Faith M. Havens
BRANDON — Faith M. Havens, 44, died July 25, 2001, in Goshen.
She was born Dec. 29, 1956, in Milford, Conn., daughter of Har-old and Theo-Jane (Gammie) Loomis.
She graduated from Rutland High School in 1974.
She was employed by United Parcel Service as a driver for 16 years. Most recently she was em-ployed by the Proctor-Pitts-ford Country Club as a waitress and cook.
She enjoyed fishing, camping, horseshoe throwing, cooking and traveling.
Survivors include her father of Rutland; her mother, Theo-Jane Ausbury of Danbury, Conn.; a son, Casey J. Havens of North Carolina; two sisters, Nancy Lyman and Halle Jane Loomis, both of Rutland; two brothers, David Loomis of North Attleboro, Mass., and Peter Loomis of Hinesburg; two nieces and two nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Trinity Epis-copal Church in Rutland.
Friends may call today from noon to 3 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Vermont Special Olympics, Rutland Chapter, in care of Harold Loomis, Station A, P.O. Box 1854, Rutland, 05701, or to a favorite charity.

Joseph E. Fuster
PITTSFIELD — Joseph Edward Fuster, 89, died July 26, 2001, at Eden Park Nursing Home in Rutland.
He was born Aug. 27, 1911, in Switzerland, son of Joseph A. and Marie (Halter) Fuster.
He graduated from high school in Switzerland, and moved to the United States when he was 19.
He married Frances Engler on Jan. 20, 1940, in Union City, N.J. She died in 1971.
Mr. Fuster worked as a dairy farmer on Long Island, N.Y., and in New Jersey, and later as a bartender and waiter at the Stork Club in New York City. He worked as a civilian boiler welder on naval destroyers in Hoboken, N.J., during World War II, and in 1944 he and his wife bought a farm in Pittsfield, “Swiss Farm Lodge,” which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1976.
He served the town of Pittsfield in various capacities for more than 27 years.
Survivors include two sons, Jo-seph R. Fuster of Pittsfield and De-n-nis J. Fuster of Columbiana, Ohio; two daughters, Sandra F. Begin of Pittsfield and Rosalie F. Benson of Bethel; a brother, Pius Fuster and sister, Marie Zehender, both of Switzerland; 11 grandchil-dren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two bro-thers, Leo and Franz Fuster of Switzerland; and a sister, Rosalie Fuster of Switzerland.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bethel with the Rev. Lance Har-low officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Village Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Sun-day from 3 to 5 p.m. at Day Funeral Home in Randolph.

WEST RUTLAND — The funer-al Mass for John P. Dido (Dydo) Sr., 72, who died July 24, 2001, in Rutland, was held Friday at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church with the Rev. Frank S. Warzocha, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Organist was Dorothy Blicharz.
Reader was Joseph F. Czachor.
Bearers were Paul Dunchus, Ducky Grabowski and Joseph Nartowicz, all of West Rutland, Mark Drop of Hydeville, Stanley Nartowicz of Rutland and John Blanchard of Ira.
A prayer service was held Thurs-day at Mullin-Clifford Funeral Home by the Rev. Warzocha.
Arrangements were under the di-rection of Clifford Funeral Home.
Frederick Bartholomew rites
BENSON — The funeral Mass for Frederick G. Bartholomew, 91, who died July 24, 2001, was celebrat-ed Friday at Our Lady of Seven Dol-ors Catholic Church in Fair Haven with the Rev. James Shea officiating.
Concelebrant was Jon Ramey, deacon at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Montgomery Center. Burial followed in Fair View Cemetery in Benson.
Ministers of the altar were Dom-inic Amerio, Joseph Drain and Clem Levesque.
Organist was Nancy Wetherby assisted by the church choir.
Readers were Laura Thomas and Jennifer Lotane, granddaugh-ters. The homily was given by Dea-con Ramey.
The Crippen Fellows Post 50, Amer-ican Legion of Castleton provided military honors. Royal Shee-ley and Gordon Austin presented the flag to Mr. Bartholo-mew’s son, Robert.
Bearers were Chris Gearwar, Michael Lotane, Scott Ramey, John Trembley Jr., Steven Ramey and James Ramey.
A Christian wake service was conducted Thursday evening at the Durfee Funeral Home by the Rev. Shea.
Arrangements were under the direction of Durfee Funeral Home in Fair Haven.
Allan C. Kane rites
KILLINGTON — The prayer service for Allan C. Kane, 69, who died July 25, 2001, was held Friday at Aldous Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas V. Mattison of Christ the King Church officiating.
The American Legion Post 31 provided military honors. James Burke and Dick White made the flag presentation.

