Mary Carrigan Rites
The funeral service for Mary "Mar" Carrigan, 92, of Rutland, who died Sept. 17, 2000, was held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Church in Rutland by the Rev. Thomas V. Mattison, associate pastor. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery.
Organist was Sister Pauline Gratton and vocalist was Sister Francis Patrick.
Bearers were Edward Poljacik, Allen Hinkley and grandchildren, Matt J. Smith, Mark C. Smith, Thomas Carrigan and Timothy Carrigan.
A prayer service was held Monday evening at the Clifford Funeral Home by the Rev. Mattison.
Marvin W. Turner Rites
PITTSFORD - The funeral service for Marvin W. Turner, 73, who died Sept. 15, 2000, was held Tuesday at the Pittsford Congregational Church by Pastor Joan Smith.
Soloist was Victoria LeBeau Fawley.
Rutland Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 648 provided military honors. Bill Barnes presented the flag to Mrs. Turner.
A memorial service was held on Monday evening at the Barnard Funeral Home by Rutland Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 646 with Chaplain Louis Choquette officiating. Brandon American Legion Post 55 provided an honor guard at the funeral home. A Grange service was also held Monday evening at the funeral home by members of Marble Valley Grange 567, Killington-Pomona Grange 14 and a representative from the Vermont State Grange.
Bearers were Tom Reed, Ed Reed, Bernard Greeno, Ken Reed, Don Proctor, Ted Chastaine Jr. and Bruce Rhodes.
Omitted from the obituary was that Mr. Turner was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Turner; and a sister, Virginia Bishop.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
Sheila K. Dunleavy
SOUTH BURLINGTON - Sheila K. Dunleavy, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at her home as a result of breast cancer.
She was born March 12, 1923, in Bennington, daughter of Thomas B. and Celia (Conneely) Kenny.
She attended public and parochial schools in Bennington and graduated from the former Bennington High School in 1941. She graduated from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1945.
She was married to John J. Dunleavy of Barre on Sept. 2, 1950, in Bennington. They moved in 1953 to Burlington, where they lived until moving to South Burlington in 1990.
Mrs. Dunleavy worked as a registered nurse in New York City and in Vermont from 1961 to 1984, and she operated Sheila's Uniform Shop in Burlington.
She was a member of the Cathedral Parish in Burlington, where she formerly served as a member of the parish council, and St. John Vianny Parish in South Burlington.
Survivors include a son, John K. Dunleavy of South Burlington; a daughter, Maggie D. Dechant of LaCrosse, Kan.; two sisters, Margaret M. Kenny of South Burlington and Brigid Eileen Gleason of Scituate, Mass.; two brothers, James C. Kenny of Charlotte and John P. Kenny of Santa Fe, N.M.; three grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, who died on April 24, 2000; and a brother, Thomas A Kenny.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John Vianny Catholic Church in South Burlington by the Rev. John Hamilton. Burial will follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 71 S. Union St., Burlington.

Hazel E. Boudrieau
WALPOLE, N.H. - Hazel E. Boudrieau, 83, died Sept. 18, 2000, at her home.
She was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Springfield, Vt., daughter of Clarence and Melvina (Wilson) Cleveland.
She attended school in South Charlestown.
She was married to Peter Boudrieau on June 7, 1936, in Walpole. He died in 1989.
Mrs. Boudrieau did housekeeping in the Walpole area for many years.
She and her husband were life members of the North American Family Campers Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathaleen Rogers of Memphis, Tenn.; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls, Vt. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours.

Evalyn Peterson
BENNINGTON - A memorial service celebrating the life of Evalyn Peterson, who died Aug. 10, 2000, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Bennington.

