JEAN E. (BRODEUR) BARKYOUMB
WESTFORD - Jean Eva (Brodeur) Barkyoumb, age 81, passed away early Sunday morning, July 20, 2003 at Haven Health Care in St. Albans. She was born October 1, 1921 in St. Angels, Canada, daughter of the late Elphege and Ozilva (Fontaine) Brodeur.
Jean married Kenneth Barkyoumb on Jan. 4, 1941 in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Milton. Kenneth predeceased her May 1, 1994. She enjoyed her many flower gardens, dressmaking, cooking and canning from her garden.
Jean loved to spend time with and take care of her large family and many grandchildren. In her spare time she loved to watch her birds and managed to cut and perm her own children's hair. Jean always looked forward to the precious times spent with her family and friends. Those that touched her life, especially nurses who took such loving care of her at Haven Health Center, will dearly miss her.
She is survived by, two sons, Francis Barkyoumb and his wife, Carol, of Westford, and Kenneth Barkyoumb, Jr. of Bolton; eight daughters, Janet Yandow and her husband, Roger, of Essex, Gloria Ledoux and her husband, Albert, of Fairfax, Betty Severance and her husband, John, of Sheldon, Sandra Cutting and her husband, Ronald, of Fairfax, Linda Mathieu and her husband, Richard, of Westford, Brenda Barkyoumb and Larry "Ike" Irish of Fairfax, Debra Irish and her husband, Mark, of Fairfax, Susan Corse and her husband, Douglas, of Fairfax; two brothers, Adrian Brodeur and his wife, Dorilla, of Gardner, Mass., George Brodeur and his wife, Juliette, of Lunenburg, Mass., 21 grandchildren, and four sisters-in-law, Antoinette Brodeur of Gardner, Mass., Lucille Brodeur of Gardner, Mass., Joyce Barkyoumb of Essex Jct., and Lillian Williams and her husband, Donald, of Conway, Mass.; a brother-in-law, John Barkyoumb of Westford; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also predeceased by, four brothers and four sisters.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 from 5 to 8 pm at Hayes-Rich Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at 11 a.m. in St. Luke Catholic Church, Fairfax, with the Reverend Francis Connors officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Luke's Cemetery.

MABEL E. CHAMPAGNE
SWANTON -- Mabel E. Champagne, 71, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington.
She was born in Bedford, Quebec Canada, Aug. 4, 1931, the daughter of the late Philo and Winnie (Brown) Bockus. She attended Bedford schools and was married to Earl (Henry) Champagne who predeceased her on July 8, 1986.
She leaves two sons, Everett Champagne of Isle La Motte, David Champagne of Swanton and a daughter-in-law, Lynne also of Isle La Motte. She also leaves three brothers and five sisters, as well as three granddaughters, two grandsons, two great-grandsons and several nieces, nephews and many special friends.
In addition to her husband Earl (Henry) Champagne, Mabel was also predeceased by a daughter, Cindy on Sept. 25, 2002, and two brothers and one sister.
She will be remembered for her love of Bingo and playing cards.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 21, 2003, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Reverend Deborah Laporte, pastor of the Old Stone United Methodist Church in Isle La Motte, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Champagne family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.

URSULA BROSNAN EDWARDS
ST. ALBANS / SPRINGFIELD / CAMBRIDGEPORT, VT -- Ursula Brosnan Edwards died July 15, 2003, at Northwestern Medical Center with her family at her side.
She graduated from Bellows Falls High School class of 1936. She continued her education at Boston City Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1940 as a registered nurse. She worked as a nurse for many years and was associated with Springfield Hospital, Rockingham Memorial Hospital, McGirr Nursing Home in Bellows Falls, the Fellows Gear Shaper nursing department in Springfield. She retired from nursing in 1981.
In addition she assisted her husband on the award winning family farm.
On March 26, 1941, she married Roland E. Edwards. She is survived by her husband, Roland, and together they raised two children, a son John Edwards and his wife Deanna of Swanton, a daughter Jane Edwards of Fargo, ND. They have seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Ursula was an active member of the community. She was a member of the Community Christian Church of Athens, Bellows Falls Eastern Star and Cambridgeport Community Ladies Guild.
As one of the few health professionals in the area she was always generous sharing her professional expertise and time in helping her neighbors with their health care needs. It was not unusual for her to leave home and make several house calls. She was home health before there was home health.
She will be remembered as a loving, caring woman, by her family, friends and neighbors.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 18, 2003, at 11 a.m. from The Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, Vt., where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. Luncheon immediately following at the Masonic Temple, Westminster Street, Bellows Falls. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers gifts in Ursula's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
Local arrangements were under the direction of the Kidder Memorial Home in Swanton.
LINDA JOYCE (KING) PAQUETTE
GEORGIA -- Linda Joyce (King) Paquette, age 55, passed away with her loving family by her side late Monday evening, July 14, 2003, at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans, following a lengthy illness. She was born July 28, 1947, in St. Albans, daughter of the late Lester and Irene (Mayo) King. Linda married Raymond Paquette on Aug. 7, 1971, in the Georgia United Methodist Church. He predeceased her on June 21, 2000.
She worked as a receptionist for several years at the Northwest Veterinarian Associates Clinic. Linda will be fondly remembered for her delicious doughnuts, baked beans and canning of fruits and vegetables from her garden every fall. Linda so looked forward to spending precious hours with her loving grandchildren and will be tremendously missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Lester Paquette of St. Albans; her daughter, Joanna Lussier and her husband, John, of Hinsdale, N.H.; two brothers, Mike King and his wife, Sue, of St. Albans, and Jeff King and his wife, Karen, of St. Albans Bay; five sisters, Connie Graham and her husband, Roy, of Georgia, Judy Moore of Highgate, Sandra Rundstrom of Swanton, Cindy King and her partner, Laurie McMahon, of Georgia, and Bonnie King of Winooski; three grandchildren, Dustin Paquette, Alyssa Lussier and Joshua Lussier; her aunt, Elaine Larivee and her husband, Guy, of West Enosburg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Gates, and Nancy King; and her brother, Richard King.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, July 17, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Georgia United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be in the family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Albans, at the convenience of the family.

