EVELYN A. CARLSON
ST. ALBANS -- Mrs. Evelyn A. (Hemond) Carlson, age 92, died after a lengthy illness Tuesday morning, Nov. 5, 2002, in Giordano Manor. She was born the daughter of the late John and Matilda (Messier) Hemond in St. Albans on Jan. 8, 1914.
In 1941, she went to Bristol, Conn. where she worked, during the war, on machines in the New Departure Division of General Motors, for six years. She was a Red Cross Volunteer Nurses Aide for four years at the Bristol Hospital. After the war, she became an entrepreneur, for 15 years, as she operated the Frozen Custard Bar, then Evelyn's Snack Bar, and the Log Cabin Diner. After the death of her husband, she returned to St. Albans. She is the widow of Roger Carlson of Farmington, Conn.
She is survived by her step-son, Clifford Carlson of Farmington, Conn.; and step-daughter, Joyce Ouellette of Pinellas Park, Fla.; four step-grandsons, Michael, Paul, Steven and Christopher Ouellette of Pinellas Park, Fla.; sisters, Jeannette Damon of Bristol, Conn., Eleanor LaBombard of Rouses Point, N.Y.; and Rosaline Perry of St. Albans; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her five brothers, Ralph, Merrill, Harris, Lawrence, and Francis Hemond, and her special companion, Tina.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Interment will follow in the Carlson family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.

APRIL LEE DIXON
CARROLL, N.H. -- Miss April Lee Dixon, age 36, died unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, in Carroll, N.H. She was born April 21, 1965, daughter of Mr. Raymond Dixon and Mrs. Rosemarie (Gosselin) Smith. She was most recently employed as a clerk in a New Hampshire convenience store.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her twin children, Jennifer and Joshua Fenner; her step-mother, Bonnie Dixon; her step-father, John Smith, Sr.; five brothers and sisters, Allen Dixon and his wife Julie, John Smith Jr. and his wife Erin, Amie Weglin and her husband Mark, Christy Yandow and her husband Jason, and Jamie Totten and her husband Darren; her maternal grandmother, Anna Gosselin; her paternal grandmother, Alma Parotte; and several other relatives. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, J.C. Arsene Gosselin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Inurnment will follow in the Gosselin family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.

MUSETTA MAE BLUTO
SWANTON -- Mrs. Musetta Mae Bluto, 82, a longtime resident of Grand Isle County and most recently of Swanton, died Sunday morning, Nov. 3, 2002, in the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
Musetta was born in Highgate, May 26, 1920, the daughter of the late Ernest and Julia (Derosia) Raymond. She attended schools in Highgate and Bakersfield and on May 13, 1981, married Justin Bluto who predeceased her, January 20, 1995.
In her earlier years, Musetta managed a Gulf Station in Alburg and the Sportsman Inn in Grand Isle. She later worked for the Marshall Center in St. Albans for more than 10 years and operated a community care home for disabled girls that had been discharged from the Brandon Training School. She was a member of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Swanton.
She leaves her son, Wayne Patrick Bluteau, and his wife Lorelei of Grand Isle, two grandsons, Eric and his wife Danielle and Erin and his fiancee Niki Blair. She also leaves behind a beautiful great granddaughter, Abigail.
Also surviving are several special people that came into her life that she also considered her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ila and Bruce Whalen Sr., Christie and Bruce Whalen Jr., Lynda and John Bruyette, Marcalah Whalen, Joey Campbell, Brock Curtis, Cole Beaulieu and Anthony Campbell.
She was predeceased by four children, Keith, Judy, Donna and Darold Bluto, all in a house fire in St. Albans on Oct. 8, 1950. Four brothers, H.P., Linus and Raoul Raymond, also predeceased her.
A special thank you to my extended family, at Holiday House, Franklin County Home Health Agency and all the girls at Club Respite. Thank you for all your wonderful care. You are great.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada Street, Swanton. Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE, director of St. Anne's Shrine in Isle La Motte will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will follow in the Bluto family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery, St. Albans. DEBORAH A. WILLIAMS
UNDERHILL -- Mrs. Deborah Ann Williams, age 47, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at her home, following an extended illness. She was born in St. Albans July 5, 1955, daughter of Clement Wayne and Betty M. (Thompson) Norris.
