Norma T. Eastman
SPRINGFIELD - Norman T. Eastman, 81, died Feb. 8, 2001, at Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 5, 1919, in Springfield, daughter of Clarence and Irene (Saunders) Tarbell.
She attended Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield High School.
She married Norman E. Eastman on Oct. 7, 1939, in Springfield.
Mrs. Eastman worked at the Vermont Research Corp. for several years.
She was a member of the Columbia Rebekah Lodge 21 and the Order of the Eastern Star, both in Springfield.
Survivors include three daughters, Delores Eastman of Bellows Falls, Carol Eastman Kangas of Ludlow and Linda E. Carpenter of Lima, Ohio; two sons, William Eastman and Richard Eastman, both of Springfield; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, who died in 1981; a brother, Roswell Tarbell; and a sister, Pauline Thurber.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Davis Memorial Chapel with Quint Eastman, her grandson, officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Oakland Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.

Maureen Pettigrew
BENNINGTON - Maureen Pettigrew, 62, died Feb. 8, 2001, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born April 7, 1938, in Queens, N.Y., daughter of Bernard A. and Catherine V. (McGuire) Kissane.
She received her education in Queens, N.Y.
She was engaged to be married to Bernard LaBarge of Bennington.
She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1861 Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1332 Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 13 Auxiliary, all of Bennington.
Survivors include her children, Maureen Hull of Elmont, Long Island, N.Y., Patrick Coor of Queens, N.Y., and Charles Coor of Long Island, N.Y.; three grandchildren; her fiance of Bennington; four sisters, Joan Trainor of Queens, N.Y., Maryanne McTigue of Tuckahoe, N.Y., Ellen Kissane of Queens, N.Y., and Grace McGibney of Staten Island, N.Y.; five brothers, Lawrence, Gerard and Al Kissane, all of Florida, and John and Edward Kissane of Queens, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Savage.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home with a prayer and continue at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be held in White Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home. The vigil service will be offered Friday evening.

Bernice E. Rec
BRATTLEBORO - Bernice Elizabeth Rec, 83, died Feb. 7, 2001, at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.
She was born Oct. 7, 1917, in Worcester, Mass., daughter of Frederick and Catherine (Oldham) Brown.
At an early age she moved to Brattleboro, where she attended local schools.
She married Francis Joseph Rec on Aug. 2, 1941, at St. Michael's Catholic Church. He died in 1997.
Mrs. Rec was the bookkeeper for the Fleming Oil Co. for more than 40 years. She had previously worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
She was an avid reader, and enjoyed flowers, gardening, and feeding the birds and squirrels in her neighborhood.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen E. Peraza of Hedgesville, W. Va.; a sister, Mary Heck and a brother, David Brown, both of Millbury, Mass.; three grandchildren and four great-grandsons; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated today at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Committal rites and burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Friends may call today from 9 a.m. until the start of the Mass at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home, 40 Terrace St., Brattleboro.

PUTNEY - Steven J. Wilson, 46, died Feb. 8, 2001, at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

Annabelle M. Ketcham
WHITING - Annabelle Mallory Ketcham, 73, died Feb. 8, 2001, at her home.
She was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Hubbardton, daughter of Fred and Nancy (Howland) Mallory.
She graduated from Brandon High School in 1945.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and working at Elderly Services in Middlebury.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Treverton D. Ketcham of Whiting; two sons, Brock T. Ketcham, MD of Shaftsbury and Shaun D. Ketcham of Sudbury; and four grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three brothers and seven sisters.
The graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Loomis St., Montpelier, 05602.

Frances V. Bradley
MIDDLEBURY - Frances Viola VanDriessche Bradley, 93, died Feb. 7, 2001, at Helen Porter Nursing Home.
She was born April 2, 1907, in Chicago, daughter of Frank and Emily (Hayden) VanDriessche.
She married Arthur E. Brad-ley Sr. on April 26, 1924, in Chicago. He died in 1981.
Mrs. Bradley moved to Vermont in 1926. She was a homemaker, and also worked at the A&P, the Park Restaurant in Vergennes and as a housekeeper at the Basin Harbor Club.
She was a past member of St. Peter's Church in Vergennes and Sts. Donation and Rogation Church in Randolph. She was a member of St. Anne's Society, Autumn Years Club and the Gifford Medical Center Auxiliary.
She loved cats and birds.
Survivors include four sons, Arthur Bradley Jr. of Weybridge, Frank Bradley of Braintree, Donald Bradley of Milton, and Robert Bradley of Addison; five daughters, Elizabeth Barrett of Georgia, Beverly Schroeder of Bristol, Mary Bradley of New Milford, Conn., Florence Martel of Franklin and Bonnie Mainieri of Colchester; a brother, Thomas Maroney of Mount Prospect, Ill.; 48 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by four children Marguerite, Rose Marie, Joyce and an infant son; and three sisters, Marie, Betty and Irene.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Middlebury. Interment and committal services will be held at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery in Braintree.

Frank J. Malinowski
LEICESTER - Frank James Malinowski, 85, died Feb. 7, 2001, at the Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury.
He was born Sept. 7, 1915, in West Rutland, son of Karl and Helen (Geryk) Malinowski.
He received his early education in the Brandon schools.
Mr. Malinowski was a woodsman and had logged for many years. During the mid 1960s he was a heavy equipment operator while working on the construction of Interstate 89 between Waterbury and Montpelier. He later worked at Vermont Marble Co. in Proctor, retiring in 1977.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Miller and Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon with the Rev. Richard White, pastor of the Brandon Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery Receiving Vault in Brandon. A private graveside committal service and burial will be held at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Brandon.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

May L. Brown
WELLS - May Louise Brown, 76, died Feb. 8, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Granville, N.Y., daughter of Raymond and Viola (Sweet) Reed.
She was employed as a school bus driver for many years.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Wells Methodist Church and past president of its Ladies Aid Society.
She enjoyed doing ceramics and teaching her craft to others.
Survivors include two sons, James Brown and Donald Brown, both of Wells; three daughters, Jean Brown and Carla Brown, both of Wells, and Krista Crossman of Castleton; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin J. Brown, in 1977; and a son, Raymond Brown.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, N.Y., with the Rev. Stanley Fry officiating. Burial will be in Wells Cemetery.

Catherine A. Petraglia
Catherine Ann Petraglia, 86, of Rutland died Thursday evening, February 9, 2001, at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home following a long illness.
She was born November 11, 1914, in Wallingford, Vt., the daughter of Antonio and Lera (Patch) Petraglio.
Mrs. Petraglia grew up in Wallingford, graduating valedictorian from Wallingford High School. She was married to Carmine Petraglia on April 12, 1934.
She was an active parent and member of the local and state PTA groups.
For many years Mrs. Petraglia was employed by the American Red Cross and was a volunteer for its local blood program. She was also a highly regarded volunteer in the Gray Lady Program at the Rutland Hospital. In 1996 she received a 30-year pin for her dedication to the program.
She and her husband loved to travel; together they took 17 Vermont Transit bus trips throughout the United States and Canada.
Survivors include her son, David Petraglia of Warwick, N.Y.; her daughter, Joan Poepoe of Rutland; two granddaughters, R. Malia Poepoe of Rutland and Lera C. Poepoe of Nyack, N.Y.; a grandson, David K. Poepoe of Rutland; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; her brother, Harold Petraglio; and her sister, Gladys Flanders.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Aldous Funeral Home, 44 North Main St., Rutland, Vt.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Church. Burial will be at a later date in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Wallingford.
