REGINALD C. THOMPSON
BRISTOL, VT/FAYETTE, MO -- Reginald C. Thompson, formerly of this area, died of a lingering illness on April 14, 2003, in Fayette, Missouri.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Second Congregational Church in Jeffersonville on Thursday, June 12, at 1 p.m. Visiting with family members will begin at noon. Interment will follow at the Waterville Cemetery in Waterville.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
WILMA (BURNS) COON
LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Wilma (Burns) Coon, 71, passed away on June 2, 2003, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born in Montpelier.
She was a music teacher and later retired from Norwich University Library. Her husband of 44 years, Bruce Coon, USAF retired, passed away in 1999. They are survived by two daughters and their husbands, Daphne and Kelley Summerhill of Boulder City, Nev. and Stephany and Stephen Rowe of Henderson, Nev.
A private graveside service will be held in Highgate Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 120 Wall Street, 19th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
VERONA IRIS SNOW
RUTLAND -- The funeral service for Verona Iris Snow, 79, of Rutland who died Monday June 2, 2003, at Rutland Regional Medical Center following a long illness will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Aldous Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Swanton.
She was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Swanton, the daughter of Percy and Lena (Blodgett) Medor.
Mrs. Snow was a longtime resident of Rutland, and member of the Rutland Senior Center and the RSVP program. She loved her family and home and had been employed by the Grand Theatre and Metro Mail Co.
Survivors include two sons, Harold E. Snow of Rutland, and David R. Snow of Bennington; a brother, Kenneth Medor of Florida; four grandchildren, Kim Lewis, Paul Snow, Lynn Evans, and Traci Thomas; and four great-grandchildren, Colby Evans, Caitlyn Evans, Brandon Jenkins, and Reily Lewis. Her husband, Sgt. Paul Snow, Vermont State Police-retired predeceased her.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Aldous Funeral Home, 44 North Main Street, Rutland.

MARGARET R. HUDSON
ST. ALBANS -- Margaret R. Hudson, 94, a resident of St. Albans since 1970, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2003, in the Northwestern Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Manhattan, N.Y., Aug. 25, 1908, the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Tiernan) Rolf. On April 5, 1940, in Bronx, N.Y., she married Walter Hudson who predeceased her on July 26, 1986.
Margaret graduated from New York University with a Masters in Education and taught grades 1 through 5 in Bronx, N.Y. for 40 years.
Survivors include her two daughters, Anne Martin and her husband, Ronald, of St. Albans Town, and Lynne Champagne and her husband, Everett, of Isle LaMotte; three grandsons, Peter Martin and his wife, Christie, Ronald Martin, Jr., and Robert Martin and his wife, Tricia; six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Emma, Calypso, Levi, Liam and Grace; and a special friend, Gretchen Maskell. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Hannon and Marion Rolf and a brother, Jack Rolf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church. There will be no visitation. Interment will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2003, at 1 p.m. in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, N.Y. MICHAEL M. FLETCHER
MILTON -- Michael M. Fletcher, 57, died Friday evening, May 30, 2003, at his home following a short illness. Michael was born in Melrose, Mass. on Sept. 17, 1945, the son of Vernon and Lucie (Pray) Fletcher.
Mike was a member of the Army National Guard for many years. He had served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of the Vermont Vietnam Veterans of America.
Most recently, he had been employed as a machinist.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Dawn Fletcher of Milton; by an Aunt Joan MacMillan of Billerica, Mass.; his cousins, Robert Keating of Woodstock, N.H., David MacMillan of Dracut, Mass., and Nancy Collette of Salem, Mass.
He was predeceased by his brother Donald, his father Vernon, his mother Lucie, and an Aunt Shirley Keating.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at 4 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton, with full military honors. Friends may call on the family Wednesday afternoon from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home.
JOHANNA AVIS PHILIPPON
ENOSBURG FALLS -- Johanna Avis Philippon, age 50, passed away May 30, 2003, at the Northwestern Medical Center with her husband at her side. She was born March 14, 1953, in Burlington, the daughter of the late Carlton and Mary (McKenna) Benoit.
She was a resident of Enosburg Falls for the past eight years and a former resident of Milton and Burlington. She enjoyed making crafts, lawn sales, antiques, and cooking for a crowd. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween for which she and Leonard went all out decorating.
She had a collection of Santa Clauses in her Santa Room. She really enjoyed the outdoors and gardening and had beautiful gardens around her yard along with a pretty little pond that she and Leonard worked hard on. She also had seven cats that she adored, they were her babies. Most of all she loved having a best friend relationship with her daughter.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Philippon, of Enosburg Falls; her daughter, Danielle Benoit and her fiancé, Eric Benware, both of Enosburg Falls; her sisters, Carol and James Cheeseman of Burlington, Beth Benoit and her friend Stanley Brinkman of Burlington, Peggy Benoit and her friend, Robyn Liberty, of Alburg, Kimberly Sawyer and her husband, Kenneth, of Milton, Kathleen Shappy and her husband, Dean, of Burlington, and Jacqueline Benoit of Swanton; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a brother, David Benoit.
Funeral services were held today, Monday, June 2, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Visiting hours were held Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls.

