LEWIS G. PARROTTE, SR.
FAIRFIELD -- Mr. Lewis G. Parrotte, Sr., age 73, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Northwestern Medical Center on Monday evening, Aug. 18, 2003. Lewis was born in North Hero, July 1, 1930, son of the late Roy and Flora (Whitehead) Parrotte.
For over 37 years he was a dairy farmer and worked at Wirthmore Feed Company. He was also employed by R.W. Simmons as a cattle dealer and worked for Campano Monument Company. Lewis retired in 1997. Above all, Lewis enjoyed his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Lewis married Betty Westover, Aug. 12, 1950. Betty died July 8, 2002.
His survivors include his seven children and their spouses, Linda and Raymond Elwood of Fairfield, Lewis Jr. and Cheryl Parrotte of Ellenburg Center, N.Y., Shirley and Bruce Stine of Fairfield, Roy and Pauline Parrotte of St. Albans, Elizabeth Parrotte of Fairfield, Lynn Parrotte and her friend Gary Barrett of Fairfield, Judy Brior and her friend Robert Albu of Highgate; 17 grandchildren, including a very special granddaughter, Betty Jo Elwood, who lived in his home and was his primary caregiver; 11 special great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest and Betty Parrotte of Charleston, N.H.; Roger Parrotte of Schnectady, N.Y.; three sisters, Irene and Gordon Lord of Champlain, N.Y., Arlene and Wayne Benway of New York, and Lucille Wilkins of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; a special sister-in-law, Beverly Parrotte of Ashford, Conn.; special friend, Jake Stevenson of Ashford, Conn.; and a very good friend, Richard Longe of Enosburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosanna Guyette, Donald and Dorothy Westover, all of St. Albans; Albee (Jr.) and Cheryl Westover of Alburg; a real special friend and caregiver, Dr. Michael Corrigan and nurse Julie Brier; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Betty, he was predeceased by his sister, Iona Therrien and three brothers, John, Leslie and Victor Parrotte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's Church, St. Albans. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in the Parrotte family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Albans.

RICHARD J. YANDOW
ST. ALBANS/WINOOSKI -- Richard J. Yandow, (Master Sergeant, Ret.), 69, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, after a brief illness. Dick was born in Colchester on March 23, 1934, the son of the late Ronald Yandow, Sr. and Cecile (Blondin) Yandow.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1972. After his retirement from the service, he worked at the U.S. Postal Service from 1972 to 1989. He then volunteered his services as a tour guide at the Shelburne Museum and a courier at Northwestern Medical Hospital, both of which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Dick loved driving his antique Mustang cars, attending and entering car shows. He also loved antiques and would talk about them to anybody who would listen. He will always be remembered for his humor and quick wit.
In addition to Jeri, his wife of 37 years, Dick is survived by his daughters, Melody Kimball of Essex Junction and Lori Gregoire and her husband Larry of Fletcher. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Amy Desmond and her husband Ken of Bolton, Tom Darul and Matt Barnes, both of Georgia.
He is also survived by his brothers, Ronny Yandow and his wife Teddy of Winooski and Bobby Yandow and his wife Marge of Virginia; and his sisters, Sue Niquette and her husband Gerry of Winooski and Judie Yandow of Winooski; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine (Yandow) DeLatte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Vermont Affiliate, Inc., P.O. Box 485, Williston, Vt. 05495.
Visiting hours will be on today, Aug. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski.
SHEILA S. FAGON
SWANTON/ST. ALBANS - Mrs. Sheila S. Fagon, age 66, died Saturday afternoon, Aug. 16, 2003, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born in Hartford, Conn., Sept. 16, 1936, daughter of the late Arthur and Kathryn (McAloon) Sullivan.
She was employed in legislative administration by both the U.S. Legislative and Vermont Legislative branches.
Later, she was a secretary to the Vermont Superior and District Court judges in Franklin County.
She was a communicant of Holy Angels Church and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Unit 758.
Her first husband, John E. Smolen, died in 1982. On Sept. 15, 1984, she was married to Oison Bluto, who died May 23, 1996. She married Alfred Fagon in July 2001.