She spent her younger years growing up in Sheldon Springs. Deborah enjoyed being with her family, especially outdoors boating and camping.
She married Daniel Williams June 20, 1980. Besides her husband of Underhill, she is survived by her two sons, Jared Williams, currently with the U.S. Coast Guard in Almeda, Calif., and Josh Williams at home in Underhill; her parents, Clement and Betty Norris of Sheldon Springs; three brothers, Sheriff Robert Norris and his wife Libby of Sheldon, Alan Norris and his wife Julie of Fairfax and Kevin Norris and his wife Amy of Essex; her mother-in-law, Henrietta Williams of Essex; sister-in-law, Kathy and her husband Bernie DeMasi of Tennessee; brothers-in-law, Jimmy and his wife Emily Williams of Milton, Pat and his wife Penny Williams of Essex, Alan Williams of Essex; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Norman Williams.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov.7, at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's United Methodist Church in St. Albans. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will be private following the service in the Norris/Williams family lot in Sheldon Village Cemetery.

RONALD E. SNOW
COLCHESTER -- Ronald E. Snow, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, in Fletcher Allen Health Care. He was born in Verdon, Quebec, Canada on Jan. 23, 1948, the son of Harold and Muriel (Donahue) Snow.
Ron spent most of his life as a technical machinist. He was currently working at the North Avenue Mobil Short Stop Store. Ron was a kind and loving man to his family and friends.
He is survived by a daughter, Shannon L. Snow of Bakersfield; a son and his wife, Craig and Amy Snow of Enosburg Falls; their mother and step-father, Debbie and David Hall of Bakersfield; two grandchildren, Parker and Emma Snow; a sister, Thelma Gruber of Ontario, Canada; and his special companion, Susan Devino of Malletts Bay; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Chapel, 97 Elmwood Ave., Burlington, where friends may gather from 5 p.m. until the service.

GILBERT NORMAN PAQUETTE
ST. ALBANS -- Gilbert N. Paquette, 66, a lifelong St. Albans resident, passed away Saturday night, Nov. 2, 2002, at Holiday House Health Care Facility following a lengthy illness. He was born in St. Albans May 1, 1936, the son of the late Gilbert J. and Loretta (Briere) Paquette. On June 9, 1962, he married Beverly J. Ovitt in St. Albans. She died Sept. 26, 1998.
Gilbert was employed for 27 years at H. P. Hood and Son and following their closing he worked for 18 years at Superior Technical Ceramics in St. Albans. He was a graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans, class of 1956, and enjoyed motorcycling.
Gilbert is survived by his sister, Lorraine Jerome of St. Albans and her sons, John and Donald Jerome. He also leaves two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, William and Janet Root of St. Albans and Janet Ovitt Ploof of Fairfax, and other nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Oren Lane officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. Interment will be on Wednesday next to his beloved Beverly in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So. Main St., St. Albans.
EVELYN LAPAN LAMPMAN
SWANTON -- Mrs. Evelyn Lapan Lampman, 81, a longtime Bushey Street resident died Friday afternoon, Nov. 1, 2002, in the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans City.
Born in Swanton, Sept. 12, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Mary Jane (Gardner) Lapan. In earlier years Evelyn had worked at the Swanton Village Dinette, Tabor Turkey Farm and the Hotel Riviera. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Burlington and the Abenaki Self Help Association.
Evelyn leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Harold Donald Porter of Swanton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Bonnie and Jack Freeman of Highgate, Theresa Menard and friend Roger Unwin of Swanton, Betty Poulin of Stafford, Virginia, Harold Porter Jr. and friend Brenda Nolan of Berkshire and Jimmy and Gisele Porter of Sheldon; 10 great-grandchildren, Jack and Jason Freeman of Highgate, Kristen, Katie and Allison Poulin of Stafford, Virginia, Harry, Nichole, Zachary Porter and Matthew, and Amanda Porter of Sheldon; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alanna and Hailey Freeman.
