CLIFFORD C. PUTNAM
Largely attended funeral services for Clifford C. Putnam, who passed away on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, were held on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Herman Benjamin, Pastor of St. Pauls United Methodist Church officiating. Musical selections, In the Garden, Go Rest High, One Day at A Time, and Will the Circle Be Unbroken were by vocalist and guitarist, Gail Perras.
In attendance and forming a Guard of Honor were members from the Green Mountain Post 1, American Legion and Robert E. Glidden Post 758, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Also in attendance was representation from St. Albans Lodge 1566, B.P.O.E., The Handy Group, Food Science Corporation, Wyeth Nutritional, Ed White Auto Sales, S.C.O.T., Champlain Valley Mechanical, J-6 Vermont Army National Guard, TD Banknorth, Camp Johnson, Montcalm Realty and Department of Homeland Security.
Following Prayers of Committal by Reverend Benjamin, the American flag from the U.S. Army Veterans casket was presented to Cliffs sons, Steven and Dwayne Putnam by Curtis Brown representing the Veterans Organizations. The Guard of Honor then accorded the Veteran a final salute. St. Albans Lodge 1566, B.P.O.E. conducted their memorial service at the conclusion of visitation on Tuesday evening in the Heald Funeral Chapel with Exalted Ruler, Joseph Montcalm, Esquire, Todd Soule, Loyal Knight, Patrick Luneau, PER, Lecturing Knight, Roger Bennett, Chaplain, Nancy Bronson, Keith Palmer, PER, PGER and Secretary, Deborah Chevrier.
FLORENCE MARY BROWN
Funeral services for Florence Mary Brown, who passed away on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, were held on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at 7 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy, Pastor of Holy Angels Catholic Church, officiating. Musical selections, Amazing Grace, In the Garden, Will the Circle Be Unbroken, Softly and Tenderly, and The Song of Fairwell, were by vocalist and guitarist, Gail Perras. Special music, You Are My Sunshine, was by the delegation from the Franklin County Rehab Center.
In attendance was representation from the former SOLO Group, Barry Callebaut, U.S.A, the Franklin County Sportsman Club and On the Run Mobil.
Following Prayers by Father Roy, private interment was on Thursday morning in the Brown family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Assisting Florences family was the Heald Funeral Chapel.
ADAM ALLEN POQUETTE
CHAMPLAIN, N.Y. / ALBURGH, Vt. - Adam Allen Poquette, 22, a longtime resident of Champlain, N.Y. died late Wednesday evening, Nov. 22, 2006, in a tragic fire at the family hunting camp in Craftsbury, Vt.
Born in St. Albans, Vt. on Dec. 29, 1983, Adam was the son of Allen and Karen (Mumley) Poquette. He graduated from Northeastern Clinton Central School with a Regents Diploma in 2003.Adam worked for the Alburgh Mobile Shortstop for several years before transferring to Vermont Precision Tools in Swanton, Vt.
Adam was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He waited in great excitement and anticipation each year to spend the hunting season in the chilly woods of Vermonts Northeast Kingdom. Adam thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his brother and sisters and liked working with gas powered cars and remote controlled airplanes.
Adam leaves his father and stepmother, Allen and Darlene Poquette of Champlain, N.Y.; his mother and stepfather, Karen and David Aulis of Alburgh, Vt.; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Maryann Poquette of Alburgh; paternal grandparents, Diane and Bob Marks of Rouses Point, N.Y. and paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Frances Poquette of Alburgh; maternal grandparents, Elaine and Vernon James of Alburgh; one brother, Joshua Poquette of Champlain; two sisters, Rachel Maskell and husband Joshua of Rouses Point and Rebecca Poquette of Champlain; very special friends, Larry and Pauline Santor of Alburgh; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, (for reasons of space), 65 Canada St., Swanton, Vt. Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Poquette family lot in St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Cemetery, Alburgh. Relatives and friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, Vt. on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

