ABRAHAM C. TATRO, JR.
BERKSHIRE - A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, June 15, 2006, at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Swanton with Father Reid Farrell celebrating. Scripture Readings were read by Rose Bacon. The organist was Robert Guerrina.
Interment followed in the Tatro family lot in Riverside Cemetery. Casket bearers were Abe’s sons, Ernie and Jeff Tatro; brother-in-law and nephew, Allard "Butch" Hakey and Michael Hakey; nephew, Alan Phillips; and friend, Dan Bartlett.
Delegations in attendance were from St. Albans City School, Fonda Container, Betty’s Flower Basket, St. Albans City Fire Department and Call Force, and other friends and relatives.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.

ISLE LA MOTTE - Graveside Services and Interment for Mrs. Edna Olivia Bradley who died Feb. 5, 2006, were held Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the Bradley / Fleury family lot in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE, pastor of St. Amadeus Parish, Alburgh and St. Joseph’s Mission, Isle La Motte officiated. Assisting was The Reverend Mr. Alan Vincelette; Deacon assigned to the Lake Champlain Islands Parishes.
Many friends and neighbors from the Isle La Motte community were in attendance.

ISLE LA MOTTE - A Funeral Service was held Friday morning, June 30, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the Union Bible Church in Alburgh Village. The Reverend Doctor John C. Kehoe officiated. Music was provided by pianist Vern Colburn and special music by soloists, Gwen Brown and Judy Paquette.
The New Testament Reading from 1 Corinthians was proclaimed by daughter, Terri Romaine. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by son, SSG Jeffrey Houglin as well as family friends, Helena Haffley, Gwen Brown, Ann McKay, Jeremy Flax, Rick LeBlanc and Mathias Kaiser. Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Isle La Motte Town Offices, United Methodist Church, Historical Society, Public Library, Elementary School and Lodge 81 F. & A.M. Also delegations from the Visiting Nurse Association, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 76 Alburgh, Cross Roads Mobil, The Boat Smith, Island in the Sun Senior Citizens, Kaiser Farms, Howard’s Alarm Service, Americorps, Alburgh Town and Village Offices, Alburgh Public Library, The Sportsman’s Inn, Union Bible Church, St. Amadeus Parish and many North Point friends and neighbors.
Following the funeral service full military honors were accorded the deceased on the north lawn of the church by members of the Vermont Air National Guard, 158th Honor Guard Team. Officer in Charge was LTC Ann Varney. Members of the Firing Party were Major Melvin Terry, MSGT Scott Robbins, SMS Diane Kinne, MSG David Lavallee, SGT Bradley Whalen, SMS Donald Peterson and SGT Eric Evans. Bugler, MSGT James Bushey sounded Taps. The American flag, which draped the United States Air Force and Vietnam veteran’s casket, was folded by SMS Donald Peterson and presented to his wife, Mrs. Grace Houglin by LTC Ann Varney.
The bearers were Leo’s sons, Jeffrey and Kenneth Houglin; son-in-law, John Romaine; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Smith.
Following the funeral and military services a Bereavement Luncheon was served to family and friends in the church fellowship hall hosted by members of the parish.
CLAIRE A. DOWLING
Largely attended funeral services for Claire A. Dowling, who passed away on June 28, 2006, were held on Saturday, July 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with the Reverend Herman Benjamin officiating. Music was provided by organist, Mary-Barker Roby and vocalist, Claire Chevalier Hungerford.
Interpreter and signer was Sylvia Oblak. The Holy scriptures were proclaimed by Claire’s brother, Karl Ashline. Family remembrances were
offered by Karen Jette and Debbie Hammond.
In attendance was representation from Creative Habitat, employees of the former Ben Franklin Stores, employees of the former Dowlings Store, Old Foundry Restaurant, King’s Cove Restaurant, Lorraine’s, Mylan Industries, Circle 5 , United Methodist Women, Chi Rho Fellowship of St. Paul’s, St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1938, former co-teachers of Poultney High School, Howard’s, The Flower Shop, The Handy Group, St. Albans Historical Society, Franklin County Museum, Brown, Cahill, Gawne and Miller, The Craft Warehouse, Domestic Engineers Home Demonstration Group, Caldwell Bankers - Choice Properties, Bruley & Bruley, Prospect and Congress Street neighbors, Club Respite, and Franklin County Home Health Agency.
