Margaret E. McLenithan
BENNINGTON - Margaret E. McLenithan, 88, a former resident of Bennington and more recently a resident of Plainfield, N.J., died Feb. 20, 2001, at Norwood Terrace Health Center in Plainfield, N.J., after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 1, 1913, in Bennington, daughter of William and Anne (Nolan) Haskell.
She received her education in Bennington.
Mrs. McLenithan was an avid reader.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda A. Pello of Wallingford, Conn.; a son, Gordon J. McLenithan of Watchung, N.J.; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, John G. McLenithan, who died in 1961; a son, Nolan McLenithan; a sister, Mary Pinsonneault; and a brother, Edward Haskell.
The funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home with a prayer and at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 10 a.m., where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered by the Rev. Laurence M. Olszewski, pastor. Burial will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls, N.Y.
Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home. The vigil service will be held this evening.

Robert W. Macksey
ARLINGTON - Robert W. Macksey, 78, a longtime resident of Arlington and most recently of Equinox Terrace in Manchester Center, died Feb. 21, 2001, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
He was born April 24, 1922, in East Orange, N.J., son of James F. and Mary T. (Coleman) Macksey.
He grew up in Manchester, Conn., and graduated from Manchester High School in Connecticut. After graduation he moved to Arlington in 1940.
Mr. Macksey served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a staff sergeant in the 128th Army Airway. He was an air traffic controller and served in Burma. Mr. Macksey received the American Theater Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.
Mr. Macksey married Marjorie Thompson on Aug. 9, 1947, at St. Columban's Church in Arlington. She died in 1984.
He worked for Mack Molding, retiring after 45 years as the vice president of sales. Following his retirement he did consulting work.
He was a communicant of St. Margaret Mary's Church in Arlington, life member of the Hump Pilots Association, member of the Plastic Pioneers, the Society Plastics Industry, charter member of the Arlington Chorale, and charter member and past president of the Arlington Lions Club. He also sat on the Board of Directors at Mack Molding until November.
He enjoyed spending time at his summer home on Lake Rescue in Ludlow.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Thomas E. Macksey of Shaftsbury and John T. Macksey of Arlington; two daughters, Barbara M. Annetts of Morrisville and Jean M. Trudel of Pawlet; a brother, John C. Macksey of New Milford, Conn.; nine grandchildren; four nieces; and a nephew.
He was predeceased by a brother, James Macksey; and a sister, Margaret Miner.
A prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Arlington Chapel followed by the Mass of Christian Death and Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary's Church. Interment will follow in St. Columban's Cemetery in Arlington.
Friends may call Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Arlington Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Manchester Visiting Nurse Association, or the Bennington Chapter of the American Red Cross, or the Arlington Recreational Park, in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Arlington Chapel, P.O. Box 528, Arlington, 05250.

Ethel Sirota
ROCHESTER - Ethel "Aunt Ethel" Sirota, 90, died Feb. 21, 2001, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.
Arrangements are pending with the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
Bruce C. Grover rites
CHESTER - The funeral for Bruce Chapman Grover, 54, who died Feb. 16, 2001, was held at the Chester Congregational Church in Chester with the Rev. Thomas Charleton of the First Baptist Church of Chester officiating.
Organist was Chris Thayer.
Organizations attending the service included members of the American Legion Post 67 of Chester leading the honor guard and many other Legion Posts throughout the state.
A reception followed in the Chester Legion Hall.

Richard B. Hussey rites
SPRINGFIELD - The funeral for Richard B. Hussey, 59, who died Feb.16, 2001, was held Tuesday at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield with the Rev. Richard Cedarholm of the North Springfield Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in North Springfield at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
Walter H. Lampert rites
LUDLOW - The funeral for Walter H. Lampert, 81, who died Feb. 18, 2001, was held Wednesday at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield with the Rev. Gail Twine officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Ludlow at a later date.

Loretta E. Disorda
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Loretta Edna Disorda, 61, died Feb. 19, 2001.

John F. Adams
MIDDLEBURY - John Franklin Adams passed away suddenly Tuesday afternoon, February 20, 2001, after a 71-year celebration of life.
He was born December 27, 1929, in Putney, Vt., son of John Butler Adams and Alta Laura Cooley. He attended Putney schools and earned his master's degree in education at the University of Vermont.
In June 1956 he married Hazel (Terry) Cadieux of Hartford, Conn., and together they dedicated and lived their life together, dedicated to the Lord.
He is survived by his wife and children, Jeffrey and Sherri Adams, granddaughters, Megan, Jillian and Lauren of Risingsun, Ohio; Susan and Brian Haviland, grandchildren, Jessica and Bryan Wilkinson of Rutland, and Linda and Robert Berard with grandchildren, Alyssa and Robbi of Avilla, Ind.
He was predeceased by two half-sisters, Eleanor Smith and Marjorie Morse.
John was a member of the Leicester Church of the Nazarene, where he has dedicated his life to living as the Lord would have him do, inspiring others to do the same. He served on many committees, beginning the youth program Carivan, Sunday School superintendent and teacher, Building Committee and Missionary president. He and his wife served on Missionary Work and Witness in Trinidad, where he touched the lives of many. A teacher of Vocational Agriculture for 36 years, he always encouraged others to continue to learn and grow. After retiring he continued to serve others, always lending a hand, advise, support or a prayer to ease other's burden.
He was a life member of the Green Mountain Club where he enjoyed many hours hiking and taking in the beauty of God's creation. He was active in youth organizations, a life member of the Future Farmers of America where he served as an advisor for many years, a 4-H county agent in Lamoille County, and served as a treasurer for the Downer 4-H Camp. He was inspired by the Men's Promise Keepers and Gideon's; he gained many brothers in God and found that they enriched his life through their belief and sharing of the Spirit.
John cherished time spent with the children, grandchildren, and the many children who were privileged enough to have know him. He will be missed by many. He is in a better place, he is home.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24, at 10 a.m. at the Leicester Church of the Nazarene. There will be no public calling hours.