Carrie V. Knapp Rites
BENNINGTON - The funeral service for Carrie V. Knapp, who died Sept. 15, 2000, at her residence, was held Tuesday at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home by the Rev. Peter T. Elvin, pastor of St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown, Mass. Burial followed in North Pownal Cemetery.
Bearers were James Welch, Edward Lewis, Mitchell Harris Jr. and Shannon Pruden.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
Thomas K. Lapan Rites
BRATTLEBORO - The funeral service for Thomas Keenan Lapan, 72, who died Sept. 14, 2000, at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, was held Tuesday morning at St. Michael's Catholic Church by the Rev. Brian Mead, pastor of St. Charles Catholic Church in Bellows Falls. Committal rites and burial followed with full military honors in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Organist was Corrine Grover, who was accompanied by the St. Michael's Church choir.
Readings from the Old Testament and New Testament and the eulogy were given by the Rev. Mead.
A special tribute and words of remembrance were given by Richard Fleming Sr., a cousin.
The American Legion Post 5 provided military honors. The flag was presented to Mr. Lapan's oldest son, Steve Martin. Donald Strange sounded taps.
A reception followed the committal services held by the American Legion on Linden Street.
A Catholic vigil service was held Monday evening at the funeral home by the Rev. Charles Danielson of St. Michael's Church.
Delegations attending the service included the Brattleboro post office, St. Michael's School, members of the Class of 1949, Fleming Oil Co. and the Guilford Central School.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Atamaniuk Funeral Home, 40 Terrace St., Brattleboro.
Ralph W. Howe Jr. Rites
WILMINGTON - A celebration of the life of Ralph Wesley Howe Jr., who died Sept. 15, 2000, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, was held Tuesday afternoon at the Wilmington Congregational Church by the Rev. Marcia Dorey, pastor. Burial followed in Riverview Cemetery.
Organist was Dr. Robert Ruhl and soloist was Peaches Charnow.
Personal reflections and memories were shared by Pastor Marcia and many of the family's friends and associates.
In addition to his immediate family, Mr. Howe is survived by a sister, Mary Johnson; two nieces; a nephew; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Howe; and a sister, Virginia Howe Chidsey.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Covey and Allen Funeral Home.
Agoston Guszti Burjan
PITTSFORD - Funeral services for Agoston Guszti Burjan, 63, who died Oct. 18, 2000, at his home in Pittsford, were held Saturday at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford. The Rev. Paul Bresnahan, pastor of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Proctor, officiated. Bill Taranovich offered words of scripture and the eulogy. Burial followed at the Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford. Timothy Blow, Todd Blow, Kevin Blow, David Blow, Michael Blow, Rodney McPhee and Sean Malon were bearers.
James L. Canfield Rites
FAIR HAVEN - Graveside committal services, with military honors, for James L. "Hot Rod" Canfield, 58, who died Oct. 14, 2000, at the home of his sister in Fair Haven, were held Saturday at the Hillside Cemetery in Castleton. The Rev. Richard Tinney, pastor of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, officiated.
The Fair Haven American Legion Post 49 members Bud Pockett, Dick Ramey, Francis Morriarty, Jim Mason, Gordon and Richard Greenough, Paul Patten, Stykes Jones, Dom Sbardella, Bill Eaton, Bill Sweeney, Guy Carruth and John Burdett provided color guard and firing party. Ray Bunker sounded Taps. Chaplain Bill Canfield presented the flag to the family.
The family received friends at the home of Anne Larkin, a sister, in Fair Haven.
The Mallory Funeral Home in Fair Haven was in charge of arrangements.
Dale Dunkerley Rites
RUTLAND - Funeral services for Dale E. Dunkerley, 48, of Rutland, who died Oct. 17, 2000, were held Saturday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Rutland. The Rev. James McShane, pastor, officiated.
Charles LaChance and Linda Chapman were readers. Lois Jacubetz was vocalist. Richard Brown was organist.
Daniel Robertson, her son, offered words of remembrance.
Rev. McShane led prayer services Friday at the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
Richard L. Howland Rites
RUTLAND - The celebration of life for Richard L. Howland, 52, of Chippenhook, who died Oct. 14, 2000, at his home, was held Saturday at the Tossing Funeral Home in Rutland. The Rev. Edward A. Hackett Jr., pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiated, and read a poem by his wife, Debbie. A brother, Roger, offered words of remembrance. The Tossing Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Donald W. LaRouche
RUTLAND - Donald W. LaRouche, 65, of Rutland, died Oct. 21, 2000, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
He was the husband of Michele (Sears) LaRouche of Rutland.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Church in Rutland.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.

Kathi Marie Putvain
HARDWICK - Kathi Marie Putvain, 40, of Hardwick, died unexpectedly Oct. 20, 2000.
She was born June 9, 1960, in Rutland, the daughter of Earl and Mary (Gleason) Johnson, and attended Hazen Union High School in Hardwick.
She married Mark Chester Putvain Feb. 20, 1982, in Greensboro Bend.
Mrs. Putvain was a homemaker. She enjoyed flowers and walking in the woods, and loved the time she spent caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Hart; her husband, Mark Putvain; one son, Lucas Putvain, all of Hardwick; four daughters, Margo Johnson and Amanda Putvain, both of East Hardwick, Amy Putvain of Danville and Annmarie Putvain of Hardwick; one brother, Wayne Johnson of Poultney; four sisters, Debbie Bezio of Benson, Marion Cyhowski of Bellows Falls, Earlene Hopkins of Hardwick and Jeanie Phillips of West Rutland; three grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Norbert's Roman Catholic Church in Hardwick. The Rev. Michael Augustinowitz will officiate.
There are no calling hours.

RUTLAND - Sarah E. Thompson, 78, of Rutland, died Oct. 21, 2000, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center, after a long illness. Services are pending with the Aldous Funeral Home in Rutland.
