HENRY P. PAQUETTE
RICHFORD - Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 1, at All Saints Catholic Church with Revs. Frank Eksterowicz and Leonidas Laroche con-celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Altar server was Paul Choquette, organist was Fredda Ploof.
Communion gifts were presented by Mr. Paquette’s granddaughters: Karen Jacobs, Joanne Garrow, Tammy and Ann Marie Paquette. Words of remembrance written by Mr. Paquette’s son Lawrence, were read by his grandson-in-law, Kenny Martin.
Bearers were his grandson’s, John Jacobs, Dennis, Ronnie, Jeremy and Nathan Paquette, and Travis Turcotte.
Following committal prayers at All Saints Cemetery in Richford the family attended a luncheon at the parish hall prepared by the ladies of the church.
Spears Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
LORETTA L. FECTEAU
RICHFORD - Loretta L. Fecteau, age 70, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, Sept. 30, 2005, at the home of her son in Richford with her family at her side.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Fecteau of Richford; her children: Dale Fecteau and his wife, Christina of Richford, Charlie Fecteau and his wife, Wanda of Enosburg Falls, Robin Gagne of Shelburne, and Greg Fecteau and his wife, Patty of Shelburne; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; her brother, Lyle Rushlow and his wife of Milton; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Loretta’s wishes there will be no funeral services or visiting hours. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in All Saints Cemetery in Richford.
For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of ones choice or to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 12 of Richford, 35 River St., Richford, Vt. 05476.

DORIS L. BOARDMAN
VENICE, Fla. - Doris L. Boardman, 79 of Venice, Fla., passed away on Sept. 28, 2005. She was born in St. Albans, Vt. on Jan. 14, 1926, was a homemaker and moved to Venice, Fla. in 1980.
She is survived by her two daughters: Donna Roberge of Manchester, N.H. and Debra Kimes of St. Albans, Vt.; two sons: Winfield III of St. Albans, Vt. and Davis of Alburg, Vt.; two sisters: Thelma Gingras of Venice, Fla. and Barbara Chagnon of Richford, Vt.; one brother, Stanley Longway; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at a later date and privately for the family. Inurnment will take place in Burlington, Vt.

STEVEN WARD THOMAS
ST. JOHNSBURY / ST. ALBANS - Steven Ward Thomas, 61, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in St. Johnsbury on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005. He was born in St. Albans, Vt. on April 25, 1944, the son of the late Elwood C. and Edith (Barney) Thomas.
Steve graduated from Bellows Free Academy in 1962 and also was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve. Following graduation he entered the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to St. Albans where he was involved in many ventures. He was employed for several years as a mechanic with Roy Waine's Gulf Station and Homer W. Hungerford Ford Garage, was a former police officer with the St. Albans City Police Department and for several years operated his own carpentry business. He also worked at the Windjammer, Burlington in the Maintenance Department. Steve enjoyed drawing, woodcarving and glass etching and also did photography for weddings. He was a member of the Abenaki Nation.
Survivors include his brother, Jerry Michael Thomas and his wife, Queta of Bolton; his sister, Sandra Dukas and husband, Stanley of St. Albans; three nieces: Kim Thomas, Sharee Farnsworth and Stephanie Brannon; four nephews: John Thomas, Tom Dukas, Gary Dukas and Jerry Dukas; several great nieces and nephews; his aunts and uncles, Jerry and Rae Barney of Swanton and Pete and Phyliss Robistow of Colchester; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Elwood and Edith.
Steve's family would like to express their gratitude to his special friends in the Depot Apartment Complex in St. Johnsbury.
A graveside service to be held at the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery on South Main Street will be announced next spring. There will be no visiting hours.

KERMIT B. BERGERON, SR.
ST. ALBANS - Mr. Kermit B. Bergeron Sr., age 78, died Monday evening, Nov. 28, 2005, in the Northwestern Medical Center. He was born in Sheldon, Feb. 16, 1927, son of the late Frederick and Ethel (Niles) Bergeron. He was employed in delivery for the Champlain Valley Fruit Co., and in maintenance at the University of Vermont and Weldon Theater. He married Marion Dennis who died Sept. 23, 1985.
Kermit is survived by seven children and their spouses: Hilda Couture of Mass., Alexander Couture and his friend Fannie Miller of St. Albans, Betty and Joe Gauthier of Texas, Sally Shoram of Northampton, Mass., Mary Lubina of St. Albans, Roy and Debra Bergeron of Swanton, Kermit Jr., and Corrine Bergeron of St. Albans; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ray Niles and his wife, Claudia of Hyde Park; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife he was predeceased by his sister, Irene Billodeau; and brothers Wendall, Fred and Merriman (Mickey).
A funeral service will be held Thursday evening at 8:30 in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home, 86 South Main St. from 7 p.m. until the hour of the services. Interment will be at the convenience of his family in the Bergeron family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

