RALPH W. ELLSWORTH
FAIRFAX - Ralph W. Ellsworth, 90, passed away Sunday morning, June 11, 2006, at the Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans following a short illness.
Ralph was born in the Ellsworth homestead on Comette Road in Fairfax on April 26, 1916, the son of the late Clint and Lizzie (Blakey) Ellsworth.
On Dec. 25, 1942, he married Ruth Leach in the Leach homestead in Fairfax. He and Ruth were married for over 56 years. Ruth predeceased him in 1999. Ralph was a member of the United Church of Fairfax and was a lifelong dairy farmer and Fairfax resident. He always enjoyed maple sugaring in the spring. Following retirement, he drove school bus for the Town of Fairfax for 12 years.
Ralph was a proud member of the Masons, Lamoille Lodge 6, and in later years was a member of the Fairfax Friendly Neighbors Senior Citizens, where he spent many hours picking up Seniors for their weekly gatherings. He also loved to travel and to play cards with his friends.
Ralph is survived by his children, John Ellsworth and his spouse, Marjorie, Jim Ellsworth and his friend, Mary Spaulding, and Mary Jane Machia and her husband, Jim, all of Fairfax. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Beth Jasinski and her husband, Brett of Swanzey, N.H., Joanne Ellsworth of Williston, Kelley Quick and her husband, Toby of Fletcher, Kimberly Ellsworth and her fiancé, Dan Gregoire of Williston, Kathi Ellsworth and her fiancé, Nate Muehl of Fletcher, Miranda Machia of Fairfax, and Martha Machia and her friend, Andre Languarand of Elmore, Vt. and Rhinecliff, N.Y.; by his great-grandchildren, Jared and Mara Quick of Fletcher, Kyle and Michael Boucher III of Fairfax, Isaac and Abigail Jasinski of Swanzey, N.H.; by his brother-in-law, Larry Leach of St. Albans Bay; his sister-in-law, Marion Webb of St. Albans; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins; and longtime family friend, Charlotte McNall of Fairfax.
In addition to Ruth, Ralph was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Ellsworth; his sisters and spouses, Reba and Francis Bessette, and Ola and Harland Tracy; his sister-in-law, Mary Leach; and brother-in-law, Bill Webb.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at 11a.m. in the United Church of Fairfax with the Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall following the service. A family gathering will be held at a later time for Ralph’s burial, in the Sanderson Corners Cemetery in Fairfax.

NORMAN A. BISHOP, SR.
Prayers of Committal and interment for Norman A. Bishop Sr., who passed away on March 30, 2006, will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at 10 a.m. in the Bishop family lot in Berlin Corners Cemetery on the Payne Turnpike Road in Berlin.

SWANTON - Funeral Services were held Friday, June 9, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home. Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE, pastor of St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Church Alburgh and St. Joseph’s Mission Isle La Motte officiated. Music was provided by soloist, Maurice Gauthier accompanied by organist, Carol Pellerin.
The readings from both the Old and New Testament were proclaimed by Theresa’s granddaughter, Torrie Dearborn and Special Words of Remembrance shared by grandson, Chad Civetti.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Northwestern Medical Center, Nursing Associates from the former Kerbs Memorial and St. Albans City Hospitals, Rachel’s Styling Studio, Franklin County Home Health Agency, Rene J. Fournier Farm Equipment, Warren Fournier Home Improvement Center, The Handy Group, Bryon, Haffey and Ratell Funeral Homes of Springfield, Mass., Studio 17, Haven Health Center and the Nativity Parish Community.
Interment followed in the Gingras family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery with Father Boucher reading the committal prayers. Following The Prayers of Committal a Bereavement Luncheon for family and friends was served at the My-T-Fine II Restaurant in Highgate Springs hosted by Mrs. Nancy Paquette and Staff.