Besides her husband, Alfred, she is survived by her two sons Michael Smolen and John Smolen; five grandchildren, Michiel, John, Shaun, Timothy and Joshua Smolen; two stepdaughters Linda and a special step son-in-law Earl Richard of St. Albans Town and Corrine Bluto of St. Albans; five step-sons, Allen Bluto of St. Albans Town, Carl and his wife, Diane Bluto of Georgia, Marvin Bluto of Highgate, Michael Bluto of Massachusetts, Kenneth Bluto of St. Albans; two brothers Eugene and Francis Sullivan of Connecticut; seven step-grandchildren, Brent and Haley Richard, Joe, Jean, David, Erin and Shane Bluto; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two husbands, sisters Maureen Sullivan, Kathleen Resse and brothers Niel Sullivan, Bernard Sullivan and Timothy Sullivan.

ARTHUR H. PICKARD
ALBURG CENTER - Arthur H. Pickard, 87, a longtime resident of the Alburg Center Community, died Saturday afternoon, August 16, 2003, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington.
Arthur was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, June 17, 1916, the son of the late Joseph C. and Louise (Hubbard) Pickard.
Orphaned at the age of nine years Arthur was raised by his aunt Elizabeth Parsons. She predeceased him in August of 2000. With Elizabeth's assistance he was educated in early years in Boston at the Thompson Island Farm and Trade School. After receiving a four -sport scholarship he transferred and later graduated from the Montpelier Seminary in Vermont. He later attended both Tufts University in Boston and the University of Vermont. On May 23, 1942, he married the former Dorothy Rockwell who survives him.
For 30 years Arthur worked for the United States Department of Agriculture in the Soil Conservation Service. Following his retirement he became active throughout the Alburg Community and served as director of the Alburg Center Cemetery Association and town auditor. He was a former member of the Alburg Union Congregational Church and at the time of his death was a parishioner of The Old Stone United Methodist Church in Isle La Motte.
He will be remembered for his love of round and square dancing and was a member of the Continental Round Dancers and Champlain Squares. He was also an avid Bridge player, golfer and sailor. He enjoyed music and played trumpet most of his life and in earlier years was a regular on the Montpelier radio station. Arthur was coach of the Little League Baseball team for many years. He coached the tri-town team that consisted of Alburg, Swanton and Highgate players who won two state championships in the late 1950s.
Arthur faithfully served his country in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1950 after being active with the 98th Infantry Artillery Band. He was a member of the American Legion, Creller-Landon Post 60 in Alburg.
In addition to his wife, Dorothy of 61 years, Arthur leaves his daughters, Carol Pellerin of Alburg, Elizabeth Pickard and her husband Robert Fricke of Fairfield, Julie Brunell and her husband Dennis and Dorothy Brunell and her husband Hermon all of Chazy, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Arthur Pellerin and his wife Rita of Grand Isle and Katelyn, Drew and Kayse Brunell all of Chazy, N.Y.. Also surviving are a nephew, John Timothy Hubbard and his wife Marsha of Richmond, Texas and two cousins, Claire Kolacz of Georgia and Nelson Dutton of North Chelmsford, Mass.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Frost Hubbard (Robert Frost Pickard).
Arthur's family wishes to give very special thanks to the staff on McClure 5 at Fletcher Allen Health Care for the excellent care and support given during these past several days.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at 2 p.m. from The Old Stone United Methodist Church in Isle La Motte Village. The Reverend Debora Laporte will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pickard family lot in the Alburg Center Cemetery. EMILE G. "TINY" BELANGER
PLAINVILLE, Conn./ST. ALBANS - Emile G. "Tiny" Belanger, 70 of Plainville, Conn. passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003 at his home after a long respiratory illness. He was born April 2, 1933 in St. Albans, the son of the late Alfred and Rose (Remillard) Belanger.
Emile graduated from Bellows Free Academy in 1952 and then joined the U.S. Navy. He served for four years as a seaman on a fleet oil tanker during the Korean Conflict. A resident of Plainville for 46 years he was employed at G. Fox & Company in Hartford, and most recently for the Town of Plainville Highway Department and the Water Pollution Control Plant, until his retirement in 1995. Emile was an avid lover of fishing and hunting. He was truly a kind and gentle man. Emile held a special place in his heart for his four legged friends, Sadie, Lady, and Skippy who always greeted him with barks and doggie licks.