GLENNA MAY (LUMBRA) MYOTT
Glenna May (Lumbra) Myott, 89, of Vernon, Conn., beloved wife of the late Marshall John Myott, passed away on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006. Born in Montgomery, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Fremont and Ida May (Donna) Lumbra.
Glenna and her husband, Marshall, lived in Richford, Vt. for 25 years before living in Hartford, East Hartford for 30 years, and most recently Vernon for the past 10 years. Glenna worked at the Hartford Fire Insurance Company in the cafeteria before her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and, though she was small in stature, she will always be remembered by her family as a woman of cheerfulness and strength. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, and playing cards.
She leaves her son, Abbott Myott and his wife, Norma of Ontario, Canada; her daughter, Marlene Bryant and her husband, Bruce, of Tolland, Conn.; a daughter-in-law, Marie Myott, of Rockville, Conn.; six grandchildren: Kimberley Rourke and her husband, Timothy, of Ashford, Susan Schadt and her husband, Robert, of Tolland, Mark Bryant and his wife, Susanna, of Tolland, Amy Santoro and her husband, Michael, of Long Island, N.Y., Lisa Myott of Manchester, Conn., and Monique Yorgensen and her husband, Daniel, of Vernon, Conn.; and 10 great-grandchildren. Glenna loved children and her face lit up whenever her great-grandchildren visited her. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald Myott of Rockville, Conn.; her brothers, Harley (Dick), Crayton, Lincoln, Clifton, George, Richard, and Carlis; and three sisters, Ruby, Florence, and Cecilia.
Calling hours will be held Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford, Vt. Committal prayers will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Glenna will be laid to rest with her late husband, Marshall in All Saints Cemetery, Richford, Vt.

NORMA A. (BEAUPRE) PACKARD
COLCHESTER Norma A. (Beaupre) Packard, 70, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. Norma was born in Milton on Nov. 26, 1936, the daughter of Howard and Loretta (Gratton) Beaupre.
She was married to Richard Packard on May 17, 1958, in Essex Center. Richard predeceased her in 1992.
She was employed for many years for the Colchester Middle and High School, retiring following 30 years of service. She and her husband also owned St. Albans Heating & Ventilating.
Norma was very involved with RSVP and the CVAA, where she was a very active volunteer for many years.
She is survived by her son, Richard A. Packard Sr. and his wife, Diana of Colchester, and their children R.J. Packard and his friend, Victoria Harvey of Milton, Molly Packard and her friend, Donald Grace of Bristol, and Jennifer Packard of Colchester; by her mother, Loretta Beaupre of Milton; by her sisters, Mary Boutin of Williston, Nancy Littlefield and her husband, Charles of Milton, Patricia Kirby and her husband, Paul of Milton, Sandra Williams and her husband, Donald of Massachusetts, Lauretta Baker and her husband, Bernard of Burlington; and by her brother, Howard Beaupre and his wife, Flora of Milton.
Norma is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sister-in-laws, Larry Packard and his wife, JoAnne and Reginald Packard and his wife, Frances, all of Essex, Laura Packard of South Hero; and by several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Howard Beaupre; by her brothers-in-laws, Leo Boutin and Bill Packard.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

THOMAS BRENNAN WASBROAD
ST. ALBANS / FAIRFAX Thomas Brennan Wasbroad, age 86, died Saturday afternoon, Nov. 25, 2006, in the Vermont Respite House following a long illness. He was born in St. Albans, Aug. 17, 1920, son of the late Thomas Francis and Mertie (Pelkey) Wasbroad.
Sheriff, as he was fondly known, was loved by many and none more than by the Cook family where he was provided with a caring home. His 24 years in the care of Jessie Cook in Milton and later by her son Dale and wife, Pam Cook in Fairfax, spanned a total of 30 years. Much courage and heroics was displayed by Sheriff and his care providers in recent years.
His survivors include his sister, Lucille Wasbroad Beach of OFallon, Mo.; his brother, Leon Wasbroad of Lake Placid, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters, Myrtle Wasbroad and Eileen Langlois; and his brother, John Wasbroad.
Many thanks to the wonderful people who cared for Sheriff at the St. Albans Dialysis Unit, Franklin County Home Health Agency, transportation services, Northwestern Medical Center, Fletcher Allen Health Care, and Champlain Vocational Services for all their compassionate caring you all were good friends to the end.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. in St. Marys Church on Fairfield Street. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., from 7 to 9 Thursday evening.

