TERESA ANN (COLOMB) BRESSETTE
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Teresa Ann (Colomb) Bressette passed away after a lingering illness Oct. 10, 2004, in Sacramento, Calif.
She was born and raised in Sheldon, Vt., and married Robert Bressette, who was from St. Albans. For many years Teresa resided and raised her family in St. Albans.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bressette; she is survived by her children, Alagra Raymond of Alburg, Vt., Terrie Bressette of Sacramento, Calif.; Melissa Bressette of Orinda, Calif.; and Robert Bressette Jr. of Belmont, N.H.; her six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her sisters, June Hughes and Beverly Hugheson of Melbourne, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Teresa has lived in California since 1976 but returned often to New England to visit her family and friends, and enjoyed their frequent visits to California.
Her ashes will be distributed at sea at her request. A Memorial Mass will be said at St. Anne's Shrine in Isle La Motte, Vt. next summer.
STAFF SGT. MICHAEL SCOTT VOSS
CARTHAGE, N.C. - Staff Sgt. Michael Scott Voss, 35, died on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2004.
Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.
Born Dec. 5, 1968, in Smithtown, N.Y., Michael served 10 years with the 82nd Airborne; he worked for Caterpillar in Sanford, and was attending Sandhills Community College where he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity and the Honors Society. He was a member of the National Guard Association and was in the United States Army National Guard 1-120th Infantry Battalion.
Michael was an excellent marksman and an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife of six years, Emily Dale Voss; two daughters, Lauren and Madelyn Voss all of Carthage, N.C.; mother, Christine Passero of Copaigue, N.Y.; father, George Voss of Enosburg Falls, Vt.; two brothers, Bendtsen Voss of Carthage and Owen Voss of Enosburg Falls.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Powell Funeral Home in Southern Pines, N.C.

FRANCES G. BROWN
ST. ALBANS / LOUISA, Va. -- Frances G. Brown, 87, of Louisa, Va., formerly of St. Albans, died at Orange County Nursing Home on Oct. 10, 2004. She was born on June 12, 1917, in Newfane, Vt., a daughter of the late Guy and Fannie Grout. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Osmond C. Brown.
Frances is survived by her three children, Susan Carter and her husband, Stephen, of Louisa, Va., Martha Maxfield and her husband, Bill, of St. Albans and David Brown and his wife, Susan, of Romsey, England; her sister, Ruth Atwater, of Vernon, Vt.; six grandchildren, James, Johanna and Christopher Tanner, Judith Hickman, Diana Till and Erica Brown; and nine great-grandchildren, Sinead, Eamonn, Fiona, Brennan, Arianna, Talia and Emily Tanner, Drew and Bradley Hickman. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leo Grout; three sisters, Amy Ritchie, Evelyn White and Florence Grout; and grandson Michael Tanner.
Frances was a registered nurse and worked many years on the maternity wing of Kerbs Memorial Hospital in St. Albans. She was active in her community and her church. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in St. Albans, a life member of the Eastern Star, Chittenden Chapter 59, of Milton, a member of Home Demonstration in Vermont and Florida and a member of the Golden Circle in Inverness, Fla.
She leaves a Legacy of dry New England wit and handcrafted items made with love.
A celebration of her life will take place at Preddy Funeral Home in Orange, Va., on Oct. 18, 2004, from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service and interment will take place in Vermont at a later date.

MAE E. (WHITTEMORE) LLOYD
WESTFORD -- Mae Euginia (Whittemore) Lloyd, age 96, passed away on Oct. 11, 2004, at Birchwood Nursing Home in Burlington. She was born in Sheldon on Feb. 4, 1908, daughter of the late George and Nellie (Peters) Whittemore. Mae married Earl Lloyd who predeceased her in 1978.
She is survived by a son, Calvin Lloyd and wife Rosemary of Texas; two daughters, Shirley Lloyd of Westford, and Beverly Wanker of Troy, N.Y.; a foster daughter, Julie Nunnink of Burlington; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lloyd of New Hampshire; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two sons, Carroll Lloyd and Blake Lloyd; and a sister, Ella Phelps.
There will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A graveside committal will be held on Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at 3:30 p.m. in Rice Hill Cemetery, Sheldon.

