Yvonne Martin Keith

PITTSFORD - Yvonne Martin Keith, 82, died Dec. 14, 2000, at her home in Pittsford.

She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Rutland, the daughter of Henry and Louise (Bousquet) Martin.

She married Joseph J. Keith on Nov. 4, 1939, at Christ the King Church in Rutland.

She was employed, throughout her life, until her retirement, as a full-charge bookkeeper for Abel Tire, Wassick Tire, Paul J. Martin Inc., and Keith's Service Station. She owned and operated Keith's Realty and was an insurance representative for Catholic Order of Foresters.

She was a member of St. Alphonsus Parish, the Cursilla Society and the Sodality of St. Alphonsus.

She enjoyed big band dancing, oil painting, antiques, furniture restoration, doll collecting, homemaking, and gardening. She was known for her compassion for those less fortunate, and anonymously aided many in her quiet and gentle way.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Joseph J. Keith of Pittsford; a daughter, Maureen LeClair of Sarasota, Fla., and Pittsford; five sons, Martin J. "Tubby" Keith Sr. of Pittsford, Joseph J. "Mike" Keith Jr. of Rutland Town, Jon M. Keith of Pittsford, William P. Keith of Bradford, and Daniel J. Keith of Pittsford; a sister, Mary Bridges of Schenectady, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and the seventh is expected in April. She also leaves a beloved sister-in-law, Madeline (Keith) Pollock of Pittsford; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

The funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Church in Pittsford. There will be no calling hours.

Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 7 Albert Cree Drive, Rutland, Vt., 05701.

Elaine Zani

PROCTOR - Elaine Zani, 67, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, in Ellerton, Fla.

She was a resident of Proctor before moving recently to Florida.

She was the wife of Richard F. Zani.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.

A complete obituary will be published at a later date.

Mary H. Carter

PITTSFORD - Mary H. Carter, 62, died unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, upon arrival at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Carter was born on April 27, 1938, in Rutland, the daughter of Lema F. and Mabel (Fuller) Carter.

Mary had been a lifelong resident of Pittsford and volunteered at Lothrop Elementary School for many years, where she loved helping children in many areas from the art room to cafeteria. She also won several medals in the Vermont Special Olympics. She loved playing bingo, participating in Association for Retarded Citizens events and the Boston Red Sox.

She is survived by a brother, Edward L. Carter of Pittsford; two sisters, Barbara Kingsley of Pittsford and Jean Sass of Yuma, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Charlene Kurant.

She was predeceased by her parents and a half brother, Claude Chandler.

Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford. Committal services will take place at a later date in Village Cemetery in Rochester.

Glenn I. Sharp Sr. Rites

A funeral service for Glenn I. Sharp, Sr., 81, of Rutland, who died Dec. 9, 2000, was held Saturday at the Mendon United Methodist Community Church with the Rev. Richard Marceau, pastor of the Church of the Redeemer, officiating.

Joe Boutin gave the eulogy. Pianist was Gary Jacquith. Bugler was David McKenzie.

Words of remembrance were offered by a daughter, Sue Sharp, and sons, David Sharp and Fletcher Sharp.

Burial will be at a later date in Tenny Cemetery.

Charles R. Zolnik

WELLS - Charles R. Zolnik, 74, of Lake St. Catherine and Plainview, N.Y., died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at his home.

He was born July 2, 1926, in West Rutland, the son of Marjan and Rosalia (Domanowski) Zolnik.

Mr. Zolnik graduated from Granville, N.Y. High School and from Rennselear Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., with a bachelor's degree in physics.

He served in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Granville.

He was employed by Sperry Gyroscope in Great Neck, N.Y. He later pursued a career in education and acquired a master's degree from New York University. He was a math, computer science and industrial arts teacher at Plainview-Old Bethpage School District for 15 years.

He lived at Lake St. Catherine after he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann (Senchik) Zolnik; four daughters, Andrea Parlanti of Clarks Summit, Pa., Mary Louise Zolnik of Plainview, N.Y., Cheryl Exlund of Bethpage, N.Y., and Dr. Lynn Azzara of Furlong, Pa.; two sons, Charles Eklund of Bethpage, N.Y., and Michael Zolnik of Plainview, N.Y.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Stella Hadeka of Granville and Wanda Madrak of Clifton Park, N.Y.; two brothers, Lewis Zolnik of Chamblee, Ga., and Edmund Zolnik of Boulder, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Zolnik, and a sister, Jadwiga Zolnik.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, N.Y.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at St. Raphael's Church in Poultney with the Rev. Adam Krempa and the Rev. H.R. Stockert officiating. Burial will be in S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Granville.

Bartley J. Costello

Bartley J. Costello, 86, of Country Grove died peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends, Friday evening, Dec. 15, 2000, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Catherine (O'Brien) Costello; his four sons and their families, Bartley and his wife Nancy of Albany, N.Y., Thomas of Brattleboro, Brian and his wife Patricia of Rutland, and Barry and his wife LuAnne of McLeon, Va., with 11 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; two brothers, Richard Costello of Rutland and Joseph Costello of Londonderry, N.H.; two sisters, Mary Wing of Rutland and Evelyn Cunningham of Belmont, Mass.

He was predeceased by his parents, Bartley and Evelyn, and by two brothers, Dr. John Costello and Judge Edward Costello, and by two sisters, Joan Morris and Elizabeth Butterfly.

He was a lifelong resident of Rutland, educated at Holy Innocents Primary School, Mount St. Joseph Academy, the University of Vermont and Albany Law School.

