CHRISTINE R. CAHEE
ALBURG / SPRINGFIELD -- Christine R. Cahee, 88, a longtime resident of Springfield, Vt. and more recently of Alburg, died late Thursday evening, July 22, 2004, in the Franklin County Rehabilitation Center in St. Albans City.
Born in Brattleboro on Jan. 21, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Julia (Milke) Robinson. She graduated from Brattleboro High School and Castleton Normal School. She was employed as a teacher in schools in Putney, Westminster, Brattleboro and Springfield.
On April 23, 1941, she was married to Hedrick R. Cahee of Springfield. He died, Oct. 6, 1990.
She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church, The Springfield Telescope Makers, The Springfield Senior Center and the Southern Vermont Old Time Fiddlers.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Gomo and her husband Dan of Alburg, Vt.; one brother, Paul Robinson of Beverly, Mass.; several grand and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Glen in 1987, a son Philip in 1994, a brother, John in 2003, as well as her father in 1963 and her mother in 1992.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 30, 2004, at 1 p.m. from the Unitarian Universalist Church, 21 Fairground Rd., Springfield, Vt. The Reverend Pauline Gruber Stoddard will officiate. The family request no flowers, but memorial gifts in Christine's memory may be made to your local Visiting Nurse Association or to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements have been under the direction of the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, Vt.
ILA MARY WRY BROWN
ST. JOHNSBURY -- Ila Mary Wry Brown, age 87, formerly of St. Albans, died at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2004. She was the daughter of Ila Anthony and Ora Winifred Hibbard Wry.
After graduating from the College of New Rochelle, Ila taught at the East Rutherford (N.J.) High School. She taught later in Vermont at St. Albans City and Fairfield Elementary Schools and at the Holy Angels Grade School. A St. Albans realtor, she also served after retirement as President of the St. Albans City Council. She was an exceptionally good cook and an avid rose gardener.
She is survived by her son and his wife, N. Thomas and Ella Smead Brown; her son and his wife, Frederick W. and E. Jane Dimick Brown; a daughter, Joanne M. Brown; three grandsons, Gregory S. Brown, Dean T. Brown, and Peter D. Kalet; a granddaughter, Jennifer L. Brown; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Neil W. Brown, in 1997; a daughter, Cynthia A. Brown Kalet, in 1995; a daughter, Helen F. Brown, in 1973; and two brothers, Dean A. Wry, M.D., and Orlin V. Wry, M.D., both of New Jersey.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Angels Church in St. Albans at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2004. Interment will follow in the Brown family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Brady and Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, St. Albans, on Thursday, July 29, 2004, from 7 until 9 p.m.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478, or the Caledonia County Home Health Care or to the charity of one's choice.

JORDAN DAVID WIMBLE
GEORGIA / ST. ALBANS -- Jordan David Wimble, age 4 1/2 died Monday, July 26, 2004, in the Fletcher Allen Medical Center shortly after arrival. He was born in St. Albans, Feb. 20, 2000, son of Erin R. Lewis and Jason E. Wimble. Jordan attended The Bear-E Patch pre-school in Georgia.
Jordan is survived by his mother, Erin Lewis of Swanton; father and step-mother, Jason and Jill Wimble of Georgia; maternal grandmother, Diana McFeters of Swanton; paternal grandparents, David and Debbie (Cote) Wimble of Georgia; maternal great-grandmother, Pauline Orlowski of Ormand Beach, Fla.; paternal great-grandparents, Ed and Marjorie Cote and Erwin C. Wimble, all of Georgia; step-grandparents, Daniel and Kimberly Begiebing of Berkshire and Donna Lewis of Jackson, Mich.; his siblings, Michael R. Letourneau of Waterville, Meagen Lewis of Swanton, Kaitlynn Wimble of Swanton and Georgia, Chase Roy of Swanton, Morgan Wimble of Georgia, and Brandon Begiebing of Georgia; several aunts and uncles, including Jess and Allyson Wimble, Jamie and Brad Moody, Rick and Jennifer Lewis, Eric and Terry Lewis, Kim and Mark Hemond, Billy and Ivar Mikklesen, Chris Dickerson; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Richard Lewis on July 30, 1999.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Georgia Plain Cemetery. (Georgia Plain Road, four miles from Georgia Center.) Father Francis Connors, pastor of The Ascension Church in Georgia and St. Luke's Church in Fairfax, will officiate. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening. Memorials may be made in his memory to the Vermont Children's Hospital, Baird 5, Fletcher Allen Center, 111 Colchester Ave., Burlington, Vt. 05401.

