Clyde W. Hall
COMSTOCK, N.Y. — Clyde W. “Pete” Hall, 77, died April 26, 2001, at his home after a long illness.
He was born May 23, 1923, in Comstock on the family farm, son of William and Cora (Kelly) Hall.
He worked on the family farm and was a self-employed trucker for many years. After selling the farm, he worked for the town of Fort Ann Highway Department until his retirement in 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl (Fredette) Hall; two daughters, Sylvia Dufford of Ticonderoga and Sharyn Heath of Comstock; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred “Peggy” and Marion “Sally”; and a brother, Edgar.
The memorial service will be held Sunday, May 6, at 3 p.m. at the North Granville United Methodist Church in North Granville with the Rev. Meredith Vanderminden, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in North Granville Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.

Frances M. Corsones
Frances M. “Fran” Corsones, 64, of Port Richey, Fla., and formerly of Rutland, died April 26, 2001, in Hudson, Fla.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Port Richey, Fla., from Rutland in 1980.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Leo’s University in San Antonio, Fla.
She worked as a quality control director for Community Hospital in New Port Richey, Fla.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Hudson, Fla.
Survivors include a son, Frank Corsones of New Port Richey, Fla.; a daughter, Allison Ann Corsones of Port Richey, Fla.; a brother, Frank J. Mendolia of Oviedo, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Hudson, Fla.

Joan R. Griffin
PROCTOR — The funeral service for Joan R. Griffin, 67, who died Jan. 3, 2001, will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery in Proctor with the Rev. Eric VanLeeuwen, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Proctor, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
William F. Graves
WALLINGFORD — The graveside service for William F. Graves, 69, who died March 20, 2001, at his residence, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Green Hill Cemetery in Wallingford with the Rev. Donald Caskie Jr., pastor of the Wallingford Congregational Church, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics of Vermont, in care of Mr. Fred Wortman, 29 Ronaldo Court, Rutland, 05701, or the American Cancer Society, Vermont Division Inc., 13 Loomis St., Montpelier, 05602.

Mary S. Carrara rites
The funeral for Mary Stella Carrara, 87, of Rutland, who died April 25, 2001, at Rutland Regional Medical Center, was held Friday at Christ the King Church with the Rev. Reid Mayo, pastor, celebrating the Rite of Christian Burial. Burial followed in St. Patrick Cemetery in Wallingford with the Rev. Edward Hart, interim pastor of St. Patrick Church, officiating at the graveside service.
Organist was Sister Pauline Gratton and vocalist was Olivia Gawet.
Bearers were Matthew Gage, Ryan Carrara, Christian Carrara, David Carrara, Philip Savery and Richard Gage.

Paul L. Hard rites
PITTSFORD — The funeral for Paul L. Hard, 66, who died April 22, 2001, was held Friday at the Pittsford Congregational Church with Pastor Joan Smith officiating. The committal service followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford.
Organist was Stu James and soloist was Matthew Harvey.
Readers were Mac Edwards and Jeffrey Hard. Words of remembrance were given by Donald Hard and Susan Durand.
Arrangements were under the direction of Barnard Funeral Home.
Beatrice A. LaRock rites
BRANDON — A private graveside committal service and burial for Beatrice Anna LaRock, 83, who died Dec. 14, 2000, was held Friday in Forest Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Richard White, pastor of the Brandon Congregational Church, officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
Clare Finnessy rites
PROCTOR — The funeral service for Clare (Markham) Finnessy, 100, former resident of Proctor and Lake Hortonia, who died April 23, 2001, at Eden Park Nursing Home in Rutland, was held Friday at St. Dominic’s Church in Proctor with the Rev. Raymond Walsh, chaplain of the Loretto Home in Rutland, officiating.
Organist was Margaret Curtis and vocalist was Sister Francis Patrick Dunn. Readers were Sister Frances Markham, a niece, and Teresa Markham Narconk, a grandniece. Words of remembrance were given by Sean Markham, a grandnephew.
Bearers were Sam McCormick of Fair Haven, Ronald Oakman of Proctor, Donald Johnson of Bennington and Sean Markham of Atlanta.
Arrangement were under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
Harry E. Piccini rites
The funeral Mass for Harry E. Piccini, 88, of Essex Junction and formerly of Rutland, who died April 23, 2001, in Burlington, was celebrated Friday at St. Peter Church with the Rev. W. Andre Houle, pastor, as celebrant. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery.
Organist was William Gower-Johnson and vocalist was Helen Davidson. Readers were Jackie Labrecque and Eileen Bouvier.
Bearers were Edward Walsh of Needham, Mass., Chris Crowley of Port Washington, N.Y., Tim Crowley of Manhattan, George Schalk of Salem, N.H., Anthony Piccini of Chandler, Ariz., John Louras of Rutland and Angela Piccini of South Burlington.
A prayer service was held Friday at the Clifford Funeral Home by the Rev. Houle.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
Chester Rostkowski rites
MIDDLETOWN SPRINGS — The funeral for Chester S. Rostkowski, 83, who died April 23, 2001, at Eden Park Nursing Home, was held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in West Rutland with the Rev. Frank S. Warzocha, pastor, officiating. Concelebrant was the Rev. Adam Krempa, pastor of St. Raphael’s Church in Poultney and St. Anne’s Church in Middletown Springs. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Ministers of the altar were Joseph F. Czachor and Leo Haick. Organist was Dorothy Blicharz, who accompanied the church choir. Flutist was Charleen Rostkowski-Beebe, a daughter, of Ontario, Canada. Readers were Benjamin Rosko, a son and Matthew Beebe, a grandson.
Bearers were Sigismund Wysolmerski and Thomas Sabotka of Rutland, John Wysolmerski of New Haven, Conn., Richard Geoghegan of Sparta, N.J., John Sabotka of New Hartford, N.Y., Matthew Beebe of Ontario, Canada, Brian Tarbell and Rodney Tarbell of Middletown Springs.
Prayers services were held Thursday evening at the Mullin-Clifford Funeral Home by the Rev. Warzocha.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home.
Lillian B. Young
ARLINGTON — Lillian Bowen Young, 79, died April 27, 2001, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center after a period of declining health.
She was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Bennington, daughter of Roy and Eva (Thayer) Bowen.
She married William I. Young on July 3, 1943, in Arlington.
Mrs. Young worked at the Orvis Co. in Manchester for several years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Bennington County Home Demonstration Group and a former 4-H leader.
She enjoyed sewing.
Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Kathy Whitman of North Bennington; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
At Mrs. Young’s request, there will be no funeral services.

