LEONARD C. POQUETTE
ST. ALBANS — Leonard C. Poquette, 35, died unexpectedly Jan. 28, 2006, in Arkansas. He was born in St. Albans on Sept. 25, 1970, the son of Leonard and Karen Jerry of Franklin.
Leonard is survived by four children: Leonard Poquette, Anthony Poquette, Michael Poquette and Jennifer Poquette. He is also survived by one brother, Abner F. Jerry of St. Albans; two sisters, Michelle Murray of Franklin and Melissa Hill of St. Albans; a grandmother, Janet P. Poquette of St. Albans; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.
Leonard loved weight lifting, camping, pool and watching racing.
Funeral services were held in Little Rock, Ark. for Leonard over the weekend. Leonard will be missed by many people, especially his boss and co-workers in Arkansas.
Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in St. Albans at a later date by his family.
EDNA FLEURY BRADLEY
ISLE LA MOTTE - Edna Fleury Bradley, 66, a lifelong resident of the Isle La Motte community, died late Sunday morning, Feb. 5, 2006, at the Starr Farm Nursing Center in Burlington.
Born at home in Isle La Motte on Nov. 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Jefferson and Helen Mary (Deo) Fleury. She attended Isle La Motte schools and in 1970 was married to Patrick W. Bradley, Jr. who survives her.
In addition to her role as a full time mother and foster parent, Edna provided private duty health care for many homebound individuals throughout the Lake Champlain Island Communities and for nine years also caring for her brother Jack Fleury who had suffered from a debilitating stroke. She will also be remembered for the great love she had for her cat “Dotty, ” for taking “Vermont Baths” and playing dominos with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Mission.
Besides her husband Patrick of 35 years, Edna leaves three daughters: Debbie Potvin and her children, Ashley and Emily of North Ft. Myers, Fla., Lesa Little, her fiancé Corey Lockerby and Lesa’s children, Amanda, Anna and Ashley of Alburgh, and Robin Bellevue and her husband, Herbert and their children, Laura, Grace, Robert and Adam of Enosburgh; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Mea and Keely; a brother, Allen Fleury and his wife, Patricia of Dayton, Ohio; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
She was predeceased by three sisters: Mary Kesek, Jane Ashline and Helen Stakes; and two brothers: Jack and George Fleury.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at 1 p.m. from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Mission, Main Street, Isle La Motte. Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will follow in the Fleury family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Joseph’s Mission on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.
Gifts in Edna’s memory may be made to the Alburg Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue, One Firehouse Road, Alburgh 05440.

JOSIE G. QUINTIN
ST. ALBANS - Mrs. Josie G. Quintin, 99, a lifelong area resident, passed away at her home on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, following a brief illness. She was born in Swanton, Vt. on Sept. 3, 1906, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Zabaska) Wilson. She was married to Nelson V. Quintin, who predeceased her on May 5, 1966.
Josie retired from the New England Telephone Company in 1971 after 35 years of service. She was a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers, Franklin County Senior Center and Club Respite.
Survivors include her two daughters, June Quintin of Essex Junction, Vt. and Barbara Quintin of Warwick, R.I.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Nelson, she was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Royal Wilson; and a sister, Nellie Quintin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in the family lot at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.
MILDRED JESSIE ATWOOD
SWANTON - The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father John J. Meagher, SSE was the celebrant and homilist. Edward Daniel and Joseph Gamache served and Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Claire Chevalier Hungerford.
Members of the Nativity Parish Altar Society formed a guard of honor. The White Funeral Pall was draped over Mildred’s casket by her nieces, Harriet Wheeler, Arthurlene Provencher and Jacquilene Hancock. Arthurlene also placed the Crucifix. The Old Testament Reading was proclaimed by nephew, Richard Wheeler and The New Testament Reading by nephew, Ronald Provencher. The Offertory Gifts were presented by cousin, Dorothy Smart; nieces, Harriet Wheeler, Arthurlene Provencher, Jacquilene Hancock and great niece Cheri Saunders.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Hi-Swans Senior Citizens, Platt Street and Village Green Senior Housing Our Lady of the Meadows and Ave Maria Residential Care Homes. Interment followed in the Atwood family lot in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery with Father Meagher reading the committal prayers.
The bearers, all members of the Knights of Columbus, St. Edmund of Canterbury Council 7669, were: David Blondo, Paul Delabruere, Nelson LaChapple, Cleo Yandow, Francis L’Esperance and Arthur Goodhue.
ROBERT A. FROHOCK, JR.
MILTON - Robert A. Frohock Jr., 87, died peacefully on Thursday evening, Feb. 3, 2006, at Copley Manor in Morrisville, with his loving family by his side. Bob was born in Alton, N.H. on Dec. 4, 1918, the son of Robert A. and Etta (Burle) Frohock .
During World War II, Bob served in the U.S. Army, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon discharge, he joined the National Guard, where he served as a Master Sergeant.
Mr. Frohock moved to Vermont from Massachusetts while working for a home improvement company. In July of 1949 he married Grace Devino.
He worked for Rock of Ages for five years and later he and Grace bought a restaurant in Orleans. They moved to Milton in 1959, where they owned Grace and Bob’s Restaurant. He and Grace spent much of their summer time at their cottage in Nova Scotia. Bob was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and of the Masons in Orleans. He also enjoyed being a member of the Shriners’. Bob was predeceased by Grace in 1987.
He is survived by his children: Elizabeth Duranleau and her husband, Carrol of Washington, Vt., Avis Bluto of Florida, Roberta Frohock and her husband, Todd Buik of Milton, Sue Frohock and James Deforge of Colchester, and Robert A. Frohock III and his wife, Lori of Underhill; by his daughter-in-law, Ruth Demag of Pennsylvania; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Earl Demag; his brothers: Clifford Morine, George Wallace; his sisters: Blanche Ayers, Hazel Hurd, Beatrice Turgon and Ethel Frohock.
A Funeral Service was to be held today, Feb. 6, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the United Church of Milton. Burial will be in the Milton Village Cemetery in the spring.
Contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to the Memorial Program of Mt. Sinai Temple No. 3, For the Benefit of Shriners’ Hospitals for Crippled Children and Shriners’ Burn Institutes, Box 742, Montpelier, Vermont 05601-0742.

