DENISE B. RENAGHAN
MATTAPOISETT, Mass. ñ Denise B. (Bilodeau) Renaghan, 64, of Mattapoisett, died Sept. 18, 2006, at home after a long illness.
Born and raised in St. Albans, Vt., the daughter of the late Odilon and Germaine (Lanoue) Bilodeau, she lived in Mattapoisett since 1971.
Mrs. Renaghan was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett and a member of the Cursillo Movement. She was the proprietor of Denise's Pet Care Shop in Mattapoisett since 1981, and had been grooming dogs since 1971.
Survivors include two sons, Peter W. Renaghan II and Patrick J. Renaghan, both of Mattapoisett; five brothers, Gerald Bilodeau, John Bilodeau, George Bilodeau, her twin, Denis Bilodeau and Richard Bilodeau, all of Vermont; two sisters, Rita King of New Hampshire, and Jeannette Schaefer of Long Island; a granddaughter, Tara Elizabeth Renaghan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Marcell and Lawrence Bilodeau.
Her Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church. Visiting hours were held Friday, Sept. 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett.

YVETTE E. DUPUIS
ST. ALBANS - Mrs. Yvette E. Duchesneau Dupuis, age 94, died Sunday evening, Sept. 24, 2006, in the Franklin County Rehab Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in St. Albans, Dec. 2, 1911, daughter of the late Edouard and Della (Maynard) Duchesneau.
She was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Franklin County Senior Citizens. She was a very active of the former Holy Angels Mother's Club. She was employed by Fonda Container Corp. and later at Union Carbide Consumer Products for many years. She was an Avon Representative for several years.
June 26, 1952, she married Emile Dupuis, who predeceased her in June of 1976.
She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Richard and Yolande Hartmann and Robert and Susan Hartxmann, all of Swanton; three step-children and their spouses, Maurice and Donna Dupuis and Jacqueline and John Sharrow all of Waupaca, Wis., Evelyn and Guy Marcoux of Prospect, Conn.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly and Glen Duprey of Highgate, their children Justin and Katie Rushlow of Swanton, Kaitlyn and Christopher Duprey of Highgate, Greg and Helen Hartmann, their children Allie, Anna and Anissa Hartmann all of Fairfax, Jeff and Julie Hartmann and their children Brooks, Erica and John all of Swanton, Jim and Carmen Hartmann and their children, Michael and Joseph all of Swanton; a step daughter-in-law, Eleanor Maynard of St. Albans; a sister-in-law, Alice Duchesneau of St. Albans; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents Edouard and Della, and her husband Emile, she was predeceased by her step-son, John Dupuis; step-granddaughter, Camilla Coleman; sisters, Orette Mayo and Rita Mayo; and brothers, Henry, Norbert, Normand and Lionel Duchesneau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. There will be no public calling hours at her request.

NOELLA B. GODIN
RICHFORD ñ Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Reverend Theobould Richard celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial, assisted by Deacon Clifford Chagnon. Organist and soloist was Claire Hungerford.
The altar server was Noella's grand-nephew, Christian Godin. Following the blessing upon entering church, the Pall was placed on Noella's casket by her children, Diane, Michael and Steven. Scripture readings were proclaimed by her niece-in-law, Janice Godin. Offertory gifts were presented by her granddaughters, Jessica, Gabrielle and Stacey Godin. Stacey also placed a single rose with red, white and blue ribbons on the casket to honor the absence of Noella's grandson, Ryan Godin, serving overseas. The eulogy was given by her daughter, Diane Murray. Floral arrangements were placed in the pew that Noella and Buddy regularly sat in for Mass.
Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery in Richford where Father Richard offered prayers of committal and Noella's son Steven shared many memories and offered words of encouragement and her son Michael also shared memories and had a song played in honor of his mother. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jeffrey and Jason Murray; her nephews, Dennis Lefebvre, Guy Paul, Richard Godin, and Julian Desnoyers. Following the funeral services a luncheon was held at Dorion Hall.