JON BEEMAN SANBORN
ST. ALBANS/CAROLINA SHORES -- Jon Beeman Sanborn, 67, of Calabash, N.C., passed away on Friday, May 23, 2003, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Jon was born July 17, 1935, in Burlington, the son of the late John and Helen (Beeman) Sanborn of St. Albans and lived with his family in Liverpool, N.Y. before moving to Carolina Shores in 1982. Jon was a 1953 graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and a 1957 graduate of American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Upon moving to Carolina Shores, Jon was employed by Brunswick Community Hospital from 1983 to 1996. Jon retired in December as the town administrator for the town of Calabash after six years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Little River United Methodist Church where he served as chairman of the finance committee and was an honorary member of the Calabash Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Dolores Soares Sanborn; a brother, Robert Sanborn of Suffield, Conn.; three daughters, Laurie Ann Garry of San Diego, Calif., Lynn Marie Robinson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lisa Joy Hildebrand of Pinehurst, N.C. He is also survived by three grandsons, Justin Robinson, Travis Robinson and "Jack" Hildebrand.
A service of remembrance was held at the Little River United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 26, 2003.

ROBERT J. CROSS
ST. ALBANS/BURLINGTON -- Robert J. Cross, 70, a resident of St. Albans since 1998 passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Redstone Villa Nursing Home following a brief illness. He was born in Burlington, Aug. 19, 1932, the son of the late Lewis H. and Helen (Gendron) Cross.
Bob retired after 32 years of service to the Burlington Electric Company and Burlington School District. He enjoyed camping, auto racing and was a member of Lodge 793, Fraternal Order of Eagles and St. Albans Lodge 1090, Loyal Order of Moose.
Survivors include his son, Steven M. Cross of Richmond, Va.; daughter, Lorraine Moritz and her husband, Randy, of Hinesburg; sister, Janet Bean of Hinesburg; his girlfriend, Betty Primeau, of St. Albans; two grandchildren, Megan and Casey Moritz of Hinesburg; sisters-in-law, Lucille Pelkey and her husband, Francis, of St. Albans, Betty Ann Blodgett of Swanton and Gloria Donaghy and her husband, John, of Florida; two nieces, Lisa Blodgett of Winooski and Ashley Blodgett of Swanton; three nephews, Gary, John and Bruce Bean; and his close friends, Dorothy Richards and Gary Richards both of Georgia, Homer and Kolleen Richards of Swanton, Nicole Cross of St. Albans and Marilyn Letourneau and her family of St. Albans.
At Bob's request a graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at 11 a.m. in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Albans with the Reverend David Kiyingi of Holy Angels Parish officiating. There will be no visitation.

MICHAEL C. COCHRAN
N. WOLCOTT -- Michael Calvin Cochran, age 49, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at his home in North Wolcott, Vt., following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 28, 1953, in Morrisville, son of Betty (Reynolds) Cochran and the late Calvin E. Cochran.
Mike married the former Barbara Barry on June 30, 1973, in the Waterville Church of the Nazarene. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and vacations spent with family and friends. He loved the ocean and especially vacations at Virginia Beach. His dream in life, to have his own farm, came true when he became the fifth generation to own and operate the family farm. Although he sold his dairy herd in the mid nineties, he continued to raise and board heifers, sell hay, and produce maple syrup.
Mike had a love for his family like no other. Each and everyone held a special place in his heart as he does in theirs, especially his 12 grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Cochran of North Wolcott; two daughters, Michelle Miller and her husband Matthew of Belvidere, and Kimberly Wheeler and her husband Alfred of North Wolcott; one son, Christopher Michael Cochran and his fiance Katie Brier of North Wolcott; his mother, Betty Cochran of North Wolcott; four brothers, David Cochran and his wife Laurie of North Wolcott, Larry Cochran and his wife Mary of North Wolcott, Terry Cochran and his wife Karen of North Wolcott, and Nathan Cochran and his wife Avril of Craftsbury; one sister, Valerie Smith and her husband Steven of Craftsbury; 12 grandchildren, Kaelob, Benjamin, Jason, Cassandra, Ethan, Abigail, Nicholas, Daniel, Michaela, Skyler, Dylan, and Elijah; his father and mother-in-law, Ralph "P-Nut" and Nancy Barry of Waterville; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and many special friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Waterville Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Avril Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Belvidere Center Cemetery.
