Geneva J. Plante
BELLOWS FALLS — Geneva J. Plante, 75, of Bellows Falls died April 21, 2001, at Springfield Hospital.
She was born Aug. 30, 1925, in Grand Isle, the daughter of Ralph and Jetta (Norton) Jacobs.
She attended schools in Bellows Falls and graduated from Bellows Falls High School.
She married Raymond Plante Sr. on Sept. 15, 1943. He died in 1968.
She worked for Hubbard Farms in Walpole, N.H., retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Plante enjoyed gardening.
She was a member of St. Charles Church in Bellows Falls.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Plante Jr. of Manchester; two daughters, Diane Bumford and Geraldine Dzialo, both of Bellows Falls; two sisters, Mavis Mondeau of Westminster and Hester Huse of Goshen, Ala., five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Delos H. Jacobs, and a sister, Isobel Alexander.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at the Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls at 10 a.m.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Bellows Falls.
Alta E. Miller
WHITEHALL, N.Y. — Alta E. Miller, 74, died April 21, 2001, at Rutland Regional Medical Center following a long illness.
She was born March 28, 1927, in Whitehall, the daughter of Elmer L. And Delma (Rushia) Parrot Sr.
She was a graduate of Austin Beauty School in Albany. She owned and operated Alta’s Beauty Shop in Whitehall for 38 years.
She enjoyed going for rides and shopping.
Survivors include her husband, Paul L. Miller of Whitehall; a daughter, Paula D. Carpenter of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three sons, William L. Miller of Granville, David P. Miller of Queensbury and Paul M. Miller of Hampton; a sister, Veronia D’Aniello of East Haven, Conn.; five grandsons, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Jillson Funeral Home, 46 Williams St., Whitehall, with the Rev. C. Don Wheeler, pastor of the Whitehall United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery in Whitehall.
Fiends may call at the Jillson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The Skenesborough Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star 663 will conduct a wake service at 7 p.m.

Paul H. Fagon
Paul H. Fagon, 47, of Denver, formerly of Rutland, died April 20, 2001, at his residence after a long illness.
He was born Jan. 16, 1954, in Rutland, son of Alfred J. and Dolores Ann (Conant) Fagon.
Mr. Fagon enlisted in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge.
He enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively throughout the United States. He also enjoyed stamp collecting and fishing.
Survivors include his father of Swanton; five sisters, Mary Olson of Rutland Town, Julia Thayer of Arkansas, Joan Fagon, Louise Lawrence and Ellen Granger, all of Rutland; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother in 1996.
The graveside service will be held in the Danby-Scottsville Cemetery at a later date.
There will be no calling hours.

Althea Tiraboschi
Althea M. "Pat" (Witham) Tiraboschi, 79, of Rutland died April 22, 2001, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 12, 1922, in West Rutland.
She married Angelo Tiraboschi on Jan. 20, 1945, at Christ the King Church. He died in 1989.
Mrs. Tiraboschi was a member of Christ the King Church.
She enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include two sons, Angelo "Terry" Tiraboschi Jr. of Bomoseen and Laurence Tiraboschi of Rutland Town; two brothers, Edwin T. Witham of Rutland and Arthur Witham of West Rutland; four sisters, Leah Romeo and Lois Wortman, both of Rutland, Alta Johnston of Ira and Josephine Clifford of Yarmouth, Mass.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Adelbert Witham; and two sisters, Edith Priest and Myrtha Brown, who died April 18, 2001.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Church. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Clifford Funeral Home.

Paul L. Hard
FLORENCE - Paul L. Hard, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Rutland Regional Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1934, in Bennington, Vt., the son of Harvey and Ethel (McDermott) Hard.
He attended grammar school in Chiselville, graduated from Arlington Memorial High School in 1952 and from Vermont Technical College in 1953. He was formerly employed at Mack Molding and as a caretaker in Manchester and Dorset. In 1956 he married Priscilla Harwood in Dorset, Vt. Together they started dairy farming in 1957 and purchased their own dairy farm in Florence naming it "Our Farm" in 1966, which is still in operation.
Paul enjoyed bowling, country music, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla of Florence; two sons, James and his wife, Debbie, of Brandon and Douglas and his wife, Dorothy, of Florence; two daughters, Julie Keith and her husband, Edward Jr., of Pittsford and Kristie Johnson and her husband, Michael, of North Clarendon; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Lindsay and Jodie of Brandon, Steven and Bradley of Pittsford, Brett of North Clarendon, Dustin and Dan of Florence; one sister, Susan Durand and her husband, Harold, of Arlington; one brother, Donald Hard and his wife, Jane, of Springfield, Virginia; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 27, at the Pittsford Congregational Church at 1 p.m. with a reception for family and friends immediately following in the church hall. A graveside committal will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford at 3:30 p.m.

Harry E. Piccini, 88, of Rutland and Essex Junction died April 23, 2001, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

PROCTOR - Clare (Markham) Finnessy, 100, a former resident of Proctor and Lake Hortonia, died April 23, 2001, at Eden Park Nursing Home in Rutland. Her husband, Dr. John J. Finnessy, died in 1971.

MIDDLETOWN SPRINGS - Chester S. Rostkowski, 83, died April 23, 2001, at Eden Park Nursing Home in Rutland.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

FAIR HAVEN - Mary Jane (Noble) Washburn, 73, died April 22, 2001, at Rutland Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Cheryl L. Hackett
The funeral service for Cheryl L. Hackett, 36, who died April 20, 2001, will be held today at 10 a.m. at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Proctor.
Survivors include Ms. Hackett's fiancé, Bruce Taylor Jr., who was omitted from the obituary.

Davenport, Fla. - The memorial service for Lawrence Arthur "Larry" Grupe, 54, who died April 21, 2001, will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Polo Park Community Center in Davenport. A memorial service will take place in Vermont at a later date. Burial will be in East Clarendon (Vt.) Cemetery.
Survivors include Mr. Grupe's son, Scott of Davenport, who was omitted from the obituary.

PITTSFORD - The graveside committal service for William R. Cornell, 65, who died Dec. 24, 2000, will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford with the Rev. Russ Gates, pastor of the Union Church of Proctor, officiating.

Anthony Catalone
OSWEGO, N.Y. - Anthony Catalone, 71, died April 21, 2001, at University Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Oswego and had been a lifetime resident.
He retired from the Laborers Local 214 in Oswego in 1986.
Mr. Catalone was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Oswego.
Survivors include three sons, Anthony Catalone, John M. Catalone and Mark D. Catalone, all of Oswego; two daughters, Donna Marie Catalone of Rutland, Vt., and Michele Chappell of Oswego; a brother, George Catalone of Oswego; two sisters, Beatrice Denny and Josephine Jadus, both of Oswego; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Joan I. Catalone in 1999; a son, Michael D. Catalone in 1965; and two brothers, Joseph Catalone in 1988 and Andrew Catalone in 1985.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. at the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home in Oswego, and continue at St. Mary's Church in Oswego at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Oswego.
Calling hours will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