ROBERT ALTON GONYEAU
GEORGIA - Robert Alton Gonyeau, 76, a longtime area resident, passed away on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, following a brief illness. He was born in Burlington on June 6, 1929, the son of the late Frank and Gladious (Iby) Gonyeau. On July 5, 1956, in Burlington, he was married to the former Henriette Bettingen, who survives him.
Robert was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era and retiring in 1971, after 21 years of service. Following this retirement, he was employed as a security officer at the University of Vermont, retiring in 1984. He was a deacon for many years at the Georgia Plain Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, Henriette of Georgia, he is survived by a son, Robert O. Gonyeau and his wife, Denise of Underhill; three daughters and their husbands, Gladious and Dale Martin of Georgia, Virginia and Roger Gutkopf of Georgia, and Doris and Mike Sterling of Grand Isle; a sister, Carrie Matthews of Georgia; nine grandchildren: Sara, Robert, Jonathan, Jessica, Steven, Danielle, April, Aaron, and Mariah; two great-grandchildren, Audree and Caely; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Winston Gonyeau; and a sister, Alice Haskins.
A funeral service will held on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Georgia Plain Baptist Church. Pastor Charles Kuthe will officiate. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

MILDRED JESSIE ATWOOD
SWANTON - Mildred Jessie Atwood, 82, a lifelong Swanton resident, died early Friday evening, Feb. 3, 2006, at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford.
Born in Swanton, Nov. 9, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James and Jessie (Lambert) Atwood. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two brothers, Harry H. Atwood of Groton, Conn. and Edwin A. Atwood of Swanton, Vt.
Mildred lived on Foundry Street in Swanton Village for approximately 65 years. She attended the former St. Anne’s Academy in Swanton and was a devoted communicant of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a former member of the parish Altar Society. Over the years from childhood on she remained good friends with her cousin, Dorothy Smart also of Swanton.
Mildred enjoyed bowling, going to the movies and Sunday afternoon rides throughout northern Vermont. She worked many years as a housekeeper and nanny for a local family. In September of 2003 she became a resident of Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford, Vt.
Besides her cousin Dorothy Smart, she is survived by a sister-in-law, Lillian Atwood of Groton, Conn.; three nieces, Harriet Wheeler and her husband, Richard of Ledyard, Conn., Arthurlene Provencher and her husband, Ronald of Gales Ferry, Conn. and Jacquilene Hancock of Groton, Conn.; along with several great and great great nieces and nephews and two great great great nieces, all of Connecticut.