PAUL R. CLARK
ENOSBURGH Paul R. Clark, age 77, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, Nov. 27, 2006, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
He was born May 28, 1929, in Richford, Vt., the son of the late Francis and Mildred (Jacobs) Clark.
Paul was a resident of Enosburgh most of his life. He worked as a farmer for 10 years and then worked as a carpenter with his sons and brother for many years retiring in 1991. He served the Town of Enosburgh as selectman for 19 years. He enjoyed gardening and walking and most of all loved deer hunting with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley (Messier) Clark of Enosburgh, they were married Aug. 28, 1950; his sons and their wives, Gregory & Candace Clark, Ricky & Doreen Clark, and Joey and Penny Clark, all of Enosburgh; nine grandchildren: Bradley Clark of Reno, Nev., Dereck Clark of Honolulu, Hawaii, Allison Clark of Enosburgh, Lucas Clark and his wife Becky of North Berwick, Maine, Corey Clark, Matt Clark, Alana Clark, Adam Clark & Ashleigh Clark, all of Enosburgh; and a brother, Luther Clark of Richford. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Douglas Clark.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, Nov. 30, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in the East Berkshire Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls.

FLORENCE MARY BROWN
ST. ALBANS - Florence Mary Brown, 80, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at the Franklin County Rehab Center with her loving family at her side.
She was born in Swanton, Vt. on May 4, 1926, the daughter of the late Clarence K. and Mabel M. (Brow) Bohannon. Florence was married in St. Albans on Nov. 8, 1945, to Herbert A. Brown, who preceded her in death on March 28, 1975.
Florences family meant a great deal to her and includes her daughter, Gloria J. Brown of St. Albans; her son, Alan P. Tiny Brown and his fianc, Beth Dutton of Alburgh; her four grandchildren: Brandy Brown and her fianc, Michael Wells and their two children, Taylor and Devin, all of Highgate, Christopher Brown and his fianc, Brandy Paquette of Sheldon, Rene Dutton of Barre and Lucas Dutton and his wife, Erin and their son, Luke Arley of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; her twin sisters, Thelma Smart and Velma Thibault, both of Swanton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Herbert, Florence was preceded in death by her sisters, Beatrice and Dorothy Bohannon and Clara Bruyette on Nov. 12, 2006; and her brothers-in-law, Edward Smart, Hubert Thibault and Robert Bruyette.
Florences family would like to thank the staff and management of the Franklin County Rehab Center and Holiday House for the 11 years of love and care given during her illness. A special thanks to Sandy Hojaboom, Audrey Jewett and Chris Whalen for being there for Florence and her family.
A private funeral service for family members will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at 7 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main St., St. Albans with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy, Pastor of Holy Angels Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Brown family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and close friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.

