TAMMY LYNN (QUEBEC) GEMMELL
WAYS MILLS, PQ / SWANTON, Vt. - With a brave heart, after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer at the CHU Fleurimont Hospital Sherbrooke, Tammy Lynn (Quebec) Gemmell died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at the age of 39.
Beloved wife of Murray; cherished mother of Jessica Lynn (age 14). Tammy will also be sadly missed by her parents, James and Eva Quebec of Swanton; brother, Christopher of Florida; father-in-law, Ashley; brother-in-law, Robert; nieces, Shannon and Samantha; nephews, Christopher and Jeffrey; other relatives and many friends.
Calling hours were at Cass Funeral Home in Ayer’s Cliff, PQ. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated with Father Maurice Dominque officiating, followed by interment in Ways Mills Cemetery.
Tammy was a true lover of her community. She was dearly loved by the children there. Tammy created numerous events and activities at the local parish hall. These events started with a handful of children and rapidly grew to several hundred. These events are now named in her honor, as she was endearingly known by both children and parents as the “great wizard of fun.”
Tammy was a musician in her own right as well as a vocalist. Her beautiful voice was enjoyed by everyone. Tammy’s first love was her family, her music and animals. She loved life and shared her positive nature with all.
Her service included four eulogies by her closest friends. It also included both instrumental and vocal soloists. Her daughter Jessica sang a special tribute to her mother, whom she dearly loves.
On Tuesday morning, Oct. 25, she was carried to heaven in the arms of an angel. A memorial mass will be held in her honor at Church of the Nativity in Swanton on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m.
