JOYCE BEVERLY-ANN (RICHARD) ZWEERES
ST. ALBANS BAY / SWANTON -- Joyce Beverly-Ann (Richard) Zweeres, 74, a resident of St. Albans Bay for the past 17 years, passed away early Monday morning, Jan. 24, 2005, in the Northwestern Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Born in Swanton, Oct. 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Florence (Cears) Richard. She attended Swanton schools and on July 5, 1947, married Alfred “Red” Zweeres, who predeceased her on Sept. 19, 2001.
Joyce will be especially remembered for her many years of teaching ceramic classes out of her home. She participated in several area craft shows throughout the year and was an avid Bingo player. In earlier years she had worked at the Swanton Sewing Room and did private duty nursing in the Swanton area.
Joyce leaves her five children and their spouses, Donna and Phillip Florio and Diane and Allen Therrien of St. Albans Bay, Mark and Lee Zweeres, and Jeffrey and Kathy Zweeres of Florida, Earl and Mary Therrien of East Highgate and a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann (Zweeres) Tubolino of East Highgate.
One of seven children, she is also survived by her brother, George “Bud” Richard of Enosburg; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Alfred “Red” Zweeres, Joyce was also preceded in death by a son, Willard Alfred “Billy” Zweeres, on March 4, 2003.
“Joyce was loved very much and will be sadly missed. She loved and lived for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She deeply missed her husband Red and son Billy. Their life was one and it will be again now and forever.”
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada Street, Swanton Village. Father John J. Meagher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will take place in the spring in the Zweeres family lot in Greenwood Cemetery, St. Albans City.
Following the funeral liturgy a bereavement luncheon will be served at Joyce’s late home at 17 Zweeres Rd., St. Albans Bay.

GLORIA GUILMETTE
BREWSTER, Wash.— Gloria Guilmette of Brewster passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at her home. She was born on Oct. 7, 1949, to Sumner and Milley (Johnson) Guilmette at Wenatchee, Wash. She was a 1967 graduate of Cashmere High School.
Gloria and her family moved to Brewster in 1981. She went to work for Custom Apple Packers as production manager. In August of 1993 she met the love her life, Jerry Burnette. They made their home in Brewster. Gloria was very involved in all of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. She attended all school and sports activities. Granana enjoyed the sleepovers with the grandchildren.
Gloria had a way of making all occasions a very special day, it did not matter if it was Christmas or St. Patty’s Day, her family always came first and she has passed this on to her family. Up to the very end, Gloria made sure everything was the way she wanted it.
Gloria is survived by her two children, son, Travis MacDougal and partner, Carolyn Mathews (Tray and Madison), of Portland, Ore., daughter, Tracy Looper, and husband, Scott Looper, of Pateros; her love, Jerry Burnette, of Brewster; her mother, Milley Johnson, of Richford; brother, Michael Guilmette of East Wenatchee, Wash.; two sisters, Louise Guilmette of Milton, and Evelyn and Rodney Aldrich of Richford; grandchildren, Rachel and Derek, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Issac and Ireland Looper of Brewster, step granddaughter, Kalie Looper of Camas, Wash.; her lifelong friend, Marla Hills of Cashmere; and the family of the father of her children, Gwen MacDougal, Rose and Dave Paugrath of Peshastin, Laurie and Tom Bergman of Wenatchee, Jennifer and Marc Miller of Cashmere; and several nieces and nephews.
To know Gloria was to love her. We will miss you and always cherish you! You may do many other things in your life on earth that will be productive and meaningful, but none will be as admired as being the beautiful mother, daughter, sister and friend you are.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Barnes Chapel, Brewster with Donn Plew officiating. Interment was private.