KATHLEEN E. (ENGLISH) LANG BRAY
STONEHAM, Mass. -- Kathleen E. (English) Lang Bray of Stoneham, Mass., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at her home in Stoneham. She was 80.
Born in Malden, Kathleen was the beloved daughter of the late John P. English and Kathryn (Barnes) English. Kathleen was a devoted and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Kathy was a locally renowned piano instructor. She was involved in numerous community activities and organizations. Kathy was a member of the Stoneham Theatre Guild. She was the past president of the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce, receiving the Citizen of the Year Award in 2001. Kathy was involved with the Friends of the Stoneham Public Library. She actively promoted the Summer Concert Series on Stoneham Town Common, happily participating in the festivities. Kathy was a representative of Columbia Artists of New York.
Kathy had an unconditional love for music and the Community of Stoneham.
Kathy was the beloved wife of David L. Bray. She was the devoted mother of Scott Lang and his wife Tina of St. Albans, Vt., Pete Lang and his fiancée Susan of East Lyme, Conn., John E. "Buck" Lang and his wife Lisa of Wichita, Kan., and Robert M. Lang and his significant other, Linda Cragin of Stoneham. She was the cherished grandmother of Megan Lang of Florida and Selina Lang; and step-grandchildren Amanda, Kyle, and Alison Gagner of St. Albans. Kathy was the dear sister of Robert B. English of Oregon, Joanne English Dockrell of Georgia, Carolyn English Caci of North Chlemsford, Mass., and the late John P. English.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (Route 28), Stoneham, Mass., on Thursday at 10 a.m. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

AUGUSTINO J. DiPINTO
MEDFORD, Mass. - Mr. Augustino J. DiPinto, fondly known as "Gus" or "Fatty, " age 80, died following the celebration of his 80th birthday, Oct. 2, 2004, at his home in Medford, Mass.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Medford, Mass. Mr. DiPinto served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Gus was married to the former Lorraine Poirier of St. Albans.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Linda and Tony Pascuito of Medford, Mass., Dianne and Michael DeMatteo of Medford, Raymond and Donna DiPinto of Woburn, Denise and David Nastasia of Metheun; grandchildren, Vanessa, Michelle, Greg, Daniel, Derek, Briana, Dana and Marc; brother of Salvatore DiPinto of Reading, Lee Bettinelli of Waltham, Ralph DiPinto of Andover, Anna White of Framingham; brother-in-law Donald and Jeanne Poirier of St. Albans, Vt. He was predeceased by two brothers, Vincent and Anthony DiPinto.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004. Interment followed in the DiPinto family lot in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, Mass. CHARLES H. BOIVIN
ST. ALBANS -- Charles H. Boivin, 47, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born in St. Albans on Aug. 6, 1957, a son of the late Henry and Lucille (Gauthier) Boivin.
Charlie enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his three sisters, Theresa Billow of St. Albans, Annette Connelly and her husband, Philip of Highgate and Elaine Robtoy and her husband, Ronald of St. Albans; six nieces, Karen Gonyeau, Jennifer Harrod, Penny Robtoy, April Thibodeau, Kellie Robtoy and Amy Connelly; three nephews, Joseph, Randall and John Connelly; nine great-nieces, eight great-nephews; his aunt, Germaine Zweeres and her husband, Bill of Swanton; his uncle, Conrad Gauthier of Swanton; and several cousins. Charlie is preceded in death by his mother, Lucille on July 18, 1991; his father, Henry on July 8, 1992; and his nephew, Ronald F. "Ronnie" Robtoy II on July 23, 1995.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at 1 p.m. from the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main St., with the Rev. Maurice J. Roy, Pastor of Holy Angels Catholic Church officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be in the family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery in Swanton.