DIANA L. LAGROW
FRANKLIN - Diana L. Lagrow, age 59, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with her loving family at her side.
She was born Oct. 10, 1946, in Enosburgh, Vt., the daughter of Velma (LaFrance) Billado and the late Robert Billado.
Diana was a resident of Franklin most of her life. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 778 in Swanton. Her hobbies and interests included Bingo, gambling, trips to Atlantic City and collecting bells and angels. She also loved her cats but most of all she cherished and loved her family.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold Lagrow; two sons, Frank Lagrow, his wife, Anne and their children, Thomas, Brandan and Adrianna; John Lagrow, his sons, Ryan and Cody, all of Franklin; and her daughter, Missy Levick, her husband Charles Jr., and their daughter Marah of Highgate Springs; her mother, Velma Billado of Richford; three brothers, Robert Billado Jr. and his wife, Theresa of Middlesex, Jeffrey Billado of Enosburg Falls, and Ricky Billado of Richford; seven sisters: Carolyn Cooper and her husband, John of Enosburg Falls, Connie Barton and her husband, William of Goldsboro, N.C., Susan Rice of Marietta, Ga., Ruth Cooper and her husband, Frederick of Franklin, Joyce Billado of Enosburg Falls, Doreen Corey and her husband, Ernest of Franklin, and Tammy Gendron and her husband, James of Richford; her mother-in-law, Florence Nolan of Enosburg; sisters-in-law: Frances Green of Enosburg and Amelia Nolan of Sheldon; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Billado on July 5, 2004; and a nephew, John Cooper, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, Feb. 7, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the East Franklin Union Church with Pastor Jason McConnell officiating. Interment will take place next spring in the East Franklin Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held today (Monday) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

TANNIS LEIGH AUSTIN
SWANTON / ALBURG CENTER - A Celebration of the Life of Tannis Leigh Austin, age 7, was held Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the Swanton Memorial United Methodist Church. The Reverend Marcheta Townsend, pastor of the Isle La Motte United Methodist Church officiated. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan.
Special Words of Remembrance were shared by Tannis’ Dad, James Austin, as well as Doctor Joseph Nasca, Trish Gilman, Pamela McCarthy, Rodney St. Dennis, Anna Gagne and Lisa Hayden.
Among the large delegations in attendance were representatives from the Vermont Air National Guard, Vermont Senate and House of Representatives, Associates in Dental Care, Visiting Nurse Association, Franklin County Home Health Agency, Northwestern Medical Center, Fletcher Allen Health Care, Vermont Interagency Coordinating Council & The Child Development Division, Family Infant and Toddler Program, T.D. Banknorth, Kinney Drugs, Dunkin Doughnuts, St. Amadeus Parish, H.G. Berger & Son, Chevalier Drilling, VPIC, GTM Electric, Order of the Eastern Star Columbia Chapter 76 and Columbus Lodge 11 F.&A.M.
A private interment followed for immediate family in the Austin family lot in the Alburgh Center Cemetery with The Reverend Mrs. Townsend reading the committal prayers.
The bearers were Doctor Adam DeSanctis and Uncles, Kevin, Jeff and Terry Austin.
Following the services a bereavement luncheon was served at the Moose Lodge 1090 in St. Albans City hosted by the members.
PAULETTE R. CHURCH
ST. ALBANS - A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mrs. Paulette R. Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church. Father Leonidas Laroche was the celebrant, assisted by Deacon Jack Rixon. Robert LeClair and John Manahan were servers of the altar. Mary Jo Gillilan was the organist and soloist.
The Holy Gospel was proclaimed by Deacon Rixon. Holy Scripture Lessons were read by granddaughter Danielle Gleason. The Offertory Gifts were presented by granddaughters Kellie Goodson and Jessica Rogers. Kellie and Jessica also shared fond memories of life with their grandmother, with those present.
A guard of honor was present from the Auxiliary Unit 758 of Robert E. Glidden Veterans of Foreign Wars. Representatives attended from The Dock’s Restaurant, International Business Machines, Northwestern Medical Center, Haven Health Care Center, Warner’s Snack Bar and Clothing Shop, Biggie Advertising, Brooks Pharmacy, Truman E. Bryer Insurance Agency, Lamos Construction Company, Shear Magic Beauty Salon, St. Albans City Water Department, former employees of Fonda Container Corp. and Central Vermont Veterans Association.
Bearers were her sons-in-law, Timothy Gleason Sr., Keith Goodson and Gregory Raymond; grandsons, Timothy Gleason Jr., Jonathan Olmstead and Colin Goodson.
Following Prayers of Committal by Father Laroche, interment was in the Church family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family shared a luncheon in St. Mary’s Parish Center, hosted by St. Mary’s Bereavement Committee.
Friday evening, Father Laroche held a Christian Wake Service with Paulette’s family and friends in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.
