PAUL A. HAKEY
ORLANDO, Fla. / MILTON, Vt. -- Paul Andrew Hakey, 49, of Orlando Florida, formerly of Milton, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Jan. 29, 2003, in Orlando, Fla.
Paul was born April 13, 1953, in Colchester, the son of Charles A. and Doris M. Bean Hakey. He graduated with honors from Milton High School, Class of 1970. After graduating from the University of Vermont in 1974 with a bachelors degree in Political Science, Paul attended the University of Arizona in Tucson where he studied for a graduate degree. He worked for the Social Security Administration primarily in the Boston area for over 25 years before retiring in August of 2000.
On Sept. 14, 1979, he married Johanne Bousquet in Winthrop, Mass. In 1985 they moved to Sturbridge, Mass with their children and dogs and resided there until their move to Orlando, Fla. in September of 2002.
Paul is survived by his wife Johanne of Orlando Florida and their two children, Jeremy Hunnewell of San Diego, Calif. and Elizabeth Hakey of Orlando, Fla.; his Parents, Charles and Doris Hakey of Milton; and his mother-in-law, Gyselle Bousquet Gamelin and her husband Edward Gamelin of Estero, Fla.; his brother, Mark Hakey and his wife Louise of Fairfax; sisters, Christine Gorman and her husband William of Milton, Joyce Hakey and her husband Norm Steinhour of Fairfax; his sisters-in-law, Danielle Dalk of Burlington, Louise Becker and her husband Robert of Colorado Springs, Colo., Francine Jones and her husband Steven of North Andover, Mass; and Michelle Latorre and her husband Charlie of Estero, Fla.; as well as several nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 10 am in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester by Father Roger Charbonneau. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.

BLANCHE ROSE WEEKS
SWANTON/MORRISVILLE -- Blanche Rose Weeks, 80, a native of Swanton, died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, 2003, in the Copley Manor Nursing Facility in Morrisville.
She was born in Swanton, March 27, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Melvina (Gardner) LaPan. She attended schools in Swanton and was married to Henry James Weeks who predeceased her, March 18, 1986.
Blanche leaves three daughters, Betty Button of Rutland, Shirley Swann of Sheldon and Leona Young of Essex; four sons, David Weeks of Morrisville, Henry Weeks of Rutland, Edward Weeks of Milton and Roger Laraway of Laconia, N.H.; one sister, Mary Jane Vincellette of Swanton; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at 11 a.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Father John J. Meagher, SSE, Pastor of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Swanton and St. Louis Roman Catholic Parish in Highgate Center, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Weeks family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.
HARRIET PATRICIA KELLEY KAPLAN
ST. ALBANS -- Harriet Patricia Kelley Kaplan passed away at the Holiday House in St. Albans on Jan. 28, 2003. She was born on July 1, 1915, in Nyack, N.Y. She was the youngest of four children born to Ellen Murrin Kelley and John R. Kelley.
She graduated from Nyack High School and attended the University of Michigan and Columbia University. She married Milton Kaplan in 1941. After serving the Army in the Second World War, Milton returned and they settled in Nyack and raised their family.
Patricia was active in church and school activities while her children were growing up. She worked as a nurse's aid at Nyack Hospital and later was a receptionist at Orange & Rockland. She was a Life Member of Nyack Community Ambulance Corp. She and Milton rode the Wednesday 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift for 25 years.
Patricia loved gardens and animals. Her house was full of flowers and plants and any stray that happened by her house was taken in and loved. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting and rug hooking. She was an excellent cook and family, friends and neighbors enjoyed her dinner parties, family get-togethers, and holiday festivities.
Her parents, her sisters, Eleanor and Elizabeth, and her brother, John predeceased her. Her husband Milton died in 1994. In 1995 Patricia moved to Georgia to be close to her daughters Ellen and Mara.
She is survived by her six children; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; her daughter Patricia and her husband, Supo, and their children; her daughter Ellen and her husband, Alex, and their children; her son James; her daughter Mara Cicaloni and her daughter; her son John and his wife, Lydia, and their children; and her son Michael and his wife, Leslie, and their children.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Hanneman's Funeral Home in Nyack, N.Y. Family visiting hour is from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Nyack Community Ambulance Corp., Nyack's Humane Society or to Club Respite in St. Albans Bay, Vt.
