ROSEANNA M. JERRY
SHELDON SPRINGS/ST. ALBANS -- Mrs. Roseanna May Jerry, age 86, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care Center, following an extended illness. She was born in St. Albans on April 13, 1916, daughter of the late Louis and Josephine (DesMarsis) Gardner.
She was married to Abner Jerry Sr., who died in 1961. She raised her family by working as a chef at the Hotel Kelley. Roseanna was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. She was a resident of Heritage Lane in St. Albans, and for the past 15 years, made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Karen Jerry, in Sheldon Springs.
Besides Leonard and Karen, she is survived by 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Abner Sr., sons Abner Jr. and Robert, sister Florence, brothers Lawrence, Joseph and Delphis Gardner.
Funeral services were held today, Friday, at 10 a.m. in the Brady & Levesque Chapel. Father Maurice Roy, pastor of Holy Angels Church, officiated. Interment followed in the Jerry family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.
OLIVE C. DEUSO
MONTGOMERY -- Olive C. Deuso, age 93, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 12, 2003, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. She was born Jan. 19, 1910, in Montgomery, the daughter of the late William and Ellen (Lumbra) Donna.
She was a resident of Montgomery and Richford most of her life and was employed at Zacks on the Rocks and Jay Peak. She enjoyed spending time at home and reading love stories.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennie Soule of Montgomery; three sons and their wives, John and Polly Deuso of Berkshire, Steven and Darlene Deuso of Eden, and Roger and Brenda Deuso of Montgomery; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Deuso; six sisters, Wilma Domina, Dorothy Everett, Linnie Mercy, Bernice Deuso, Eunice Smith, and Doris Phaneauf; a brother, Archie Donna; and a long time friend, Calvin Farrand.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will be this spring in the Montgomery Center Cemetery. Visiting hours will beheld this evening, Friday, from 6 to 8 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave.

RUTH ELIZABETH RYAN
MILTON -- Ruth Elizabeth Ryan, 90, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 12, 2003, at the Birchwood Terrace Healthcare in Burlington. Ruth was born in Milton on May 12, 1912, the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth ( Gibbs ) Keeler.
She was married to Archie Ryan. Ruth had worked as a librarian for the Milton Public Library for many years. She was a member of the United Church of Milton and was an avid historian. She was a member of the Milton Historical Society and enjoyed writing historical articles for the Burlington Free Press, the Suburban List and the Enosburg Falls Courier.
Ruth was very instrumental in gathering information for what is now the Milton Historical Society. She was a charter member of the Milton Historical Society & for 20 years acted as museum curator & museum historian. She was well remembered for the many articles she wrote about early and colonial Milton, and early Milton families, in her weekly features entitled "Looking Back, " published throughout the year prior to Milton's 200th Birthday Celebration.
She contributed to the community in many other ways, including with the Riverside Rebekah Lodge 57, the Arrowhead Home Makers, the Mary Fletcher Hospital Auxiliary, and with the Ladies Group in the United Church of Milton.
Mrs. Ryan was predeceased by her husband Archie in 1977, and her sister Dorothy Griswold in 2000.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at 10 am. in the United Church of Milton. Burial will be in the Milton Village Cemetery in the spring.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Milton Historical Society in care of Jane Fitzgerald, P.O. Box 2, Milton, Vt. 05468. Visiting hours will be held Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
LANGDON H. PETERS
MILTON -- Langdon H. Peters, 87, died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, 2003, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlingon. Langdon was born in Burlington on Sept. 2, 1915, the son of Herbert and Fannie (Halo) Peters.
He worked for a sort time on area Farms, then enlisted in the National Guard. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in Africa, Italy and Germany during World War II. Following the service Langdon was employed by Tulatex for several years. He was later employed by General Electric as a Mechanical Inspector. He retired in 1982 following 24 years of service with G.E.
On Sept. 22, 1947, Langdon married the former Ruth LaBounty in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Burlington. Mr. Peters was currently a devout member of St. Ann's Parish family in Milton. He was also a member of the Eagles in Burlington and in Milton.
In addition to his wife Ruth, of over 55 years, Langdon is survived by his children, Wayne Peters and his wife Darcey of Milton, and Brett Peters and his wife Victoria of Cambridge; his grandchildren, Aaron and Christina of Milton, and Megan, Taylor and Mikayla of Cambridge; by his sister Dorothy Hunter of Essex; and by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Frank Peters, and his sisters, Ida Parish and Kay Aresenault.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Father John Feltz, Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Milton.
In lieu of flowers, masses may be offered in Langdon's memory.
Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visiting hours will be held this evening, Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 6-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:45 p.m. conducted by Father Feltz in the Minor Funeral, located at 237 Rt. 7 South in Milton.
JADEN MICHAEL PAQUETTE
RICHFORD -- Jaden Michael Paquette, son of Nichole Martin and Patrick Paquette, died at birth Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
We promise to be there Son though when we cannot say. But we will be getting closer with every passing day. Remember that we love you so much, more than we shared and will always be thinking of you until the day we meet you there. Love Mommy and Daddy
Besides his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Lauretta (Sylva) Martin of Richford; paternal grandmother, Roxanne (Billodeau) Paquette and her friend Francis Cross of St. Albans; paternal great-grandparents, Germaine Patricia (Baker) Billodeau of St. Albans; maternal great-great-grandfather, George Bushey of St. Albans; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Barbara Boylan.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fairfield.

