HUNTER JOHN PAUL GAGNON
WEST SHORE ALBURGH - Hunter John Paul Gagnon, age 2, died suddenly early Wednesday morning, March 29, 2006, in his Alburgh home.
He was born Dec. 15, 2003, the son of Sunshine Gagnon, step-son of Travis Hemingway, and the grandson of Donna (Barratt) and Paul Gagnon, all of the West Shore in Alburgh.
Hunter also leaves his sister, Hailey Gagnon of Alburgh; his brother, Harley Jacobson Gagnon of Wells River; maternal great-grandfather, Robert Barratt and his wife, Carol Lee of Clearwater, Fla.; paternal great-grandfather, Norman Gagnon of Berlin, N.H.; aunts and uncle, Sheena Gagnon, Beth LaPan and Louis Patterson, all of Alburgh; his soon to be born brother, Conner; his two little puppies, Allie and Little Guy Gagnon; as well as many aunts, uncles, great aunts, uncles and cousins.
Hunter's family would like to give very special thanks to the following people for all of their love, care and support during the last couple or years. Dr. Bigham, Nancy and Stephen of his office; Dr. Manchester and staff; Kathy Weiss and Kelly Poquette of the Champlain Island Parent Child Center; Ellen Hacker, Abby and Vanessa Smith of the Visiting Nurse Association; Betty Morse and Amy of the St. Albans Family Center; his daycare provider, Deanne Bartemy and, Beth LaPan, his personal care attendant.
Hunter was predeceased by his maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Barratt in 1999.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday evening, April 1, 2006, at 7 p.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Reverend Herman Benjamin pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in St. Albans City will officiate. Interment will take place later in the Barratt family lot in Riverside Cemetery Swanton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 p.m. until the hour of the service.
MARIAN E. PECOR
BURLINGTON - Marian E. Pecor died on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Fletcher Allen Hospital. Born on March 20, 1917, in Montpelier, she was the daughter of Ira Pierce and Nettie (Sanders) Pierce. She married Herbert E. Pecor, who passed away in 1962.
She grew up and raised her family in Montpelier, where she worked at the Imperial Restaurant and Miss Montpelier Diner. Later she was a cook at Goddard College and resided in Plainfield. She lived in the St Albans area for the last several years, most recently a resident at Holiday House.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Pecor of Milton and Todd Pecor of Montpelier; and six daughters: Joan Henry of Texas, Carolyn Ciampi of Florida, Sandy Pecor of Waterbury, Sherry Judkins of South Carolina, Kathy Pecor of Swanton, and Brenda Comstock of Swanton; along with 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Randy Pecor; four sisters; and two brothers.
Friends may call at Guare & Sons Funeral Home in Montpelier on Sunday, April 2, 2006, from 4 to 7 p.m. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 3, at 11 a. m.
ALBINA A. 'BENA' GIBNEY
ST. ALBANS / RICHFORD - Albina A. Bena' Gibney, age 72, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday March 28, 2006 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
She was born Nov. 17, 1933, in Montgomery Center, the daughter of the late Arthur A. and Margaret (Cota) St. Onge.
Bena lived in Massachusetts for several years moving back to Richford in 1972 where she owned and operated Bena's Laundromat for many years. She also worked at Brownway Nursing Home in Enosburg Falls and at The Crossing in Richford. She most recently lived at Four Winds Apartments in St. Albans where she had way too much fun with her very good friends known as The Golden Girls.' She was a member of the Montgomery United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Michael Gibney and his wife, Bonnie of Westfield, Mass., Terry Gibney and his wife, Judy of Richford, McKayla Smith and her husband, Theodore of Agawam, Mass., and Shawn Gibney of Beattyville, Ky.; her grandchildren: Nick Gibney, Ricky & Christopher Tessier, Daniel & Jason Gibney, Megan Gibney Bartlett, Kimberly, Mary, LeeAnn & Lisa Gibney; her great-grandchildren: Gianna Bartlett, Candence, Orion and Gabrielle Gibney; a brother and his wife, Arthur L. and Lorraine St. Onge of Montgomery; four sisters: Lillian Hicks of Johnson, Alice Shover and her husband, Rollin of St. Albans, Beverly Sylvester of Berkshire, and Marylin Abell and her husband, Micky of Enosburg; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Lynwood L. Gibney; and two sisters: Arlene Lariviere and Pauline Baker.
In keeping with Bena's wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Montgomery Village Cemetery.

