LEONARD STILLMAN TABOR, JR.
FAIRFAX - Graveside funeral and committal services for Leonard Stillman Tabor Jr., who passed away on April 27, 2006, were held on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, in the family lot at Fairfax Plains Cemetery with the Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating. Words of remembrance were spoken by several friends.
Full military honors were accorded the Korean Conflict Army veteran by the Military Funeral Honors Detail from Joint Forces Headquarters at Camp Johnson. Master Sergeant Ed Daudelin was the NCOIC. The firing detail consisted of SFC Patricia Lavery, SSGT Marty Branch, PFC Kyle Pelletier, and PFC Tim Graves. Bugler was SPC Darrel McClay. The American flag honoring Leonard’s military service was presented to his son, Leonard III, by Master Sergeant Daudelin.

MARIE C. LUMBRA
BERKSHIRE / ST. ALBANS - Marie C. Lumbra, 73, a resident of this area for most of her lifetime, passed away peacefully at Northwestern Medical Center on Monday, June 19, 2006. Her loving family was at her side. She was born in Swanton, May 14, 1933, the daughter of the late Arthur and Antonia (Moreau) Chevalier.
Marie was employed for nearly 30 years for Franklin/Grand Isle Mental Health Agency as a caseworker and in other capacities. She retired in 1998. She lived in Baltimore for 14 years in her early adult life and Franklin County since. She was a graduate of St. Anne’s Academy in Swanton. She was also married to Leon R. Tessier, the father of her children, in 1951. In 1984 she married Arnold Centabar who died in 1994. On May 5, 1995, she married Maurice S. Lumbra at the Georgia Campground. He survives her.
Marie was one of the first women to become a member of the Richford Lions Club. She enjoyed reading, her cats, and camping. She was an extreme enthusiast of the QVC Home Shopping Channel. Her many friends will especially remember her for her sense of humor.
In addition to her husband, Maurice, she is survived by four sons, Robert Tessier and his wife, Liz of Elkhart, Ind., Jimmy Tessier and his wife, Lisa of Easton, Md., Paul Tessier of Berkshire, Vt., and Michael Tessier and his wife, Shawn of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; five daughters, Susan and Steve Harbin of Westminster, Md., Jean Ross of Chantilly, Va., Patty and Rene Fortin of Swanton, Kathy and Steve Shepard of Georgia, Vt. and Dianne and Mike Begnoche of Swanton; three brothers, Alain and Nicky Chevalier of San Antonio, Texas, Maurice “Sammy” Chevalier of Ingram, Texas, and John “Butch” Chevalier of Brookline, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Alice Chevalier of New York; 28 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves five stepsons and their spouses, Gary and Judy Centabar of Swanton, Maurice T. and Gina Lumbra of St. Albans, John Lumbra and Karl Klein of Waitsfield, Vt., William and Joannie Lumbra of Lemore, Calif., and Shaun and Devin Lumbra of Richford. She was predeceased by her parents; her second husband, Arnold; a brother, Laurent Chevalier; and infant sister, Lucille; a grandson, Joseph Tessier; and a granddaughter, Michelle Fortin.
In accordance with Marie’s wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of her family. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice.

KIARA ROSE McRAE
ST. ALBANS - Kiara Rose McRae, infant daughter of Samuel A. and Emily (Morrie) McRae, passed away early Monday, June 19, 2006, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born in Burlington on March 13, 2006, with her fraternal brother, Logan and twin sister, Annalisa.
Survivors include her parents, Sam and Emily of St. Albans; her two brothers, Sam II, Logan; sister, Annalisa; her paternal grandparents, Gordon and Marie McRae of St. Albans; her maternal grandparents, Linda Morrie of St. Albans and John Morrie and his wife, Eddie of St. Albans; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of Kiara’s family with Pastor Gary Cooper, Associate Pastor of Church of the Rock, officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Kiara’s family asks that memorial’s be made in her name to the Vermont Children’s Hospital at Fletcher Allen Health Care, 111 Colchester Ave., Burlington, Vt. 05401.

