BRADLEY ALLEN BOHANNON

Bradley Allen Bohannon, age 62, years a longtime resident of South Alburgh and more recently of Colchester, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at his Mt. Mansfield Ave. residence.
Born in Rutland on Jan. 28, 1947, he was the son of the late Byron and Alma (O’Dell) Bohannon. He graduated from the former Alburgh High School and later attended Johnson State College. From 1998 until the time of his death, Bradley has been associated with the U.S. Postal Service in Essex Junction. In earlier years he had worked for the Warren Fournier Home Improvement Center in Swanton and later for Myers Custom Brokers in Highgate Springs and was a former member of the Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department.
Bradley will be best remembered for his love of music, whether it be playing his guitar with friends or playing drums with the different bands that he was a part of.
He leaves his daughter, Aimee Hazen, of South Burlington; his son, Timothy Bohannon, of South Alburgh; longtime friend and partner, Claudette Deragon, of Bedford, P.Q.; and his former wife, Susan (Tudhope) McMaster, of Gold Beach, Ore.
He was predeceased by a son, Joshua Bohannon, on Nov. 10, 1977.
At Bradley’s request, there will be no funeral services at this time. Interment will take place later at the Bohannon family lot in the Alburgh Center cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Bradley’s memory may be made to the Mt. Sinai Shriners Toy Run, P.O. Box 742, Montpelier 05602.

A Funeral Service was held Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home. Father Thomas D. Nadeau, pastor of Nativity / St. Louis Parish officiated.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Franklin Town Offices, Franklin General Store, Franklin Fire Department, Franklin Rescue, New England Air Systems, The Parts Store, Franklin Homestead and Carriage House and United States Department of Homeland Security. Entombment followed to await spring interment with full military honors at the Bishop family lot in St. Anthony cemetery, Sheldon Springs.
Following the service, a Bereavement Luncheon was served to family and friends at the Felco Room of the Franklin Homestead.
GLORIA MAE CHILTON

Gloria Mae Chilton, age 84 years, died Thursday evening, Feb. 5, 2009, at the St. Albans Health and Rehabilitation Center in St. Albans Town.
Born in Clarenceville, Quebec Canada, on Aug. 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and Mable (Ashline) Chilton. Raised in Swanton, Gloria was a graduate of the former Swanton High School. She lived most of her adult life in Maryland and was associated with Sears and Roebuck for 40 years.
Gloria leaves her brother, Billy Chilton and his wife, Dorthea, of Highgate and Vero Beach, Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews, including, Gary and Diane Greenfield of St. Albans, with whom she had made her home.
A Memorial Service will be announced in the spring with Interment in the Chilton family lot in Riverside cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Gloria’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Vermont Chapter, 122 North Main St., Barre, Vt. 05461.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley A. Giroux were held Wednesday evening in the Brady & Levesque Chapel. Deacon Duane Langlois officiated. Also sharing words of comfort were her granddaughters, Krista Griffin and Meranda Farr. A Guard of Honor was present from the Auxiliary Unit 758, of Robert E. Glidden Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The Women of the Moose, Chapter 321, held their funeral services for a departed member with Chaplain Sharon Craig, Senior Regent Martha Oligher, Junior Regent Shirley Ovitt, Junior Graduate Regent Josephine Rocheleau and co-workers Diane McMahon, Lucille Brown, Barbara Bailey and Frances Harris presenting a Carnation of Life.
Attending were Rector Reid Farrell and parishioners of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Swanton, Holy Angels and St. Mary’s Churches of St. Albans, members of the Moose Lodge, 1090, Women of the Moose, Chapter 321, Champlain Cable Co., Stanley Associates, former co-workers of Wilson from Sheldon Pulp and Paper Mill.
Interment will be next spring in the Giroux family lot in Holy Cross cemetery.

