfield Church of Christ officiated. Burial followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Springfield.
The Davis Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Maurice F. Fairbank
WALPOLE, N.H. — Maurice F. Fairbank, 86, died at the Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland Aug. 24, 2001.
He was born June 21, 1915, in North Scituate, R.I., the son of Ernest and Lora (Edwards) Fairbank. He attended schools in West Warwick, R.I., and Andover, Vt.
Mr. Fairbank served with the Vermont National Guard’s 43rd Division in World War II in the South Pacific Theater, serving from 1940 to 1945. He survived the sinking of the USS Coolidge in the South Pacific.
He married Elaine Jeffrey on Dec. 2, 1945, in the First Congregational Church in Walpole.
He worked as a meat cutter for various grocery stores in Chester, Vt., Charlestown and Walpole, before retiring in 1977.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing.
Mr. Fairbank was known for his volunteer work at chicken barbecues for the First Congregational Church in Walpole, the North Walpole Fire Department and Walpole Youth Baseball.
He was a member of the church, a 50-year-plus member of the fire department, a member of the American Legion Post, the Horse Thieves Society and the Senior Citizens, all of Walpole, the VECO Club of Bellows Falls, Vt.; and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Alstead.
In addition to his wife of Walpole and Maplewood Nursing Home, he is survived by two sons, Bruce A. Fairbank of Charlestown and Duane E. Fairbank of Walpole; a daughter, Marie E. Sherer of Guilford, Vt.; a sister, Grace Cornell of West Warwick, R.I.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held today at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Walpole with the Rev. Larry Siebrands officiating. Burial will follow in Walpole Cemetery.

Alfred P. Heekin
BENNINGTON — Alfred Paul Heekin, 85, of Bennington, died Aug. 25, 2001, at his home as a result of injuries he received in an automobile accident Jan. 7, 2000.
He was born in Schenectady, N.Y., Oct 10, 1915, the son of James J. and Aurora (Coriveau) Heekin.
He was a graduate of Knott Terrace High School in Schenectady. He was awarded a basketball scholarship to St. Michael’s College in Winooski, where he graduated in 1938.
Mr. Heekin served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He served in the European Theater and was at the Battle of Normandy on D-Day.
He was employed as a special investigator for the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Division of the Internal Revenue Service for more than 25 years, and earlier in his career worked for the Social Security Office in Washington, D.C.
He was a member of Bennington Lodge of Elks 567, American Legion Post 13, Knights of Columbus Council 307 and Crime Stoppers of Bennington County.
He was a member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington and St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in East Dorset.
He was active with the church and as a fund-raiser for the Bennington Rescue Squad.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Warner Heekin of Bennington; three sons, James Heekin of Balston Lake, N.Y.; Richard Heekin of Niskayuna, N.Y., and John Heekin of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Christine Heekin of Jacksonville, Fla., and Elaine Walczyk of Clinton, N.Y.; a stepson, Michael E. Powers of Bennington; several grandchildren and two cousins.
He was predeceased by his first wife, May Zenni Heekin, and a brother, James J. Heekin.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in East Dorset with the Rev. Michael Demasi officiating. Burial will take place in East Dorset Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. The Bennington Lodge of Elks 567 will conduct their service at 7:15 p.m., the Knights of Columbus Council 307 at 7:30 p.m. and American Legion Post 13 at 7:45 p.m.

John K. Siliski
SPRINGFIELD — John K. Siliski, 84, formerly of Springfield, died Sunday at the Mayflower Retirement Center in Winter Park, Fla., following a long illness.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Davis Memorial Chapel. A complete obituary will appear in a later edition of the Herald.
Pauline J. Lemoine
BENNINGTON — Pauline J. Lemoine, a resident of Locust Grove, Va., and a former resident of Bennington, died Aug. 26, 2001, at the Culpepper Health and Rehabilitation Center in Culpepper, Va., following a long illness.
She was born in North Adams, Mass., March 6, 1918, the daughter of Napoleon and Regina (Duquette) Falcon. She received her education in North Adams.
She married Charles F. Lemoine Sept. 23, 1939, in North Adams. Mr. Lemoine died Sept. 23, 2000.
Survivors include two daughters; Jeanne L. Cronin of Locust Grove, Va., and Judith Sherman of Newark, Del.; a son, Charles J. Lemoine of Bettendorf, Iowa; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; a niece and a nephew.
She was predeceased by a brother, William Falcon.
The funeral will begin Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home and continue at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 10 a.m. Burial will take place in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The wake service will be offered Wednesday evening.

Lulu B. Wright
POWNAL — Lulu B. Wright, 53, of Pownal died Aug. 25, 2001, following a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Arlington March 5, 1948, at the family home on Ice Pond Road, the daughter of James E. and Phyllis Mae (Squires) Stone. She received her education in Sunderland and was a graduate of Arlington High School.
She married Lloyd G. Wright Sr. March 5, 1967, in Sunderland.
In earlier years, she was employed as a waitress in Manchester and Bennington. She was later employed at the Thomson Manufacturing Co. in Bennington and the Carroll Cable Co. in Williamstown, Mass.
She enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include her husband of Pownal; two sons, Lloyd G. Wright Jr. of Bennington and Joseph Wright of Woodford; six sisters, Josephine Baker of Bennington, Bonnie Hatch of Bennington, Mary Drown of Northfield, Rose M. Keough of Sunderland, Diane L. Hawley of Front Royal, Va., and Helen M. Weller of Sunderland; three brothers, Eugene J. Stone of West Arlington, Clifford B. Stone of Brandon, and Leroy H. Stone of Fort Collins, Colo.; three grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. George Eberly, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Elizabeth Dawson
BENNINGTON — Elizabeth Dawson, 54, of Bennington died unexpectedly Aug. 24, 2001, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
She was born in Bennington July 28, 1947, daughter of Henry R. and Myrtle (Morris) Brace. She received her education in the Bennington schools.
She married Eli Dawson Dec. 7, 1963, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.
In earlier years, she was employed as a nurse’s aide at Crescent Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Dawson collected music boxes and enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include her husband of Bennington; three daughters, Mary Brien of Shaftsbury, Melissa Smilie of Warrensburg, N.Y., and Michele Dawson of Bennington; a son, Carnell McCord of Bennington; two sisters, Margaret Snooks of England and Bonnie Hastings of White Creek, N.Y.; three brothers, Michael Snooks and Anton Brace, both of England, and Dion Brace of Bennington; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Brace.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Vincent J. Cappola, associate pastor of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church, officiating. Burial will take place in White Chapel Cemetery.