EDWARD 'EDDIE' ARMAND HEBERT
ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO - A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, at Grace Community Church for Edward “Eddie” Armand Hebert, 73, of Roswell, who passed away on June 20, 2006, at his residence. Pastor Rick Hale will officiate. Upon the request of Mr. Hebert, his body will be donated to the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.
Edward was born on Oct. 23, 1932, in St. Albans, Vt. to Armand “Pete” and Gertrude Allard Hebert. They both preceded him in death.
On March 16, 1970, Edward married Mary Jo Smith Morrison. She also preceded him in death on June 5, 2006; as well as a stepdaughter, Margaret Autry, and stepson Charles Morrison. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and later became a project engineer for the New Mexico State Highway Department. He was a member of the Roswell Elks Lodge, and the Roswell Gun Club. He loved sports and was a Boston Red Sox Fan. He was very involved in youth baseball as a coach and umpire.
His survivors include his sons, Tom Hebert and his wife, Betty of Portales, N.M., Pete Hebert and his wife, Debra of Roswell, and Paul Hebert and his wife, Melodie also of Roswell; his daughters, Trudy Hebert of Roswell, Lisa Woods and her husband, Ken of Albuquerque; and step-daughter, Sherri Corum of El Paso, Texas; brother, Harold “Butch” Hebert and his wife, Sally of St. Albans, Vt.; sisters, Constance “Connie” Fielding and her husband, Bob of Vermont, Sylvia Sweet and her companion, Billie of Oregon, and Denise Phenix and her husband, Robert “Bob” of the Georgia/Milton area. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Destiny Hebert, Brandon Hebert, Christy Soto, Theresa Montoya and her husband, Frederick, Daniel Soto III, Marissa Soto, Serenity Gomez and her husband, Jason, Ryan Hebert and his wife, Kathy, Nicole Woods, Andy Joe Winn and his wife, Katie, Cory Winn and his fiancée, Katie, and Terra and Cassie Autry, and Charles Corum, and Amy and David Hagan; eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and first cousins in the St. Albans area.

FREDERICK C. THOMAS, JR.
ST. ALBANS - Frederick C. Thomas Jr., 87, a longtime area resident, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2006, at Franklin County Rehab Center following a brief illness. He was born in Burlington, Vt., on Aug. 25, 1918, the son of the late Frederick C. Thomas, Sr. and Delia R. (Bacon) Thomas. On Feb. 4, 1940, in Bethel, Vt., he married the former Jean Forrest, who predeceased him on April 26, 2006.
Fred served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge he operated Thomas’ Texaco from 1948 to 1964. He than was salesman for the Homer W. Hungerford Auto Dealership in St. Albans. Fred was a member of the First Congregational Church, Green Mountain Post 1, American Legion, Robert E. Glidden Post 758, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ethan Allen Lodge 72, F & AM of Essex Junction.
Survivors include three sons, Frederick C. Thomas III and his wife, Jeanne of Antioch, Ill., David F. Thomas and his wife, Marie of Hyde Park and Richard D. Thomas and his wife, Beth of St. Albans; seven grandchildren, Charles Thomas, Victoria Richardson, Marc Thomas, Gregory Thomas, Aaron Thomas, Jennifer Biser and Angela Cassidy; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Thomas of Massachusetts. In addition to his parents, and wife, Jean, he was predeceased by a great-grandson, Ethan E. Biser on Aug. 16, 2005; a daughter-in-law, Sandra
Thomas in 1998; a brother, Horace D. Thomas; and a sister, Grace McDonald.
Graveside services for Jean and Fred will be held later this summer. There will be no public visitation. Interment will be in the Thomas family lot in Greenwood Cemetery.