GERALD F. SMART
SWANTON, Vt. / NEWPORT, N.H. - The Liturgy of Christian Burial was concelebrated Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE was the principle celebrant and homilist. Concelebrating was Father John J. Meagher, SSE pastor of Nativity Parish, Swanton and St. Louis Roman Catholic Parish Highgate Center. Assisting as Deacon was The Reverend Mr. Alan Vincelette. Edward Daniel and Joseph Gamache served as Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan.
Members of the American Legion, Green Mountain Post 1 of St. Albans formed a large guard of honor. The White Funeral Pall was draped over Gerald’s casket by cousins, Dorothy Smart and Gloria Fournier. The crucifix was then placed by Gerald’s wife Phyllis Smart, Readings from both The Old and New Testament were proclaimed by Deacon Vincelette. Cousin Dorothy Smart and family friend Lena Gadouas presented The Offertory Gifts.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Grandma’s and Grandpa’s Choral Group, Visiting Nurse Association, Swanton Village Fire Department Auxiliary and the Nativity Parish Community.
Interment followed on Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. from the family lot in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Newport, N.H. with The Reverend Mr. Paul Boucher reading the committal prayers. Full Military Honors were accorded the deceased by members of the American Legion, Post 25, Newport, N.H. The American flag, which draped the United States Army and World War II veteran’s casket, was folded by Larry Zullo and presented to Mrs. Phyllis Smart by Peter Lovely. Members of the Firing Party were Larry Zullo, Peter Lovely, Pat Bartlett, Andy Andrews, Wilfred Gonyo, Lucien Gentes, Bill Rodeschin, Arnold Greenleaf and Cliff Alexandrov. Bugler Lucien Gentes sounded Taps.
The Bearers were Michael Fournier, Warren Fournier, Bernard LaRocque, David Blondo, Jacques Beaulieu and Joseph Gamache.
REJEAN GASTON LUSSIER
ST. ALBANS TOWN - The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at 11 a.m. from Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church. Father Maurice J. Roy was the celebrant and homilist. Assisting as Deacon was The Reverend Mr. Duane Langlois. Normand Blouin and Robert Brodeur served as Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan.
The White Funeral Pall was draped over Rejean’s casket by Gary Centabar and Francis L’Esperance. The Crucifix was then placed by Rejean’s wife Bonnie Toof Lussier. The Old Testament was proclaimed by brother-in-law, Michael Duprat and the second reading from The New Testament by family friend Gail Gamache. Sisters-in-law, Jackie Duprat and Laurie Martin presented The Offertory Gifts. Following communion Special Words of Remembrance were shared by daughter, Marcy Lussier and nephew, Christopher Lussier.

Following The Prayers of Committal a Bereavement Luncheon was served for family and friends in the Holy Angels Parish Center hosted by Mrs. Rosalie Jacques and the Ladies of St. Anne.
LILA M. JONES
SHELDON - Mrs. Lila M. Jones, 87, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at her home on the Severance Road. She was born in Enosburg Falls, Vt. on Sept. 12, 1918, the daughter of the late Carl and Stella Evelyn (Chapman) Chamberlain. On Nov. 21, 1943, she married Clelan A. Jones, who predeceased her on July 16, 1989.
Lila, a Vermont native, lived in Derry, N.H. from 1979 to 1991, when she then moved to Sheldon. She was an avid horse person who enjoyed sulky racing at Rockingham Park in Salem, N.H., Foxboro, Mass., Ohio and New York. She retired from racing in 1972.
Survivors include a brother, George O. Stebbins Jr. and his wife, Thelma of Sheldon; a sister, Janet Lumbra and her husband, Reuben of Milo, Maine; a sister-in-law, Margaret Irish of St. Albans; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lila was predeceased by Stella's second husband, George O. Stebbins Sr.; and a sister, Ryllis Severance.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the family lot in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery.