JOHN CHARRY
EAST FAIRFIELD -- John Charry, age 93, died Saturday evening, Feb. 8, 2003, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. He was born Dec. 24, 1909, in Trenton, N.J. the son of the late Joseph and Barbara (Demeter) Charry.
He was employed for 40 years at Mercer County Community College in Trenton, N.J., retiring in 1969. He was also a self employed sculptor and played violin with the Trenton Symphony Orchestra. Following his retirement, he moved to Goshen, Vermont, and since August of 2001, he made his home with his daughter and son-in-law in East Fairfield.
He is survived by a son and his wife, Nicholas and Diane Charry of New Hope, Pa.; two daughters and their husbands, Marcia and Kingman Brewster of East Fairfield, and Alida and William Elliot of Machipongo, Va.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane (Eaton) Charry on Sept. 12, 2001; one brother, Joseph Charry Jr.; and one sister, Barbara Offenbecher.
In keeping with John's wishes, he will be cremated and memorial services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no visiting hours.

HELEN A. HINE
SWANTON -- Helen A. Hine, 96, of Swanton, and formerly of Malletts Bay, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, in the Redstone Villa in St. Albans. She was born in Chazy, N.Y. on Aug. 28, 1906, the daughter of the late Frederick and Sarah Tusa.
In 1949, she married Clarence Hine, who predeceased her in 1985. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Colchester.
She is survived by four children, Clarence Jarvis of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Gladys Shipe and her husband, Carl, of Mechanicsville, Md., Harold Jarvis and his wife, Sondra, of Medford, Oregon, and Daisy Lanthier of Swanton; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by sons Gerard Jarvis and John Hine; and by 10 siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held today, Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Colchester, with interment to follow in New Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Burlington.

Visiting hours were held on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Ready Funeral Home, North Chapel, 934 North Ave. in Burlington.
ALVIA A. BLUTO
ALBURG -- Alvia A. Bluto, 74, a resident of the Alburg community, died early Thursday morning, Feb. 6, 2003, in the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans City.
Alvia was born in Grand Isle on Jan. 31, 1929, the son of the late Edson and Olive (Mashtare) Bluto. He attended schools in Grand Isle and married the former Ethel Lachappelle, who predeceased him on Sept. 14, 1993.
Alvia worked for many years as a mason in concrete construction.
In addition to his wife, Ethel, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Alvia leaves three daughters, Lana and her husband Frank Duquette of Alburg, Sally Bluto and her friend Rodney Joseph of Burlington and Gale Ruffles-Tuttle and her husband Charles Tuttle of Swanton. He is also survived by two sisters in-law; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours and memorial services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