Ruth S. Herrick
Ruth Squier Herrick, 93, died Feb. 26, 2001, at Rutland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born June 24, 1907, in Clarendon, daughter of George A. and Anna (Page) Squier.
She graduated from Rutland High School in 1925 and Castleton Teachers College in 1956.
Mrs. Herrick taught school in the Clarendon and Rutland schools for 19 years, and was a principal in Rutland. She retired in 1972.
Survivors include two sons, Col. Robert T. Herrick of Hyannis, Mass., and Dr. William C. Herrick of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three daughters, Cornelia Herrick Dragon of Keene, N.H., Jane Herrick Hall of Tucson, Ariz., and Nancy Herrick Edney of Barnet; a brother, George A. Squier of Clarendon; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Torrey Herrick, in 1996; and a daughter, Virginia Louise Herrick, in 1999.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Tossing Funeral Home, 39 Washington St., Rutland. Burial will follow in East Clarendon.
A reception will follow the burial at the Grange Hall in North Clarendon.
Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Concetta A. Ray rites
The graveside service for Concetta Alexandra Ray, 94, of Rutland, who died Feb. 23, 2001, at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, was held Monday in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cemetery Avenue, Manands, Albany, N.Y., with the Rev. John Connelly, chaplain, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund at Pleasant Manor Residential Home, 46 Nichols St., Rutland, 05701.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Aldous Funeral Home.
Elizabeth Clarino rites
The funeral for Elizabeth (Harrington) Clarino, 89, of Rutland, who died Feb. 22, 2001, at Mountain View Genesis Eldercare Center, was held Tuesday at St. Peter's Church with the Rev. W. Andre Houle, pastor, officiating. Concelebrant was the Rev. Dennis Breton, pastor of Holy Cross Church in Morrisville. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery.
Organist was James Cassarino and vocalist was Helen Davidson.
Readers were William Gladski and James Rock.
Prayers of the faithful were offered by Louise Clarino.
Words of remembrance were given by a son, Salvatore J. Clarino Jr., CWO, USCG, retired.
Ministers of the altar were Alfred Flory, Robert Tedesco, Al Michael Cioffi and Joseph Tilden.
Bearers were Michael C. St. Louis of Winooski, Matthew D. St. Louis of Burlington, Salvatore J. Clarino III of Norwich, Conn., Mario J. Clarino, Anthony J. Clarino and Christopher Clarino, all of Rutland.
Honorary bearers were members of the Sodality of the Most Holy Rosary and the Legion of Mary. Members were Ann Davidson, Mary Dellveneri, Mary Pockette, Irene Hughes, Jean Kelly and Madeline LaVecchia. Banner bearers were Elizabeth Vail and Edith Hurley.
Prayer services were held Monday afternoon at the Clifford Funeral Home by the Rev. Houle.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
Nancy M. Townsend
SHARON - Nancy M. Townsend, 56, died Feb. 24, 2001, at Gifford Memorial Hospital in Randolph.
She was born Aug. 14, 1944, in Providence, R.I., daughter of Charles and Louise (Painter) McTammany.
She graduated from high school in Cranston, R.I., and Roger Williams General Hospital School of Nursing in Providence.
She married Earl E. Townsend in Cranston in 1965. They moved to Sharon in 1986.
Mrs. Townsend was employed as a registered nurse at Roger Williams General Hospital and later as an OB/GYN nurse at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, both in Lebanon, N.H. She also worked at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin and Gifford Memorial Hospital.
She enjoyed knitting and reading.
Survivors include her husband of Sharon; a sister, Judy Palocek of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two foster children, Joseph Martin and James O'Neil of Sharon.
The memorial service will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Sharon Congregation Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction.
Joseph L. Michaud rites
MIDDLEBURY - The funeral Mass for Joseph L. Michaud, 87, who died Feb. 23, 2001, in Burlington, was celebrated Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. John McDermott as celebrant. Interment and committal services will be held at a later date in Prospect Cemetery in East Middlebury.
Organist was Kevin Parizo.
Bearers were Mike Mayone, Mike Newton, Chris Burritt, Jerry Munson, David Lebel and Ronald Michaud.
