Eileen Conway

BIG BEND, Wis. - Eileen Conway, 54, died Feb. 9, 2001, in Big Bend.

She was born Sept. 15, 1946, in Proctor, daughter of James and Marjorie Conway.

Services will be held Monday in Wisconsin.

Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society, Vermont Division, 13 Loomis St., Montpelier, 05602.

Bernard E. Barcomb rites

The funeral for Bernard E. Barcomb, 61, of Rutland, who died Feb. 6, 2001, at Rutland Regional Medical Center, was held Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Audrey Murdock officiating. A reception followed at the Rutland Moose Club.

Organist was Betty Clark.

The eulogy was given by Brenda Shaw, a daughter.

Bearers were Tom Woodbury, Lynne Cole, Bernie Alexander, James Pulispher, Rene Curtis and Chris Leno.

Members of the Loyal Order of the Moose 1122 held their fraternal service Thursday evening with Roger West, Dick Snow, Ed Minard, Mike Burke and Kurt Clarkson presiding.

Memorial contributions may be made to Moose Heart, in care of Loyal Order of the Moose, 78 Center St., Rutland, 05701.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Aldous Funeral Home.

Carol B. Robinson

SAXTONS RIVER - Carol B. Robinson, 76, died Feb. 7, 2001, at her home.

She was born Dec. 8, 1924, in Seattle, daughter of Henry W. and Blanche (Cameron) Beecher, and great-granddaughter of Henry Ward Beecher, the 19th century preacher.

She attended schools in Seattle, and graduated magna cum laude from Windham College in Putney in 1973.

She married David Robinson III on Dec. 9, 1944. He died in 1995.

Mrs. Robinson volunteered for many local organizations, including Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Bellows Falls.

Survivors include three sons, David Robinson IV of Saxtons River, James Beecher Robinson of Hinesburg and George Alexander Robinson of Londonderry, N.H.; and a niece and nephew.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Henry Ward Beecher III.

The memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Falls Scholarship Trust Fund, in memory of Henry Ward Beecher, in care of Dr. Timothy Johnson, president, Rockingham Street, Bellows Falls, 05101.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls.

Rose B. Dutille

WILDER - Rose B. Dutille, 83, died Feb. 8, 2001, at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Junction.

She was born Aug. 6, 1917, in Graniteville, daughter of Charles and Alphonsine (Bourget) Poulin.

She attended school in Graniteville and later moved to Hanover, N.H., where she worked for Professor Goddard as a housekeeper and nanny. She later worked for the Hartford School District as a cafeteria worker for more than 10 years, retiring in 1973.

She married Stephen A. Dutille on May 20, 1940, in Graniteville. He died in 1992.

Survivors include two daughters, Lois Nostrant of Enfield, N.H., and Dawn Reed of Quechee; a sister, Annette Grenon of Barre; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Lawrence, Harvey and Paul Poulin; and four sisters, Lillian Patenaude, Leona Wildbur, Helen Tortora and Henrietta Inglis.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church in White River Junction. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in White River Junction.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knight Funeral Home.

Harry E. Wilbur

GRAFTON - Harry Edward Wilbur, 63, died Feb. 9, 2001, at his home.

Funeral arrangements are pending with the Adams and Kenney Funeral Home in Chester.

Maurice Trachier

WINDSOR - Maurice Trachier, 90, died Feb. 9, 2001, at Mount Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.

He was born Oct. 19, 1910, in Hanover, N.H., son of Phillip and Mary (Sicard) Trachier.

He graduated from Hanover High School in 1930.

Mr. Trachier married Florence Best on March 24, 1943, in Hartford. They lived in Deland, Fla., for six years, and later returned to the Upper Valley and lived in Woodstock.

He worked as a bell boy at the Hanover Inn in New Hampshire for a short time, as a plumber in Deland, Fla., for six years, and as a plumbing and heating technician for Leonard Plumbing and Heating in Woodstock until retiring in 1972. After retiring he and his wife moved to Olcott Falls Manor in Wilder in 1998.

Mr. Trachier was a lifelong member of the local, state and national granges.

He enjoyed dancing.

Survivors include a son, Roger P. Trachier of Hartland; a daughter, Louise Maville of Lebanon, N.H.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Phillip Trachier and James Trachier; and five sisters, Emma Fortier, Hazel King, Hilda Burns, Agnes Ring and Grace O'Rielly.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Knight Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bugbee Senior Center, P.O. Box 158, White River Junction, 05001, the Stoughton House, 46 N. Main St., Windsor, 05089, or Mount Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, 289 County Road, Windsor, 05089.

William A. Johnson

CONCORD, N.H. - William Andrew Johnson, 50, died Feb. 9, 2001, at the Hospice of Concord.

Funeral arrangements are pending with the Atamaniuk Funeral Home in Brattleboro, Vt.

Sister Juliette Vincent

ST. HYACINTHE, Quebec - Sister Juliette Vincent, 82, formerly of Hartford, Vt., died Feb. 8, 2001.

She was born April 15, 1918, in Canada, daughter of Albondius and Adrienne (LaPorte) Vincent.