MARY A. HEBERT
ST. ALBANS - Mrs. Mary A. Hebert, age 88, died on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 2005, in the Franklin County Rehab Center. She was born in St. Albans, Dec. 28, 1916, daughter of the late Charles and Concetta (Guidi) Rinaldi. She was a lifelong communicant of Holy Angels Church and enjoyed sewing and knitting for her family and friends.
Oct. 14, 1940, she married George “Min” Hebert. They were married for over 61 years when George died on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2001.
Mrs. Hebert is survived by her two sons, Dr. David P. and his wife Diane Hebert of Torrington, Conn., and Richard C. Hebert and his fiance, Terri Cadieux of Highgate; four grandchildren: Hunter GeorgEmi1e Hebert of Highgate, Kara and her husband, Dennis Shorey of St. Albans, Melissa and Elizabeth Hebert, both of Torrington, Conn.; a great-granddaughter, Kayliegh Shorey of St. Albans; a sister-in-law, Georgette Rinaldi of St. Albans; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, George, and her parents Charles and Concetta, Mary was predeceased by her granddaughter Amy Lynn Hebert in 1980; and by all her siblings, Gemma Zirkle, Rena Teach, Eva Gonyeau and William Rinaldi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, in Holy Angels Church. There will be no calling hours.

AGNES ‘TINA’ NEVEAU
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. / ENOSBURGH, Vt. - Agnes “Tina” Neveau, 83, passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 26, 2005, at the Winter Haven Hospital.
She was born in Enosburgh, Vt. on June 17, 1922, the daughter of the late Roy and Helen (Wright) Maynard. She was raised in Enosburgh and was a 1940 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. Tina then received teaching degrees from Johnson State College in 1942, and Goddard College in 1970. Her teaching career spanned 35 years beginning in Enosburgh where she taught until 1959, and ending at Berlin Elementary School, where she retired in 1978,
Tina married Everett M. Neveau in 1944. Tina and Everett made their home in Montpelier from 1959 until the time of his death in 1992. Tina then moved to Winter Haven, Fla. in 1996.
She was a member of the Vermont & National Retired Teachers Associations, and the Bethany Church in Montpelier.
She is survived by two sons, William and his wife, Terry Neveau of Grayson, Ga., and Alan and his wife, Carmen Neveau of Barre; and one daughter, Susan and her husband, David Carbo of Winter Haven, Fla. Tina is also survived by five grandchildren: Deborah Orsini of Albany, N.Y., Russell Neveau of Dacula, Ga., Aimee Pope of Barre, Vt., Edward Simmons of Middleburg, N.Y. and Joanne Blount of Winter Haven, Fla. Tina is also survived by four great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, and a sister, Dorothy Terhune.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburgh, Vt. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday, Dec. 3, from 1 p.m. until the hour of the funeral.

FLORENCE GADOUAS
SWANTON / ST. ALBANS - Mrs. Florence Underwood Gadouas died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, a week before her 85th birthday, in the Northwestern Medical Center. She was born in St. Albans, Dec. 3, 1920, daughter of the late Edward and Winifred (LaGrange) Underwood. She married Israel Goodroe in 1939 and in 1977 married Hermas Gadouas. She was employed at Union Carbide Consumer Products for 28 years.
Florence was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Albans. She was very active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, having been a Vermont State President and held many chairs at the Robert E. Glidden Auxiliary Unit 758. She was a charter member of the Franklin County Senior Center, a member of the American Legion, Green Mountain Auxiliary Unit 1 and the Women of the Moose, Chapter 321. She was a past Madam President and member of the Grand Auxiliary of the Grand Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles. Florence was an avid bingo player and enjoyed visiting casinos.
Florence is survived by her sons, Ken Goodroe and his wife, Fran of Swanton, Charles Goodroe and his wife, Bette of Fresno, Calif.; daughter, Donna and her husband, Gary Shepard of Leesburg, Fla.; five grandchildren: Sherri LaP1ant, Lynn Goodroe, Jill Goodroe, Colleen Shepard, Laurie and her husband, Juan-Carlos Merino Martin; four great-grandchildren: Kristine and husband, John Cook, Joshua LaPlant, Ana and Alex Merino Shepard; two great-great twin granddaughters, Kathryn and Kyla Cook; three sisters-in-law: Doris Underwood, Charlene Underwood and Winona Underwood; brother-in-law, George Miner; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents; her husbands, Israel and Hermas; she was predeceased by all her siblings: Edith Miner, Anna Griffin, Ruth Bessette, Helen King, Chester, Raymond, Richard, Edward, Carroll, Philip, Gordus and Ralph Underwood. Florence*’s family wishes to extend their most sincere gratitude to Patricia Guilmette.