ST. ALBANS - A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mrs. Berniece Kirouac, Thursday, June 8, 2006, at 2 p.m. in Holy Angels Church with Father Maurice Roy as the celebrant. Concelebrating with Father Maurice Roy was Father Leonidas Laroche, Pastor of St. Mary’s Church. Assisting Father Roy and Father Laroche at the altar were Norman Blouin and Fabio Choiniere. Claire Hungerford was the organist and soloist.
Readings from Scripture were read by Sister Cecile Lebeau. Rosalie Jacques and the Ladies of St. Anne provided words of remembrance and prayers for Berniece.
Casket bearers were her grandchildren, Aaron Brown, Christopher Gonyeau, Heather M. Gonyeau, Charlotte Brown; nephew Barry Boutwell; and son-in-law, Donald Brown.
In attendance were members of the Ladies of St. Anne, Dartmouth College, Handy Dodge, Handy Toyota, St. Albans City Public Works Department, Fonda Container, Regal Art Press and Georgia Fire Department.
Interment followed in the Kirouac family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

MONTGOMERY - A graveside memorial service was held Sunday, June 4, 2006, at the Montgomery Village Cemetery with Pastor Edward Sorrell officiating. A Masonic Ritualistic service was performed by the masons of the Lincoln Lodge F&AM of Enosburg Falls. Guitarist/Soloist was Gail Perras, Bag Piper was James MacKenzie.
Following committal prayers the Vermont National Guard accorded Doug with military honors presenting the American flag to his widow, Pearl.
Following the graveside service a gathering was held at the Montgomery Village Methodist Church. On Thursday, June 8, 2006, a service of remembrance was held at the Holiday House Residence in St. Albans with Pastor Elizabeth Griffin officiating.

ROXANNE S. (BRALEY) SPAULDING
MORRISVILLE - Roxanne Sandra (Braley) Spaulding, age 59 of Morrisville, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington after a long illness. She was born in Cambridge on July 26, 1946, daughter of the late William and Bernice (Robtoy) Braley.
She was employed as a psychiatric technician for the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury for over 30 years. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, loved traveling and had taken three spectacular trips to Hawaii. Her cats were very dear to her.
Roxanne always gave of herself to others, including her patients who she was extremely dedicated to often going the extra mile to assure their well-being. She had a big heart and offered her love unconditionally to her family and friends. Roxanne will be greatly missed by all those who had the true pleasure to know and love her.
She is survived by her two brothers, Marvin Braley and Cheryl Arbuckle of Swanton, and Owen Braley of Newark; one sister, Donna Tarrier and her husband, Phillip “Chuck” of Jeffersonville; her uncle Bernard and his wife, Hilda Robtoy of Island Pond; sister-in-law, Marilyn Braley of Bellows Falls; her former husband, Kenneth Spaulding and his sister, Muriel Emerson and her husband, Herbie; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a very special and longtime friend, Pauline Dodge of Morrisville. She was also predeceased by her brother, William Braley.
Visiting hours will be held at the A. W. Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax Chapel, today (Friday), June 9, 2006, from 6 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2006, at St. Mary’s Church in Cambridge, Vt. at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Dan Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Jeffersonville Village Cemetery.

HIGHGATE FALLS - The Liturgy of Christian Burial was concelebrated Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at 11 a.m. from St. Louis Roman Catholic Church. The pastor, Father John J. Meagher, SSE was the celebrant and homilist. Concelebrating was Father Jean Paul Laplante, pastor emeritus. Paul Laroche served as Minister of the Altar. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan.
The White Funeral Pall and two Crucifixes were placed on Ethel’s casket by her daughter, Nancy Boyer and son, David Baker Sr. Granddaughters, Carolyn Drumheller and Jennifer Pecor, proclaimed The Old and New Testament Readings. The Offertory Gifts were presented by grandchildren, Carolyn Drumheller, Jennifer Pecor, Stephen Beyor, Ann Baker and David Baker Jr.
Among the many delegations in attendance were representatives from the Highgate, Franklin and Sheldon School Districts, Highgate Town Offices, Highgate Historical Society, Highgate Town Cemetery Commission, Franklin County Home Health Agency, Casella, United States Department of Homeland Security including the Customs and Border Protection Services, Mylan Technologies, Curves, Johnson State College, Goose Point Campground, IBM, Ray’s Rebuildables and Salvage and Laroche Auto Repair.

The bearers were grandsons, Paul Drumheller, Gary Pecor, Stephen Boyer, David Baker Jr.; great-grandson, Anthony Airoldi; and family friend, Tom Mulheron.

