Virginia H. Pippin
BRADFORD - Virginia Helen Pippin, 82, died Jan. 1, 2001, in Bradford.
She was born Aug. 20, 1918, in Quechee, daughter of Frederich and Bertha (Greiner) Bartell.
She grew up in West Lebanon, N.H., and attended West Lebanon High School with the class of 1936. She graduated from beauty school in Boston.
She was married to Louis Fucci for a short time and later married Edward Rice Pippin in 1946. He died in 1967. After his death, she moved to Bradford.
Mrs. Pippin opened her own beauty salon business in White River Junction and then in Lebanon in 1955. She retired in 1976. She also held a New Hampshire Realtor's license and practiced realty with her husband and Ken Moseley.
Her hobbies included gardening and yard work. She was also a gifted storyteller.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Stillson of Woodstock, Teresa Giardi of East Falmouth, Mass., and Sharron Wheeler of Enfield, N.H.; two sons, Richard "Tony" A. Pippin of Lyme, N.H., and Michael A. Pippin of Hainesport, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sons, John B. and Edward "Jack" Pippin; and a sister, Gertrude Mandra.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Helena's Church in Enfield, N.H. Burial will be held at a later date in West Lebanon Cemetery.

Matthew J. Kemp
NEW HAVEN - Matthew Joseph Kemp, 18, died Jan. 1, 2001, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
He was born on Aug. 1, 1982, in Middlebury, son of Sandy M. and Judy L. (Rougier) Kemp.
Survivors include his parents of New Haven; a brother, Richard Kemp of Addison; a sister, Jessica Kemp of New Haven; his grandmother, Arlene Rougier of Bristol; his grandparents, Edith and Gerald Kemp of New Haven Mills; and a niece and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in New Haven Mills.
Friends may call Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral at the funeral home.

Marie L. Connell
RANDOLPH CENTER - Marie Lucille Connell, 60, died Jan. 3, 2001, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
She was born May 18, 1940, in Randolph Center, daughter of Armond and Therese (Belisle) Robert.
She attended schools in Randolph Center, Montpelier and Hollywood, Fla., and graduated from Orlando High School in Florida. She later attended the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.
She married Richard P. Connell on July 13, 1957, in Orlando, Fla. They moved to Randolph Center in 1995.
Mrs. Connell owned and operated Robert's Strawberry Farm on Route 12.
She was a member of the Moose Club Auxiliary in Virginia Beach, Va., and the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Randolph. She was a Cub Scout den mother in Hawaii and a Girl Scout troop leader in Virginia Beach.
She was a skilled artisan who, together with her sister, created Vermont woodland arrangements and porcelain ornaments. In 1982 she founded Santa's Caravan, a crafts co-op. She also co-organized and managed the Balloon Festival Craft Show at the fairgrounds in Essex Junction and served as president of the Greater Barre Craft Guild for many years.
Survivors include her husband of Randolph Center; a son, Ernest P. Connell of South Burlington; two daughters, Ann Marie Connell of Essex Junction and Mary Jean Ogershok of Lewisville, Texas; a brother, Bernard Robert of Palm Harbor, Fla.; a sister, Laurette Smith of Randolph Center; two granddaughters; and six nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Day Funeral Home with the Rev. John Milanese of Sts. Donatian and Rogatian Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
Minerva S. Lamboy rites
The funeral Mass for Minerva S. Lamboy, 85, formerly of Rutland, who died Jan. 11, 2001, in Old Saybrook, Conn., was held Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with the Rev. James McShane, pastor, officiating.
Organist was Richard Brown and vocalist was Lois Jakubetz.
Reader was Charles LaChance.
Bearers were Colin Speer and Warner Lord, both of Madison, Conn., James Clifford and Gary Clifford, both of Rutland.
A prayer service was held Tuesday at the Clifford Funeral Home by the Rev. McShane.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
Mary I. Benson
MANCHESTER - The memorial service to remember the life of Mary Irene Benson, 75, who died Dec. 26, 2000, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's Church in Manchester with the Rev. Julian LaFlamme, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Benson's cremated remains will be committed to the earth in Dellwood Cemetery in Manchester Village at a later date.
A time of fellowship and refreshment will follow the memorial Mass in the social hall of St. Paul's Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Brewster Funeral Service in Manchester Center.
Mickey A. Goodrich
MANCHESTER CENTER - Mickey Alvarrow Goodrich, 56, died Jan. 16, 2001, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
He was born Aug. 15, 1944, in Hood River, Ore., son of Myron and Bonnie (Bell) Goodrich.
He married Gail Kapusta on Oct. 5, 1968.
Mr. Goodrich was a carpenter by trade and had been employed in his earlier years by Dick Bovey and Jim Hunt in Manchester. More recently he had operated Mickey's SharpAll Shop.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Manchester.
He enjoyed car racing and was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt.
Survivors include his wife of Manchester Center; a son, Michael Goodrich of Manchester Center; three daughters, Michelle Goodrich of South Londonderry, Carla Goodrich and Tonya Goodrich, both of Manchester Center; four brothers, Stanley Goodrich of North Pole, Alaska, Danny Goodrich of Pierce, Idaho, Vernon Goodrich of Jackson, Mich., and Donald Goodrich of Doraville, Ga.; a sister, Myresa White of Goldendale, Wash.; five grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by eight siblings.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Brewster Funeral Home in Manchester Center with the Rev. Larry Jenney officiating. Cremation will follow at Vermont Cremation Service in Bennington.
Friends may call Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. The Eagles memorial service will be held Saturday at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
After the service friends are invited to gather at the Eagles in Manchester for a time of fellowship, refreshment and remembering Mr. Goodrich's life.

