LESLIE G. LONGE
ENOSBURG FALLS -- Leslie G. Longe, age 86, passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
He was born March 3, 1918, in Enosburg Falls, the son of the late George and Cora (L'Ecuyer) Longe.
Leslie was a life long resident of Franklin County. He was employed at E.M. Hayes in Enosburg, Missisquoi Pulp Mill in Sheldon Springs, the Carroll Wilson Farm in St. Albans, the A.C. Hewey Farm in Milton, he also operated a dairy farm in Georgia for 20 years; and worked at Pierce's Turkey Farm in Georgia. His final employment was with the Georgia Elementary School as a bus driver and custodian for 25 years retiring in 1983. While living in Georgia he attended Ascension Catholic Church and was a member of the Georgia Fire Dept. and had served as Chief for a period of time. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls.
He is survived by two sons and their wives, James and Joan Longe of Sebring, Fla. and Metcalf Pond, Vt., and Timothy and Mireille Longe of Enosburg Falls; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jill and Greg Nason of Sebring, Fla., and Jay and Paula Longe and their daughter Laura of Hardwick; a sister and her husband, Patricia and Earl Alger of Montpelier; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Edith Fiske of Enosburg Falls. He was predeceased by his wife, Cecile (Larivee) Longe in 1976; they were married Dec. 31, 1939, in Sheldon Springs; a daughter, Nancy Benard; a sister, Eleanor; and two brothers, Lawrence and Wesley.
In keeping with Leslie's wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Georgia Plains Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visiting hours.

SHERRY LYNN ELLINGWOOD
GRAND ISLE -- Sherry Lynn Ellingwood, 44 of Faywood Road, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, surrounded by her family in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
Sherry was born Dec. 26, 1959, in Burlington, the daughter of Bernard and Marguerite Lafromboise. She was married to Claude E. Ellingwood Sr. in Milton on Jan. 31, 1976.
She was most recently employed by the Edlund Company in Burlington. A loving mother and grandmother Sherry enjoyed being with her family and friends. She also enjoyed being outdoors camping and fishing.
She is survived by her husband Claude Ellingwood Sr. of Grand Isle, and their children: Melissa Estus and her husband Corey of Grand Isle, Christina Hamel and her husband Jeffrey of Fairfax and Claude Ellingwood Jr. and his wife Melissa of Fletcher, and her little dog and companion, Cuddles; her grandchildren, Justin, Brooke, Bridget, Britney and Brody; her parents, Bernard Sr. and Marguerite Lafromboise of Milton; her father-in-law, Leland Ellingwood and his wife Joyce; her brothers and sisters, Bernard Lafromboise Jr. and his wife Pam and family of Colchester, Laura Raymond and her husband Kerry and family of Milton, Paul Lafromboise and family of Richford, Karen Lavigne and her husband Tracy and family of Burlington and Michael Lafromboise and his wife Tammie and family of Fairfax; several uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, including special friends, Christy Smith, Patricia De Marinis, Carol Berthiaume, Judy Bouffard, Dale and Laurie Pidgeon, Uncle Michael and Aunt Teresa Devino.

MARK A. HALL
THORNTON, W.V. / RICHFORD, Vt. -- Mark A. Hall, age 39, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, July 29, 2004, while swimming off Ocracoke Island, N.C.
Mark was born April 9, 1965, in Altoona, Pa., the son of Margaret "Peggy" Bunk.
Mark was employed at Rex-Hide/Dynatech Co. in Grafton, W.V. and he also owned and operated his own taxidermy business formerly known as Ten Mile Taxidermy. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Tri County Bass Club and participated in many fishing tournaments. Mark was loved and respected by everyone he encountered.
He is survived by his fiancee, Kelley Ireland of Fairmont, W.V.; his mother and her husband, Peggy and Dale Smith of Richford; his adoptive father and his wife, Maurice and Marianne Hall of Richford; his brother, Maurice Hall Jr., his wife Dawn and their children Teddy and Krystal of Olney, Md.; two sisters, Yvonne Costello and her children Edward, Holly and Robin of Stafford, Va., Nadine Rinehart, her husband Tim and their children, Danielle, Andy, Joseph and Sara of Manassas, Va.; maternal grandmother, Helen Bunk of Portage, Pa.; stepbrother, Guy Kittell of Richford; stepsister, Jessica Boone and her husband Joseph of Griswold, Conn.; his aunts, Helen Husar and her husband Paul of Cassandra, Pa., and Anna Myers and her husband Bill of Cleveland, Ohio; his uncles, Joseph Bunk and his wife Kitty of Johnstown, Pa., and Greg Hall and his wife Rachel of Richford; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, Vt. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls.