DAVID R. PRIM
WEST SHORE ROAD, ALBURGH - David R. Prim, 59, a resident of San Francisco, Calif. for many years and for the past three years of the Alburgh community, passed away at his home on West Shore Road late Monday afternoon, June 12, 2006, with family at his side. David enjoyed the magnificent views, sunsets and beautiful Lake Champlain.
Born in Burlington on July 9, 1946, he was the son of the late Ernest and Helen (Powell) Prim. David graduated from Burlington High School and achieved an accounting degree from a Community College in California. He was owner/operator and a residential General Contractor for many years, prior to moving back to Vermont.
In addition to his partner, Evan Anderson of 30 years of Alburgh, David leaves three brothers, Steve Prim and his wife, Bonnie of St. Albans, Ernest Prim and his wife, Carlene of Tennessee, Larry Prim of South Burlington; and four sisters, Rebecca & Roger Lapointe of Burlington, Judith Franco of North Carolina, Katie Prim of Winooski and Patricia Davis of Essex; as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends.
David was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Lorie McEntee; and a brother, Peter Prim.
A Memorial Service will be held from the United Methodist Church in Isle La Motte Village at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2006, with the Reverend Marcheta Townsend officiating. At the family’s request there will be no public calling hours and interment will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, 05488.
KEVIN M. JERRY
ST. ALBANS - Funeral services were held for Kevin M. Jerry, Saturday, June 17, 2006, at 10 a.m. in Church of the Rock, with Pastor Roland Ludlam officiating. Interment followed the service in the Jerry/Snaith family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The St. Albans Town Fire Department Color Guard formed an honor guard for the services. Urn Carriage bearers were David Bushey, Charlie Taylor, Darren Totten, and Mike Lussier. Honorary Bearers were Timothy Jerry, Raymond Rogers III, Rick Richards and Paul Greenwood.
Omitted from the obituary were his aunts and uncles, Robin Pepin and her husband Michael, Jim Nutting and his wife Ann, and friend Joey Pearo.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.
KATHERINE M. (McCARTY) FLANDERS
BURLINGTON - Kay Flanders, 81, formerly of 230 St. Paul St., passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2006, in Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born in Winooski on Aug. 15, 1924, the daughter of Cornelius and Antoinette (Goselin) McCarty.
She was in housekeeping at the former Burlington Convalescent Center and was a parishioner of the Cathedral. While living on St. Paul Street she was proud to be the sacristan for the special Masses there. She was a former member of the Burlington Ladies of the Moose and the Burlington V.F.W. Auxiliary, Post 782. In her spare time, Kay enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles and bingo.
She leaves her daughter and husband, Jane and Rene Benoit of Swanton; three grandchildren and spouses, Nicole and Tim Rafuse, Robert and Christina Benoit, and Julia Benoit; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Benoit and Mia Rafuse; two sisters, Elaine and her husband, Maurice Parent, and Martha McCarty; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Francis Flanders in 1968; and brother, Lawrence Thomas.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated this morning (Monday) at 9 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, with interment following in Binghamville Cemetery, Fletcher.