ALICE ROCHON BROW
ALBURG -- Mrs. Alice Rochon Brow, 93, a resident of the Alburg community for most of her lifetime, died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, 2003, in the Cedar Hedge Nursing Facility in Rouses Point, N.Y.
Mrs. Brow was born in Embrum, Ontario Canada, Sept. 23, 1909, the daughter of the late Philias and Amanda (Clavelle) Rochon. She attended schools in Ontario and was married to David Brow who died Sept. 21, 1969.
In earlier years, Mrs. Brow was associated with Thermal Wire of South Hero. She has been a longtime and devoted parishioner of St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Parish in Alburg and a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She was a former member of the Grand Isle County Foster Grandparent Program.
She will always be remembered as an avid Bingo player and for her devotion and support of the Alburg Public Library.
Mrs. Brow leaves two sons and their wives, Maurice and Sherry Brow of Alburg and Gerald and Maxine Brow of AuSable Forks, N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. Florence Metivier of Burlington; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Christopher Brow in 1998 and her brothers and sisters, Ralph Rochon, Roland Rochon, Lucy Brow, Rose Poissant and Yvonne Faubert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at 11 a.m. from St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Alburg Village. Father Wendell H. Searles, vicar general for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will follow in the Brow family lot in St. Amadeus Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, from 4 to 8 p.m.

C. ARTHUR WOLD
FAIRFAX -- C. Arthur Wold, age 90, passed away Jan. 24, 2003, at the Holiday House in St. Albans, five days prior to his wife's passing, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 18, 1912 in Chicago, Ill., son of the late Lars and Elsa (Ringholm) Wold.
Arthur married the former E. Louise Martin on June 15, 1941, in Bedford, Mass. and the couple celebrated their 61st anniversary in 2002. During his years in Massachusetts, he established his own bakery and became well-known for his baking expertise. While there, he was an active Mason and Past Master of the King Cyrus Lodge AF & FM and a Shriner in the Aleppo Temple of Eastern Massachusetts.
Arthur moved to Fairfax in 1971 and became active in the community as a member of the Lamoille Lodge 6 F & AM in Fairfax, Past Patron of Fairfax Unity, Chapter 17 Order of the Eastern Star, Past District Deputy and Past Grand Representative of Manitoba of the O.E.S. State of VT, and member of the United Church of Fairfax. Arthur served as a Town Lister of Fairfax and as a member of the Fairfax Rescue Squad. Arthur loved playing golf at the Enosburg Country Club with his friends. He was family oriented and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by the many family and friends who had the distinct honor of knowing and loving him.
He is survived by his children, Marjorie Ellsworth and husband, John, of Fairfax, Carl Arthur Wold, Jr. and wife, Dorothy, of Methuen, Mass., Karen Stetson and husband, Ralph, of Westford, Rick Wold of St. Johnsbury; six grandchildren, Beth Jasinski and husband, Brett, Joanne Ellsworth, Lori Thayer and husband, Trevor, Carleen Amasya and her husband, Sid, Nancy Barrows and her husband, Rick, Timothy Stetson and his wife, Amy; 10 great-grandchildren, Issac Jasinski, Megan and Caitlin Thayer, Craig, Jill and Kayla Amasya, Jessica and Rick Barrows, Anne and William Stetson; one great-great-granddaughter, Olivia Smith; two brothers, Roy Wold and wife, Earline, of Texas, Robert Wold of New Hampshire; four sisters, Bertha King of New Hampshire, Audrey Besaw and husband, Nelson, of Massachusetts, May Sleep of Massachusetts, Marie Pappas and husband, Anthony, of Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by two grandsons, Robert Blaisdell and Thomas Stetson; two brothers, Lawrence Wold and Walter Wold; and one sister, Anna Wold.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2003 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home with Masonic and Eastern Star memorial services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Fairfax with the Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating. Interment will be in the spring at the convenience of the family.

E. LOUISE WOLD
FAIRFAX -- E. Louise (Martin) Wold, age 85, passed away Jan. 29, 2003, at the Holiday House, five days following her husband's passing, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nov. 1, 1917, in Bedford, Mass., daughter of the late George and Sophia (Pike) Martin, Jr.
Louise married C. Arthur Wold on June 15, 1941, in Bedford, Mass. and the couple celebrated their 61st anniversary in 2002. She was a dedicated and hardworking co-owner of a bakery during her years in Massachusetts and was well known for her beautiful cake decorating skills.
