Rea M. (Benoit) Charlebois
Vergennes, Vermont
Rea M. (Benoit) Charlebois, 87, died peacefully at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington in the presence of her two daughters on Wednesday, February 2, 2000.
She was born November 13, 1912 in Crysler, Ontario Canada, and the daughter of Felix and Hermeline Benoit.
Rea was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes.
As a senior citizen volunteer for 17 years at Addison County Eagle's Club, she helped cook the dinner meal.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with and taking care of her great-grandchildren; she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rene Charlebois in 1981, and five children.
Rea is survived by two daughters; Rita and her husband Lester Delphia of Waltham, Marguerite and her husband Larry Senecal of Cornwall; five grandchildren, Michael and Meegan Delphia of Williston, Stephen and Tammy Delphia of New Haven, Kevin and Kathi Delphia of New Haven, Brian and Andrea Senecal of Milton, Bruce Senecal of Wells, Maine; eight great-grandchildren, Conor and Nikolas Delphia, Collin and Cody Delphia, Christina, Katlyn and Kyle Delphia, Megan Senecal; three brothers, Arthur and Loretta Benoit of Williston, Rene and Mattie Benoit of Bridport, Gerard and Evelyn Benoit of Bridport; a sister, Clara Mario of Enosburg Falls; a brother-in-law, Lucien Charlebois of Cornwall; a sister-in-law, Alice Charlebois of Middlebury; several nieces and nephews.
Rea was also predeceased by ten brothers and sisters.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, February 5, 2000 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes.
Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery in Vergennes.

Marcelle "Babbie" MacCormack
Fair Haven, Vermont
Marcelle "Babbie" MacCormack, 66, died Wednesday, February 2, 2000 at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. MacCormack was born in Burlington on October 29, 1933, the daughter of Alfred and Alice (Bigras) Lambert.
She was a graduate of Burlington High School, Class of 1951.
Afterwards, she attended Fanny Allen School of Nursing and received her R.N. in 1954.
She continued her education at the University of Rochester.
Following her return to Burlington, she was instrumental in establishing the Licensed Practical Nurse Program for the State of Vermont.
She taught at Fanny Allen for several years.
She married Francis "Sam" MacCormack on November 21, 1959 in Burlington, then moved to Fair Haven to raise a family.
She had worked as the District Nurse for the Addison Rutland Supervisory Union for several years.
She became actively involved in local school functions and activities.
She had also been the school nurse for Fair Haven, as well as having served for 14 years for the Fair Haven Union High School, School Board.
She was employed as an R.N. at Sager Nursing Home in Fair Haven for 12 years, during which time she had acted as a dispatcher for the Fair Haven Volunteer Rescue Squad. She had been presently working as the Nurse at Green Mountain College in Poultney for the past 11 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Fair Haven.
Surviving is her husband Francis "Sam" MacCormack of Fair Haven; two sons, Peter F. MacCormack of Austin, Texas and Mark S. MacCormack of Burlington; daughters, Dr. Sally A. Ryan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Beth K. MacCormack of Sacramento, California, and Amy L. Prenevost of Middletown, Connecticut; two brothers, John Lambert of Colchester and Denis Lambert of Stowe; four sisters, Pauline Lambert of Burlington, Lillian Lambert of Van Nuys, California, Stella Dungan of Houston, Texas and Jacqueline Austin of Van Nuys, California; a grandson, Samuel Ryan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Thompson.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, February 7, 2000 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Fair Haven.
The Reverend Richard Tinney, Pastor, was the celebrant.
Entombment followed the mass in St. Mary's receiving vault.
A private graveside burial and committal service will take place at a later date in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

John E. Cram, Jr.
Brandon, Vermont
John "Jay" Edward Cram, Jr., 29, died Thursday, February 3, 2000 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.
Mr. Cram was born in Middlebury on January 25, 1971.
He was the son of John and Sandra (McClaren) Cram, Sr.
He has been a resident of the Brandon Area all his life.
He received his early education at the Lothrop School in Pittsford.
Afterwards, he attended Stafford Technical School in Rutland. He loved playing his guitar and listening to music.
Survivors include his parents John and Sandra Cram, Sr. of Brandon; one brother, Eugene Cram and a sister, Rebecca Piper, both of Brandon; his maternal grandmother, Malieta Cram of Brandon; a niece, Amber Piper and a nephew, Ariel Piper, both of Brandon; two adopted nieces, Kelly Sheret and Melissa Sheret and an adopted nephew, Ronald Sheret. He is also survived by 12 uncles, 13 aunts, and many cousins.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 8, 2000 at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
The Reverend Richard White, Pastor of the Brandon Congregational Church officiated.
A private graveside committal service and burial will take place at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon.

Alvin "Bud" Stearns
Brandon, Vermont
Alvin "Bud" Stearns, 86, died Friday, February 4, 2000 at his home in Brandon.
Mr. Stearns was born in Mt. Tabor, Vermont on January 14, 1914, the son of Samuel C. and Margaret (Johnston) Stearns.
He received his early education in local Danby Schools.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
He was honorably discharged in 1945.
He returned to the Danby area and worked as a crane operator for Vermont Marble at the Danby Quarry.
He later became a self-employed carpenter and building contractor.
He had constructed several motels in the Manchester, Vermont area before moving to Maywood, New Jersey.
There, he met and married Martha (Reil) Sherwood in 1957.
Following retirement in 1968 they moved to Brandon. Martha Stearns died January 30, 1983.
He was a member and past Chaplain of the Brandon American Legion Post #55.
He also belonged to the Manchester, Vermont Masonic Lodge.
Surviving is his wife Marion Hollis Stearns of Brandon; whom he married August 31, 1985; 4 stepsons, Stanley Sherwood of Tampa, Florida, Dwight Mason and Clarence Hollis, Jr., both of Brandon, and Brian Hollis of Rutland; one stepdaughter, Annette Alger of Leicester; one sister, Martha Sprague of North Bennington.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Alvin Stearns, Jr.; two sisters, Alice H. Slater and Betty Quelch, and a brother, Charles Stearns.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 9, 2000 at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
The Reverend Richard White, Pastor of the Brandon Congregational Church officiated.
Entombment followed the service at Pine Hill Cemetery, where a graveside committal service and burial, with Military Honors, will take place at a later date.