David James Leveille, 49, died unexpectedly, Friday, Feb. 6.
Surviving him are brothers, Darryl Leveille and James Hanley; grandmother, Florence Archidiacono; uncle, Armond Lamore; sisters, Kristine, Sherry, Peggy, and Florence; many nieces and nephews; stepmother, Betty Leveille; and brothers-in-law, Ronald Machia and Robert Barton.
David was predeceased by a sister, Bunny, on Feb. 15, 1996.
You will be forever in our hearts, David. We will miss you always. May you and dad rest in peace.
JOSEPHINE ANN SARGENT

Josephine Ann Sargent, 91, died peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at the home of her daughter, Katrina, with members of her loving family by her side.
Josephine was born on Oct. 20, 1917, in New Bedford, Mass., the daughter of Jan and Mary (Salamon) Ochab. She graduated from New Bedford High School in 1935. On Aug. 27, 1942, she married Joseph Francis Sargent. They spent the majority of their life together in Newmarket, N.H., where they raised their family. Joseph predeceased Josephine in 1983.
Josephine is survived by her brother, William Ochab and his wife, Beverly, of New Bedford; her daughters, Leslie McCullough and her husband, William, of Tolland, Conn., Debra Sargent Cravens and her husband, Stanley, of Madison, Wis., Katrina Sargent-Deziel and her husband, Gary, of Georgia, Vt.; and by her son, James Sargent and his partner, David Ganak, of Boston, Mass. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Collin McCullough and his wife, Cara, their children, Amanda, Jacob and Sam; Ryan McCullough and his partner, Trisha Sullivan; Caitrin Walsh McCullough and her husband, Timothy; Julia Deziel; and by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Anna Martin and Joseph Ochab.
Josephine’s family was very important to her. She was a special wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, whose contagious laugh will be missed by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newmarket, N.H., on Saturday, May 2, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Calvary cemetery.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mrs. Margaret M. “Peggy” Yuen, R. N., on Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church. Father W. Andre Houle was the celebrant. Altar servers were grand nephews, Brian and Brady Howrigan. Assisting the servers were Rose Rixon and Denise Messier. The Crucifix bearer was John Manahan.
The Holy Scripture Lessons were read by nieces, Mary Jane McMahon and Ann Heimberger. The Gifts for the Offertory were presented to Father Houle by nieces, Mary Jane McMahon and Christine Smith. Eucharistic Ministers were sisters of Marj, Sister Rita Mawn and Virginia Howrigan and John Manahan. Music for the Mass was by organist and soloist Claire Hungerford and soloist, nephew, John Schreindorfer. Sister Rita Mawn shared memories of Marj’s life, her many accomplishments and her many traveling experiences worldwide.
Among those attending were representatives of the Vermont House of Representatives, Northwestern Medical Center, Howrigan, Magnan and Branon family farms, Handy Toyota, S. B. Collins, Kevin Smith Sports Connection, Howrigan Real Estate, many residents of Hawks Nest Housing and St. Mary’s Parishioners.
Marj’s bearers were her loving nephews, Brian Howrigan, Mark Howrigan, Andrew Mawn III, Stephen Mercure, Peter Tabor and friend, Christopher Castro.
Following prayers of Final Commendation and Committal, by Father Houle, interment was in the Yuen/Mawn family lot in Holy Cross cemetery. A time of sharing and luncheon was served in St. Mary’s Parish Center, hosted by the Bereavement Committee of St. Mary’s Church. Thursday, Father Houle held Christian Wake Services with her family and friends in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. from St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Church. Father Thomas D. Nadeau, pastor of Nativity / St. Louis Parish, was the celebrant and homilist. Assisting and proclaiming the Gospel was The Reverend Mr. Alan Vincelette, Deacon assigned to the Champlain Island Roman Catholic Parish. Music was provided by soloist, Maurice Gauthier accompanied by organist, Carol Pellerin.
The Crucifix was placed by grandsons, Justin and Bryant Wolcott. Readings from both The Old and New Testament were proclaimed by granddaughter, Elizabeth Dufresne. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Bryant and Justin Wolcott. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by granddaughter, Lindsey Dufresne.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Vermont Department of Corrections, Dan Menard Concrete, local Avon Representatives, Lakewood Campground Albany Social Committee and the St. Amadeus Parish Community. The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place in the spring in Bedford, Quebec.
The bearers were Justin and Bryant Wolcott. Following the liturgy, a Bereavement Luncheon was served to family and friends at the East Alburgh home of Joyce’s daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Jim Honsinger.
FIRE CHIEF RICHARD ALLEN BAKER