ALICE (SHELDON) HOBART
RICHMOND ñ On Sept. 19, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Alice M. Sheldon Hobart, 89, of Richmond, passed away. Alice was born in New York City, June 17, 1917, the daughter of Rex Preston Sheldon and Emily Nugent Sheldon.
Alice grew up on a farm in Salisbury, and had fond memories of riding her pony, Topsy, to her one-room schoolhouse, which is still standing. She graduated from Middlebury High and attended college in Albany. She also lived in Arlington, Rutland, Brandon, South Burlington, Huntington, St. Albans and New York City.
Allie, who was never at a loss for words, spent most of her life in Media, including 16 years with the Lund Home, an organization that she truly believed in. She worked in newspapers, radio stations and ad agencies, while also writing a book about the loss of her infant son, Geoff, and also one about growing up on a dairy farm. In Rutland, she ran her own photography studio ñ children being her specialty. A lot of time was spent in the darkroom processing the photos.
She was a Justice of the Peace and served on the B.C.A. in Richmond for many years. Allie was a great cook and an avid gardener, who canned her own veggies. She loved to read, and loved listening to Big Band, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Gospel and even Rock & Roll. In the 70s, she enjoyed Pink Floyd and Moody Blues concerts. She was someone with a heart of gold, a deep love for family and lots of good friends.
Alice was a practical Vermonter with sage advice to give, and plenty of wit and wisdom. She is survived by her husband, William, of 53 years; her two sons, Jonathan and Timothy; and her daughter, Meredith. Also by her sister, Emily; brother, Rex; and her grandchildren: Fletcher, Cordi, Jeremy and Lyndsey, and great-grandson, Logan, all of whom she was extremely proud of; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at the family plot in Holman Cemetery in Salisbury at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006. The service will be officiated by Reverend Stewart Pierson of All Saints Church in South Burlington, where Alice and Bill were charter members.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vermont chapter of the American Cancer Society in Alice's name.
The funeral arrangements were made by Gifford Funeral Services in Richmond.
GEORGE E. PLOUFFE
ST. ALBANS - Mr. George E. Plouffe, age 74, died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at Fletcher-Allen Health Care. He was born Nov. 30, 1931, in St. Albans, son of the late James Ploof and Maude (Emerson) Ploof. He married Lorraine Machia, April 15, 1953. George worked in farming and was a logger in his younger years, then retired from Union Carbide in 1992 after 23 years of service.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine; his children, Cynthia Stenta and her husband, Mark, Lisa Callan and her husband, Shawn, all of Swanton, David Plouffe and his wife, Debbie, Bonnie Plouffe and her fiancÈ, Chris Parker, all of St. Albans, Brian Plouffe and Connie Kempton and her husband, Terry, all of Swanton; 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Anna Whitcomb.
Funeral Services were held Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel with Father W. Andre Houle celebrating. Interment followed in the Ploof family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends were invited to call on the family at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

ROGER WILLIAM JEWETT
NORTH HERO ñ Roger William Jewett, 50, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at his home with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Roger was born in Athol, Mass. on Jan. 12, 1956, the son of Frederick Sr. and Hazel (Horner) Jewett. He married Linda Lewis on Sept. 5, 1995, in North Hero, Vt.
Roger had been working for Menard & Sons installing underground utilities for Verizon.
In addition to his wife, Linda of North Hero, Roger is survived by his mother, Hazel and her husband, Richard Powers of North Hero; by his brothers, Frederick Jewett Jr. and his wife Tillie of Milton, and Carlton Jewett of Unity, N.H.
Roger is also survived by Linda's parents, Jim and MaryAnne Lewis of Woodsville, N.H.; his brother-in-law, Jim Lewis Jr. and his wife, Alana of Littleton, N.H.; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Frederick Jewett Sr.; and his brother-in-law, Stephen Lewis.
Funeral services were to be held today (Monday), Sept. 25, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Burial will follow in the Jerusalem Cemetery in North Hero.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Isle Rescue, P.O. Box 79, Grand Isle, Vt. 05458.
Visiting hours were held on Sunday from 2 to 5 in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
ELIZABETH BRAULT GATES
ST. ALBANS CITY / SWANTON - Funeral Services were held Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. from St. Paul's United Methodist Church. The Reverend Marcheta Townsend pastor of The Old Stone United Methodist Church in Isle La Motte officiated. Music was provided by soloist, Claire Chevalier Hungerford accompanied by organist and pianist, Mary Barker Roby.
Special Words of Remembrance were shared by Betty's granddaughter, Erin Read Sorce, brother-in-law, James Burgess, and church associate, Pauline Kelley.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Swanton Town Offices, Law Offices of Callahan Curtiss, Carey and Gates, United Methodist Women, Circle One, Phi Alpha Group, Homemaker's Group, Domestic Engineers, 251 Club of Vermont, Transystems, Peoples Trust Company and many West Swanton friends and neighbors.
Committal Services and Interment immediately followed at the Gates family lot in Riverside Cemetery with The Reverend Mrs. Townsend reading the committal prayers. Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was served for family and friends at the Maquam Shore home of family friend Janet Bailey.
NOELLA B. GODIN
RICHFORD ñ Noella B. Godin, age 79, passed away peacefully to join her heavenly Father on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, in Burlington.
She was born in Sutton, Quebec Canada on Dec. 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Eusebe and Florence (Goyette) Lefebvre.
Noella came to the United States following her marriage to Lawrence ìBuddyî Godin on March 13, 1946. He predeceased her Jan. 4, 2006.
Noella attended catholic schools in Sutton, Quebec. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the America's, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and the Ladies Card Club. She became a US citizen on April 15, 1960.
She was a homemaker who, along with Buddy, operated their dairy farm in West Berkshire, Vt. for 40 years. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking, canning, and especially playing cards with family and friends. She liked watching Father Ben's Mass and Bob Barker's ìThe Price is Right.î She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, neighbor and friend.
She is survived by her children, Diane Murray and her husband, Pat of Waterbury, Michael Godin and his wife, Mary of St. Albans, and Steven Godin and his wife, Sylvia of Cabot; grandchildren, Jeffrey Murray of Shelburne, Jason Murray of Sarasota, Fla., Stacey Godin and her son, Dylan of St. Albans, SPC Ryan Godin attached to the 10th Mountain Division Stationed in Afghanistan, Jessica Godin of Caldwell, N.J., and Gabrielle Godin of Northfield; her sisters and brothers, Julie Paul of Sutton, Que, Margaret Meunier of Actonvale, Que, Lucien Lefebvre of Sutton, Que, George Lefebvre and his wife, Angele of Sutton, Que, Raymond Lefebvre of Drummondville, Que, Jane Lefebvre of Sutton, Que, and Bertha LaBonte of Cowansville, Que; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lorette Larose and her husband, Claude of Franklin, Jane Godbout and her husband, Normand of Spartanburg, S.C., Claire Godbout of Richford, Lucien Godin and his companion, Pam Lesperance of St. Albans, and Raymond Godin and his wife, Aline of Richford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Maurice Lefebvre, Edward Lefebvre and his wife, Edna, and Arthur Lefebvre; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Renee Lefebvre, Aime Paul, Conrad Meunier Yves Godbout, Rejane Godin, Rita Desnoyers and her husband, Norman.
The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude for their mother's care to the physicians and staff of Central Vermont Medical Center in Barre, the staff at Starr Farm Nursing Center in Burlington, Father William Giroux and Sister Marie of St. Mark's Parish in Burlington. To her neighbors on the Golf Course Road, our sincere thanks for all their kindness.

