Peter Augustine Murray
CHESTER - Peter Augustine Murray Life Summary: On Sunday morning, February 18, 2001, Peter Augustine Murray was called home to God. Though unexpected, his passing was as he lived his life ... in peace.
Peter Augustine Murray was born on November, 20, 1933, in Somerville, Massachusetts. He was the son of Thomas J. and Catharine Hanley Murray.
He leaves behind his wife Nikki Geannelis and daughter Hanley Murray. His other children include Peter Murray, Paula Philbrick, Jodie Rand, Jackie Murray and five grandchildren.
While residing in Chester, Vermont, (as he did in Somerville, Massachusetts, where Peter was born and raised), he and his wife Nikki gave of their home as a spiritual retreat, aiding hundreds of people who simply asked for the help. Truly one of God's instruments, Peter was a cherished gift to all the lives he touched, which were many and far-reaching. As a spiritual advisor, he shared his wisdom and a very special connection with his friend God to anyone who asked. He loved his work and he loved all the many spirits who blessed his life through his dedication to their well-being. His passion in life to helping others is a legacy he leaves to his wife Nikki and their child Hanley to carry on. Peter's spirit will continue to help his family and friends from his new home in heaven.
As he wished, there will be no funeral, but rather a "Going Home" party to celebrate Peter's life. In fact, there will be two parties, so that all who wish can come and honor this very special man, this beloved child of God. Please join us in Massachusetts, on Saturday, February 24, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., where Peter will be honored at St. Anne's Hall in Somerville located on 50 Thurston Street; Or/and join us in Vermont, on Sunday, March 4, for a second "Going Home" party that will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Masonic Temple on Main Street in Chester.
Donations can be made to The Peter Murray Memorial Fund, which will allow Nikki and Hanley to carry on Peter's dream: to aid anyone in need who simply asks for help.