MICHAEL ROLLIN BOLIO
ENOSBURG FALLS - Michael Rollin Bolio, 56, passed away Monday, July 14, 2003, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 10, 1947, in Colchester, the son of Phyllis A. (Macia) Bolio and the late Rollin P. "Babe" Bolio.
Upon graduation from Jericho High School, Mike joined the Army National Guard 131st Engineers and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He was honorably discharged in 1969 having achieved the rank of Spec. 5 and receiving the Army Commendation Medal.
On Feb. 7, 1970, he married Brenda L. Ward in St. Thomas Church in Underhill Center. A carpenter by trade but an avid hunter and outdoorsman, he especially loved running and training his beagles, and was a member of the Vermont Beagle Club for 13 1/2 years.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Ward) Bolio of Enosburg Falls; his mother, Phyllis Bolio of Jericho; three sons, Michael R. Bolio Jr. of Westford, Scott Bolio of Enosburg Falls, and Kirk Bolio and his friend Tina Martin of Highgate; three grandchildren, Quentin, Cole and Connor; three brothers and their wives, Robert "Beano" and Peggy Bolio of Underhill, Gary and Dixie Bolio of Cambridge, and Jim and Janice Bolio of Milton; a sister and her husband, Sandy and Tom Owen of Underhill; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their spouses, Nancy Duchaine of South Burlington, Betty and Duane Howard of Westford, Alan Ward and his companion Mary Young of Morrisville, Kevin and Renee Ward of Burlington, Loren and Karen Ward of Jericho, and Rhonda and Kevin Russin of Essex; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his dad, Rollin "Babe" Bolio in 1997.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 18, at 11 a.m. in the United Christian Assembly, 100 Raceway Road, Jericho, with Pastor Duane Hodgeman officiating. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Underhill. There will be no visiting hours.

LYNDON D. McALLISTER
ENOSBURG FALLS -- Lyndon D. McAllister, age 80, died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. He was born in Richford, July 17, 1922, the son of the late Roy and Winnie (Davis) McAllister.
He was a resident of Enosburg Falls for the past 25 years and was a former resident of Richford where he attended Richford High School. He was a self-employed drag line and bulldozer operator before working for F.W. Whitcomb, retiring in 1987. He also taught a welding class at the Cold Hollow Career Center Adult Education Program. He was a former member of the Richford Fire Department and the Richford Masonic Lodge.
Lyndon enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Most of all he loved his family and they will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Eva (Schillgalies) McAllister of Enosburg Falls; two sons and their wives, Roy and Sally McAllister of Richford, and Gary and Susan McAllister of Enosburg Falls; two daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Wayne Hurtubise of Richford, and Linda and Steve Lothian of St. Albans; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Corwin McAllister of Jensen Beach, Fla.; a sister, Joyce Dennison of Enosburg Falls; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Jean McAllister; a great-grandson, Joshua Leach; a brother, Alden McAllister; and a sister, Melva Larner.
Relatives and friends may call on the family Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
In keeping with Lyndon's wishes there will be no funeral services and burial will take place at the convenience of the family at the Richford Center Cemetery.

JOHN HAMILTON TREVITHICK
SHELBURNE - John Hamilton Trevithick, 61, in the presence of his three sons and his wife, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born March 6, 1942, in Springfield, Mass.
As a boy he lived in Post Mills, Vt. and later moved to Storrs, Conn. After graduating from Storrs High School, John attended the University of North Carolina earning a degree in mathematics. Employed at Pratt Whitney Aircraft, John worked in design engineering before moving to Burlington in 1974.
John married Marie Choinere in 1975. Over the next 24 years, John and Marie lived in Shelburne where they raised their three sons, Dave, Mark and Tim. John worked in Casey Construction and Wiemann and Lamphere Architects until 1989 when he retired due to a cerebral aneurysm.
John enjoyed coaching little league baseball, soccer and basketball. In his retirement, John was an avid fisherman and loved to spend time on his boat with his three sons. While John enjoyed sports, he devoted most of his passion to family, friends, and the community. John was often seen riding his tractor to cut neighborhood lawns and to visit friends.
John is predeceased by his parents, Dean and Patricia (Dubois) Trevithick. He is survived by his wife Marie; brother, Tom Trevithick; sister, Diane Oglesby and brother-in-law Forrest; his children from a previous marriage, Jack, Pat and Pam; his grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
John's outgoing and caring personality is an enduring example for all of us who knew him. He is survived by a large family and countless friends who will miss him dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 16, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Shelburne. Interment will follow in Shelburne Village Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ready Funeral Home, South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington.