A funeral service celebrating the life of Fire Chief Richard Allen Baker was held Sunday afternoon, Feb. 8, 2009, at 2 p.m. from the Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Station. The Reverend Marcheta Townsend, pastor of The Old Stone United Methodist Parish in Isle La Motte, officiated, assisted by The Reverend Deborah LaPorte, pastor of the Williamstown Federated Church. Music was provided by soloist, Maurice Gauthier, accompanied by pianist, Carol Pellerin. Special Music was offered by Dick’s daughter, Tammy James, and nephew, Michael Baker.
Special Words of Remembrance were shared by Terry Tatro, chairperson of Alburgh Fire and Rescue; nephew, Michael Baker; and Paul Donnelly representing the North Country International Fire Training School. Chief Baker’s casket was transported to the funeral ceremony and interment in Alburgh Rescue 1, escorted by a large funeral procession as well as a large guard of honor formed by members of Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department along with Isle La Motte, Swanton, Highgate, Rouses Point, Champlain, Ellenburg Depot, Keeseville, Plattsburgh City, South Plattsburgh, Saranac, Cumberland Head, Mooers, Latham, Chazy, Essex Junction, North Hero, Grand Isle, South Hero, Winooski, Colchester, St. George, Georgia, South Burlington, Richmond, St. Paul de L’Ile Aux Noix and Clarenceville / Noyan Fire Departments, Grand Isle Rescue, Missisquoi Valley Rescue, Vermont State Firefighters Association, Franklin and Grand Isle County Fire Fighters Associations, Clinton County Fire Fighters Association, Grand Isle County Emergency Response Team, Emergency Medical Services of Clinton County, New York State Association of Fire Chiefs, Swanton Village Police, Grand Isle County Sheriff’s Department and Vermont State Police.
Other delegations in attendance were representatives from the Vermont Senate and House of Representatives, Alburgh, North Hero, Swanton and Highgate Town and Village Offices, Swanton Village and Alburgh Fire Department Auxiliaries, Blair’s Fuels and Excavating, Irick Excavating, Northwestern Medical Center, Columbus Lodge 11 F.&A.M., Poissant Auto, Alburgh Beverage, Hero’s Welcome, CIDER, The Boatsmith, Tatro’s Repair Shop, Westcom, Bee-Line Trucking, Amerigas and the Alburgh School District.
Following the service Firefighter Kevin Krone sounded “The Final Alarm.” Interment followed at the Baker family lot in the South Alburgh cemetery with The Reverend Mrs. Townsend assisted by The Reverend Mrs. LaPorte reading the committal prayers. The bearers were Jim, Charles, Mike and Robert Baker; Jim Blair, James Paquette Jr., Robert James and Hans Rathke.
Following The Prayers of Committal, a Bereavement Luncheon was served to family and friends in the Alburgh Municipal Complex, hosted by the Fire Department Auxiliary. During the Saturday afternoon visitation, Captain Kelly Donaghue of the Clinton County Fire Fighters Association and Director of the Emergency Medical Services of Clinton County led the family in a prayer service. At the evening calling hours, Terry Tatro, chairperson of Alburgh Fire and Rescue, led his delegation in the reading of “The Fireman’s Prayer.”

Michael Bernard Boissoneault, 51, died accidentally at his home in Fairfield on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009. He was born in St. Albans on Aug. 15, 1957, son of Rene Boissoneault and Barbara (Magnan) Young.
Mike grew up in Fairfax and graduated from BFA in 1975. After graduating from high school, he worked on the Boissoneault farm in Fairfax until 1986. He became a certified hunting guide, fulfilling his life-long dream. While living in Alaska and guiding, he successfully guided many hunters to their big game trophies. In the off hunting season, Mike worked on dude ranches and broke wild horses. In 1990, Mike returned to the family farm and stayed involved in farming.
Mike is survived by his father and stepmother, Rene and Pricilla Boissoneault, of Swanton; his mother and stepfather, Barbara (Magnan) and Larry Young, of Fairfax; his brothers and sisters: Kent and his friend, Vicki, Alan and his friend, Christina, Peter, Stephen and his wife, Sherri, Dawn and her friend, Norman; his stepbrothers and stepsisters: Lawrence Young Jr. and wife, Cyndi, Todd Young and wife, Elizabeth, Cherie Geddes and husband, Gary, Deanna Farnham and her friend, Tim, Michael Laramie and his wife, Pam; his nieces, Kirston and Chelsea Boissoneault; great-nephew, Mason; and many more aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a prayer service being offered at 3:45 p.m., at the A. W. Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church with the Reverend John Feltz officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Luke’s cemetery, Fairfax.