Margaret M. Varner
WESTON — Margaret M. Varn-er, 64, died July 26, 2001, at her home after a battle with cancer.

Frank H. Russell Jr.
SALEM, N.Y. — Frank H. Russell Jr., 30, died July 26, 2001, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born Jan. 12, 1971, in Camp Pendleton, Calif., son of Frank H. and Rebecca (Discepolo) Russell of Salem.
He graduated from Arlington Memorial High School in Arling-ton in 1989.
He enjoyed woodworking, an-tique car restoration, golfing, boating and snowmobiling.
Survivors include his parents; his wife of eight years, Christina (Holton) Russell of Salem; two sisters, Rachel Ward of St. Albans, Vt., and Sarah Russell of Salem; a brother, Jeremy Russell of Salem; a niece; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his ma-ternal grandmother, Edna Dis-cepolo.
The graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Ever-green Cemetery in Arlington, Vt., with the Rev Bradford Clark, rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Arlington, officiating.
Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McClellan Fu-neral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to a memorial fund in his memory, in care of The Merchants Bank, Route 7, Manchester Center, Vt., 05255.

BELLOWS FALLS — A committal service for Betty G. Darrell Wade, who died Jan. 17, 2001, will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery in Bellows Falls.

Corine E. Strom
PROCTOR — Corine Eva Strom, 94, a longtime resident of Proctor, died July 28, 2001, at Eden Park Nursing Home following a long illness.
She was born Aug. 15, 1909, in Montreal, the daughter of Olier and Corine (Martineau) St. Denis.
During World War II, she helped with defense work in Center Rutland.
She worked at the Proctor Creamery for many years until it closed.
Mrs. Strom was a member of St. Dominic’s Church in Proctor.
Survivors include a niece, Marguerite Lovering of Wallingford, and a nephew, Henry Duskett of Proctor.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Strom; a sister, Marguerite St. Denis Duskett; and five brothers, Olier, Hector, Henry, William and Julian St. Denis.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Dominic’s Cemetery.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Aldous Funeral Home, 44 North Main St., Rutland.
Margaret C. Vaughan Rites
FAIR HAVEN — A funeral Mass for Mrs. Margaret C. Vaughan, 84, who died July 24, 2001, was held Saturday at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Fair Haven. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fair Haven.
The Rev. James Shea officiated.
Organist was Nancy Wetherby, assisted by the church choir. Soloists were Joan Durant and Peter Laramie.
Bearers were Brian Vaughan, Rick Vaughan, Jeremy White, Michael Gates, Brian Dunleavy and Michael Lipka.
A wake was conducted Friday evening by the Rev. Shea at the Durfee Funeral Home in Fair Haven.
Donald C. Gemmell Rites
A celebration of life was held Sunday at the Middletown Springs Community Church for Donald C. Gemmell, 67, who died July 14, 2001. The Rev. Roland Mitcheson, pastor of the Middletown Springs Community Church, and the Rev. Robert Flower, pastor of the South Granville (N.Y.) Congregational Church, officiated.
Soloists were Marie Case and Kimberly Dimauro, accompanied on guitar by Peter Brink.
Speakers were Donna Eliasson, Lori Doustou and Cindy Ramatowski. Ann Gemmell Moyer read poetry.
The Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home of Poultney was in charge of arrangements.

BRANDON — The funeral service for Faith (Loomis) Havens, 44, of Brandon, who died July 25, 2001, was held Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Rutland. The Rev. Christopher Powell, pastor, officiated.
Organist was James Cassarino.
Bearers were Patrick Bryant, her companion, of Brandon; brothers David Loomis of North Attleboro, Mass., and Peter Loomis of Hinesburg; Nathan Loomis, a nephew, also of North Attleboro; Frank Lyman, a brother-in-law, of Rutland; and Steven Bryant of Whiting.
A prayer service was held Saturday at Clifford Funeral Home by the Rev. Powell.
Elizabeth Baker Rites
The funeral service for Elizabeth “Bettsie” Baker, 54, of Shoreham, N.Y., a former Rutland resident who died July 23, was held Saturday at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Ludlow. The Rev. George Paulin, pastor, officiated. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland with the Rev. Paulin officiating.
Vocalist was Don Hoffer.
Readers were Jeff Lange and Beckey Doppman. Words of remembrance were offered by Susan Fingerhut.
Bearers were her brother, William Gragen of Perkinsville; her son-in-law Joseph Casey, Matthew McGuire and Edward Barbante of Long Island, N.Y.; Jeffrey Lange of Chicago, and Joseph Dobbin of Burlington.
A prayer service was held Friday evening at Clifford Funeral Home by the Rev. Paulin.