Readings from Scripture were read by Sister Cecile Lebeau. Sister Lebeau also read a poem of comfort titled “Don’t Grieve For Me.”
Urn Carriage bearers were Susan Castor, Mark Moreau, Judy Zsoldos and Tricia Kipp.
In attendance were members of the Ladies of St. Anne, Sisters of the Holy Cross, and parishioners and friends from Holy Angels Church. Interment followed in the Tirabassi family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

ETHEL E. LABOUNTY
LYNDONVILLE - Ethel E. Labounty, 87, died Monday, June 5, 2006, at the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Williamsburg, Mass., the daughter of August John and Elizabeth Nietche Spitzer. Ethel was a farm wife.
She is survived by her children, Eugene Labounty of Essex Junction, Virginia Giroux of Colchester, and Roland Labounty and wife, Claire of St. Albans; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Raymond Spitzer Sr. of Hyde Park and Herbert Spitzer of Roseburg, Ore.
She was predeceased by her husband Clifford Joseph Labounty in 1968; and two sisters, Martha Spitzer and her twin, Dorothy Sulham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 9, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the White-Fiess Funeral Home, 165 Brooklyn St., Morrisville, Vt. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
THERESA B. (FOURNIER) GINGRAS
WOODS HILL, SWANTON - Mrs. Theresa B. (Fournier) Gingras, 77, a lifelong Swanton resident, died Monday afternoon, June 5, 2006, at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans City.
Born at home in Swanton on May 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Quesnel) Fournier. She graduated from the former St. Anne’s Academy and later attended and graduated from the Fanny Allen Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for many years at the former Kerbs Memorial Hospital and also in the offices of Doctors Dempsey and Sample. She was a lifelong parishioner of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Theresa leaves her husband of 21 years Roger Gingras; a daughter, Anne Marie Civetti and husband, Paul of Wilbraham; three grandchildren, Torrie Dearborn and husband, John of East Longmeadow, and Brett and Chad Civetti of Wilbraham; one great-grandson, Connor Dearborn of East Longmeadow, all in Massachusetts; stepchildren Timothy and Todd Gingras, both of Highgate, Rachel Choiniere of Swanton, Karen Capsey of Highgate, and Sharon Bashaw of St. Albans; several step-grandchildren; as well as several nephews including, Roger, Philip and Larry Conte.
Theresa’s family wishes to give a very special thank you to the staff of the Northwestern Medical Center Emergency Department and the Palliative Care Unit, as well as to the Franklin County Home Health Agency - especially Dale Walsh RN for all of the professional care, concern and support given to both Theresa and her family during her illness.
A Memorial Service for family and friends celebrating Theresa’s life will be held Friday, June 9, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Private interment for family members only will follow in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. At the family’s request there will be no public calling hours.

SWANTON - Mrs. Alberta Strait Beebe, 88, a longtime resident of the Swanton community, died late Tuesday evening, Jan. 31, 2006, at Haven Health Center in St. Albans Town.
Graveside Services and interment will be held Saturday, June 10, 2006, at 1 p.m. from the Beebe family lot in Riverside Cemetery. The Reverend Donavee Copenhaver, pastor of the Missisquoi River Charge of the United Methodist Church, will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

RICHFORD - Funeral services were held Friday, June 2, 2006 at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Reverend Theobald Richard celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Altar Server was Adam Olio and Organist/Soloist was Mary Jo Gillilan.
Scripture readings were proclaimed by Claire Doe. Offertory gifts were presented by Linda Olio and Michael Olio. Following communion words of remembrance were given by Carolyn Gendron.
Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery. Pall Bearers were his grandson, Travis Tessier; son-in-law, Jon Hildebrand; nephews, Terry Gibney, Chad and Lance Gibney; and family friend, Alfred Gendron.

ST. ALBANS - A graveside committal service was held for Mrs. Doris Sullivan, June 7, 2006, in the Jarvis family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery with Father Leonidas Laroche celebrating.
A reading from scripture was read by Lillian Rainville. Deacon Jack Rixon read the Gospel and offered words of tribute.
In attendance were many neighbors and family friends.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.
