NANCIE L. KRAGEL
LAKE HAVASU, Ariz. / SWANTON, Vt. - Mrs. Nancie L. Kragel, age 48, died at her home in Lake Havasu, Ariz. after a lengthy illness, with her loving husband Todd by her side. She was born in St. Albans, Aug. 30, 1955, daughter of Homer and Florence (Cross) Fiske. She graduated from Bellows Free Academy. Before moving to Arizona, she was a nurse’s assistant at The Holiday House Extended Care Facility. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Todd; her mother, Florence Fiske of Bakersfield; three sisters and their husbands: Polly Bushey and her husband Leon of Enosburg Falls, Carolyn Bushey and her husband Harvey of Franklin, Teresa Smith and her husband Brian of Bakersfield; her two brothers: Reggie Fiske and his wife Paule of Swanton, and Michael Fiske and his wife Sandra of Sheldon. Nancy was pre-deceased by her son, Kevin Fortin in 1996; her father, Homer Fiske in 2005; and her sister, Sandra Fiske in 1961.
A graveside funeral service will be held in Bradley Cemetery in Fairfield, on Saturday, May 21, 2005, at 2 p.m. Pastor Bruce Patterson will officiate. Friends may visit with her family from 1 p.m. until the service time, at the gravesite. Interment will follow in the Fiske family lot in Bradley Cemetery.

HAROLD J. “BUD“ PARSONS
FAIRFAX - Harold J. “Bud” Parsons, 72, of Boissoneault Road, died Tuesday morning, May 17, 2005, in the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans following a brave and valiant fight with complications arising from a brain aneurysm. Bud was born Sept. 15, 1932, in Colchester, the son of Howard C. and Freda Irish Parsons.
He was a graduate of Bellows Free Academy in Fairfax and served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Bud had multiple occupations as a member of the operating engineers union. He also owned and operated Daddy's Fix It shop in Fairfax where he repaired automobiles. He was a bold and brave individual who was never afraid to speak his mind. He was very helpful to those in AA and had remained sober for 21 years.
He was married to Judy LaRochelle on Nov. 28, 1996, in Fairfax.
Bud is survived by his wife, Judy of Fairfax; and his children: Matthew Parsons and his wife Sonya of St. Albans, Kim Barrientez and her husband Ruben of Huntsville, Texas, and Wendy Whisenhunt and her husband Bret of Prescott, Ariz.; his grandchildren: Kimberley, David, Jason, Christopher, Amber and Courtney; as well as his sister-in-law, Carry Parsons of Fairfax. He also leaves his niece, Susan Parsons; and nephews: Tex, Charlie and David Parsons. He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Larry Parsons.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, at 2 p.m. in the Cornerstone Community Church on Bombardier Road in Milton with Pastor Kim Ransom officiating. Burial will follow in the Sanderson Corners Cemetery in Fairfax.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Covered Bridge Therapeutic Communities Inc. (a Christian drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility for prisoners reentering the community), P.O. Box 569, St. Johnsbury, Vt. 05819.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, May 20, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

Prayers of Committal and interment for Edward J. Pearo, who passed away on Feb. 12, 2005, will be held on Monday, May 23, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the St. Albans Bay Cemetery with the Reverend Herman Benjamin, Pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church officiating.

MONTGOMERY - Arthur Fellman, age 63, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2005, at his home after long battle with cancer.

DORIS M. “DOTTIE” WETHERBY
ENOSBURG FALLS - Doris M. “Dottie” Wetherby, age 78, passed away Sunday evening, May 15, 2005, at Haven Health Center in St. Albans following a long illness.
She was born April 29, 1927, in Springfield, Vt., the daughter of the late Arnold and Beatrice (St. Clair) Stevens.
Dottie married Carmi “Jake” Wetherby on Oct. 16, 1944, at which time they made their home in Brattleboro. They also lived in Richford for several years moving to Enosburg Falls in 1970 where she worked as a private duty nurse and was a member of the Enosburgh Ambulance Service until 1989 when they moved back to Brattleboro where she worked for the Brattleboro Home Health Agency until her poor health caused her to retire. In November of 2003 Dottie and Jake moved back to St. Albans to be closer to family and friends.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 42 of Enosburg Falls, and the D.A.V. Auxiliary Jay Peak Chapter of Richford.
Dottie enjoyed fishing with Jake and most of all she will be remembered for her love, care and compassion shown to others
She is survived by four sons: Francis Wetherby and his wife Betty of Vernon, Ronald Wetherby and his friend Laurel Beswick of Hinsdale, N.H., Homer Wetherby and his wife Nadene of Sheldon, and Arnold Wetherby and his wife Mary of Brattleboro; two daughters: Cheryl Johnson of Brattleboro, and Melinda Sholes and her husband Steve of Fletcher; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Herbert and Joanne Stevens of Lake Worth, Fla., and Arnold and Barbara Stevens of Rumney, N.H.; three sisters: Eunice Flynn and her husband Olin of No. Ferrisburg, Evelyn Roberts and her husband Francis of Lititz, Pa., and Margaret Higbee of No. Ferrisburg; several nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Cliff Wright. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Carmi “Jake” Wetherby on Feb. 9, 2004; and a sister, Phyllis Call.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls with Rev. Benedict Kiely celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center. There will be no visiting hours.