JEFFREY EDWIN ELLIOTT
MONTGOMERY CENTER - Jeffrey Edwin Elliott, age 55, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington with his loving family and friends at his side.
He was born Dec. 27, 1950, in Manhattan, N.Y. Jeff was raised and schooled on Long Island where as an adult he worked hard at establishing a successful landscape construction business. In 1987, he gave up the city life and his business to purchase a farmhouse in Montgomery Center, Vt.
Jeff always had a love for the country and a passion for exploring the outdoors and felt very fortunate to be able to share that with his family. While living in Vermont he built log homes and most recently worked for TFM Construction Co. in Burlington as a working foreman. Some of his fondest memories included sugaring with horses the old fashioned way, sharing a beer with friends and most of all the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Tschinkel) Elliott of Montgomery Center; his children, Jason Elliott of Long Island, N.Y., Brad Elliott of Montgomery Center and Lauren (Elliott) Krutsinger and her husband, Kyle of Tampa, Fla.; his parents, Charles and Katherine (Buschman) Elliott of Montgomery Center; and his brother, Russell Elliott of Swanton.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on Friday, June 30, at 2 p.m. at his home on 3087 South Main St. (Route 118), Montgomery Center.
MARY JEANNETTE DIXON
Funeral services for Mary Jeannette Dixon, who passed away on May 6, 2006, were held on Friday, June 16, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Dennis E. Hayward, Rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church officiating. Music was provided by organist and vocalist, Mary Jo Gillilan. Words of Remembrance were offered by Jeanette’s daughter, Jennifer Dixon.
In attendance was representation from the Old Foundry Restaurant, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, First Congregational Church, Bellows Free Academy Class of 1943,St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Paul Poquette Realty Group and the Owl Club.
Following Prayers of committal by Father Hayward, interment took place in the Dixon family lot in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery. A luncheon followed at the Owl Club hosted by Arthur Heald.
Assisting Jeannette’s family was the Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans.
RICHARD ‘DICKIE’ WILFRID RAINVILLE
FRANKLIN - Funeral services were held Friday, June 16, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Benedict Kiely, Rev. Maurice Boucher, Rev. Bernard Bechard, and Rev. Maurice Rainville concelebrating the Mass of Christian Burial, assisted by Leonard Charron. Organist/Soloist was Claire Hungerford.
Scripture readings were proclaimed by Dickie’s nephew, Dale Magnant and niece Rosanne Towne. Offertory gifts were presented by his nieces, Martha Magnant and Jane Cushing. The eulogy was given by his nephew, Brian Rainville.
Interment followed in the Rainville family lot at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Franklin with Rev. Maurice Boucher offering prayers of committal. Urn bearers were his nephews, Tony and Craig Rainville.
Following the Mass a gathering was held at St. John the Baptist Parish hall.
Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls assisted the family with arrangements.
LEONARD STILLMAN TABOR, JR.
BELLINGHAM, Wash. / FAIRFAX, Vt. - Leonard Stillman Tabor Jr., 72, died on April 27, 2006, in Bellingham Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bellingham, Wash. after a battle with leukemia. He was born Oct. 4, 1933, in Colchester, the son of the late Leonard and Beryle (King) Tabor.
Leonard graduated from B.F.A. in Fairfax, the Class of 1951 and Vermont Technical College in 1953. He joined the service, serving in the U.S. Army. He then ventured out to see the world and took up residence in California where he spent most of his life. Leonard was employed by the Los Angeles Sheriff Department and as Head of Plant Security for Lockheed Aircraft Manufacturing. He also spent some time as a equipment salesman in Bellingham, Wash. When his father decided to retire from farming, he returned to Fairfax and purchased the farm and ran it for a short time before returning to California.
Survivors include one son, Leonard Stillman Tabor III and his wife, Mandy of Hollister, Calif.; a brother, Sidney F. Tabor of Hawthorne, Nev., his former wife, Anne Tabor of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister-in-law; Kathleen Tabor of St. Albans; and several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Leonard was also predeceased by a brother, Alton.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Fairfax Plains Cemetery on the McNall Road in Fairfax with the Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating. A luncheon will follow at the United Church of Fairfax to celebrate Leonard’s life.

SHEILA ANN BOUCHARD
ST. ALBANS - Sheila Ann Bouchard, 62, a resident of St. Albans since 1976, passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 15, 2006, with her family at her side following a courageous battle with ALS. She was born in New London, Conn. on Nov. 2, 1943, the daughter of the late Richard and Rose (Einhorn) Main.
Sheila graduated from New London High School in New London, Conn. and retired in 2003 after 15 years of service with the U.S. Immigration Service. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed camping with friends, dancing, traveling, watching the Red Sox, having her Dunkin Donuts coffee and most of all her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of almost 40 years, Gerald T. Bouchard Sr. of St. Albans; a son, Gerald Bouchard Jr. and his wife, Kim Fitzgerald of Colchester, Vt.; two daughters, Sherri Shortt and her husband, Steven of
Waterford, Conn. and Dawn West and her husband, Steven of South Windsor, Conn.; four grandchildren: Stephanie Shortt, Thomas Shortt, Stephanie Fitzgerald and Samantha West; a brother, Ronald Main and his wife, Judith of South Windsor, Conn.; a half brother, Richard Main and his wife, Susan of Spokane, Wash.; a half sister, Vera Mae Berneski of Moses Lake, Wash.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Sheila was predeceased by her brother, James Main.
The family would like to give thanks to the Franklin County Home Health Agency for their extraordinary hospice care, with special thanks to Kim Charbonneau, Maryellen Sanders and Carol Cohen for taking such wonderful care of Sheila.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main St., St. Albans with Rabbi David Steinberg officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery in St. Albans. Sheila’s family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