Honorary Casket bearers were Madeline Howard and Lucy Parah.
Casket bearers were Frank Dowling, Jr., Larry Bevins, Walt Sherrer, Darren Connolly, Dan Ashline and Brian Harris.
Following Prayers of Committal by Pastor Benjamin, interment took place in the Dowling family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery.
A luncheon followed in the Fellowship Hall, hosted by the United Methodist Women of St. Paul’s.
Assisting Claire’s family was the Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans.
BARBARA J. BROUILLETTE
ST. ALBANS / HILLSBORO, N.H. - Barbara J. Brouillette, 76, a resident of St. Albans since 1943 and a resident of New Hampshire since 1985, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, June 27, 2006. She was born in Montreal, Quebec on Sept. 27, 1929, the daughter of the late Florence and Frederick Lawton. On May 8, 1948, she married William Donald Brouillette Jr., who predeceased her on Nov. 11, 1985.
While living in St. Albans, Barb worked for 30 years as a medical secretary for Dr. Walter H. Rath. She attended Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and for many years she was an active member and strong supporter of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and Green Mountain Post 1, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.
Prior to her retirement in 1999, she continued to work in the medical field, providing her expertise to the Leahy Clinic, Concord Hospital and Dr. Forbes Orthopedic practice. She moved to Hillsboro in 2002, where she developed a large group of friends and was a member of the Garden Gate Community. She gained much pleasure from her family, her friends and her home.
Survivors include daughter, Cynthia Chapman and her husband, Stephen of Weare, N.H.; two grandsons, Christopher Chapman of Weare, N.H. and Nicholas Chapman of Beverley, Mass.; her brother, Richard Lawton and his family of St. Albans; and a very special friend, Catherine Nutter of St. Albans.
Barb’s family will receive friends today (June 30) from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home, 32 School Street, Hillsboro, N.H. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 3, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the family lot in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery on the Lake Road.

CLAIRE A. DOWLING
ST. ALBANS - Claire A. Dowling, 76, a life long area resident, passed away
unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at the Northwestern Medical Center. She was born in Alburgh, Vt. on Feb. 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Clarence and Alyce (Creller) Ashline. On June 23, 1956, in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Claire married Hubert A. Dowling, who survives her. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past weekend.
Claire graduated from the University of Vermont and was a secondary education teacher in Poultney and Richford. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Circle 5 of the United Methodist Women, the Phi Alpha Class, St. Albans Historical Society and Museum, the St. Albans Free Library and was a member of the Northwestern Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Hubert A. of St. Albans; their two sons, Mark A. Dowling and his partner, Chris Perrera of Colchester and Michael D. Dowling and his special friend, Karen Jette of Essex Junction; her brother, Karl Ashline and his wife, Heather of Williston; her cousin, Judy Sherrer and her husband, Walter of St. Albans, and their children, Anthony Urban and Amy and Tim Sherrer; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Dowling of St. Albans; her nieces and nephews, Dan and Sheila Ashline, Deborah and Bradley Hammond, Natalie Dowling, Terry and David Knight, Donna Dowling, Lori and Bill Hoffner, Frank and Debby Dowling Jr., Sarah and Mark Vogler, Jennifer and David Partelow, Mary Lou and Larry Bevins, David Charbonneau, Mary and Dr. Cliff Nemeth,
Patricia Barry, and John and Jackie Dowling Jr.; and her special friends, Madeline Howard and Lucy Parah.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church on Church Street with the Reverend Herman Benjamin officiating. Interment will follow in the Dowling family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery. Claire’s family will receive friends on Friday (today) from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.

FRANCIS HALL
WESTFORD - A Funeral service for Francis Hall was held on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the United Church of Westford, officiated by Pastor Joseph Moore. Organ and vocal selections were by Mary Jo Gillilan.
Representatives were present from Gary Schoolcraft Real Estate, Milton Town Offices, IBM, Burlington Electric as well as a wealth of friends and neighbors.