MARCEL J. LEBEL
ST. ALBANS / THE VILLAGES, Fla. -- Mr. Marcel J. Lebel, age 75, died Sunday, May 1, 2005, in The Villages Hospital, The Villages, Fla. Marcel was born in Bromptonville, Quebec, Canada, May 19, 1929, son of the late Robert and Annette (Bourbeau) Lebel.
Marcel served four years in the U.S. Air Force, having served in the African Theater and many other service areas. He was an independent contractor (for several years the contractor for Union Carbide Consumer Products) and a developer. He developed properties around the Franklin
County area, including the Lebel Drive and Prospect Hill as well as the Sheldon Properties. His favorite pastime was sugaring during the spring and fishing. Marcel always appreciated and shared joke telling. He was a former member of the American Legion Green Mountain Post 1 and the loyal Order of Moose, lodge 1090, both in St. Albans.
Marcel married Laure Odette, April 18, 1959. Besides his wife of over 46 years, of St. Albans and The Villages, Fla., he is survived by his three sons: Marc and his wife Rachel Lebel of St. Albans, Richard and his wife Cheryl Lebel of Springfield, Va., and Steven Lebel of Lady Lake, Fla.; sister, Jeannine Benoit of Swanton and Indian Lake, Fla.; brothers: Roger and his wife Rejeanne Lebel of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Yvon Lebel of Sarasota, Fla.; five grandchildren: Sean, Jenna, Lauren, John and Paul Lebel; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on his 76th birthday, Thursday, May 19, 2005, at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, St. Albans. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will be in the Lebel family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

CHRISTOPHER D. LEMNAH
ST. ALBANS - Christopher D. Lemnah, 34, a lifelong area resident, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 13, 2005, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care with his loving family at his side. He was born is St. Albans on Dec. 26, 1970, a son of Harold G. Lemnah and the late Lucille (Beaulieu) Lemnah.
Chris was a graduate of Bellows Free Academy and enjoyed playing pool, sailing, fishing and playing with his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include: his father, Harold Lemnah and his wife, Reba of St. Albans; his four sisters, Sheri Boylan and her husband, Steven, of Highgate, Karen Bourdeau and her husband, Marc, of Swanton, Kathy Luman and her husband, Michael of St. Albans and Amanda Ashton of St. Albans; his brother, Scott Beaulieu and his wife, Lisa, of South Burlington; his nieces and nephews: Brennden, Ashley, Joshua, Jenna, Jordan, Jacob, Jessica, Aaron, Michael, Eric, Timothy and Kayla; his maternal grandmother, Rita Beaulieu, of St. Albans; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Chris was predeceased by: his mother, Lucille on July 26, 1986; his brother, Marc on Feb. 5, 1967; his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Etta Lemnah; and his maternal grandfather, Henry Beaulieu.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Maurice J. Roy celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Chris' family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 S. Main St., St. Albans.

GARY P. MOSS
MILTON -- Mr. Gary P. Moss, age 45, died unexpectedly Friday, May 13, 2005. He was born in St. Albans, the son of Howard and Yvonne (Rogers) Moss, July 24, 1959.
He married Cathleen Roberts July 16, 1988. They had 22
wonderful years together.
Gary was employed as an R and D Machinist at Burton Snowboard. He enjoyed riding in his Jeep with the top off, modifying four-wheel drive vehicles, and riding four wheelers on the ice. He also loved hanging out in his garage, gardening, and being in the outdoors.
Gary is survived by: his wife Cathleen; his two children, Gage and Katie, whom he loved and of whom he was very proud; his parents, Howard and Yvonne Moss; his brothers, Bruce Moss and Morlene Bourbeau of St. Albans, Chris and his wife Lisa Moss of St. Albans; his sister, Tammy Demar and her husband Russell of Milton; a sister-in-law, Betsy Moss of St. Albans; his mother-in-law, Susan Roberts of St. Albans; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl Teague and her husband Alan of St. Albans, Tom Roberts and his wife Claire of Derby, Bill Roberts and his wife Amy of Fairfield, Lauri Boudreau and her husband Norman of St. Albans, and Lee Paquette and her husband Kyle of Franklin; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Tim Moss in 2003; and his father-in-law, Clarence “Bud” Roberts Jr. in 1987.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at 9 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, St. Albans. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