James F. Piper Sr.
CHARLESTOWN, N.H. - James Frederic Piper, 88, died Jan. 16, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct. 5, 1912, in Marblehead, Mass., son of Mark and Annie (Stafford) Piper.
He graduated from Coe-Brown Academy in Northwood and attended the Essex Agriculture School in Massachusetts.
Mr. Piper married Evelyn T. Piper on Oct. 9, 1971.
He worked for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, retiring in 1974.
He lived most of his life in New Hampshire and for the past several years in North Charlestown. He attended the North Charlestown Methodist Church.
Mr. Piper enjoyed crossword puzzles, small woodworking projects, and especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elizabeth Gaskell of Portsmouth and Patricia Graves of Springfield, Vt.; a son, James Piper Jr. of Rye; five stepchildren, Patricia Robinson of Bellows Falls, Vt., Augusta Manzanera of Boca Raton, Fla., Barbara Clemens of Concord, Larry Martin of Concord, N.C., and Sharon Fish of Westmoreland; and 29 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by Phyllis W. Piper, the mother of his children; a brother, Stafford Piper; a sister, Gladys P. Blaney; and a grandson.
The memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in North Charlestown with Pastor Michael Sanborn and Priscilla Hull officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
There will be no calling hours.

Floyd E. Gates rites
BENNINGTON - The funeral for Floyd E. Gates, 73, who died Jan. 12, 2001, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, was held Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., with the Rev. Daniel O'Connor, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
Organist was Margaret Shaw and soloist was Dawn Smith.
Scriptural readings were offered by Renie Simpson, a daughter, and Sylvia Carpenter, a daughter, read the 23rd Psalm. Remembrances and a poem were offered by Thomas Gates, Mr. Gates' son, and Claudia Olszowry, a daughter, read of her "Loving memories of dad."
Pallbearers were Thomas Gates, his son, Devin Olszowry and Jess Carpenter, grandsons, Fran Downing and Robert Downing, nephews, and John Carpenter, a son-in-law.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Bennington.
William J. Danforth rites
PROCTORSVILLE - The funeral for William J. Danforth, 69, who died Jan. 13, 2001, at Springfield Hospital, was held Tuesday morning at the Victory Assembly of God Church in Proctorsville with the Rev. Eric Graffam, pastor, officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery in Springfield, and burial will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery in Proctorsville at a later date.
Organist and soloist was Roxanne Farrar.
Personal remarks and the singing of several songs were offered by Honey Graves and Ginger Lowell.
Bearers were Kenneth Danforth, William Danforth and Travis Manley, all of Lebanon, N.H., Kevin Danforth, Kyle Quirlon and Jesse Sheehan, all of Proctorsville.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
James C. Seace
THETFORD CENTER - James C. Seace, 61, died Jan. 13, 2001, at his home.
He was born May 14, 1939, in Hanover, N.H., son of Arthur and Esther Seace.
He was a self-employed house painter and wallpaper hanger.
Mr. Seace loved horses, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, farming and socializing.
Survivors include his wife, Gertie; eight children, Tina, James Jr. and Kandy of Vershire, Bryon of California, Richard, Sherry and Marilyn of Lebanon, N.H., and Edward of Claremont, N.H.; a brother, Arthur Seace; four sisters, Beverly, Shirley, Rhonda and Sandy; and many grandchildren.
There will be no services.

Charles L. Veysey
ADDISON - Charles Lee Veysey, 91, died Jan. 15, 2001, at his home after a time of failing health.
He was born Sept. 23, 1909, in Orient, Maine, son of Henry and Mary (Cliff) Veysey.
He attended schools in Maine, and later made his home in Springfield for many years.
Mr. Veysey was employed at the Jones and Lamson Machine Tool Co. in Springfield, and also operated a family dairy farm. In 1951 he moved to Addison, where he worked for Simmonds Precision in Vergennes and later for General Electric Co. in Burlington. He also operated a farm in Addison.
He was a former member of the Methodist Church in West Addison.
Survivors include two sons, Lee A. Veysey of Chester and Richard M. Veysey of Troy, N.H.; a daughter, Lois M. Whittemore of Bristol; two brothers, Clifford Veysey of Glens Falls, N.Y., and Alan Veysey of Vernon, Conn.; two sisters, Vivian Seale of Springfield and Velma Towne of Charlestown, N.H.; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Grace (Hall) Veysey, in 1960 and his second wife, Mae (Martin) Veysey, in 1992; a daughter, Marjorie A. Blair; three sons, Stanley Veysey, Robert Veysey and Mark Veysey; three brothers, Wilmot "Bill" Veysey, Ronald Veysey and Hollis Veysey; and two sisters, Zelma Veysey and Irene Veysey.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Addison Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Daryle Cook, pastor, officiating. Another service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield with the Rev. William Scherwerts, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery in Springfield at a later date.
There will be no calling hours.