Evelyn was the oldest of 17 children and is survived now by two sisters, Theresa Brow of St. Albans and Phyllis Draper and husband Maurice of Milton; as well as four brothers and their wives, Norman and Janice Lapan, "Buck" and "Peanut" Lapan Larry and Beulah Lapan all of Swanton and Noah Jr. and Debbie Lapan of Highgate; three sisters-in-law, Janice and Elizabeth Lapan both of Swanton, and Marjorie West of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Trombley of Highgate and Louis Hemingway of Maine. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and special friends, Heidi Osborn and Colleen Horn.
Six brothers, Harold, Louis, Fred, James, Arnold and Roger and four sisters, Pat, Madeline, Shirley, and Linda and a brother-in-law, Donald Brow, predeceased her.
Evelyn's family wishes to give special thanks to everyone at the Holiday House Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility along with all the doctors and nurses at Northwestern Medical Center. We appreciate all the love and care you have shown to Evelyn during these last weeks and months.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at 11 a.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. Father Maurice U. LORETTA PICHE
Loretta Piche, 75, an icon of motherhood, has departed this place for a world of everlasting life. This departure comes after nearly two years of her remarkable strength and diligent battle from a long illness.
She was an amazing example of remarkable strength, endurance, and fight, which she scrummed to on Nov. 2, 2002.
She has completed her living in our world, and left it with peace and love to an everlasting new life where she will only experience love, happiness and rainbows. She never lost her hope, faith, or sense of humor. She continued to show everyone who came in contact with her and unrelenting love for family and life. The only thing she didn't like was a bad time.
Loretta didn't get to go fishing with her sons or her grandsons in the last two years but she left memories with all she came in touch with.
She was also a strong, animated and feisty woman, mother and friend that will not be forgotten and will always be remember her for when she was still capable before her death.
Mother's unrelenting and timeless fight with her long term illness was given up on a lovely sunny fall day which was a kindle of how her living spirit shined in the world. Now she will always have sunny days, blue skies, and her heart will be forever filled with joy in life everlasting, and we can rejoice and celebrated her life for all time.
She is survived by her sons, Duane Hubacher and his wife Laurie of Georgia, Terry Hubacher of Colchester, Kenny Hubacher and his wife Pam of Sheldon; her daughters, Debbie Crandall and Donna Krumm of Cincinnati, Ohio; granddaughters, Laurie and her husband Mark Insel of Waterbury Center, Amy and her husband Bruce Leo of Huntington, Jessica Hubacher of Seattle, Wash.; grandsons, Darren and Keith Hubacher of Los Angeles, Calif., Fritz Hubacher of Cresent City, Fla., Sean Bryon of Cincinnati, Brent Navari of Burlington, Brad Krumm of Burlington.
She is predeceased by her parents Henry and Georgianna Jerry.
Funeral services are to be held today, Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at 5 p.m. in the LaVigne Funeral Home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service in the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St. Winooski, Vt.
J. PHILLIP DAVID
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- J. Phillip David died on Aug. 15, 2002. He was preceded in death by former wife, Ruth Brinkman and his son, Philip David. Mr. David was born in St. Albans in 1918. His parents were Bessie Olmstead Newton David and Cornelius Henry David. He graduated from Bellows Free Academy-St. Albans, class of 1936, and from the Ohio State University in 1940, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.
His first business association was with the Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company in Chicago. In September of 1941, he entered the Navy's V7 program. He was one of 15 officers out of 500 who were selected for training in Bomb Disposal, a volunteer group. He closed the group's activities at the end of World War II as a Lieutenant Commander.
In May of 1944, he married Ruth Carolyn Brinkman. They had two children, Lucinda and Philip. Ruth died in 1957. In 1959, he married Ann Lewis Gibbons. She was a widow with three children. Joan P. David was born to this union.
From 1949, to the time of his death, Mr. David was actively associated with various financial associations and a member of various civic organizations, including the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, and Policy Board of Pride in America, all in either Dallas or Houston, Texas.
A memorial service was held Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at 2 o'clock at St. John's Church.