NAOMI GRACE (MORIN) GIBSON
SWANTON, Vt. / ORANGE CITY, Fla. -- Naomi Grace (Morin) Gibson, 94, went home to her Lord on Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at John Knox Village in Orange City, Fla.
She was born in Clarenceville, Quebec Canada on, Jan. 1, 1909, the daughter of the late Clothilde "Clara" (Perrault) and Aime "Milo" Morin.
Naomi married Allan Gibson on Nov. 21, 1925. Having been trained by Dr. Archambault from Henriville, she worked as a midwife and helped her husband on their farm in Clarenceville. They moved to Swanton in 1945 and she went to work for the Boucher Nursing Home. She was active in the Memorial United Methodist Church Choir, Sunday School, United Methodist Women and the International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons, Inc. Affectionately known as "G.G." she was a loving grandmother to her three grandchildren. G.G. loved music and started singing at the age of ten for local churches and community events. She continued singing most of her life.
During her years in Vermont, Naomi and Allan also lived in Charlotte, where they worked for the Hill family; and in South Burlington, where they worked for the University of Vermont. They moved to Florida in 1975, returning to Swanton for summer visits.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by her daughter, Nathalie Roy of Orange City, Fla.; her grandchildren, Naomi Serour and husband Jim of Utica, N.Y., Raymond Roy and wife Ruth of Swanton and Elaine Welch and husband Guy of Williamstown; her sister Lillian Perry of Bedford, Quebec Canada; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years in 1979 and by her son-in-law, Malcolm E. Roy in 1999.
Committal Services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the family lot in Riverside Cemetery. The Reverend Donavee Copenhaver, pastor of the Missisquoi Rivers Charge of the United Methodist Church will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton.
GAIL ANN COTE
BURLINGTON -- Gail Ann Cote, 54, passed away peacefully Friday, July 23, 2004, at high noon, surrounded by her family.
Gail was born Feb. 27, 1950, in St. Albans, the daughter of Lucille (Bourgeois) Fortuna and the late Peter Fortuna.
A lifelong resident of Burlington, Gail will be remembered for her fiery personality and dedication to her creative spirit.
Gail is survived by her daughter, Christie Cote of Scarborough, Maine; her mother Lucille Fortuna of Waterbury Center; her three sisters, Patricia Koledo and her husband Peter of Richmond, Cara Griswold and her husband, Gary, and their son, Ethan of Waterbury Center, and Cheryle Jimmo and her husband, Jeff, and their daughters Roxy and Jillian of Burlington; and her brother, David Fortuna of Richmond.
Gail's family wish to thank all of her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially the family of Elaine and Francis L'Esperance, who have been supportive throughout her life, and a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the University Medical Center Intensive care Unit for their care and compassion at a most difficult time.
The Liturgy if Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at 7 p.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada Street, Swanton. Father John J. Meagher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