GLADYS HAZEL CONGER MINCKLER
ST. ALBANS - Funeral services for Gladys Minckler, who passed away on Sept. 17, 2006, were held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Kerry Cameron officiating. Guitarist and vocalist was Gail Perras. The ìIrish Blessingî was sung by a trio of Gladys' great granddaughter, Nicole Greene, Alyssa Ede, and Nick Roby, accompanied by Mary Barker Roby. Pastor Cameron delivered the eulogy, and fond words of remembrance were offered by her grandson Jay Nichols.
In attendance were representatives of Franklin County Home Health and Hospice and Missisquoi Valley Rescue.
Casket bearers were: Colin Conger, Ricky Conger, Robert Conger, Allen Conger, Harold Conger, Robert Martell, and Garrett Chapman.
Interment followed in the family lot at Highgate Center Cemetery with Pastor Cameron offering Prayers of Committal. A luncheon followed at the American Hall hosted by family and friends.
Assisting the family with arrangements was the Heald Funeral Home.
LAWRENCE LEONARD 'SPARKY' LAPAN HIGHGATE CENTER - The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at 1 p.m. from St. Louis Roman Catholic Church. Father John J. Meagher, SSE was the celebrant and homilist. John Ferland and Paul Laroche served as Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by soloist, Maurice Gauthier accompanied by organist, Carol Pellerin.
The White Funeral Pall was draped over Lawrence's casket by JoAnn, Louis, Carolyn and Raymond Bushey. The Crucifix was then placed by Matthew Lapan and a red rose by Miranda Bessette. The Old Testament Reading was proclaimed by Danielle Jette and The New Testament Reading by Kelly Bushey. Rita and Gerard L'Esperance presented The Offertory Gifts. Following communion Tammy Fournier and David Juaire both shared Special Words of Remembrance.
Among the many delegations in attendance were representatives from the Highgate and Sheldon Town Offices, Lapan's Concrete, Harrison Concrete, Carroll Concrete, Reginald Rice Construction, S&S Construction, Highgate Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary, local Avon Representatives, Sheldon School District and Missisquoi Valley Rescue.
The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Lapan family lot in St. Louis Cemetery with Father Meagher reading the committal prayers. Lawrence's daughter, Maria Bessette, escorted the funeral procession from the church to the cemetery driving Lawrence's Four Wheel Artic Cat.
The bearers, all grandchildren, were Carrie Lapan, Jason Lapan, Matthew Lapan, Melanie Lapan, Bear Lapan, Michelle Lapan, Melissa Lapan, Shay Bessette, Ryan Billado and Miranda Bessette.
Following The Prayers of Committal, a Bereavement Luncheon was served for family and friends at Lawrence's late home in East Highgate.