IVAN R. SANDERSON
MILTON -- Ivan R. Sanderson, 88 of Milton, died peacefully Thursday morning, Oct. 7, 2004, with his wife by his side in the Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home in Burlington following a short illness. Ivan was born in Milton on March 29, 1916, the son of Raymond Willard and Hallie Bailey Mitchell Sanderson.
He was a life-long Milton resident. He was employed for a number of years with the Rousseau Brothers Plymouth dealership in Grand Isle. He was considered to be the best tractor mechanic on the islands at that time. He took over the family diary farm in Milton in 1948.
On Feb. 10, 1939, he married Leona Poquette in Milton. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Ivan retired from farming in the mid seventies and enjoyed winters in Florida with Leona for the next 20 years. He will be remembered for his generous capacity, always ready to lend a helping hand for neighbors and friends in need. He would look in on and care for many people both in Vermont and Florida.
He had a special fondness for children and animals. He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, and auto racing. He was a John Deere enthusiast. He participated in several clubs and local functions. One of his tractors pulled a float in the Milton Fourth of July parade for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife Leona Sanderson of Milton; his sister, Reba Dorothea Ballard and her husband John of Dundee, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Paul Poquette and his wife Juna of Stephenville, Va. and sister-in-law, Theresa Poquette of Highland Mills, N.Y.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeffrey Cornwell officiating. Burial will follow in the West Milton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of the service on Wednesday in the Minor Funeral Home on Route 7 in Milton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Milton, P.O. Box 107, Milton, Vt. 05468 in care of the Memorial Fund.
DR. SAMUEL M. EPPLEY
ENOSBURG FALLS - Dr. Samuel M. Eppley, age 69, passed away unexpectedly, Friday evening, Oct. 8, 2004, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
In keeping with Dr. Eppley's wishes, there will no funeral services or visiting hours.
Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls is in charge of arrangements.
CHARLOTTE B. LAVALLA
ENOSBURG FALLS - Charlotte B. Lavalla, age 78, passed away Saturday evening, Oct. 9, 2004, at the Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls.
She was born July 31, 1926, in Fairfield, the daughter of the late Clesson and Irene (Abell) Burleson.
Charlotte was a life long resident of the area and was employed at the Enosburg Falls Savings Bank for several years. She enjoyed bowling with her husband, watching baseball, working in her flower and vegetable gardens and her cats.
She is survived by two cousins, Virginia Burleson of Shelburne and Virginia Hamel of Fairfield. She was predeceased by her husband, Clyde T. Lavalla, June 5, 1983 they were married on Oct. 17, 1948, in Springfield, Vt.; her son, David A. Lavalla, Oct. 17, 2000; and an infant sister, Charlene Burleson in 1922.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 13, 2004, at 1 at the Enosburgh Center Cemetery with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. There will be no visiting hours.

GLENDORA L. FARRAR
MONTGOMERY - Glendora L. Farrar, age 77, passed away Saturday evening, Oct. 9, 2004, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
She was born April 3, 1927, in Enosburgh (Sampsonville), Vt., the daughter of the late Lucien and Clara (Martin) Greenia.
Glendora was very independent and until recently she was able to live at her home in Black Falls, which she enjoyed very much. She was a member of the Montgomery Methodist Church and when she was younger she was active in area Grange groups. She was employed at Marcy's Store in East Berkshire for several years. Since childhood she enjoyed knitting and if you have been a resident of Montgomery you probably had a pair of her socks or mittens. Glendora was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother especially to her granddaughter Grace.
She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Doris and Gregory Moon of Cambridge, N.Y.; two sons, Lee Farrar of Montgomery, and Stephen Farrar and his wife Robin of East Fairfield; seven grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Betty and Harold McLaughlin of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Cortes Farrar on May 23, 1988; a sister, Margaret Torrey; and a brother, Glendon Greenia.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Ed Sorrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Montgomery Village Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.
