Eric R. Young

Eric R. Young, 18, died Saturday, January 22, 2000 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.
He was born on October 8, 1981 in Newport, the son of Randy R. and Pamela (DesRoches) Young.
Eric was a student at Vergennes Union High School and Patricia Hannaford Career Center in Middlebury.
Eric is survived by his mother and stepfather Pamela and Daniel Bedard of Addison; a sister, Holly Dillon of Addison; half-sister Chelsey Young and half-brother Brent Young, both of Williston; his girlfriend Becky Clark of Ferrisburgh; grandparents Ila and Bill Driver of Troy; grandmother Beatrice Young of Richford; great-grandmother Helen Morse of Jay; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 27, 2000 at the Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport. Interment will be in Village Cemetery in Troy in the spring.

Lois J. Bryant
Brandon, Vermont
A mass of Christian burial for Lois Jean Bryant, 38, who died on Monday, January 24, 2000, in Sudbury, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident; was celebrated on Friday, January 28, 2000, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brandon. The Reverend Albert "Skip" Baltz, Pastor, was the celebrant. Entombment followed the mass in Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon. A graveside committal service and burial will take place at a later date in the family lot at Forestdale Cemetery.
Ms. Bryant was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on August 18, 1961. She was the daughter of David L. and Pauline (Barrett) Bryant. She grew up in Littleton, Massachusetts and graduated from Littleton High School, Class of 1979. She continued her education at Castleton State College and received her degree in Education in 1994. She had been a resident of Vermont since 1980, moving from Littleton, Massachusetts. She was employed as an Administrative Secretary in the Registrar's Office at Castleton State College for the last 15 years. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, reading and loved driving her 1977 M.G.B.
Surviving is her father David L. Bryant of Brandon, her stepmother Diane E. Bryant of Brandon; one sister, Lisa Marie Bryant of Brandon; three stepbrothers, Steve M. Flood and Jeff R. Flood, both of Rutland and Kyle D. Flood of Brandon; one stepsister, Laurie Perry and her husband Mike of Pittsford, and her special nephew Evan Perry. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marcel J. Brouillard
Bridport, Vermont
Marcel John Brouillard, 21, died January 24, 2000 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury, surrounded by his family, as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born November 7, 1978 in Burlington, a son of Guy and Donna (Charlebois) Brouillard. He attended Bridport School and Middlebury Union High School. A carpenter by trade, he worked most recently for McKernon Group in Brandon, and had previously worked at Breadloaf Construction Company and Orwell Construction Company. On November 27, 1999 he married Rebecca "Becky" Grant. The couple resided on Route 22A in Bridport.
Marcel was an avid hunter, fisherman, enjoyed playing pick-up basketball games and camping.
He is survived by his wife Becky; his parents, Guy and Donna Brouillard; his son, Tyler Brouillard; a brother, Adam Brouillard and his fiancee, Deena Dow; his sister, Monica Bailey and her husband Nelson, all of Bridport; his in-laws, Arnold and Connie Fox; his sister-in-law, Amanda Huestis and her husband Nate; his great aunt, Theresa Bougor; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday, January 28, 2000 at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Bridport. The Reverend John McDermott, Pastor, was the celebrant. Interment will be in the spring in St. Genevieve's Cemetery in Shoreham.

Paul D. Benoit
Middlebury, Vermont
Paul D. Benoit, 67, died January 25, 2000 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.
He was born in Burlington on June 20, 1932, the son of Victor and Elydia (Lavigne) Benoit. He received his education in Burlington schools. He enlisted in the US Army and served two terms. Following his discharge, he worked as a meat cutter for various retail stores until his retirement.He moved to Middlebury from Shoreham, where he had lived for many years.
He is survived by two sons; Shawn Benoit of Winooski, and Kenneth Benoit of Leicester; one sister, Sister Theresa Benoit, Presentation of Mary Church in Methuen, Massachusetts; an aunt, Germaine Lavigne; two nephews, Douglas Benoit and Michael Benoit; a dear friend, Helen Ryan, and many cousins.

Frances R. Hutchins
Shoreham, Vermont
Frances Rita (Maculey) Hutchins, 73, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2000 at the Bristol House in Bristol. Frances was born in Shoreham February 12, 1926, the daughter of William and Ida (Garvey) Maculey. Frances operated a dairy farm with her husband Fred in Shoreham. She also worked in the local orchards and cared for her families as well as friends' children.
Surviving are two sons; Robert Hutchins and his wife Betty of Panton, Rolland Hutchins of Rutland; two daughters, Anita "Indy" Taylor of St. Johnsbury, Vermont and Mari Provost and her husband Roger of Plattsburgh, New York. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred, who died in 1991; two daughters; Bonnita and Barbara and her son Fred, Jr.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, 2000 at the Sanderson Funeral Home in Middlebury.
Graveside committal services and burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Shoreham at a later date.