EVERETT "CHARLIE" BARNES
RICHFORD -- Everett "Charlie" Barnes, age 60, passed away Friday evening, July 30, 2004, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
Charlie was born April 7, 1944, in Charlton, Mass., the son of the late Earle and Edith (Bond) Barnes.
Charlie was a resident of Richford for the past four years and was a former resident of Enosburg Falls and Southbridge and Charlton, Mass. He enjoyed horse pulls and while living in Massachusetts he owned and worked horses. He also enjoyed hauling junk, visiting with people and always put others before himself.
He is survived by two daughters, Sadie Barnes of Richford, and Donna Peach of Southbridge, Mass.; his former wife and mother to his children, Eleanor Barnes of Richford; his long time companion, Priscilla Phillips of Richford; his step-children, James Sochia of Richford, Robert and Arthur Sochia of St. Albans, Keith Sochia of Richford, Arthur Passino and his wife Virginia of Glens Falls, N.Y., Robert Passino and his wife Kelly of South Glens Falls, N.Y., Joseph Passino and his wife Terrilyn of Hudson Falls, N.Y., Karen Wagner of Enosburg Falls, Priscilla Klinger and her husband Mark of Wiliston, N.Y., Tirica Passino of Williston, N.Y., Margaret Miller and her husband Mark of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; his brothers and sisters, Earle Barnes Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Southbridge, Mass., Karl Barnes and his wife Bonita, Pearl Durgan and her husband Harold all of Richford, Ellen Landry of Highgate, Darlene O'Brien of Gainsville, Ga., Chirstine Lavallee of Burlington, Myra Banks and Rhonda Wiley both of Gainesville, Ga., and Karen Barnes of Blackstone, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Perry Barnes.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 at the Richford Center Cemetery with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. There will be no visiting hours.

HARTE WILLIAM ALBERT GREENE
ESSEX JUNCTION / BERKSHIRE -- Harte William Albert Greene, age 21, passed away at his home in Essex Junction, Saturday morning, July 31, 2004, with his loving family at his side.
Harte was born March 18, 1983, in Hanover, N.H., the son of Richard and Linda (Strong) Greene.
He is survived by his mother and her husband, Linda and William "Butch" Alexander of Essex Jct.; his father and his wife, Richard "Rick" and Doreen Greene of Berkshire; a sister, Kasey Greene of Essex Jct.; a step-sister, Aimee Alexander of Essex Jct.; a stepbrother, Ryan Leadbeater of Berkshire; maternal grandfather, George Strong and his wife, Lois of Milton; paternal grandmother, Barbara (Hull) Blow and her husband Gary of Colchester; paternal grandfather, William "Bill" Greene of Enosburg Falls; paternal great grandmother, Evelyn (Duffy) Hull of Enosburg Falls; step-grandmother, Florence Alexander of Morrisville; his aunts, Elizabeth "Beth" Carpenter and her husband Scott of Northville, N.Y., Lisa Picard and her husband Nelson of Houston, Texas, Sharon Kennison and her husband Tim of St. Albans, Brenda Brode of Sunapee, N.H., and Lori Hemingway and her friend Ralph Kunth of Yucaipa, Calif.; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Susan (Webster) Strong.
Harte would have been a senior this fall at Essex Junction High School (EJHS). Although he never spoke a word, Harte touched so many lives with his kind heart and smiling eyes. Harte spent most of his days when not at school playing with his favorite toys, listening to music, and helping to drive the lawn tractor. Nothing gave Harte more pleasure than his birthday celebration with his family. The expression on his face was priceless when being sung Happy Birthday to. Harte had two very special friends, Lorinda Sargent, his aide for the past six years at EJHS who went above and beyond her school role. Jane Gordon provided Harte with compassionate care after school for the last four years. Harte's legacy is that everyone he bonded with was a better person for their experience, which has been proven by his many friendships that have been made during his time at EJHS.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, Aug. 3, 2004, at 11 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the Missisquoi Cemetery in Enosburg Falls next to his great-grandfather Dennis, whom he shared the same birthday with.
Visiting hours will be held Monday evening from 6 to 9 at the Ready Funeral Service, 68 Pinecrest Dr., Essex Junction.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harte's memory may be made to the Essex Junction High School, 2 Educational Drive, Essex Jct., Vt. 05452. A fund will be established in Harte's memory to benefit a student that exhibits compassionate and caring qualities towards their fellow students.

JULIENNE BERNADETTE (WASHBURN) NEELY
ALBURG SPRINGS, Vt. / RAVENSWOOD, W. V. -- Julienne Bernadette Washburn Neely, 93, a resident of Alburg Springs and more recently of Ravenswood, W. V., died early Friday morning, July 30, 2004.
Born in Williston, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lea (Boutin) Senna. She attended schools in Williston and was married to Clarence Washburn who predeceased her in 1983. Later she married Kenneth E. Neely, who predeceased her in 1990.
Julienne was a resident of the Alburg Springs community for most of her life, where she and her husband Clarence owned and operated Washburn's Store for 38 years. She was a member of St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Parish and the Council of Catholic Women. Mrs. Neely has most recently been a resident of Ravenswood, W. V.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Dolor and Clement; and one half sister, Theresa
She leaves her son, James C. Washburn and his wife Cynthia of Ravenswood, W. V.; and their children Tyson, Molly of Hawaii and Damien of West Virginia; three daughters, Virginia Washburn of Graniteville, Mrs. Glen "Nancy" Barber of Milton and her son, Joey Barber, Mrs. Dwight "Susan" Bessette and their children Tony Bessette and Nancy Bessette, Julia Miller and Sheri Lynn Smith and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dallas "Carol" Henry of Pennsylvania; five great-grandchildren, Kayla and Ryan Bessette, Stephanie Miller, Melissa Brown and Brittany Barber; five half sisters, Leah of St. George, Doris and Janice of Hinesburg, Dorothy of Connecticut, Janet of South Burlington; one half brother, Peter of Williston; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at 11:15 a.m. at St. Anne's Shrine in Isle La Motte. Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will follow in the Washburn family lot in St. Amadeus Cemetery.