A lawyer in Rutland for forty years with the firm of Webber and Costello, later with Webber, Costello and Chapman. He began his career immediately after college as a teacher in a one-room school house, The Muddy Brook School in Williston. Returning to Rutland, he was employed at Howe Scale Co. and served as the assistant Rutland City Treasurer prior to entering the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was discharged as a captain.

A leader his entire life, he and his brother Richard founded Boy Scout Troop 20. He was elected class president, captain of the university tennis team and to the Boulder Honor Society at the University of Vermont.

He served as a past Grand Knight at the Knights of Columbus, President of Vermont State Holy Name Society, Rutland Chamber of Commerce, Rutland Country Club and Rutland Regional Medical Center. He was elected to and served on the board of directors of Marble Savings Bank and Rutland City School Board. He was a member of the Vermont and Rutland County Bar Associations.

An intense competitor with integrity, he won the Rutland Country Club senior and super senior championships. In life, as in golf, he played them as they lay.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church. Calling hours are today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home.

Eileen A. Doaner

Eileen A. Doaner, 62, of Rutland, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Rutland, Dec. 25, 1937, the daughter of Cecil and Dorthia (Farrell) Mehuron.

She was a member of Christ the King Church.

She is survived by her husband, Chester F. Doaner of Rutland; three sons, Cecil M. Doaner of Jacksonville, Fla., Peter Doaner of Rutland and Paul Doaner of Chippenhook; a daughter, Coleen Eddings of Rutland; and five grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Chester F. Doaner Jr. in 1994, and by a sister, Phyllis LaFleur.

There are no calling hours.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. at Christ the King Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Community Cancer Center, Rutland Regional Medical Center, Allen Street, Rutland, 05701.

Elizabeth J. Cupoli

Elizabeth J. Cupoli, 90, of Rutland, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at her home.

She was born in Pittsford, June 7, 1910, the daughter of Joseph and Nicolena (Ruggeri) Pietrodangelo.

She attended Holy Innocents School and was a graduate of Rutland High School. She was a 1930 graduate of Cereghino School at Paramount Beauty Shop and later opened her own business, Elizabeth's Beauty Mart on Center Street.

She was a beautician for Clifford's Funeral Home since 1932.

She was a charter member and past president of the Rutland Hairdressers Association, an honorary member of the National Hairdressing Association, a member of the Vermont Cosmetology Association and Vermont Board of Cosmetology.

She helped to raise funds for the purchase of a bus for the Haywood School, now the Vermont Achievement Center.

She was a member of Christ the King Church and Solidarity of Immaculate Conception.

Surviving are two sons, Lawrence P. Cupoli of Rutland and Barry Cupoli of Proctor; two daughters, Bonnie Heald of Rutland and Mary Elizabeth Bourassa of Richmond, Ind.; a sister, Velma Mangan of Rutland; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Cupoli in 1961; three brothers, John Pietrodangelo, Ralph Pietrodangelo and Anthony Pietrodangelo; and three sisters, Adeline Carrara, Blanche Reed and Carmeline Rice.

Friends may call at Clifford Funeral Home Wednesday, Dec. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m.

A funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 21, in Christ the King Church at 10 a.m. Private burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Edna B. Ray Rites

LUDLOW - A funeral service for Edna Bernice (Litch) Ray, 78, who died Dec. 9, 2000, was held at Adams and Kenney Funeral Home in Ludlow, with Mrs. Jane Buswell officiating.

A letter written by great-granddaughter Ariel Berry was read by Mrs. Buswell.

A reception followed at The Pot Belly Restaurant.

Burial will take place at a later date.

Margaret E. "Peg" Hutchins

WINDSOR - Margaret E. "Peg" Hutchins, 90, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at Mount Ascutney Hospital and Health Center's Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born May 30, 1910, in Stockbridge, the daughter of Lucian And Bessie (Sawyer) Hunt.

She received her schooling in Stockbridge and attended Whitcomb High School in Bethel. She married L. Gordon Hutchins in Bethel on June 16, 1928. They moved to Windsor in 1937. Mr. Hutchins died in 1991.

Mrs. Hutchins was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in West Lebanon, N.H.

She is survived by a son, Bruce G. Hutchins of Windsor; a daughter, Lorraine H. Lee of Clinton, Mass.; a sister, Lucy Prior of Bridgewater Corners; two half brothers, Keith Hunt of Amherst, N.H., and Peter Hunt of Holliston, Mass.; two half sisters, Arlene Dorgan of Springfield, Mass., and Ilene Curtis of Northboro, Mass.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by five brothers.

Friends may call at Knight Funeral Home in Windsor Tuesday, Dec. 19, from 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Erling Odell officiating. Burial will be in Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Skilled Nursing Facility, Mount Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, 289 Country Road, Windsor, 05089.

Mary A. Beauregard

MANCHESTER - Mary Alice Beauregard, 73, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at her home, following a battle with cancer.

She was born in Granville, N.Y., the daughter of Edward and Carrie (Stannard) Squires.

She attended Burr and Burton Seminary.

She was married to and later divorced from Ralph Beauregard. She lived for many years in Naugatuck, Conn. She worked at Naugatuck Daily News as the circulation manager.

She is survived by her mother, Carrie M. Squires of Manchester; two sons, Tom Oulette of Manchester and Michael Beauregard of northern Vermont; a daughter, Susan Beauregard of Naugatuck, Conn.; her boyfriend, Mert Brown of Naugatuck; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. at Brewster Funeral Home in Manchester. Burial will follow in Factory Point Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to American Cancer Society, Vermont Chapter, in care of Brewster Funeral Service, P.O. Box 885, Manchester, 05255.