ROBERT EDWARD JOHNSON
DERBY / ENOSBURGH - Robert Edward Johnson, 67 of Derby, Vt., and formerly of Enosburgh, died peacefully at his home on Boucher Circle in Derby on Tuesday evening, March 28, 2006.
Bob was born on March 23, 1939, in Enosburgh, the son of Gordon and Ida (Clapper) Johnson. He attended schools in Franklin and served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the United States Army where he was wounded in action.
Bob worked in construction in Connecticut for many years where he was employed by Joseph Zapone. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Leadacrantz Club of Thomaston, Conn. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are Bob's companion, Nancy Rayder of Derby; two daughters: Sylvia Johnson of Ashley Falls, Mass. and Stacy Johnson of Bristol, Conn.; two brothers: Gordon Johnson and Richard Johnson, both of Thomaston, Conn.; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; nephews; cousins; his companion's children: Kenneth Rayder of Thomaston, Conn., Cynthia Miller of Winston, Conn., Pamela Rayder of Terryville, Conn. and Tanya Duffy of Thomaston, Conn.; his companion's three grandsons and two granddaughters.
At Bob's request, interment services at the East Highgate Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

LAURENT MARCOUX
ENOSBURG FALLS - The Liturgy of Christian Burial for Laurent Marcoux of Enosburg Falls was celebrated on Wednesday morning at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford. Reverend Frank Eksterowicz, pastor, was the celebrant. Fredda Ploof served as organist.
The readings were offered by Mr. Marcoux's grandchildren, Maria Lovelette and Nicholas Sherrer. Grandchildren, Samantha Sherrer, Jocelyn Marcoux, Joseph Marcoux and Rachel Marcoux, brought the Crucifix and Rosary to the Altar during the Eucharist. Mr. Marcoux's grandson, Shawn Guilmette, served as the urn bearer.
A delegation was present representing Bravo Co., Vermont Army National Guard in Enosburg. A time of fellowship and refreshment followed the Mass at the Richford American Legion
Mr. Marcoux, a resident of School Street in Enosburg, died on Saturday, March 25, in Burlington at the age of 76.
Service arrangements were under the care of the Spears Funeral Home.
DAVID P. DAVIS
ST. ALBANS CITY / TABORS POINT, WEST SWANTON - David P. Davis, 29, a longtime resident of Swanton and most recently of Lower Welden Street in St. Albans City, died tragically in a automobile accident late Saturday afternoon in the Town of Swanton.
Born in Springfield, Mass. on March 2, 1977, to the late Everett Perley Davis and Lonna (Nimmo) Davis who survives him. He graduated from Missisquoi Valley Union High School where he excelled in Varsity Baseball and Basketball. He also attended the Community College of Vermont.
For the past several years, and until the time of his death, David was associated with Ben & Jerry's and previously with Barry Callebaut USA, Inc. both of St. Albans. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed golf, basketball, baseball, football and many others including playing uncle to his niece and nephews, all of which he excelled. He played in the Enosburg and St. Albans City Hall Basketball Leagues as well as the St. Albans Steelers Football Team.
Along with his mother, Lonna Davis of St. Albans City, David leaves behind four sisters: Lisa Davis of Monson, Mass., Denise Gilman of Gilbertville, Mass., Kelly Davis of St. Albans City and Amy Davis of Northampton, Mass.; one aunt and two uncles: Allan Davis of Enfield, Conn. and John and Deb Arooth of Monson, Mass.; five nephews, one niece; two special cousins: John Arooth Jr. of Westfield, Mass. and Jill Arooth of Monson, Mass.; as well as many many close friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 31, 2006, at 6 p.m. from the Memorial United Methodist Church, 23 Grand Ave., Swanton. Relatives and friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Thursday evening, March 30, 2006, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Gifts in David's memory may be made to MVU Middle School Golf Program, in care of Mrs. Paulette Tatro, 100 Thunder Bird Drive, Swanton 05488.
MARILYN A. PIERCE
Largely attended funeral services for Marilyn A. Pierce, who passed away on March 24, 2006, were held on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Georgia Plain Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Kuthe officiating. Music was provided by organist, Alexis Bell and the Georgia Plain Baptist Church Choir. Words of remembrance were shared by Marilyn's daughter, Deborah and several others in attendance offered memories of their times with Marilyn.