Elizabeth Baldwin
DORSET — Elizabeth Baldwin of Dorset, Vt., and Vero Beach, Fla., died April 25, 2001. She was born in Toronto, Canada on May 30, 1938.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her children, Wendy and Michael Darragh, Jonathan, Lesley and her grandson, Michael Shane. She is also survived by her sister, Heather Cartwright and brother, Robert Kenwright.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 4, at 11 a.m. in Dorset, Vt., at the United Church of Dorset.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Church of Dorset and the Dorset Nursing Association.
Pattyann R. Smith
SAXTONS RIVER — Pattyann Riendeau Smith, 47, died April 11, 2001, at her home in Dunedin, Fla.
She was born Nov. 26, 1953, in Saxtons River.
She attended schools in Saxtons River and Bellows Falls and Chester High School.
She was a longtime resident of Dunedin, Fla., and worked in various nursing homes in the area.
Survivors include her foster mother, Lucy Wilson, and her niece, Lisa Smith of Florida; six brothers, Arthur Riendeau of Jesup, Ga., Gordon Riendeau of Screven, Ga., Joseph Riendeau of Rockingham, Lawrence Riendeau of New Hampshire, Francis Riendeau Sr. of Lower Bartonsville and Donald Riendeau of Bellows Falls; three sisters, Sandra Batson of Nashville, Tenn., Florence Wilson of Saxtons River and Louise Hamilton of Westminster; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by two brothers, George and Fred; and a sister, Elizabeth.
The graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, May 6, at 1 p.m. in Saxtons River Cemetery in Saxtons River with the Rev. Pete Hults officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Edward E. Sullivan rites
BENNINGTON — The funeral service for Edward E. Sullivan, a former resident of Madison, Conn., who died April 24, 2001, in Bennington, was held Friday at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael A. Demasi officiating. Burial followed in White Chapel Cemetery.
The American Legion Post 13 provided military honors. Ralph Brown and Joseph Krawczyk presented the flag to Mr. Sullivan’s daughter, Doreen Barzilauskas. Taps were sounded by Maurice Rancourt.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
Bernice B. Hill
RANDOLPH — Bernice B. Hill, 89, of Benson, Ariz., and formerly of Randolph, died April 24, 2001, in Benson, Ariz., where she has resided for the past 20 years.
She was born Jan. 1, 1912, in Morristown, daughter of John and Lottie (Button) Bettis.
She was married Wallace Hill, who died in 1965.
Mrs. Hill worked as a grocery clerk at Don Stone’s in Randolph and Snowsville General Store. She retired as a nurse’s aid from Tranquility Nursing Home.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and crafts.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Small of West Brookfield, Janice Palmer of Williamstown and Elizabeth Martell of Benson, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Charles Pitkin, who died in 1950.
Services will be held Friday in Benson, Ariz. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Pleasant View Cemetery in Randolph with the Rev. John Milanese officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