Remembrances were by daughters Lois Jerome and Alice Giroux, grandchildren Amanda Hall, Alissa Giroux and Robby Nolan, and family friends John Desranleau, and Sue Correia.
Francis was paid a final tribute by his six children, Beverly Hall, Lois Jerome, Alice Giroux, Raymond, James and Frank Hall, who served as pallbearers.
Francis was driven to the East Cemetery in Williston, past the family farm in Westford, by his three daughters.
Committal prayers were offered by Pastor Joseph Moore before Francis was lowered into the grave, which was filled in by his children.
Arrangements were by the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
PATRICIA A. LaPOINT
Patricia "Patsy" LaPoint, 71, died at her home in Craftsbury, Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in the loving care of her family. Born in Essex Center, March 17, 1935, she was the daughter of Harold and Antonia (Pouliot) Pecor.
She attended school in Canada and Burlington and on Jan. 15, 1955, married Richard LaPoint. They moved from Fletcher to Craftsbury where they had purchased a dairy farm. Together they operated the dairy farm until they sold it in the late 1970s.
Patsy worked several years at Willey's Store in Greensboro until she was forced to retire for health reasons. She enjoyed her family, flowers, quilting, knitting, watercolor painting, and playing softball.
Besides her husband, Richard LaPoint, she leaves four sons, Stuart and his wife, Sheila, Clifford and his wife, Karen, Raymond and his wife, Jennifer, all of Craftsbury, and Daniel of LaGrande, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and many extended family. She was predeceased by her parents; and a son, Nathan.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 1, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Rev. John Hamilton as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Binghamville Cemetery in Fletcher.

ALBURGH - The Liturgy of Christian Burial was concelebrated Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at 1 p.m. from St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Church. The pastor, Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE was the celebrant and homilist. Other concelebrating priests were Father John J. Meagher, SSE pastor of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Swanton and St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Highgate Center and Father Marcel R. Rainville, SSE from the Office of Campus Ministry at St. Michael’s College. The Reverend Mr. Alan Vincelette assisted as Deacon of the Altar and Mrs. Constance Boutin served as Minister of the Altar. Music was provided by soloists, Maurice Gauthier, Louis Raiche and Carla and Brian Langlois accompanied by organist, Carol Pellerin.
The White Funeral Pall was draped over Paul’s casket by his daughter, Sharon Bockus and husband, Dan and son, Richard Paquette and wife, Bonnie. The crucifix was then placed by grandson, Brian Paquette. Readings from The Old and New Testament were proclaimed by niece, Kim and John Chesarek. The Offertory Gifts were presented by brother, Phillip Paquette and sisters, Marion Lauzon, Lorraine Soule, Donalda Paquette and Gertrude Poquette. A guard of honor was formed by members of the American Legion, Creller-Landon Post 60, Alburgh.
Among the many delegations in attendance were representatives from the Vermont Senate and House of Representatives, Franklin County Industrial Corporation, The United Way, Franklin County Business and Professional Women’s Organization, Vermont Precision Tools, Medtronic Purchasing Supply Team, The Anspach Effort, Hero’s Welcome, Visiting Nurses Association, Alburgh Town and Village Offices, North Hero Town Offices, Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue, Grand Isle County Court, Care Connection, Island in the Sun Senior Citizens, Green Mountain Tours, St. Albans Chamber of Commerce, Swanton Chamber of Commerce, Chittenden Bank, Peoples Trust, Cross Roads Mobile, Christopher Advertising, Warren Fournier Home Improvement Center, Wood and Kidder, Inc., IBM, Northwestern Medical Center, Alburgh Public Library, Champlain Country Club, Americorps, St. Albans Cooperative Creamery, Vermont Department of Economic Opportunity, Island Realty and Office of Attorney George Spear.
Interment followed in the Paquette family lot in St. Amadeus Cemetery with Father Boucher assisted by Fathers Meagher and Rainville reading the committal prayers. The bearers were grandson, Robbie Calderwood; and nephews, Bernard Holbrook, David Eisenman, Ron Pelchat, Alton James and Rodney James.
