Frederick H. Wells
Lincoln, Vermont
Frederick Harley Wells passed away on the afternoon of Thursday, September 30, 1999 while sitting in his favorite chair at home in Lincoln.
He was born in the year 1923 in Burlington, Vermont. He married "the love of his life" Anna James Wells on October 22, 1948.
He worked as a Tool and Die Machinist at Simmonds Precision in Panton, Vermont from which he retired in 1986. He lived and raised his family on Quaker Street on the old Purinton Farm in Lincoln.
Frederick served his Country with distinction during World War II, in the African Theater and Pacific Theater, with extensive world travel, an honor he carried with him all his life.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking the great outdoors; a passion he has passed on to his children and grandchildren. His sense of adventure led him to experience scuba diving, flying, horse training and riding, raised and trained dogs; he was an Eagle Scout, Scout Leader and member of the Masonic Lodge of Vergennes Cairo Temple, Shrine Clown unit "Poppa Clown."
He is remembered with much love and admiration by his family; wife, Anna Wells; children; Leath Meunier and her husband Robert, Ellen Rotax and her husband Lester, Gay Truax and her husband Ward, Frederick Wells, Jr. and Rose, Kathleen Wells. Grandchildren; Travis Truax, Tony Bezanson Wells, Tyson Rotax, Kyle Bezanson Wells, Prudence Meunier, Ahmin Meunier, Ira Truax, Mikko Wells, Frederick Harley Wells, III and an abundance of relatives and friends.
A memorial Celebration of his life was celebrated Monday, October 4, 1999 at the United Church of Lincoln.

Kermit C. Wrisley, Sr.
Vergennes, Vermont
Kermit C. Wrisley, Sr., 87, died Saturday, October 2, 1999 at his home in Vergennes.
He was born on December 3, 1911 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Clayton and Marion (Mason) Wrisley, Jr.
Kermit was a life-long resident of Vergennes. He was employed at the Vergennes Milk Plant for 15 years and was a Route Mail Carrier for 25 years. Kermit owned and operated Wrisley's Bike Service for 60 years. Kermit enjoyed being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley (Underwood) Wrisley of Vergennes; three sons, Kermit C. Wrisley, Jr. of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, Kenneth Wrisley of Colchester and James Wrisley of Vergennes; two grandchildren, Stacy Wrisley of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, Tyler Wrisley of Ferrisburgh, sister Mertie Strong of Willsboro, New York, and brother Carroll Wrisley of Grand Isle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 5, 1999 at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. Interment was in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes.

Florestine Theroux
Cornwall, Vermont
Mrs. Florestine Marleau Quesnel, Theroux, 96, died on October 4, 1999 at the home of Shirley Trombley and John Powers of Cornwall, who were her caregivers whom she enjoyed for her last 3 1/2 years.
She was born on November 30, 1902 in St. Isadore de Prescott, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Aja and Donalda Marle Marleau.
She married Elzear Quesnel in 1922. She later married Joseph Theroux of Burlington, Vermont in 1952. Both husbands predeceased her. She is survived by five children; Lorenzo Quesnel and his wife Ann of Salisbury, Vermont, four daughters; Mary Jane Deline and her husband Leonard of Claremont, New Hampshire, Fleur Ange Page and her husband Marcel of Whiting, Jeanine McDougall of St. Petersburg, Florida, Claire Desautels and her husband Maurice of Middlebury. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Anna Mae Quesnel of Wichendon, Massachusetts; 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Girard Quesnel.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 7, 1999 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Middlebury. The celebrant was the Reverend John McDermott, Pastor.

Fawn Perlee
Bristol, Vermont
Fawn Perlee, 47, died peacefully Saturday, October 9, 1999 at her home. She was surrounded by family and friends following a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Ayers, Massachusetts on September 24, 1952, the daughter of Theodore and Marion (Churchill) Pilon, Sr.
Fawn was a long-time employee of the Bristol Elementary School.
She will be remembered as a strong, inspirational and loving person. Her wonderful outlook on life will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Fawn is survived by her husband Peter Perlee of Bristol; two sons, Lance Perlee of Bristol, Kris and his wife Jen Perlee of Hinesburg; parents Ted and Marion Pilon, Sr. of Bristol; Mother-in-law Juna Perlee of Bristol; brother Ted and his wife Felicia Pilon, Jr. of New York; sister Karen and her husband Larry Wallis of Virginia. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Bristol. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