In attendance was representation from the Georgia Volunteer Fire Department and First Response, R. L. Vallee Inc., Ultramar, Bay State Truck & Trailer, Exxon Mobil, Business Interiors, Fleet Pride, Child Travel Services, Carlson Travel, the Georgia Plain and Hope Cemetery Associations, St. Albans City Fire Department and Water Department and the Georgia Plain Baptist Church family.
Casket bearers were Brian Bechard, Colin Conger, Chad Conger, Keith Cooke, Gregg Parah and Rene Pelissier.
Following prayers of committal by Pastor Kuthe, interment was in the Pierce family lot at the Georgia Plain Cemetery.
Assisting Marilyn's family was the Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans.
EUNICE MARY PATNODE
HIGHGATE - Funeral Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home. Father John J. Meagher, SSE, pastor of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Swanton and St. Louis Roman Catholic Parish, Highgate Center officiated.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from Franklin County Home Health Agency, Bockus Electric and Nativity and St. Louis Parish Communities.
Interment followed in the Patnode family lot in St. Louis Cemetery with Father Meagher reading the committal prayers.
The bearers were David Shover, Douglas Austin, Raymond Benson and Robert Cota.
GEORGE S. BESSETTE
SWANTON / ST. ALBANS l A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mr. George S. Bessette on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Father Maurice Roy was the celebrant. Sister Cecile LeBeau read the Holy Scripture Lessons. Altar Servers were Normand Blouin and George Swann. Mary Jo Gillilan was the organist and soloist. Granddaughter, Amanda Hoague, shared fond memories with the congregation present.
A guard of honor was present from the American Legion, Green Mountain Post 1. Also present were representatives of Missisquoi Valley Rescue.
Bearers were his sons, George, Steven, Randy, Todd, Eric, Scott and Meddie Bessette; and son-in-law, Lynford Hoague.
Following Prayers of Committal by Father Roy interment was in the Bessette family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Monday evening, Father Roy held a Christian Wake Service with George's family and friends in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.
DOROTHY LOUISE LeBEAU
HIGHGATE CENTER - The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, March 27, 2006, at 11 a.m. from St. Louis Roman Catholic Church. Father John J. Meagher, SSE was the celebrant and homilist. John Ferland and Paul Laroche served as Ministers of the Altar as well as Eucharistic Ministers. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan.
The White Funeral Pall was draped over Mrs. LeBeau's casket by her son, Larry LeBeau and his wife, Debbie. The crucifix was then placed by granddaughter, Traci LeBeau. Mrs. Helen Stimets proclaimed readings from both the Old and New Testament. The Offertory Gifts were presented by granddaughter, Traci LeBeau and longtime family friend, Jackie Rabon. Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from Haven Health Center, Mary S. Babcock and Swanton Central Schools, Northwestern Medical Center, Franklin County Home Health Agency and St. Louis and Nativity Parish Communities.
Interment followed in the LeBeau family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Albans City with Father Meagher reading the committal prayers.
The bearers were nephews: Clifton Bushey Jr., Roger Bushey, Raymond Bushey, John Thibault and Kevin Price; and family friends: Matt Roddy and Joe Roddy.
Following The Prayers of Committal a Bereavement Luncheon was served for family and friends at the My-T-Fine II Restaurant in Highgate Springs hosted by Mrs. Nancy Paquette and staff.
LILA M. YOUNG
ENOSBURG FALLS - Lila M. Young, age 96, passed away Sunday evening, March 26, 2006, at the Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Albans.
She was born May 22, 1909, in East Enosburg, the daughter of the late George and Josephine (Pronto) Jacobs.
She was a resident of Enosburg Falls since 1973 and was a former resident of Berkshire. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Anne Society. Lila spent countless hours writing poems having several published in the County Courier and while staying at Franklin County Rehab she had a book of her poems published. Besides her writing she enjoyed reading western novels, embroidery, canning vegetables. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Ramsdell and Barbara Bosley, both of Richford; one son, Charles Young and his wife, Raquel of Lorton, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Young of Morrisville; a sister-in-law, Jessie Jacobs of Richford; two granddaughters-in-law, Jeannette Bosley of Berkshire and Joy Bosley of Montgomery; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Floyd G. Young on April 15, 1971; a son, John Young; two grandsons, Stuart and Stephen Bosley; four brothers: George, Alonzo, Leon and Charles Jacobs; and two sisters, Julia Gombkoto and Lona Spaulding.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Reverend Benedict Kiely celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Berkshire Center Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