PHILLIP DOUGLAS
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Phillip Douglas, 69, died Jan. 9, 2005, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis unexpectedly. He was born July 8, 1935, in Anderson, Ind. and resided in Anderson most of his life.
He retired in 1999 as a molder at Delphi E after 38 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and Marines. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
He is survived by his son, Bradford, and his wife, Kelley, Douglas of Anderson; daughters, Anita Douglas and fiancé Mantoya Skipper of Anderson, Michelle Douglas and special friend, Tim Flowers, of Anderson; sister, Gloria Delph of Bonita Springs, Fla.; brother, Thomas Douglas of Anderson; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Reginald Rice of East Highgate, Vt.; sister-in-law, Gerda Thibault, of Swanton; brother and sister-in-law, Lorne and Judy Thibault of Monkton, Vt.; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Robert Thomson of Rochester, N.Y.; grandchildren, Dustin Cotton, James Douglas, Kevin Chamberlain Jr., Darys Douglas, Aquirsa Skipper, Makai Skipper and Kendall Douglas; God daughter, Colleen Sears of Swanton; special friend, Fred James; nine nieces; four nephews and one cousin.
He was preceded by his wife, whom he married Aug. 17, 1963, Pauline (Thibault) Douglas on Dec. 6, 2000; parents Bradford and Phyliss (Nuzum) Douglas; granddaughter Ariana Skipper in 1997.
Services were held Thursday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m., at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson, with Rev. Edward Dhondt officiating. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
EDWARD F. TAYLOR SR.
GARDNER, Mass. - Edward F. Taylor Sr., 58, of Gardner, Mass., with relatives in Vermont, was born Oct. 6, 1946, in St. Albans, Vt., the son of the late Frank C. Taylor and Gertrude (Young) Taylor. Edward died Tuesday, Jan. 18, following a six-year battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 36 years, Mary L. (Larriere) Taylor; two daughters, Donna M. Taylor and Patricia A. Nylund, all of Gardner; three brothers, Arthur C. Taylor and his wife, Sheila, of Swanton, Robert W. Taylor and his wife, Jackie, of Middlesex, and Richard W. Taylor and his wife, Janice, of Brooksville, Fla.; four sisters, Beverly Lafrance of Highgate Springs, Shirley Flood, of St. Albans, Anita Sartwell and her husband, Tom, of Richford and Betty Stone and her husband, Mike, of Athol, Mass.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Edward F. Taylor Jr. on Jan. 24, 2004.
Funeral services were held Jan. 21 in Winchendon, Mass.
JASON R. ST. ARNAULT
ST. ALBANS -- Mr. Jason R. St. Arnault, age 27, died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, in St. Albans. He was born in St. Albans, March 7, 1977, son of Maurice and Mary (Bero) St. Arnault.
Jason was a 1995 graduate of Bellows Free Academy and was employed as a machinist at Yankee Corporation. He was a member of the Vermont Area Snow Travelers and National Hot Rod Association. Jason enjoyed dirt biking with his son, Nicholas, and enjoyed skiing at Smugglers Notch and Jay Peak, motorcycling and race driving.
Jason is survived by his mother Mary St. Arnault of St. Albans; father Maurice and his wife Jodi St. Arnault of Hendersonville, Tenn.; his “special son” Nicholas Robert; brothers Travis and Lance of St. Albans; sisters Tabitha of St. Albans and Jennifer and her husband Casey Gomo of Fairfax; step-brother Brian of St. Louis, Mo.; nephews Andrew and Oliver; paternal grandmother Helene St. Arnault of Manchester, N.H.; God-parents Lynn and Brian Savage of Swanton; special aunt Doris VanBuren of Johnstown, N.Y.; his best friend Christopher Harrington of Franklin; his God-children Miranda and Megan Harrington; special cousin Kristina Webb; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Irene Bero; paternal grandfather Leo—Paul St. Arnault; great-grandmother Ida (Bushey) Ives; cousins Roland Webb II, Richard Bero; and very special uncle Ray “Uncle Nut” Bero.
Funeral services will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, at 10 a.m. Friday. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be next spring in the St. Arnault family lot in St. Albans Bay Cemetery.

SYDNEY G. WILLIAMS
FAIRFIELD — Sydney G. Williams, 90, died peacefully, Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Fred Ryan on the South Road with his family and best friend and companion, "Puggy, ” the family dog, by his side. He was born in Canada, on Sept. 1, 1914, the son of the late John and Eva (Hayes) Williams.
Sydney moved to Fairfield by horse and wagon with his family when he was a young boy. He married his late wife, Gertrude I. Stanhope at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Fairfield Center on Sept. 29, 1943. She died in 1996. They were married for 52 years. Now they will be joined together again for eternity.
He worked with his father on the farm and on the roads of Fairfield and later worked for Blow and Cote. He was later Road Commissioner for the Town of Fairfield for 30 years, the job he loved best. At the same time, he had a small dairy farm of his own.
His greatest pleasure was riding around the many roads that he maintained for so many years and to see the numerous changes that have taken place since his retirement. He also loved seeing his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He leaves his children and their spouses, David and Gail Williams, Betty and Fred Ryan all of Fairfield and Rodney and Darlene Williams of Franklin; his grandchildren: John, Ben, Robyn and April Williams, Vickie and Keith Berry all of Fairfield, Paula and Christopher Durkee of South Carolina, Timothy Williams of St. Albans, Matthew and Jessica Williams of Franklin, and Michelle and Scott Pelkey of Sheldon; his great-grandchildren: Kylee and Anthony Ryan, Alissa, Briana and Ryan Berry all of Fairfield, Daniel Williams and Katie Pelkey of Sheldon, Makayla Williams of St. Albans, Ashley, Travis and Alexis Durkee of South Carolina, and one very special little guy who would brighten his day every time he came to see him, Adam Packard. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Bonnie Williams; a grandson, Billy J. Ryan; his brother Kenneth; and two sisters and brother-in-laws, Marjorie and Charles McCallister and Myrtle and Hilton Lumbra.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at 11 a.m. from the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main St., St. Albans with the Reverend Dennis E. Hayward, Rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church officiating.
Sydney's family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be later this spring in the family lot in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery. SUZANNE MARIE THERESE “TERI” REYNOLDS, LPN
SWANTON — Suzanne Marie Therese “Teri” Reynolds, LPN, 67, a resident of 65 Spring St. in Swanton Village died Friday afternoon, Jan. 21, 2004, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington.
Born in Berlin, N.H., Aug. 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Emelien and Gilberte (Napert) Cloutier. She attended schools in Berlin and on July 5, 1968 was married to Kenneth E. Reynolds who survives her.
In 1971, Teri graduated from The Fanny Allen Hospital School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She began her nursing career at the former VerDelle Village Extended care Facility, (now Haven Health), and later at the Northwestern Medical Center and Holiday House. At the time of her death she was working as a supervisor for the new Franklin County Rehabilitation Center in St. Albans Town.
She was a member of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a former longtime member of Missisquoi Valley Rescue. As a self- taught artist, Terri will also be remembered for the Art classes she taught throughout the Franklin County area.
In addition to her husband, Kenneth, of Swanton, Teri leaves two sons, Hilary Reynolds and his wife, Michele Denault-Reynolds, of St. Albans and Everett Reynolds and his friend Lisa of Burlington; one daughter Kellie Reynolds of St. Albans; two brothers, Roger Cloutier of Fort Worth, Texas and Gerald Cloutier and his wife, Carol, of Torrington, Conn. and two sisters, Ceil McCullok of Lunenburg, Vermont and Lisa Weir and her husband, David, of New Britain, Conn.; six grandchildren and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Teri was predeceased by a son, Stanley Reynolds in 1969.