Louise moved to Fairfax in 1971 where she owned and operated a book store on Main Street. She was active in her community as a Past Matron of Fairfax Unity Chapter 17, Order of the Eastern Star, and Past Grand Representative of Arkansas of the O.E.S. State of Vermont. She continued to be active in the community as a member of the United Church of Fairfax and by attending Eastern Star meetings throughout the state.
She loved spending time bird watching, working on puzzles and playing card games with her family. Louise also enjoyed many harmonious hours attending barber shop quartets. She touched the lives of her family and friends in so many special ways and she will be admired and remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her children, Marjorie Ellsworth and husband, John, of Fairfax, Carl Arthur Wold, Jr. and wife, Dorothy, of Methuen, Mass., Karen Stetson and husband, Ralph, of Westford, Rick Wold of St. Johnsbury; six grandchildren, Beth Jasinski and husband Brett, Joanne Ellsworth, Lori Thayer and husband, Trevor, Carleen Amasya and husband, Sid, Nancy Barrows and husband, Rick, Timothy Stetson and his wife, Amy; 10 great-grandchildren, Issac Jasinski, Megan and Caitlin Thayer, Craig, Jill and Kayla Amasya, Jessica and Rick Barrows, Anne and William Stetson; one great-great-granddaughter, Olivia Smith; two sisters, Beryl Hill of Massachusetts, Grace Dunham and husband Carroll of Massachusetts. She was also predeceased by two grandsons, Robert Blaisdell and Thomas Stetson; two brothers, George Martin and Richard Martin; and one sister, Dorothy Cress.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home with Eastern Star memorial services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Fairfax with the Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating. ROBERT F. "BOB" CURRY
ST. ALBANS BAY - Robert F. "Bob" Curry, 59, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at his home. Bob was born in St. Albans on July 27, 1943, the son of Frederick and the late Irene Martin Curry.
He graduated from Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans, and Norwich University, Northfield, where he earned his bachelor of science degree. He was employed at the Howard Bank in Burlington for many years before entering the national sales arena of allied banking industries, requiring travel throughout the United States.
Bob was married July 2, 1982, to Joyce Charbonneau in St. John and St. Paul R.C. Church in Coventry, R.I., where they would live for a number of years before moving to Hingham, Mass., and finally in 1996, returning to Vermont and especially St. Albans Bay, the place Bob loved so well.
Bob enjoyed boating on Lake Champlain and being near the water, which inspired his latest endeavor, the construction of his dream home in St. Albans Bay on the outer shore. He was very active with his son, Gavin, in a variety of his sports activities. Bob shall always be remembered for his genuine sense of humor, which uplifted spirits and brought laughter to those who came to know him.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Charbonneau Curry of St. Albans Bay; his sons, Gavin C. Curry of St. Albans Bay, and Tyler J. Cochran and his wife, Stephanie, of South Burlington; his daughter, Bonnie Curry of St. Albans; a special pal, his father, Frederick "Fred" Curry, of St. Albans; and his grandchildren, Liam Andrew Cochran of South Burlington, and Richard, Tristan, and Kathleen Curry of St. Albans. Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Kathleen Leadbeater Curry; a brother, Charles Curry; and his mother, Irene.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross R.C. Church in Colchester.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Sisters of Mercy Ministry Fund for Single Mothers with Children, 100 Mansfield Ave., Burlington, Vt. 05401.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ready Funeral Home, South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington.
RICHARD E. PARTLOW
CLAREMONT, N.H. -- Richard E. Partlow, age 63 of Claremont, N.H., died Jan. 26, 2003, at Valley Regional Hospital. He was born in Newport, N.H. May 26, 1939, the son of Edward C. and Arlene F. Partlow. Mr. Partlow has resided in both Newport and Claremont, N.H. all his life.
Richard was raised and attended school in Newport, N.H. He was a member of the Claremont V.F.W. He was a self employed painter and handyman. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Richard was a gifted musician, playing guitar, singing and writing his own music. His feelings came forth through his music and poems.
Members of the family include his brother George G. Partlow of Arizona, his sister, Jean "Mini" Partlow of Laconia, and two half sisters, Patty LeClair and Debbie Partlow both of Claremont, N.H. Also, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his son, Ricky Partlow, and a sister, Sandy Partlow.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours.