EVERETT G. SHONYO
SWANTON -- Everett George Shonyo, 72, passed away in the morning hours of Friday, July 30, 2004, in Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. He was born in Magog, Quebec, Canada on Aug. 12, 1931, son of the late Frank Burton and Rose (Sandall) Shonyo.
Everett married the former Grace Burnor and together they raised their three children. Grace predeceased Everett on March 20, 1999.
He was well known in the Cambridge, Vt. community as a farmer and member of the Cambridge Fire Department. He had also been a past dedicated farmer for over 25 years, having managed Lakewood Farms in West Swanton, owned by John Carman. Everett was John's farming partner, employee, right hand man and most of all great friend. John had graciously provided a home for Everett on the farm in return for Everett's dedication and commitment to the success of Lakewood Farms.
John's earlier passing was not only a tremendous loss to the future of Lakewood Farms but also to Everett personally. Everett loved farming continuing to work on the Bourdeau Farm for his son-in-law Rene. His unconditional love for his children and commitment to his friends will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by a son, Burton Shonyo and friend Terri of Swanton; two daughters, Mary Jane Shonyo of Swanton, and Marjorie Bourdeau and husband Rene of Swanton; two sisters, Edna Wilson of Brockton, Mass., and Ruby Sherrer and husband Eric of Dunham Quebec, Canada; two special and loving grandchildren, Emily and Ellie Bourdeau; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his constant companions, Freckles and Cupper.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hayes-Rich Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Rich Dickey officiating. Inurnment will follow in the family lot in Mountain View Cemetery, Cambridge.

PAULINE G. STUMPF
ST. ALBANS -- Pauline G. Stumpf, age 73, wife of Edward Stumpf, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born in Enosburg, the daughter of the late Winslow and Bernice (Riley) Gates.
Polly and Ed resided in East Hartford, Conn. from 1954 to 1974, where they built the East Hartford Golf Course for which she was also the bookkeeper. From 1974 to 1980 they lived in Enosburg Falls and owned and operated the Pinecone Snack Bar in East Berkshire. From 1980 to 1990 they lived in Quechee where she was employed as the bookkeeper for Timber Village and from 1990 to 2004 they lived in Thetford where she worked for Bushway Insurance Co. for a few years. In June of 2004 they moved to St. Albans. Polly was an avid skier and was still skiing at the age of 69. She also enjoyed sewing and reading books.
She is survived by her husband Edward Stumpf of St. Albans, they celebrated their 55 wedding anniversary on July 28, 2004; two sons, Mark Stumpf and his wife Marge of East Hartford, Conn., and Scott Stumpf and his companion Mary Samson of St. Albans; her grandchildren, Jason Stumpf of East Hartford, Conn., Erik Stumpf of Rhode Island, and Abbi Negro and her husband Scott of Waterbury, Conn.; her great-granddaughter, Katherine Negro; her sister, Ann Gates Kralik of South Windsor, Conn., who was great comfort to her; and, many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Charles William Gates and his wife Wanita; a sister, Helen Hayes and her husband Floyd; her brother-in-law, Joseph Kralik; and, her daughter-in-law, Lucy Forucci Stumpf.
In keeping with Pauline's wishes she will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Franklin, Aug. 9, 2004, at 11 a.m. followed by a gathering at the Franklin Homestead Felco Room. There will be no visiting hours.

GENEVA "GENNY" LUBINSKI
Geneva "Genny" Lubinski passed away Thursday, July 29, 2004. She was born in Rutland, Vt., daughter of the late Henry and Susie Thibeau Bride.
She attended local schools and graduated from Rutland High School. Genny was the widow of Anthony L. Lubinski, who passed away in 1975. She moved to New Britain, Conn. in 1941 and was a member of St. Joseph Church. A grass root activist she served on the board of CANB, Citizens for Action in New Britain for nine years; four years as President. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Human Resources Agency.
Genny won a Community Volunteer Award from United Way. She was a member of New Britain Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by four daughters, Alecia Magri and her husband William of Southington, Stacia DiValentino of Plantsville, Diane Gravelle of Plantsville and Mary Lou Sargeant and her husband Jeff; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Koboski of Bristol.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated today, Aug. 2, 2004, at 12 noon at St. Joseph Church, 195 South Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Raphael Cemetery in Poultney, Vt. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at 11 a.m.
Friends were able to call at the Kenney-Luddy Funeral Home, 205 Main St., New Britain today from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
