PEGGY (BIGELOW) LEFEBVRE

GEORGIA -- Peggy (Bigelow) Lefebvre 47, was an angel on earth and now has moved on to heaven to be our Guardian Angel on March 24, 2005, at home, at peace and with grace surrounded by her loving family, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Peggy was born in Burlington on March 4, 1958, to Harold and Sylvia “Dumas” Bigelow.

She graduated from Winooski High School in 1976 and from Champlain College in 1978 with an accounting degree.

Peggy’s life was expressed in the unconditional love for her family. She was an amazing inspiration to all who knew her. She loved her life and lived it to the fullest. She was a wonderful Mom to Nick and Alison Lawrence, her two children were her greatest achievements. Nothing pleased her more than to attend their sporting events with her husband Steve.

Peggy was a Girl Scout leader for many years and contributed to the talents and well-being of all who were blessed enough to know her and spend time with her. Through her leadership and friendship she made many friends in Georgia who cared deeply for Peggy. She was truly a remarkable lady.

In her spare time, Peggy liked to make quilts for her friends and family. She was also a fabulous cook. She was never one to complain about anything, and always the first to volunteer and help out. She loved spending time with her grandchildren with special overnight visits, and making holiday cookies. Peggy loved going on special outings in search of flowers and plants with her grandchildren. One of her favorite activities was gatherings with her family and loved ones by their pool. She loved to travel and enjoyed visiting Arizona and most of all the trips to Wells, Maine at the Oceanside.

The greatest testimony to Peggy was the fact that she loved, and was greatly loved. She will always be remembered as a great and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was so much, to so many. She already is greatly missed.

Peggy is survived by her husband of seven wonderful years, Steve Lefebvre; her son, Nicholas Lawrence; her daughter, Alison Lawrence; by her mother Sylvia (Dumas) and her husband Harold “Perky” Purinton; by her brother, Jay Bigelow and his wife Sharron of Bristol; her sisters, Hope Companion and her husband Kevin of Huntington, Joy Barber of Bakersfield; by Steve’s children, Greg Lefebvre and his wife Lisa and their children Paige, Brooke and Alex of Georgia, Karen Harvey and her husband Duncan, and their children Ethan and Emily of Essex Junction, and Michael Lefebvre and his wife Karla and their son Timothy of Baltimore, Md.; by her sister-in-laws, Kathleen Billings and husband Orville of Winooski, and Koreen Grimes and husband Rodney of South Hero; her brother-in-law James Lefebvre and his wife Gale of Winooski; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

She was predeceased by her father Harold Bigelow; and her brother-in-law Randy Barber.

The family is eternally grateful to the many friends and family who have lent a hand over the years, and continue to do so. Special thanks to Dr. Cheung Wong, Nicole Courtois, Kim Spina and all of the caring staff in chemotherapy services, especially the caring staff at McClure 6.