Full Military Honors were accorded the deceased by members of the Vermont Air National Guard, Honor Guard Team. Officer in Charge was Major Melvin Terry. The American flag, which draped the World War II and United Stats Army Veterans casket, was folded by SMS Peterson and presented to Paul’s children Sharon Bockus and Richard Paquette by Major Terry.
On Wednesday evening the Alburgh American Legion conducted a prayer service in the funeral home led by Commander, Neil Christopher and Chaplain, Eulcie Gaudette. Following The Prayers of Committal and Military Services a Bereavement Luncheon was served for family and friends at the Alburgh American legion hosted by the Auxiliary.
THERESA M. BOULET PELISSIER
KINGSEY FALLS, QUEBEC - Theresa Boulet Pelissier went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2006, after her battle of failing health due to diabetes. She was born in Kingsey Falls, Quebec on Feb. 22, 1923, daughter of the late Phillip and Helene’ Dummochel Boulet.
Theresa was an incredibly strong woman who devoted her life to the Lord, her predeceased husband, Laurent Antonio Pelissier, and her children. She had an unconditional love and will be missed by all.
Theresa is survived by her six children, Jocelyne Teague, her son Rene Pelissier and his companion, Judy Currier, Diane Williams and her husband, Robert, Pete Pelissier and his wife, Dorcas, Sue Pelissier and her life long companion, Daniel Cyr, and Louse Luneau; her grandchildren, Michelle, Rene, Anthony, Ryan, and Amy Pelissier, Ann and Monique Teague, Eric, Jason, and Sarah Cyr, Lisa, Scott, and Kevin Williams, Lindsey Smith, and Reid Luneau; her great-grandchildren; a sister, Jacqueline Couture; a brother, Paul Boulet and his wife, Jeannine; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Laurent; four children, Evonne, Dennis, Nicole and Phillip; and her five brothers, Gerald, Bertrand, Andre’ Jacques, and Claude Boulet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 30, 2006, at 11 a.m. in St. Aime Church de Falls in Kingsey Falls, Quebec. There will be no visiting hours.

FRANCIS L. HALL
WESTFORD - Francis L. Hall, 85 of Woods Hollow Road, died Monday evening, June 26, 2006, in the presence of his loving family in the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington.
Francis was born March 10, 1921, in Johnson, the son of the late E. Chester and Eva M. Macomber Hall.
He graduated from Bellows Free Academy in Fairfax with the Class of 1939. On June 26, 1940, he married Bertha Phelps of Westford. The two of them had various jobs until 1952 when they purchased their own farm in Westford. Married for 57 years they raised their family of six children, who survive them. Beverly Hall of Westford, Lois Jerome and her husband, Clark of Fletcher, Alice Giroux and her husband, Bob of Westford, Raymond Hall and his wife, Bonnie of Westford, James Hall and his wife, Claire of Milton and Frank Hall and his wife, Julie of Fletcher. Francis also leaves 22 grandchildren, Malcolm, Michael, Mark, Christopher, Clarke, Bobby, Shaun, Tracy, Marie, Michelle, Robby, Jeremy, Alissa, Ben, Ryan, Sam, Kianna, Kylee, Timeka, Amanda, Casey and Doug. He also leaves his 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom he thought the world of. Francis is also survived by his sister, Emily Packard of Essex Center.
In his retirement years he was a member of the Northeast Fiddlers Association and the Champlain Valley Fiddlers Club. He enjoyed going to farm auctions and visiting with neighbors and friends. He had a real love of life and family. Most of all he enjoyed attending family gatherings. He loved seeing his entire family doing things together and staying close. There will be a huge emptiness in our hearts without him. He is so sadly missed and will be forever loved by his family.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bertha Phelps Hall on Dec. 25, 1997; his brother, Walt Hall; his sister, Barbara Rogers; and a very special grandson, Kenny Jerome.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the United Church of Westford. Burial will follow in the East Cemetery in Williston.
Contributions may be made to the Educational Fund being established for his great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Jerome, in care of Alice Giroux, 80 Rollin Irish Road, Westford, Vt. 05494.
Visiting Hours will be held today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7 in Milton.