She entered the convent at LaSallete Shrine in Enfield, N.H., in 1941 at the age of 18. She received her habit in 1942, and took her first vows in 1944 and her final vows in 1947. She remained at the convent in Enfield until it closed and then went to the LaSallete Convent in St. Hyacinthe. Sister Vincent celebrated her 50th Jubilee on May 14, 1994.

Survivors include 13 brothers and sisters, Noel Vincent of White River Junction, Vt., Mary Davis of Palatka, Fla., Eulalia (Susie) Wilcox of Ocala, Fla., Paul Vincent of Satsuma, Fla., Laurette Woodward of Crestview, Fla., Lucille Follensbee of Lake Geneva, Fla., Daniel Vincent of Tonto Basin, Ariz., Alice Vincent of Springfield, Mo., Robert Vincent of Orange City, Fla., Andrew Vincent of Lebanon, N.H., Francis Vincent of New Brighton, Pa., John Vincent of Sharon, Vt., and Lawrence Vincent of Springhill, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Martha's Convent in Hyacinthe.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Martha, Rue St. Pierre O., St. Hyacinthe, PQ, Canada, J2T-1N7.

Steven J. Wilson

PUTNEY - Steven Joel Wilson, 46, died Feb. 8, 2001, at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 2, 1954, in Bellows Falls, son of Frank and Constance (Roby) Wilson.

He attended Putney schools and graduated from Brattleboro Union High School in 1973. He had also attended Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center.

Mr. Wilson married Pauline Renaud on July 12, 1975, at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

He was co-owner of his family's business, Basketville Inc., in Putney and also owned and operated Wilson's Tree Farm in Putney, where he was a breeder of reindeer.

He served as a former planning commissioner for the town of Putney, was a member of the Vermont/New Hampshire Christmas Tree Growers Association, and was an active member of the Reindeer Owners and Breeders Association.

He loved farming and enjoyed sugaring and logging. He also enjoyed flying and held a pilot's license.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years; three children, Jonathan Wilson of Burlington, Melissa Wilson and Benjamin Wilson, both of Putney; his parents of Putney and Venice, Fla.; a brother, Gregory Wilson of Putney; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, James Wilson and Frank Wilson Jr.

The funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Genesis Church of the Brethren, Kimball Hill, Putney, with Pastor Paul Grout officiating. Committal services and burial will be held at a later date in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Putney. A reception will follow the funeral service in the church's fellowship hall.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home, 40 Terrace St., Brattleboro.

Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Putney Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 875, Putney, 05346, in care of Russ Ellis, chief.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Atamaniuk Funeral Home.

Bernice E. Rec rites

BRATTLEBORO - The funeral Mass for Bernice E. Rec, 83, who died Feb. 7, 2001, at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, was celebrated Friday morning at St. Michael's Catholic Church with the Rev. Stanley Deresienski, SSE, pastor, as celebrant. Committal rites and burial followed in St. Michael's Cemetery.

Lector was Lois Diorio with Jean Highter serving as altar assistant.

Organist was Constance Wallin.

Scriptural readings were given by Lois Diorio and the Rev. Deresienski. Words of remembrance were given by the Rev. Deresienski. The eulogy was given by the pastor.

Pallbearers were Hector Peraza, a son-in-law, Miguel Peraza, Hector Peraza Jr. and John Rec, grandsons, Kevin Mills and Jay Mills, friends of the family.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Atamaniuk Funeral Home in Brattleboro.

Edward P. Doyle rites

BENNINGTON - The funeral service for Edward P. Doyle, who died Feb. 6, 2001, in Sanford, Maine, was held Friday at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church where the funeral Mass was celebrated by the Rev. William H. Kelley, associate pastor. Burial was held in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Organist was Donald McMahon and soloist was Monica A. Murray.

Bearers were Francis "Butch" Corbett, Joseph Wassick, James King, Milton Hattat, Keith Giroux and John Ottaviano Sr.

Sister Ellen Therese offered the prayer service at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home preceding the funeral Mass. The Vermont State Police provided an escort for the funeral procession.

The Rev. Kelley offered the vigil service Thursday evening at the funeral home. Members of the Bennington Elks Lodge 567 also conducted services at the funeral home. Thomas DePollo led members of the Bennington Fire Department in the recitation of the "Firemen's Prayer."

A remembrance gathering for friends and family was held at the Bennington Elks Lodge following the committal service.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.

Charles D. Oakes rites

WOODFORD - The funeral for Charles D. Oakes, who died Feb. 5, 2001, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, was held Friday at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael A. Demasi officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Musical selections offered during the service were "Look at Us" and "Time in a Bottle."

Scriptural readings were given by Caitlin Oakes and Meagan Oakes, granddaughters. Words of remembrance were given by Ronald Oakes and Robert Oakes, his sons, and Jennifer Turkenkopf, his daughter.

A remembrance gathering was held for family and friends at the Oakes residence in Woodford following the funeral service.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.

William W. Cameron III

TUNBRIDGE - William W. Cameron III, 68, died Feb. 9, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Junction.

Funeral arrangements are pending with the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