GWENDOLYN “PEG” AUSTIN
ST. ALBANS — Gwendolyn Austin, 83, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005 at Franklin County Rehab Center following a lengthy illness.
Her loving family was at her side. She was born in East Fairfield Jan. 30, 1921, the daughter of the late George and Etta (Safford) Britch. She was the widow of Spencer Austin who died April 5, 1984. They were married in Enosburg Falls March 14, 1940.
Peg was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in St. Albans and the United Methodist Women, Circle 5. She was a past secretary of the St. Albans CB Club and had the handle of "Daisy.” She also bowled in the St. Albans Women's Bowling League and the Mixed Doubles. In her leisure, she enjoyed knitting, gardening, sewing, reading, and crossword puzzles. She especially loved being with her family.
Survivors include her three daughters and their husbands; Barbara and James Thibault, Betty and Wayne Pudvah, and Brenda and Craig Rich, all of St. Albans, a sister, Gladys Elwood of Enosburg, seven grandchildren; Heather Izzo and her partner, Peter Daudelin, Scott Austin and his partner, Shelly Maskell, John Davis and his wife, Michelle, Gwendolyn Davis, Jimmy Thibault and his wife, Rhonda and Michelle Thibault. She also leaves six great-grandchildren, Robert, Adam and Kenny Dudley and Myriah, Amanda and Devin Davis and nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Clarice Austin, a grandson, Robert Davis and a great grandson, Billy Dudley.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. from St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Pastor Herman Benjamin officiating. Entombment will follow to await burial this spring in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery.

MILDRED SYLVIA PETERS
RUTLAND/ST. ALBANS — Miss Mildred S. Peters, 74, a former St. Albans resident, passed away early Saturday Jan. 22, 2005, at Haven Health Care in Rutland. She was born in St. Albans on Jan. 28, 1930, the daughter of the late Edward W. and Julia E. (Lagrow) Peters.
Survivors include a cousin; Mildred Shepard of St. Albans; and close friends, Sister Judith Levins, Patrick Levins and William Levins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an aunt, Lillian Norcross of St. Albans, and a dear friend, C. Tracy Levins of Rutland, with whom she made her home for over 20 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday Jan. 27, 2005, at 2 p.m. from Holy Angels Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Peters family lot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. CASSIE ELEANOR MOBBS
MILTON — Cassie Eleanor Mobbs, 94, died Saturday Jan. 22, 2004 at the Birchwood Healthcare in Burlington.
Cassie was born in Montgomery on April 22, 1910, the daughter of Charles and Josephine (Messier) Labelle.
She had worked at the American Woolen Mills in Winooski, as a cook for the St. Joseph’s Orphanage, Essex Junction High School, Whitcomb Woods, and the Green Mountain Nursing Home.
She was a life member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Fanny Allen, Essex Junction.
Cassie was married to Howard Mobbs who predeceased her in 1970.
She is survived by her children James Mobbs Sr. and his wife, Donna, of Georgia, Vt. and Fla.; Alice Young of Burlington and her former husband, Ted, of Colchester; Elizabeth Hile and her husband, Edward, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mary Mobbs of Milton; and Donna Moore and her husband, William, of Jericho. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; her sisters Rose Cross, of Milton, Ethel Ashline, of St. Albans, Nancy Lafountain, of Lancing, Mich, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sons Howard, Harold and Wayne Longway and Charles Mobbs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Essex Junction. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery in the spring.