ST. ALBANS A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mrs. Linda M. Sturges on Monday at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Father Maurice Roy was the celebrant, assisted by altar servers, James Brouillette and cousin Maynard Gosselin. Sister Cecile Lebeau read the Holy Scripture Lessons. Claire Hungerford was the soloist accompanied by organist Michael Olmstead.
Words of fond remembrances and poems were shared by her sons, Justin and Travis Sturges, and Diane Dupre shared her treasure of Lindas strength with The Healing Circle, for the past 11 years.
Attending and forming a guard f honor were Lindas many associates in The Healing Circle Breast Cancer Group, Linda Wood Mason Society and Mets Hope Chest. Also attending were many representatives of the Ladies of St. Anne, Sisters of Holy Cross, Northwestern Medical Center, Franklin County Quilters Guild, Vermont Gas Company, New England Central Railway, Central Vermont Public Service, Haswell Lodge 39, F & AM, Vermont House of Representatives, Olde Foundry Restaurant, and many neighbors.
Bearers were her sons, Travis and Justin Sturges; dear friends, David MacCallum, Paul Larner, James Levy, Esq., and Robert Gissel.
Sunday evening, Sharon Perry, Pres., Bonnie Evans and Laura Rodgers, members of the Franklin County Quilters Guild, presented a handmade cancer support comfort quilt to Lindas mother, Mrs. Clement (Geraldine) Laflam, and Father Roy held a prayer service with Lindas family in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.
CLIFFORD C. PUTNAM
ST. ALBANS - Clifford C. Putnam, 68, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, Nov. 24, 2006, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. He was born in Sheldon, March 15, 1938, the son of the late Ralph and Evelyn (Whiting) Putnam.
Cliff attended Sheldon Elementary School and was a 1956 graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans. He entered the U. S. Army in July of 1957 and was honorably discharged in July of 1959. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years, retiring in 1992. He then worked part time for Food Science Corporation. He was a member and past officer of St. Albans Lodge 1566, BPOE. He also belonged to Green Mountain Post 1, American Legion and Robert E. Glidden Post 758, VFW. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed going to the races, and spending time with his friends at the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his longtime friend, former wife and mother of his children, Esther Putnam of St. Albans; two sons and their wives, Steven and Yvonne Putnam and Dwayne and Anne Putnam, all of St. Albans; three brothers, Clinton Putnam and his wife, Elaine of Springfield, Mass., Ralph Putnam Jr., and his wife, Mary of Burlington, Vt., Richard Putnam and his companion Pam, of St. Albans; a sister, Reba Meunier and her husband, Lewis of South Burlington; four grandchildren: Jessica Putnam of St. Albans, Abby Putnam of Georgia, Taylor Putnam of Georgia and Evelyn Putnam of St. Albans. He also leaves a special friend, Muriel Bovat of Bristol, Vt.; and nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Pamela Putnam on June 5, 2004.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Herman Benjamin, Pastor of St. Pauls United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Home. At the end of the evening visitation, a memorial service will be conducted in the Heald Chapel by St. Albans Lodge 1566, BPOE for their departed brother.

HOMER CURTIS PROUTY
SWANTON VILLAGE - Homer Curtis Prouty, age 80 years, died early Saturday morning, Nov. 25, 2006, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans City with his family by his side.
Born in St. Albans, Vt. on Aug. 4, 1926, he was the son of the late H. Curtis and Nettie (Hulburd) Prouty. He received his education in Swanton schools graduating from Swanton High School in 1945.
For 35 years Homer was associated with the former A&P Stores working in St. Albans, Swanton, Burlington and Essex Junction. He was later employed for nearly 20 years with Bertek of Swanton retiring in 2002. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict receiving his honorable discharge on July 21, 1956, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Charles DaPrato, Post 778 in Swanton. Homer loved NASCAR racing, especially Jeff Gordon, and enjoyed his yearly trips to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
He lived nearly all of his life on New Street in Swanton Village until May of 2005 when his health required him to become a resident of The Holiday House in St. Albans Town. Homers family gives most sincere thanks to all of the wonderful people at The Holiday House, Franklin County Rehab Center and Northwestern Medical Center for the outpouring of love, care, concern and support given to him and his family.
Homer leaves several nieces and nephews including, Laura Gregoire and her husband, Joseph of Swanton and their children, Anthony (Homers Godchild), Jon and Emily; Pamela Jarvis and her husband, Alex Zidovsky of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. and their children, Matt and wife Caitilin, Sara and Kate; Stephen A. Jarvis of Swanton and Susan Jaborek, her husband, Steve of Essex Junction and their children, Greg Wimble and wife Jen and their daughter Ashley; Chad Wimble and wife Judith and Liza Wimble and fianc Dave Nesbitt; as well as numerous cousins and friends.
His sister, Helen Jarvis, predeceased him on Dec. 12, 1994.
The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Reverend Marcheta Townsend will officiate. Interment will follow in the Prouty family lot in Riverside Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