THERESA E. RAINVILLE
ST. ALBANS -- Mrs. Theresa E. Rainville, age 91, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Franklin County Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Ste. Angele de Monnoir, Quebec, Aug. 19, 1913, a daughter of the late Phelias and Deliose (Ostiguy) Loiselle. She married Homer Rainville Oct. 2, 1937, in Ste. Angele de Monnoir, Quebec. Mr. Rainville died Jan. 11, 1987.
Mrs. Rainville spent her life as a homemaker caring for her family. She was an avid bingo and card player, loved gambling, and made many quilts for her family.
She is survived by: her two sons, Claude Rainville and his wife Pat of Lincoln, Vt., Joseph Rainville and his fiance Kathy of Rutland; her three daughters, Ann Goodrich and her husband Francis of St. Albans, Dolores Decker and her husband Wesley of St. Albans, and Louise Kimball and her husband Dennis of Shaftsbury; her grandchildren, Michael Rainville and his wife Jill, and Barbara Rainville, David Goodrich and his wife Debra, Carol Goodrich, Travis Decker and his wife Tanya, Jessica Decker, Kim Chesley and her husband Chris, and Kelley Decker and her fiance Jamie; her great-grandchildren: Adam, Andrew, Benjamin, Madelyn, Aaron and Ryan. She is also survived by her sister, Irene Rainville of Franklin; her brothers, Noel Loiselle of Ste. Angele, Jean Pierre Loiselle of Granby; sisters-in-law, Michelle Loiselle of Marieville, Emilienne Loiselle of St. Pie, Claire Paquette of Apopka, Fla., and Marion Loiselle of Montreal; with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Homer; her brothers and sisters: Beatrice Lariviere and her husband Hormidas, Armand Loiselle and his wife Marguerite, Edgar, Rene, Gerard, Ida, Florence; brothers-in-law: Dollard Rainville, John Paquette, and Philip Rainville and his wife Yvonne.

BARBARA A. RICHARD
ST. ALBANS - Miss Barbara A. Richard, age 72, died Wednesday morning, May 11, 2005, shortly after arrival at the Northwestern Medical Center. Barbara was born in St. Albans, March 6, 1933, a daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Clark) Richard.
She attended the Holy Angels School. She was a lifelong communicant of Holy Angels Church and attended mass at St. Mary’s Church after she moved from Lake Street to Lincoln Avenue. She was self-employed and was a volunteer for various organizations in the St. Albans area. Barbara enjoyed people and was always willing to help others in any way she could.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Gary Richard of St. Albans; a dear friend, Susan Powers; and several cousins.
Private funeral services were held in the Brady & Levesque Chapel. Father Maurice Roy, pastor of Holy Angels Church, officiated. Interment was in the Richard family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

ROY EUGENE VANSLETTE
SWANTON — Roy Eugene Vanslette was quietly released from his battle with cancer on May 13, 2005, while surrounded by family and friends.
He was born to Myrle (Morgan) Vanslette Sylva and Eugene Walter Vanslette, Sept. 6, 1948, in St. Albans. After graduating from BFA-Fairfax in 1966 he joined the Navy and served a full tour during the Vietnam War era.
He worked at several jobs before working at UVM for a number of years. He then went to work at IBM where he remained until his retirement in 2002.
Roy enjoyed and was very good at a number of hobbies, including photography, wood model ship building and was an avid gunsmith, target shooter and fisherman. He grew into a lover of birdwatching in his later years, but his greatest joy was getting on his motorcycle and riding to no place in particular.
His survivors include his mother, Myrle Sylva; his sons, Roy Vanslette Jr. and his wife, Lola, and her children, Shedrick Vanslette and his wife, Katty; his best friend and soul-mate, Marion Richards and her children and extended family; his grandchildren: Roy, Damien and Tiffany Vanslette. He also leaves his brothers: Eric and wife, Jean, Matthew Sylva and wife, Bona; sister Lisa Sylva and companion Larry Root; nephews Neil, David and wife Dorothy, and niece Sara Duranleau and husband Jay. Also his primary nurse, Deb Currier, and his ca, Bubba. Roy was predeceased by his father, Eugene Vanslette; his step-father, Walter Sylva; and his brother, Michael Sylva.
Gifts may be made in his memory to the Missisquoi Wildlife Refuge and Haven Health.