Alma H. Tatro
Starksboro, Vermont
Alma H. Tatro, 85, died October 9, 1999 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
She was born February 16, 1914 in Starksboro, the daughter of Frank and Carrie (Hill) Hanson.
She was a member of Starksboro 1st Baptist Church. She married Russell Tatro on June 25, 1936.
Alma is survived by her husband Russell E. Tatro of Starksboro; a son Roger Tatro and his wife Terry of Port Henry, New York; two granddaughters, Jennifer and her husband Bill Kaigle of Milton, Tamara and her husband Joe Boise of Bridport; two step-grandchildren, James Smith of Port Henry, New York and A.J. Bitegood of Connecticut; a great-granddaughter, Courtn'e, several nieces and nephews. Alma was predeceased by a sister, Nina Landon.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at the Bristol Federated Church. Interment was in Green Mount Cemetery in Starksboro.

John (Jack) Miner
West Ferrisburgh
John (Jack) Miner, 72, passed away Sunday, October 10, 1999 at his home in West Ferrisburgh.
He was born June 9, 1927 in Panton, the son of Joseph and Minnie (Jerome) Miner, Sr.
He was employed by State of Vermont Highways for many years. He also farmed in Ferrisburgh for forty-five years on the Riverdale Farm.
John is survived by his wife, Janet Miner of West Ferrisburgh; two sons, Keith Miner and Larry Miner and wife Pamela; a very special granddaughter, Kellie Miner; all of West Ferrisburgh; a sister, Clara Jewell of Shoreham; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Marie Allen and Magiena Miner; one brother, Joseph Miner, Jr.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday, October 13, 1999 at St. Peter's Church in Vergennes. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery in Vergennes.

Ethel M. LaDeau
Vergennes, Vermont
Ethel M. LaDeau, 81, died Thursday, October 14, 1999 at the Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury.
She was born on November 21, 1918 in Fairfax, the daughter of Henry and Linda (Griffin) Ryan.
Ethel was employed at the Alburg Telephone Office, as a private cook in Charlotte and CN, and the Brattleboro Retreat.
She married Floyd Sorrell in 1952. He predeceased her in 1978. She married Bill LaDeau in 1982. He predeceased her in 1986.
Ethel is survived by a sister-in-law Florence Ryan of Halifax; five nieces, Lucille Brooker of Charlotte, Janice Ryan of Brandon, Alice Tefft of Putney, Thelma Goman of Salem, New York, Margaret Hillman of Colrain, Massachusetts; two nephews Howard Ryan, Jr. of North Charleston, New Hampshire, Irwin Ryan of Halifax; several grand-nieces and nephews, and a cousin Ray Flanders of Fletcher.
Funeral Services were held Monday, October 18, 1999 at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment was in Monktonboro Cemetery.

Arthur L. Flemings, Jr.
Lincoln, Vermont
Arthur Lee Flemings, Jr's. life was taken on Thursday, October 14, 1999. He was 27 years old.
He was born in Middlebury on November 10, 1971, the son of Arthur L. and Gloria (Deo) Flemings, Sr.
Artie enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing softball. Artie was a father of six children. Artie was a very good father, he loved his children very much. He always dreamed of teaching his children how to hunt and fish.
Artie is survived by his parents, Arthur and Gloria Flemings, Sr. of Lincoln, wife Tammy (Martell) Flemings of Bristol; three sisters, Jessie Flemings of Lincoln, Veronica Sargent and her husband Leslie Sargent, Jr. of Lincoln, Rose Marie Hardy of Bristol; two brothers, Robert Cox of Rutland and Keith Mailhotte of Stowe; his five children, Ashley, Amber, Heidi, Duke and Danyel; Grandmothers Rena Flemings of Lincoln and Gladys Bertrand of West Rutland. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Artie was predeceased by a daughter, Marissa, in 1998.
He is still loved very much and will be deeply missed. May God be with him now. We love you.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 18, 1999 at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment was in Maple Cemetery in Lincoln.