ELDON L. LAPLANT
PITTSFIELD MAINE -- Eldon L. Laplant, 85, died July 22, 2004, at a Pittsfield healthcare facility following a long illness. He was born in Sutton Quebec Canada, Aug. 31, 1918, the son of Leon B. and Mary J. (Getty) Laplant.
He graduated from Franklin, Vt. High School class of 1938, and furthered his education at the Vermont Technical Collage in Randolph Vermont graduating in 1940. He married Joyce Sunderland in Georgia, Vt. on Dec. 18, 1942, and she died Oct. 24, 2000, following 57 years of marriage.
He was employed as a DHIA Milk Tester in Vermont, a Dairy Farmer in Georgia, Vt. He was a Loan Officer for the Franklin County Bank in Vermont from 1959 - 1967. He then took a position as Farm Credit Manager in Newport, Maine for four years until he accepted a position as a supervisor at Banton Brothers Mill in Newport, Maine and worked there until his retirement in 1983. He attended the Georgia Plains Baptist Church in Vermont and attended the High Street Congregational Church in Newport, Maine and served a chairman of the Deacons at High Street.
He was a member of Banner Grange in Vermont, a selectman and school board member for the Town of Georgia, Vt., served as an advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and also served as president of the PTA in Georgia, Vt. "Don" enjoyed woodworking and doing special projects for his family and friends. He enjoyed working with leather and playing golf with friends Slim and Arney. He was water "Dowser" all his life and located over 1000 places that provided active water wells.
He is survived by three sons and their wives, Stephen and Mary Laplant of Pittsfield, Larry and Judy Laplant of Stetson, and Richard and Carol Laplant of Cambridge; two daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Richard Pattee of Milton, Vt., and Janet and Ronald Minor of St. Albans, Vt.; one brother, Douglas Laplant of Westerly R.I.; 12 grandchildren, eight and almost nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be remembered by a special friend, Jo Webster of Georgia, Vt.
Friends may call Sunday at the Brown Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport, Maine.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the Georgia Plains Baptist Church.
MADELEINE MARIE MEDOR
HIGHGATE FALLS -- Madeleine Marie Medor, 58, a longtime resident of the Brosseau Road in Highgate Falls, died suddenly Friday evening, July 23, 2004, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans City.
Born in Sheldon on Feb. 18, 1946, she was the daughter of the late George and Olive (Smith) Rondeau. She attended Iona Academy in Alexandria, Ontario Canada graduating in the Class of 1964. On July 18, 1970, she married Walter Raymond Medor who survives her.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother Madeleine was also associated with the Chevalier Insurance Company in Swanton Village for the past 23 years. She will always be remembered for the great love she had for her grandchildren and for gardening.
In addition to her husband Walter of 34 years, Madeleine leaves her daughter, Michelle Medor of Highgate Falls; two sons, Brian Medor and his wife Deborah of Swanton and Matthew Medor and his wife Maria of El Paso, Texas; and three grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas and Emma Medor all of Swanton. Also surviving are three sisters, Marie Anne West and her husband Leo of Sheldon, Jacqueline Simard and her husband John of West Swanton and Helen Allegrezza and her husband John of Georgetown, Conn.; two brothers, Andre Rondeau and his wife Carolyn of Sheldon and George Rondeau and his wife Jeannine of Berkshire; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at 11 a.m. from St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Lamkin Street, Highgate Center. Father John J. Meagher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will follow in the Medor family lot in St. Louis Cemetery.

NORMA R. PRIVE
SHELDON -- Norma R. Prive, age 78, died unexpectedly Friday, July 23, 2004, at her home in Sheldon.
Norma was born in Berkshire, Sept. 23, 1925, the daughter of the late Leon and Maude (Larkin) Johnson.
Norma focused her life's work on raising her family, her children were the center of her life and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and the sunshine in her life.
Norma was a life long resident of Franklin County, and resided in Sheldon Springs for the past 25 years. During that time, she developed many special friendships. Norma and her friends spent much of their time together talking and enjoying the swing at Norma's home.
Norma is survived by her sons, Andrew Prive and his wife Heather of Highgate, Roger Prive of Natick, Mass. and Steven Prive of Indianapolis, IN; her daughters Kim and her husband Paul Calhoun Jr. of Essex, Susan and her husband John Hoy of Indianapolis, IN; her grandchildren Vicki McKinnon and her husband Gary of Indianapolis, IN, Connor and Jordan Calhoun of Essex and Dustin Glidden; and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kaytlyn McKinnon of Indianapolis, IN; a brother Richard Johnson and his wife Marlene of Unionville, Conn.; and a sister Clara Morgan of Manchug, Mass.; and a special friend Amelia Nolan. She was predeceased by a brother, Vincent Johnson, and sisters Joyce June and Lois Turini.
Funeral services will be held at Spears Funeral Home at 96 Dickinson Ave. in Enosburg Falls on Tuesday, July 27, at 11 a.m. Family and friends may call on the family at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in the Berkshire Center Cemetery.

HILDA M. DAVIS
RICHFORD -- Hilda M. Davis, age 88, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at the Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans.
She was born Dec. 8, 1915, in Richford, the daughter of the late Carl and Myrtle (Thomas) Vaughan.
She was a resident of Richford most of her life, where she and her late husband owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. She was a member of the Richford 1st Baptist Church and the Baptist Women's Society. Hilda enjoyed traveling, especially to Atlantic City, and had been to all 50 states. She also enjoyed playing Bingo.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Bruce and Virginia Davis, and Robert and Catherine Davis all of Richford; her grandchildren and their families, Michael Davis, his wife Kimberly and their two children, Brittany and Joseph; Heather Davis, Thomas Davis, Shawn Davis, Sara Davis and her daughter Makayla, and Christina Davis; two nephews and their wives, Greg and Pauline Vaughan of Bedford, Quebec, and Carroll "C.J." and Debbie Murray of St. Albans. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Davis in 1988; and her brother Clifford Vaughan.
In keeping with Hilda's wishes she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Richford 1st Baptist Church with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Richford.
A time of visitation will be held Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford.