He is survived by his sister and devoted brother-in-law, Gloria and Marvin Sweeney of Plainville, CT; his nephew, James Sweeney and his wife, Joanne of Edgewater, FL; two nieces, Debra Jean Southall and Valorie Barnard, both of Bristol, CT, his aunt, Yvette Champagne of Swanton; and a host of cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Lionel "Patrick" Belanger on December 11, 1973 and Alfred B. Belanger on July 4, 1996.
Emile's family will receive friends on Wednesday, evening, from 6-8 P.M. with a service at 8 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St, Plainville. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main St., St. Albans with the Reverend David Kiyingi of Holy Angels Catholic Church officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. LIZAH JEAN MARTIN
RICHFORD -- Lizah Jean Martin, daughter of Shannon Church and John Sylva, died at birth Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
We held an angel in our arms today, so beautiful and perfect in every way. Memories of this special day will be in our hearts forever, knowing that soon enough time will bring us together. Love always, Daddy, Mommy, Khayli and John.
Besides Lizah's parents, she is survived by a sister, Khayli Martin; a brother, John Martin, both of Richford; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Lauretta (Sylva) Martin of Richford; maternal grandparents, Donna and Bruce Young of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; paternal great-grandfather, George Bushey of St. Albans; maternal great-grandmother, Lucy Dennis of St. Albans; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by paternal great-grandparents, John and Barbara Boylan, and Robert Martin Sr.; maternal great-grandfather, Harold Dennis; an uncle, Robert Martin Jr.; and a cousin, Jaden Michael Paquette.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fairfield.

EVELYN M. TATRO
ST. ALBANS/SWANTON -- Mrs. Evelyn M. Tatro, age 90, died Thursday evening, Aug. 14, 2003, in The Holiday House Nursing Facility. She was born in St. Albans Town, at the Bay, April 29, 1913, daughter of the late William and Carrie (Bruley) McMahon.
Evelyn had been a resident of Four Winds and moved to the Giordano Manor in 1999. She became a resident of Holiday House just last month.. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, having lived most of her life in the St. Albans area.
Evelyn is survived by her five children, James and his wife Judy Tatro of Mooers, N.Y., Loretta Crab of Warehouse Point, Conn., Roberta Jacques of Hancock, Theresa Tatro of North Springfield, Mass., and Robert and his wife Anita Tatro of Winooski; a daughter-in-law, Lillian Tatro of Swanton; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her son, Henry Tatro, died in 1991. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Dale Crab; sisters, Dorothy Farr, Edith Barber, Marion McMahon and brothers William, Gregory, Lester, Lucius and Donald McMahon.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Brady & Levesque Chapel, 86 South Main St., St. Albans. Father Leonidas Laroche, pastor of St. Mary's Church, will officiate. At Evelyn's request there will be no public calling hours.
Interment will be in the McMahon/Tatro family lot in Egypt Cemetery in East Fairfield.

CALEB G. KNEELAND
FAIRFAX -- Caleb Gordon Kneeland, age 3, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. He was born on Sept. 17, 2000, in Burlington, son of Frank and Valerie (Heath) Kneeland.
Caleb was a beautiful little boy who was always completely present to love and laugh. He had a spirit of joy, love, and contentment. He made everyone that was part of his life look at life differently and that was one of his biggest jobs with us. He taught us all so much about appreciating the simple things in life and never complained about the obstacles that he continually had to overcome. Caleb loved sunny days, chirping birds, his dog Thunder, and buggy rides with his nurse Betty. He liked to play the throwback game and be held and rocked by his mom and grandmother in his chair. Caleb loved visitors and he had many. Caleb touched deeply the lives of many. His beautiful presence will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his parents, Frank and Valerie Kneeland of Fairfax; his grandparents, Jerry and Carolyn Heath of North Hyde Park, and David and Sherri Kneeland of Eden Mills; an aunt, Stephanie Heath of Montpelier; and an uncle, Ryan Kneeland of Lowell. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Linda Kneeland.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Essex Alliance Church on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert Magie officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Fairfax Plains Cemetery at 2 p.m.
